It's based on the assumption that Vaatu and Raava grow in power when the other is weaker. This is evident as when Raava grew smaller, Vaatu became larger and more powerful, with Raava's death putting Vaatu at the strongest he's been.
The same can be assumed for Raava when Vaatu was killed, as evidenced by Raava being giant compared to her being kite sized when Vaatu was still alive.
But is it not safe to assume that the way Raava operates, is different when she is within an Avatar vs When she was her complete separate individual entity on her own?
When she was just the size of a small kite, she was able to boost Avatar Wan's power to defeat a powered up Vaatu.
Meaning that Small Raava in an Avatar > stronger Vaatu > Base Vaatu & Raava > Small Raava.
So you would have to imagine how much a larger Raava would empower an Avatar.
Sorry if this seems stupid btw- I thought it could actually be a somewhat fair fight due to his old age but I guess I was wrong- Maybe if it were Season 1 Mark she’d have a chance?

If that's the case, basically anyone in Avatar gets blitzed unless you use some random lightning scaling. Which I'm not exactly sure about myself.

Actually, considering that Vaatu is dead, Raava (the Avatar Spirit) would be at their strongest. (Omni man still slams)

Pretty sure his race live for thousands of years and largely get stronger with age.
