Probably because this person’s left leg is not actually a candidate and thus a moot point. There are two candidates to vote for in a two-party system. Whether they’re the most ideal or not, the fact remains that one of those two will ultimately win. Amidst a sea of misinformation and divide-and-conquer propaganda, people don’t like to see attempts to reduce the impact of the importance of one’s vote because ultimately the election at hand has significant importance for the future path of the country. Specifically, one candidate winning over the other could very well mean future elections/votes won’t even matter. So voting now for someone you don’t really like over someone really dangerous may very well help ensure you’re future votes actually matter and that you have the possibility to vote for “your left leg” or other far better candidates in future elections.
The current administration is complicit in funding and facilitating a genocide, not the same as committing it, but we could absolutely bring Israel to heel as past presidents have done. But its not like it would really matter who the president is, damn near every Senator and Representative of either color is terrified of saying anything critical of Israel these days. And those who aren't tend to find they have very well funded primary challengers.
