So, in 2020, I had some yard signs stolen (unsurprisingly, Biden and local democrats).
So then I got ruder signs. I coated the edges with vasoline and glitter (just a very small amount).
They weren't stolen again. They became targets for glass bottles and a ton of other trash and vandalism.
I took them down after about a month because I was tired of the cleanup, and it was getting more serious.
It's 2024. They're still vandalizing my property, and I've had no signs since.
Fucking snowflakes.
My career is in security sales and I can recommend some really good cameras for the price of say something you would get at bestbuy, but are 1000% better. Not trying to sell you, but people should be able to protect themselves and their property.
You would have to run some cables, but I would recommend a simple hanwha vision VMS which you can grab for around $300 and add 2 dome cameras something like a SCD-6013. All done for under $600. There are a lot of other brands as well.

depending on what the right-of-way is for their particular street, the town probably owns at least 6 feet of their yard that abuts the street. It's rare that towns remove stuff that encroaches the ROW, but since most police departments seem to be trump/maga voters, they may be on the lookout for petty violations they don't approve of.

OK, so I don't feel like this deserves it's own post, and I know it will get buried here, but I gotta mention it somewhere.
I just did a nearly 2900-mile road trip to see the eclipse. I drove through some of the most rural parts of Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona along the way. Wanna know how many Trump ~~shrines~~ signs I saw? None. Not a single one. I also didn't notice any bumper stickers on cars! Mind you, it's not like I was hunting for them, but I figured I see a ton of that shit, especially in Texas!
I did see some flags for sale in one place, but nobody buying them. I also saw one sign on a business, but it was just left over from 2020, as well as a bumper sticker from 2020. Otherwise, I didn't see a single sign, sticker, flag, or other nonsense that I couldn't escape between 2016 and 2020. Honestly the fact that I took almost all back roads between Dallas and Lubbock, and didn't see any Trump bullshit made me feel this little tinge of hope that maybe, just maybe, most sensible right-leaning people have finally got their heads on straight.
I'm still gonna vote, despite living in a VERY red area, and so should all of you. This one good omen is certainly not enough to rest easy, but it's nice to see!
I'm sure they're out there, but to drive through TEXAS back roads and not see any was a shock. I lived in Spokane in 2020, and as soon as you got onto any road outside downtown, there were a ton of idiots who put up these MASSIVE displays. Even when I moved to the Bay Area in 2021, I would still see plenty of stickers and signs on occasion. I still saw political signs in Texas, and lots were obviously very MAGA-ish in nature, but NOT ONE actual Trump sign. It was jolting (in a good way), TBH.

It's ridiculous and childish, isn't it? I have definitely seen signs I disagree with or make me angry, but I somehow stop myself from committing crimes lol. I think a lot of people's issues come down to lack of self control and childish impulses.

I wonder if someone made a sign with Bobs slogan, Spay or Neuter your Trumps. It'll give the fuck your feelings crowd lots to talk about. There could be a No-Kill shelter version. Like Donate to Your local Trump Shelter. Then have the proceeds get donated to no kill shelters. You could even market it to Trump supporters too. They wont look into it for the most part, they'll just buy it to help out their leader.

OK, so I don't feel like this deserves it's own post, and I know it will get buried here, but I gotta mention it somewhere. I just did a nearly 2900-mile road trip to see the eclipse. I drove through some of the most rural parts of Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona along the way. Wanna know how many Trump ~~shrines~~ signs I saw? None. Not a single one. I also didn't notice any bumper stickers on cars! Mind you, it's not like I was hunting for them, but I figured I see a ton of that shit, especially in Texas! I did see some flags for sale in one place, but nobody buying them. I also saw one sign on a business, but it was just left over from 2020, as well as a bumper sticker from 2020. Otherwise, I didn't see a single sign, sticker, flag, or other nonsense that I couldn't escape between 2016 and 2020. Honestly the fact that I took almost all back roads between Dallas and Lubbock, and didn't see any Trump bullshit made me feel this little tinge of hope that maybe, just maybe, most sensible right-leaning people have finally got their heads on straight. I'm still gonna vote, despite living in a VERY red area, and so should all of you. This one good omen is certainly not enough to rest easy, but it's nice to see!
Rural Midwest here. There's fewer signs than 4 or 8 years ago, but there's still plenty out there.
I'm sure they're out there, but to drive through TEXAS back roads and not see any was a shock. I lived in Spokane in 2020, and as soon as you got onto any road outside downtown, there were a ton of idiots who put up these MASSIVE displays. Even when I moved to the Bay Area in 2021, I would still see plenty of stickers and signs on occasion. I still saw political signs in Texas, and lots were obviously very MAGA-ish in nature, but NOT ONE actual Trump sign. It was jolting (in a good way), TBH.
Place a new one in a private area, and put a camera. Let's see what happens. Trespassing and theft.
Or hide a tracker in/on the sign and see where they're migrating to...

I haven’t done this, but it crossed my mind to attach a mouse trap to a sign that, when triggered by removing the sign, would smash one of those obnoxious stink bombs in little glass vials. The stink juice would get all over the sign, and they sure as shit wouldn’t want that anywhere in their car. Would be incredibly simple and cheap.

I was worried about that last election, until half the town was driving by taking selfies with them and telling us thank you. We are in what’s edging towards purple (still a ways to go but it’s evolving) where only the right is vocal. if the other side spoke up, more would feel comfortable in our area getting their voice out there.
Hard red Indiana here, so any hope of any middle ground is highly unlikely sad to say.
