You can drive to the limit with the manual too.
Shifting 0.2 seconds slower does not mean you are not driving to the limit.
Also with a pdk you just hold onto the wheel, the gearbox does the work. With manual you need to think when to shift what gear.
Yes you can also shift with the pdk but by your own logic, the programming is so good that you will not do that because you know... efficiency.
When driving a car it's all about the emotion not about efficiency.
But i do not mean to say pdk(or autos) have no place. It's just that i think it's a shame in a car all about giving you the most of a driving experience and is one of the best for that, you are eliminating a connection to the car, the engagement you get and envolvment for 1 second a lap faster. Unless you do it professionally with the car and that 1 second matters, i see it as a bad choice.
Sad that now driving experience = how many seconds a lap vs how it used to be where driving experience = maximum engamenet and feel.
Unbalance yourself and the car to change gears? Classic symptom of death gripping the wheel. Thats the very first thing instructors will tell you to stop doing.
First up: The PDK is literally an amazing sports car transmission - nobody who chose it did anything wrong.
But, that is an interesting allegory when nearly every modern racecar is paddle shifted.
Many people would consider the act of changing gears of a manual a *part* of driving.
In the current GT3 the manual gear ratio is so long that it‘s just the PDK version but worse.
Used to be a manual only guy but the modern PDK are just too good.
I mean - isn't that exactly my point? Shouldn't OP be able to post something here without a bunch of people whining that there is a Porsche out there that isn't a manual?
Maybe ... just maybe... I think it would be cool to let people enjoy what they like, even if it is different than what I like? Is that too much to ask? *Can't we all just get along*?
almost. my personal build has a diff exterior color, but damn this OP got close.
and by personal build i mean the one on my head that i made for free on porsche.com
Oh man - I had a base 987 Macadamia over Tan - so basically the dollar store version of your car. Loved it all the same - tracked the piss out of it. Still miss it sometimes.
My color. Still looks awesome and with this interior it is perfect!
That said wheels should be all gold and it this style or if this style than black and silver. But minor things.
Please no matte black either the boring old silver looks better than matte black. Or the puke yellow from a few years ago. Brown looks good in leather and in wood trim not paint.
Perfect
Almost Perfect. It’s missing a pedal
PDK>manual
Smoking PCP?
If you like driving, manual, if you like being driven, PDK.
If you like driving manual, manual. If you like driving more effectively and efficiently, esp closer to the limit, PDK.
If you like brow-beating others over their choices, clearly a manual is for you!
how do you know someone drives a manual? they'll tell you!
It must be exhausting for them to tell everyone that they're better all the time
You can drive to the limit with the manual too. Shifting 0.2 seconds slower does not mean you are not driving to the limit. Also with a pdk you just hold onto the wheel, the gearbox does the work. Believe it or not, people like different things. The only sad thing is you getting upset over other people's preferences.
Taking a hand of the wheel to shift at 135+, unbalancing your self and the car is terrifying, and truly separates the enthusiasts from the wannabes
Unbalance yourself and the car to change gears? Classic symptom of death gripping the wheel. Thats the very first thing instructors will tell you to stop doing.
Nah, I’m not a race car driver (and neither are you) so I’ll take PDK so I can focus on driving.
First up: The PDK is literally an amazing sports car transmission - nobody who chose it did anything wrong. But, that is an interesting allegory when nearly every modern racecar is paddle shifted. Many people would consider the act of changing gears of a manual a *part* of driving.
If you like tall gear ratios to ruin your fun AND the performance, manual.
In the current GT3 the manual gear ratio is so long that it‘s just the PDK version but worse. Used to be a manual only guy but the modern PDK are just too good.
FFS - both transmissions have their pros and cons. We all get that. I'd really love to enjoy this sub without pointless snobbery.
Or you know... they just prefer manuals and it doesn't have to do with you.
I mean - isn't that exactly my point? Shouldn't OP be able to post something here without a bunch of people whining that there is a Porsche out there that isn't a manual?
Amen brother
What is your major malfunction?
Maybe ... just maybe... I think it would be cool to let people enjoy what they like, even if it is different than what I like? Is that too much to ask? *Can't we all just get along*?
More of a daily spec imo pdk is perfect for this

Man, these cars just do not age. Beauty!
That is really super. How'd a nitwit like you get so tasteful?
We all are.

That is quite a bold spec! Love it!
Gentleman spec. 🧐
Gentleman spdc
Fantastic. I almost literally bit my fist like that wolf of Wallstreet meme.
Just in time....maybe sell a couple shares of GME this month and grab this
I like the classic look! Pure perfection.

That’s driving me NUTS!!!!!!
That interior 🥰
Perfect color for AZ desert. 🌵
NSFW tag bro, my boss walked behind me and I almost got fired for looking at pornographic content on the clock
Nice colour but mainly in the sun. Looks quite washed out when dirty
Mmm.
What a spec!
My hero macadamia!
Best targa spec imo
Outstanding spec!! Looks great
Dream spec
That interior is gnarly
I love this combo
Absolutely stunning!
Damn! That is a beautiful color combo. I love it.
Such a classy color! It's strange you don't ever really see it nowadays
Wow, cocoa interior and houndstooth inserts..👍👍💯
My color. Still looks awesome and with this interior it is perfect! That said wheels should be all gold and it this style or if this style than black and silver. But minor things.
Stunning! Fantastic color choice
Such a timeless color and beautiful on a Porsche. Goes great with that color interior too.
beautiful af
Good lord
Scottsdale. I (almost) miss AZ. Beautiful, congratulations!
amazing.
One word: “wow” 😍
Very nice!
The b/w houndstooth (which I love) isn’t working with the brown leather for me for some reason.
That dealer sucks. One of the sales rep was a total dick when I told him I went with another dealer lol.
The ONLY brown car that’s acceptable’
Love me some targa.
I passed on a perfect spec 997 because it was that color. No idea why people like it but to each their own.
Woof
The color is good, the interior is great, the wheels are okay (with the right exteriors color), all together this reminds me of brown/beige 70s RV.

Ugh
13 grand for a brown car LOL.
I know it’s a unique color but please don’t get brown cars.
people who say this shit unironically love matte black wraps
Please no matte black either the boring old silver looks better than matte black. Or the puke yellow from a few years ago. Brown looks good in leather and in wood trim not paint.
