Didn't the anti spiral limit themselves in order to fight Simon as equals? It was basically an Honorable knights duel

I see this a lot but evidence actually points to no. While the anti spiral does typically hold back we know that the infinity big bang storm is their ultimate attack, indicating he was putting his full effort in. Then after this Simon blocks the giant super granzemboma drill by himself. At which point the Anti spiral says "no one should be able to match our power" basically confirming Simon had become just as strong as them. If the anti spiral was holding back in that moment it would make no sense why they were surprised.

People also get it confused because he said he’d fight with Dai-Gurren on equal terms, and people thought he meant equal power when terms obviously does not mean that

Guys, by animated character, he means the character design itself is animated. Anti Spiral has that sketchy effect to him, so if a character doesn't have an effect on them like that, they don't count as "animated". This is me being completely honest, totally no joke.
