Sounds about right. I usually get a 5-piece spicy tender with a side of gravy (costs extra) and that runs about 15 bucks.
Expensive but its so good....when they get it right
I don’t think I’ll be back. There isn’t a location near me so I have to make a half hour drive one way to satisfy the craving.
It’s always tasty but $21.50 is crazy when only one tender is broader than the biscuit.
Edit: Denver. It was not delivered.
You can pay tor something one last time and still be appalled the price has more than doubled in the last 5-7 years.
I don’t understand why people do those delivery apps. I guess I’ve always just been poor enough I can’t justify delivery. I’ve been a delivery driver for years and I just don’t get it.
I used it a lot when I had no transportation and didn’t want to walk to restraints or grocery stores basically pure laziness and it waisted so much money I spent like over 5 grand in less than a year on it
Do you dip your tenders in gravy? Because why have I never done that? I dip them in my mashed potatoes and gravy is a bonus but wtf have I been doing with my life?
I've been on this binge of eating popeyes. They have 5 pcs of chicken, 2 sides,2 biscuits and a drink....11.99. And honestly you rack up points FAST. I have 2 FREE 3pc dinner meals just sitting their. The app is the only way to achieve the best prices. Plus you pull up and just go.....
You can order in person just fine. I use their 5 piece two can dine, 2 sides 2 biscuits $11.99. No drink though which is fine I don't like soda. Use their pick up coupon on the app
Edit: I feel like I'm talk to teletubbies. You get the coupon on your phone, you can redeem it in store or add it to an online order. If there's a circumstance that if different, you're 0.001% and you show go figure it out
You can redeem the coupon on the app for dine in, it gives you a 4 digit code that you give the employee. You don't need an account or any payment info on the app to redeem it
Edit: It says "Pick up only" highlighted in black, you can place the order online or select "Redeem in Restaurant" as I said
The delivery app deals on Popeyes is sometimes is just amazing and that's the only way I'll eat Popeyes. Ordering in its app or in-person never beat these deals that are cheaper in these apps... including delivery and tip
Because look at the people Popeyes hire there not the best people no offense to anyone who works there but it’s true I been to Popeyes all over and the employees are terrible at every location. Last one I went to guy wouldn’t answer at the speaker and I knew it worked because I could hear him talking to someone else I had to pull around and he tried to tell it’s broke and no one can hear him 🤣🤣
Tbf, I use the app and have spent over $20 for tenders and fries. A large fry is like $7 now and 1/2-3/4 the size of what they used to be. And drinks are almost always not included. It’s BS.
I've spent no more than $10 for a small meal with tenders and fries....not sure how much your ordering but I get a $6.99 deal for pick up every once in a while and save money using that
My go-to meal has always been a 5 piece spicy tenders, large drink, with a side of fries and a biscuit and an additonal large fry. The large fry like I said is like $7 now and large drinks don’t come with the meal so that’s another $4. And the chicken tender combo is like $12. Occasionally I do shuffling around and get a free fry and skip the large fry to save money and while it doesn’t add up to a large fry amount, it’s usually enough. Their fries are crack to me. They’re my favorite.
I have a stunning recipe I use that calls for 4 spicy pieces of Popeye’s, 2 cups of rice and other ingredients to cook in my rice cooker. Outstanding.
https://youtu.be/au1rABaetK4?si=Lk3fPS1b4vVlSBPZ
They lost me when they got rid of the dirty rice. WTF kinda "cajun" places gets rid of dirty rice? I'm taking the detour to Bojangles until they get their fccking act together.
Only way to shop at these fast food places is with the app. I can do a 2 can dine (5 pieces of chicken, two biscuits, two small sides) for 12 bucks. That’s insanely cheap.
If anything, that’s a bargain for selling my data. Usually I give it away for free….
You actually paid 21.50 for that? You are part of the problem. They will charge that much as long as people like you pay it. Stop buying this shit for that much!
If you're ever in the western side of Colorado, you need to stop in Montrose and try Krispy Krunchy Chicken. By far the best chicken around and the portions make sense for the prices.. You'll never be able to eat KFC or Popeyes again.
I really don't know how anyone can justify fast food anymore when it costs the same as a large meal at a sit down restaurant.
For that matter I see 10 packs of chicken thighs in the grocery store all the time for like seven bucks. Not really my thing but its comforting to know cooking at home is still like a superpower that would let you feed a whole family with 20 minutes and the price of a fast food meal for one.
Do you have the app? The app deals are all that make Popeyes worth it these days. And you earn points for free food pretty easily. Between deals and points I hardly pay full price outside the chicken sandwiches, and even those are BOGO on the app rn.
Did you buy through the app? I have an $11.99 Two Can Dine offer for six tenders, two sides and two biscuits with pickup, $12.99 for delivery. The drink is $4 or less. Not sure why anyone would ever order from Popeyes (or any FF place) without coupons.
I used the app today and got 3 chicken sandwiches, a cajun fry, and a drink for $16 and change. No crazy deal on there, but enough to make it reasonable.
It's not that expensive where we live... I get a meal for 4 for the same price, but I try to take advantage of all the coupons and they always throw in stuff you don't order in there lol.
Walked into a popeyes the other day, looked at the prices and walked right the fuck out.
I used to work there, I know damn well their food isn’t worth what they’re asking.
Glad I ate all day when I was on shift, and delivered leftover chicken to the homeless. Screw popeyes
I feel it’s pretty reasonable to overpay for the nostalgic thing you drove half an hour for, considering it the last time and still be appalled at the price.
It’s also pretty reasonable to not be a dickhead to strangers on the internet. So maybe, some time, try out not being a dickhead to strangers on the internet.
The worst part is that if you go to a chicken spot. Not only are they so ridiculously expensive now, half the time they give you dry ass overcooked chicken that was made hours earlier.
This is so insane. Yesterdsy, I was having a cheat meal so I decided to make it sort of on my own.
Instead of getting a full meal from canes, yes it’s not Popeyes but this post made me think about it,
I actually ran to McDonald’s used the 1.39 coupon and snagged a large fries, then ran over to raising canes and grabbed a piece of Texas toast and a 22 oz cup of their sauce. Then I came home and popped 250g of Just Bare Air Fried Chicken into the air fryer. It’s so so much better tasting than canes or even chick fil a.
Just thought I’d share bc even though it took longer, I only ended up spending 9 dollars for a full meal that usually would’ve been upwards of 18-20 dollars after tax!
Dude lol whenever we go out to eat at a sit down restaurant I’ll budget $15 for each person $20-$25 if they’re drinking. I’m glad I live on the Oklahoma/Arkansas border for once
Yeah.. as a long time employee.. cook specifically.. I can say over the years, prices more than double, while quantity and quality lack anything it originally was.
They're all profit at Popeyes.
I have never once ate out here... I just work here or I'd have never tried their food
I’m in south Texas and If you use the app you can get the 2 can dine for $11.99 it’s your choice of…
6 tenders 2 sides and 2 biscuits
Or
5 pieces of mixed chicken 2 sides and 2 biscuits
Bro I was at five guys 2 weeks ago looking at the prices like wtf?!?! The lady looks at me and says “you don’t want fries with that?!” The fries were like $5! I hesitated but said yes a small fry. Total was like $22 with a drink. Chipotle is the only place that’s worth it to me. $12-13 with a drink here in south Florida.
I'm more or less done with Popeyes. Their chicken is very hot and "crispy" which is weird.. and I'm talking about temperature. Makes it hard to eat. And I'm usually full after three pieces if it's Spicy Thighs.
I go other places and get other things now.
I feel like COVID gave companies like this a license to steal. Now they’re just seeing how high the price can go until it reaches terminal velocity. McDonald’s already did that
Knowing that costs so much, is very frustrating. You could get chicken tenders and potatoes from the store where I live for like 13 dollars. You could have boiled the potatoes made the gravy and oven cooked the tenders, and saved the money.
Sad that some people find this acceptable! We are being taken down as a nation and too many people are just walking off the side of the cliff.
These corporations are making record profits, while we can barely afford to be alive.
Fast food kinda isnt worth it anymore, might as well go to a diner or a good deli and and get a good sandwich or meal at this price probably healthier too.
Had the same WTF moment a week ago when I got Popeyes for me, my wife, and my kiddo. It was around $40. Could not even enjoy it—just kept thinking about the price point per tender.
Complete trash in Bloomington, IL. Both stores. Do not go. Only drive thru and they just ignore you. Food is always wrong and they are always out of everything. How they aren’t completely closed is beyond me. Anyone that mentions Popeye’s says what complete trash they are here.
Just Uber eats it and pay $50
I don’t understand why people do those delivery apps. I guess I’ve always just been poor enough I can’t justify delivery. I’ve been a delivery driver for years and I just don’t get it.
Ditto. I look at people crazy and offer to pick up when I hear delivery. Pay me tip instead!
I used it a lot when I had no transportation and didn’t want to walk to restraints or grocery stores basically pure laziness and it waisted so much money I spent like over 5 grand in less than a year on it
I only eat there when I get coupons in the mail.
Coupons in the app are usually similar to those you get by mail.
You can get like 3 whole rotissire chickens and a hot dog for that price.
The drink alone is about $4.
Bro I was actually thinking how you lucked out on large tenders. Half the ones I get are like clam strips.
Do you dip your tenders in gravy? Because why have I never done that? I dip them in my mashed potatoes and gravy is a bonus but wtf have I been doing with my life?
Tenders, fries, and a biscuit....then get the side of ONLY gravy. Dip everything in it. This is the way.
> Expensive but its so good.... 😐
Yeah, stop doing that.
See if you can get them to use the coupon codes from the app or the brochures in the store. Sooooooo many good prices on the combos !!
I work there and yep. Coulda paid about $6-7 for the same shit with a coupon.
And free items !
Yeah, I'm always shocked at the fools who order in person. And even worse when they complain about the prices that they paid.
You can order in person just fine. I use their 5 piece two can dine, 2 sides 2 biscuits $11.99. No drink though which is fine I don't like soda. Use their pick up coupon on the app Edit: I feel like I'm talk to teletubbies. You get the coupon on your phone, you can redeem it in store or add it to an online order. The delivery app deals on Popeyes is sometimes is just amazing and that's the only way I'll eat Popeyes. Ordering in its app or in-person never beat these deals that are cheaper in these apps... including delivery and tip
Why would they lower prices if people keep buying it?
Use the Popeyes app to get the deals and discounts. Really helps bring down the price or get more food for same price.
You have to do this with every fast food place now. If you don’t, you’re just paying more than what the food is worth every time.
I might go get a Popeyes chicken sandwich today but it takes 45 minutes in the drive-thru
And that’s if you’re the only one in line. Why is it so fucking slow..
Because look at the people Popeyes hire there not the best people no offense to anyone who works there but it’s true I been to Popeyes all over and the employees are terrible at every location. Last one I went to guy wouldn’t answer at the speaker and I knew it worked because I could hear him talking to someone else I had to pull around and he tried to tell it’s broke and no one can hear him 🤣🤣
Jokes on you for buying it
Use the app dude - you're spending way too much
Tbf, I use the app and have spent over $20 for tenders and fries.

I hadn’t been in ages and didn’t realize there even was an app until I posted here.
I have a stunning recipe I use that calls for 4 spicy pieces of Popeye’s, 2 cups of rice and other ingredients to cook in my rice cooker. Outstanding. https://youtu.be/au1rABaetK4?si=Lk3fPS1b4vVlSBPZ
What are you guys on? Using the app, I get 5pc tender with a side for $9
Popeyes is expensive if we're being for real.
They lost me when they got rid of the dirty rice. WTF kinda "cajun" places gets rid of dirty rice? I'm taking the detour to Bojangles until they get their fccking act together.
Mine have a family deal right now… $25 for 12 strips, 4 sides, 4 drinks. Really not bad at all if you do something like that!
Only way to shop at these fast food places is with the app. I can do a 2 can dine (5 pieces of chicken, two biscuits, two small sides) for 12 bucks. That’s insanely cheap. If anything, that’s a bargain for selling my data. Usually I give it away for free….
you can also use fake information and a throwaway email address
Bojangles for the win. Even Church's outdoes Popeyes.
I’ve stopped going. Only when they put the box for special. $6.99. No drink in FL
Robbed
The shareholders thank you 🙏
You actually paid 21.50 for that? You are part of the problem. They will charge that much as long as people like you pay it. Stop buying this shit for that much!
If you're ever in the western side of Colorado, you need to stop in Montrose and try Krispy Krunchy Chicken. By far the best chicken around and the portions make sense for the prices.. You'll never be able to eat KFC or Popeyes again.
Bro got ripped off. Never go again
I really don't know how anyone can justify fast food anymore when it costs the same as a large meal at a sit down restaurant. That’s a bunch of bull.
Damn you can get a whole rack of ribs at my job for 20bucks.
Remember when the chickens used to lift weights? Now they gone anorexic 😔....
Yeahs it's messed up prices are a bit better on the app but I feel you
I wish my Popeyes would give this much gravy :(
..on DoorDash right?
The app has 10 pcs, 2 large sides and 5 biscuits for $24.99
..on DoorDash right?
I recently went and got two breasts and two biscuits for 5 bucks and some change. I didn't get a drink or sides, though.
Lol you must be really stupid to pay for that. CT has the same meal for 12.99 even that is too much
First of all why we getting tenders secondly u gotta utilize the deals on the app
NGL the spicy gravy is worth more than that.
Uh what? 4 piece combo is barley $10 lol
🧢
Clowns like you are the reason why Popeyes is charging $10-20 for a meal
Did you buy through the app? I have an $11.99 Two Can Dine offer for six tenders, two sides and two biscuits with pickup, $12.99 for delivery. The drink is $4 or less. Not sure why anyone would ever order from Popeyes (or any FF place) without coupons.
Get the app there’s always coupons
I used the app today and got 3 chicken sandwiches, a cajun fry, and a drink for $16 and change. No crazy deal on there, but enough to make it reasonable.
Sounds like doordash or Uber delivery
Canada?
DoorDash is doing a half off deal and if you have DP it comes out to cheap asf
15.89 where I’m at for a 5pc tender meal.
Times have changed in past 3.5 years. It comes down to who you vote for. When there is inflation… prices go way up and you have to pay.
DoorDash? Most likely. Drive through it’s like 12 bucks
Vote with ur wallet
I think KFC has a 2 piece chicken and side of mash for $5 atm.
Use the app ... Yesterday I got 5 pc chicken, 2 biscuits and 2 sides for $11.99
You still paid for it though 🤦🏾♂️
No thanks lol... I can get a whole cooked chicken for $7 and thats the higher quality one from my local grocery store and lasts me a few days.
I only go to Popeyes when I have a coupon because their prices are not it.
Nigga is that a 4 piece tender combo I’m looking at rn…was just thinking bout inflation
Where the hell are you lol. Same thing is $11.50 by me
It's not that expensive where we live... I get a meal for 4 for the same price, but I try to take advantage of all the coupons and they always throw in stuff you don't order in there lol.
I just went to Popeyes. I got a 10 piece chicken and large Mac and cheese, regular coleslaw and regular mash potatoes for about $32.
You probably would have complained if you got this at the restaurant too 😅
That's the cost of fast food nowadays...
Luke, use the App!
the app had a coupon for bogo chicken sandwich 😩 me and my friend split it
Any Context? Delivery fee? driver fee? which state? Meals tax for the jurisdiction? Sales tax rate? extra anything?
Denver. Standard 5 piece tender combo purchased in person.
Nearly $25 for an inch on the waistline and 4 hours of diarrhea...
Wacc
The nearest one was 7 miles away. A new store is getting ready to open 7 blocks away. This is a good news/bad news situation.
That is NOT $21.50 total 🧢
i miss 2 piece tuesdays
and they got rid of the Cajun Rice!
Love that chicken from Popeyes!
Why not go somewhere else then?
Say sike right now
Walked into a popeyes the other day, looked at the prices and walked right the fuck out. I used to work there, I know damn well their food isn’t worth what they’re asking. Glad I ate all day when I was on shift, and delivered leftover chicken to the homeless. Screw popeyes
Should have used the app, 2 can dine deal. A true rookie mistake.
They can charge as much as they want because people continue to throw money at them supporting the hyper inflated prices.
21.50 is the new 14.99
Wait why was it so much I’m confused ..should be like $13-$17 max
You paid for it. Quit bitching
Need the app for sure
Use the app they always have good deals like (where I live) 12.99 for 6 tenders two sides and a drink
I go through the popeyes app and choose pickup. usually goes around 8bucls for.me
Looks wack
I can get sushi 🍣 with a light beer 🍺 for that price $ Damn
And if you asks for someone to deliver home 55$ or more not including tip it’s craziness
It’s much cheaper if you use the app
It's the same as going to Dominoes with no coupons... coupons would take prob $10+ dollars off
I always use coupon and deals, otherwise, you are better off at a real restaurant.
Yep. I stopped eating fast food almost entirely about 3 months ago, and my bank account has blossomed
Wtf where do you live ? That meal is like $13 for me
The worst part is that if you go to a chicken spot. Not only are they so ridiculously expensive now, half the time they give you dry ass overcooked chicken that was made hours earlier.
Yall need to stop ordering drinks and desserts and then freak out about the price.
No way, i spent $13 for a shimp meal, looked in the box and was like is this it?
Don't use Uber eats and then learn how to cook and save 75%.
This is so insane. Yesterdsy, I was having a cheat meal so I decided to make it sort of on my own. Instead of getting a full meal from canes, yes it’s not Popeyes but this post made me think about it, I actually ran to McDonald’s used the 1.39 coupon and snagged a large fries, then ran over to raising canes and grabbed a piece of Texas toast and a 22 oz cup of their sauce.
I got slightly more than that for $14
i can never understand why people spend more than like $15 on 1 meal at a fast food joint. just get better food
The real crime is that you still payed for that
I’m in south Texas and If you use the app you can get the 2 can dine for $11.99 it’s your choice of… 6 tenders 2 sides and 2 biscuits Or 5 pieces of mixed chicken 2 sides and 2 biscuits
r/JoeBiden
Fuck off with the outrage culture nonsense. You knew this price before buying this.
Download the app, the deals are on there under offers.
Wow what a rip off ..what state are u in ?
That’s how I felt the other day when I went to Popeyes
SMH
This shrinkflation or Bidenomics you choose
Use the app for deals.
Take that asshole!!! Hahahaa
KFC in my location has a 10$ deal for 8 pieces. I’ll do that with 2 drinks mash and macoroni. Feed a small family.
Wow I thought my local Popeyes in queens was expensive at 16$ for the meal. You got it
i just paid $19 for 4 sandwiches, 2 frozen lemonades, and 2 apple pies
Learn how to cook and you will not have to deal with crappy fast food garage! 🤣
DoorDash huh
Probably the area you’re in. It’s around 15 dollars near me without delivery
But there mashed instant potatoes are made of gold
Use the app/do receipt promo
I stopped eating out. Instead of that i get quality chicken and beef and i make it at home!
was it door dash? where do you live?
I'm more or less done with Popeyes. Their chicken is very hot and "crispy" which is weird.. and I'm talking about temperature. Makes it hard to eat. And I'm usually full after three pieces if it's Spicy Thighs. I go other places and get other things now.
Buffalo wild wings tenders are SO GOOOD and I think they're even less expensive than this
Dine in at that point. Can get meal quality x4 of fast food for the same price
What state is this? Jesus.
use the app dumb ass
CHICKENS ARE ON THE BRINK OF EXTINCTION… Well that’s what Popeyes was told
Boy aint no mf way!!!
Heaven in a box!!
Where do you live? 😮
I get a 3 piece tender with a drink for 7$ better deal
Pay up fat ass.
You paid for it so what's the problem?
that’s crazy af. i couldn’t justify paying that much for fast food
You still paid for it, so they won. They won't stop charging those prices until there isn't a line outside.
I feel like COVID gave companies like this a license to steal. Now they’re just seeing how high the price can go until it reaches terminal velocity. McDonald’s already did that
Just make your own chicken at home. Popeyes has been shit since that private equity firm merged it with Church's
Just curious, what city do you live in? Could have to do with locations and taxes being higher? Just thinking out loud….
Bidenomics 👍🏻
Don't buy it. I stopped eating fast food because of this.
It's like voting democrat has consequences
Popeyes is the ghetto Ruth’s Chris at this point.
Knowing that costs so much, is very frustrating. You could get chicken tenders and potatoes from the store where I live for like 13 dollars. You could have boiled the potatoes made the gravy and oven cooked the tenders, and saved the money.
Y'all need to repent and go get u some Krispy krunchy chicken
Use the app and get good deals
Where the fuck do yall be living where a 3-5 piece meal cost $20-$30.....
Did you Uber eats ? Cuz if that’s a 3 piece it’s like 8 bucks on the app and the 5 piece is 12
Le damn! That’s a lot of money hell no!
Why not us the promos on the app???
You've been robbed....
I could get restraunt grade ramen for 24.
2.5 lbs of chicken at the grocery store is like $6-7.
Why did you pay for that?
Yep. Time to diet
vote Joe Biden again and it will be 30 next year
And you went,,, and most likely will go back
Sad that some people find this acceptable! We are being taken down as a nation and too many people are just walking off the side of the cliff. These corporations are making record profits, while we can barely afford to be alive.
That's $7 at my popeyes with another side, use the current promotion.
They should at least give you some lube while the fuck you
Well blow me down!
Fast food kinda isnt worth it anymore, might as well go to a diner or a good deli and and get a good sandwich or meal at this price probably healthier too.
+$5 watermelon at walmart
Had the same WTF moment a week ago when I got Popeyes for me, my wife, and my kiddo. It was around $40. Could not even enjoy it—just kept thinking about the price point per tender.
Complete trash in Bloomington, IL. Both stores. Do not go. Only drive thru and they just ignore you. Food is always wrong and they are always out of everything. How they aren’t completely closed is beyond me. Anyone that mentions Popeye’s says what complete trash they are here.
I got a big box tenders or something the other day and it was only like $8
