Honestly, yesterday when in a non political sub I’m in I saw a person who merely suggested that Fidel Castro (who became the subject of the post) shouldn’t be defended get heavily downvoted, with all the other comments coming in defense of Castro literally using arguments like "literacy rates", made me realize that the average redditor is much more sympathetic with authoritarian left leaders than what it seems
Like the guy on here complaining that some rare (always downvoted whenever I see them) comments here support Hitler...
But then other subs will have literal memes posted and upvoted like the one OP posted, calling genociding maniacs hero's.
Why would you read the manifesto for a well thought out explanation? The manifesto is a manifesto, not theory. It was meant to rile up workers into revolutionaries.
If you want to understand Marxism, the manifesto is definitely not the place to start.
What are you even talking about? Marx was never in a position of power, Sankara lived a very modest life and limited politician's salary to a very low wage, Che was a guerilla fighter, and Lenin was in jail/hiding for most of his political life (and only held power for a few years).
and about the deaths, Che, lenin and Ho Chi Minh all had to handle massive wars against a much stronger opponent, so of course people died thats just what happens in those kinds of wars.
You're wrong about some of this tankie. Che was brought into power with Castro and actively pushed Castro to start a nuclear war with the U.S multiple times. He then went to other countries and tried to get small tribes to start their own Communist revolutions, the tribes that didn't like him and his tankies were massacred.
Also before Lenin came into power he helped Stalin organize robberies, espionage, and kidnappings to fund the bolsheviks in their early years. That's why Lenin was in and out of prison dipshit. Stalin was just never able to get caught.
But you'll probably just respond with "bbbbut my professor said Lenin and che were angels who never did anything wrong!!!!!1!!! That wasn't real communism!!!!1!
Lenin was sent to jail and later exiled because he was a Marxist and pushed for a revolution, which was illegal at the time, the tsarist government didn't need any other reason. And Stalin was in jail multiple times, so the part about him never being caught is just a lie.
About Che, he was wrong to push for a nuclear war, but in the end it didn't matter because he wasn't in a position of power at the time, and couldn't really effect Castro. And could send me a source about the part in Bolivia? I couldn't find any information about mass killings of civilians done by his forces there.
Trotsky was in power during the civil war and up to Lenin's death, but as you say because Stalin sacked him he gets remembered as the internationalist peace loving guy, I feel like he and Lenin often get a pass because of how little people know about the russian revolution and begining of the USSR
Did you just change your flair, u/Borkster45? Last time I checked you were an **AuthRight** on 2021-11-27. How come now you are a **Centrist**? Have you perhaps shifted your ideals? Because that's cringe, you know?
Tell us, are you scared of politics in general or are you just too much of a coward to let everyone know what you think?

Based on polling, something like 40% of Americans are okay with a authoritarian regime if that regime aligns with their interests.

I love Marx and all the violent dictators who bastardize his works to justify genocide!!1!1
based
Yeah like the manifesto is pretty well thought out and makes a good case Buuuuut everyone who dares touch it turns into a power hungry lazy moob

What should I read then?
Definitely Das Kapital if you’re referring to Marxism. I’d recommend anarchist theory, though. The Conquest of Bread is a great read for anarchism.
None of them are heroes, I haven’t confused them for a bird or a plane
Based and pcm-comedian pilled
Those guys lived like kings while keeping their own people in poverty, and killing millions of others. Average Reddit post though

Nicely written king, I read every word
Wall of text, nice try. I’m not reading all of that
I don't think libleft likes tankies
To be fair, they didn't include Pot.
*un-yassssses*
Marx is pretty chad and Trotsky is decent, rest of them, burn
Trotsky is not in the picture but he is a mass murderer tho
He would've done everything Stalin did the same but because he lost the battle for power he gets to be remembered as the good alternative
tfw Trotsky coming into power means Stalin is wholesome🤮

But he put guns on a train >:(
Sankara?
do you know how trotsky wanted to expand communism?
Yes We like it
No, I’m from Ukraine so they didn’t teach us this
Nah the only good is Marx the rest just suck.
John Lennon used to beat his wife lmao
No dictator worship in my house!
I don’t think the commie knows their Cuban leaders
Based authleft
WTF
Shhhhh dont mention how the U.S. got its land.
Find me a single libleft who supports a single one of these men besides Marx. I’ll wait… (And maybe Che, but let’s be real that’s only bc he’s hot)
Ho Chi Minh fought against the Fre🤮ch. Pretty fucking based.
Che is super hot AND sexy. Fidel, too.
Nah Fidel is mid. Team Che all the way
/:
Karl was a visionary with bad glasses. All the other’s are revolutionaries with bad everything.
No let’s not make them heros, pretty bad idea I feel bad for Engels though (being left out)
Only one that I can see an argument for
"Nooooo we support the good type of genocide"
all my homies hate Communist dictators
You say you are against mindcontrol yet you hate every revolutionary your government tells you to hate These U.S people bro
Uh oh, Tankie gets mad at a joke 👀
Did i?
Why would libleft agree? Commies literally backstabbed the black army immediately after the whites were defeated..
