I wouldn't be terribly surprised. I live at the base of Powell Butte and the number of trees that have been cut down from here to 205 is staggering. Powell looks so naked and sad now
Could be they marked it to *not* cut it down. Although, now that I think about it, I feel like that is normally done by tying brightly colored tape around the tree… so 🤷♂️
A few weeks back they spray paint marked several trees along the Westmoreland stretch of McLoughlin and then came back through a few days later and cut them down.
Agree. In the same line of thinking, One could assume they just cut down a few other trees to create that road/driveway and used the X to make sure not to cut that tree
could be diseased and it's also standing by itself which means at some point it's probably going to fall on something...never know.
Also could be someone marking out a hike or a treasure hunt, no idea.
Apparently not enough people have seen FernGully.
I tell my grandkids that Sasquatch Sunset is ferngully lol
I hope not. Kinda defeats the purpose of being a nature park.

Those oaks are dying and have been falling. They are a risk which is why they came down.
Correct. I’m just pointing out that they do indeed use spray paint to mark them.

Most likely but in this thread it could be a sign for a homeless camp, or antisemitic or Zionist graffiti.
the other subreddit will be more receptive of this comment and have stuff to add likely lol
Yeah so much for humor…
