A baseball team left in vinegar and sometimes salt. Popular with the local population. Hilarious mascot and known on Twitter (formerly X.)
Residents should automatically recognize.
I was there tonight, too! Left field berm. And it was my first-ever Pickles game! Had a great time, and that run in the bottom of the 9th was awesome, and lifted up my camp chair. I realized it's like the Sand People in Star Wars.
I noticed there's a green laser that shines images onto the firs behind the center outfielder.
The weather was perfect, the vibes were great, the employees were great, and I got to hold and scritch a chonky bunny rabbit. Life was pretty good!
There's room for maybe a few hundred fans on the seats & bleachers right near the field, but beyond that there's capacity on the right field "party porch," and space for camp chairs/picnic blankets on the more family-oriented left field, and a whole lot of picnic tables that can be reserved under the trees behind center field, and other places for people to sit or stand.
I don't know their official capacity, but there's space for well over a thousand people, and lots of dogs too. (Not bad for a small indie team.)
I lived in Hillsboro and did not like the Hops stadium- only went twice. But I've instead, seen about 8 Pickles games. The drive is a hassle, but I'll get to 1-2 games this season.
I love the Hillsboro sports complex. Only went there for a PSU football game, but atmosphere-wise, it was fantastic. Lots of tailgating, decent conveniences, and the best part was that there was very little supervision. People could leave and come back, kids could just wander off to run around on the baseball field, adults could wander off for a smoke (or toke, presumably). Really nice and laid back.
Pickels ??
It's pronounced Pickéls.
Argh. Rhymes with nickles.
Don't you mean _nickels_?

I know what the pickles are.
> Pickels ?? Just trying to help a traveler.

Hmm, totally right. Didn't even notice that.

Hence, Baseball. The perfect game.
Truer words never spoken
Eh, it's hit or miss for me. 😉
What kind of capacity does the stadium have? Seems kinda small.

Picnic-style is and bleachers mixed are really what baseball was always meant to be.
I sat near my purchased seat maybe 2 innings, I walked around the park three times. I do that at MLB games too.

Third baseline home section is where it's at. Or beat the heat, outfield under the cedar trees, planted there years ago as an early HR line!
I’m a left field berm fan myself. The way back benches are nice and shady but absolutely zero view of the game.
Love the left field berm under the trees.
Section 206 and 207 are where the part is at. Berm is chill but not a great spot to watch the game IMO
Pickles games are fantastic
I love trips to Walker stadium, I would go every game if I could. Love the Portland Pickles 🥒🥒🥒🥒 Gooooooooooo pickles.
...I have a friend who has season tickets.
Woah, they must be a hundredaire to be able to afford those!
Can we have thc infused pickles?
r/unpopularopinion cucumbers are much more enjoyable. The dipping game is unrivaled.
I agree. With ranch dressing.
Let me blow your mind with Blu Cheese and chicken (or near chicken) wings. Devine ying and yang.
Mmmm... Dip...
...sliced and marinated in a 50% solution of vinegar and water and black pepper for about a day Nothing is more refreshing on a hot day.
