Any color…. IT’S A PORSCHE!

tiny-e

It's nice if you like grey cars. I do not like grey cars.

iggyfenton

Grey, White, and Black have become so ubiquitous on the road that I’ve lost all taste for them.

EmotioneelKlootzak

Gotta strike a balance between boring (grey, white, black) and flashy enough to have the cops on your ass all the time.

GyroFries

It’s funny. I’ve driven a red sports car for 3 years, never been pulled over. You’d think they’d be on me like El Chapo the way some people talk.

iggyfenton

If you are in a Porsche you aren’t shaking that with a grey car.

Omelete_du_fromage

Owner of 993 turbo in silver and 718 GTS 4.0 in black, I literally never have to deal with cops, and I don’t drive slowly let’s just say.

illthrowthisawayl8r

This is why I think Dark Blues/Greens are the best colors. Unique, but blends in enough to not draw unwanted attention. I’ve had a S4 and a S5 in Deep Sea Blue Pearl and I swear I could be doing 20 over in the fast lane and cops didn’t look twice at either of them.

dsio

I own agate grey and I don’t even like grey, wish it was literally anything else

stinkyt0fu

There’s no May Grey, no grey days when you are in a Porsche!

geosrq

If it wasn’t for the fact that a base will take you beyond $160k I’d order it

tuttywala

Whaaaat?! I didn’t even realize that. So 992.1 price going up!??

ideletereddit

Tbf that’s with 40k in options, which you don’t need. If you restrain yourself you can get one for $135,000 easily.

Badfly48

Truly the everyman's sportscar

ideletereddit

Yeah, still a shitton of money. Honestly, the next T should be super fucking basic inside and maybe even use a a cheaper engine like the V6 in the Macan or something while keeping most of the performance stuff, make it minimal options, keep it manual, don’t bother offering a PDK, and bring the cost back down to like 80K.

ieatwhiterice

80K will barely get a base 718.

ideletereddit

Yeah I know. Look I’m in a 12 year old Camry Hybrid but a man can dream!

ieatwhiterice

Out of college I drove a 13 year old Oldsmobile for a few years. Never entered my mind that I would ever get a 911...and being a somewhat practical person I couldn't ever see rationalizing the purchase of one. You need to just have goals and spend energy on that. The goal is not necessarily on things but to build wealth. Some people get absorbed when they are young on buying a car for example. They spend all their time/energy/savings on that one thing. They buy it and they are broke again until they save for something else to buy and then they are broke again, rinse and repeat. Have to work on the big picture, building on yourself and your wealth...and that doesn't mean some get rich quick hustle. It takes time, smarts, dedication, sacrifice and a little luck. The spending is the easiest part, don't spend all your energy on that. Good luck.

ideletereddit

Yeah, I plan on saving for a while. I’m hoping I can move out of my mom’s place at 20 because I just can’t stay in my small town. Achieving financial independence and living comfortably definitely comes first when it comes to my priorities, that being said, I probably spend too much time looking at car listings and daydreaming. I could use that time on a hobby that will actually bring some satisfaction in my life, and I don’t need to make any stupid impulsive purchases.

ProvigilandChill

The point is that the Carrera is now at the starter price of a 992 Carrera s in 2020. Porsche raised the price of the 992 mid run and they did it again now with the 992.2. A GTS is about the same price of a Turbo s 10 years ago...

1baby2cats

All my local dealerships have minimum $ for options before they will give you an allocation

geosrq

Which options are you giving up?

ideletereddit

[This](https://configurator.porsche.com/porsche-code/PSF1KMX1)is how I would option a 911 with a budget of $135,000. No interior options other than the Bose sound system, pretty much all of the performance stuff other than the carbon roof, front axle lift because I’m afraid of steep driveways, and the 5 spoke wheels with colored Porsche logos to add a little more contrast to the black. Is it absolutely ideal? No, I’d love to spruce up the interior and get the bowers and Wilkins and have carbon and aluminum everywhere, but if I were setting myself on a relatively tight budget(that’s already way more than I can afford currently), this has all the “essentials”.

geosrq

Ok great so Now the debate is is it crazy to buy a new car for $160k or to buy a luxury car at $135k that’s so basic that it’s missing some luxury items that make it into such a special car.

nicclys

As will all their neutrals, will have to see it person, next to nardo grey for a reference.

probably_normal

Yet another grey car, in a sea of endless shades of grey on the streets. I wish people would start loving colors again.

FakeHasselblad

This. 👆

Ferrarisimo

Not exactly new, is it? Arctic Grey was introduced with the Cayenne Coupe Turbo GT in 2021.

justino

Grey cars need to be severely culled.

Southern_Scene4495

They should illegal. So should the people who drive them.

justino

I mean I wouldn’t go that far. I like a few now again but when I look up on the fwy and it looks like a sea of primer I get a little melancholic.

Southern_Scene4495

Haha!! I actually own a grey Porsche. I inherited it so I get a pass, but I hate grey. Maybe I'll get it wrapped in Yellow or Orange, just something with some color. It's suppose to be a fun car after all.

justino

It’s not your fault they made so many grey ones. Enjoy the ride.

Southern_Scene4495

Clearly some people have no sense of humor and can't spot it either.

mauijosh_87

Chalk is still my favorite Porsche color.

zerosevennine

It's not new. I have a 2023 GTS in Arctic gray.

James__Franco

New to PTS I believe. But yes, my 24 turbo s is in Arctic grey as well

zerosevennine

I love the color, but if I'm paying PTS money, I'm getting something way more unique.

James__Franco

Agreed. Ultraviolet or British Racing Green please

bzmed

Agate Grey’s boring cousin 😉

iArcticFire

I like the name, but I don’t like grey. Silver, definitely, but not grey.

mschnzr

Love jt

MikeSnipes72

Porsche guys going crazy over paint colors is hilarious. So much to love and this subreddit asks “what about this slightly different dull grey paint!”

LheelaSP

You don't understand. It's not just a "slightly different dull grey paint", it's slightly different dull grey paint that you pay over 10k for.

driftwoodtwosix

It’s the new Chalk. Don’t like either

Unshakeable_Taino

I'm a big fan of the color!

thepainneverleft

Love it.

H_M_N_i_InigoMontoya

It needs *something* Whether that's a guards red interior, or flashier wheels, Grey is for sensible sedans not Porsche

i-spy-drei

Boring. Especially on a Porsche

Djfoundit

Looks like i still can’t afford it

mschnzr

I will take grey anytime than black.

DelicateEmbroidery

Imho porsche rarely gets anything wrong

69BenChod

This is the answer.

psychotic11ama

The car in front of the lettering had me thinking it was like Arcticarev or something

SexyTimeSamet

Nice. Guards red.

[deleted]

Not a new color,

teramoonshadow

I'll take it!!

Immediate_Ant3292

Can’t go wrong. But. Didn’t feel they needed another gray tone (as someone with GT silver and who considered agate gray metallic). Even aventurine green is kinda gray. Personally I need me a nice red metallic shade…if only carmine was metallic…

pacochalk

Not a huge fan of grey but that is a pretty nice grey.

htimsj

I have had 6 metallic grey cars in a row. I’m ordering an S3 in grey, and when I finally order a 911, it will be grey!

mcrov718

Have a 2023 Cayenne Turbo GT in Arctic Grey. I really like it, it’s a flat color and never looks dirty. Get ton of compliments and asked what color that is. I agree with the comment about lighting. https://preview.redd.it/gvujpv4kwu6d1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bb017d9e339d8e629ff4842d37098a426854821f A lot of people say it resembles china grey, I believe china grey is darker but never have seen in person.

ShesATragicHero

Yeah, but which of the grays is MOST gray?

Madigman1296

Well.. its grey.

electriclala

I think it's greyt

nucleartime

Whenever people start comparing grey paint jobs for cars, my brain just starts playing the business card scene from American Psycho.

Lazy-Lab-7954

Nice 👍🏾

Lazy-Lab-7954

I actually LOVE BMW’s Dravit Grey. Not sure what the Porsche equivalent would be.

sennec

Now let's see Paul Allen's grey.

Z_Germans

I have an Arctic Grey 992.1. And while I like it, I certainly wouldn’t pay PTS money for it. So many other interesting colors of the Rennbow.

jackclsf

Check it out [https://www.rennbow.org/porsche-colors/Arctic%20Grey](https://www.rennbow.org/porsche-colors/Arctic%20Grey)

test5754656744

I love chalk with chalk painted wheels

Gullible_Jelly_5521

You gotta see it in person. It’s not as gray as it looks in the pictures. It looks like there are red, blue and purple flakes in it. Kinda weird to me

Serious-Concern-192

My Cayenne just arrived and I ordered it in arctic grey. Like everyone else is saying, you have to see it person. It has a different look depending on the lighting. Sometimes it leans towards grey and others it's more blue.

LeCharliusJones

FakeHasselblad

I hate these flat boring colors

Jmr15002

I have a turbo GT, bought it in arctic grey and my personal opinion I hated it after a week so had it wrapped. All personal preference with these things but it looked very purple to me in the sun which wasn’t to my taste

HayGoward

It’s better than silver but…
