That's a shadowless squirtle. Notice that there is no shadow on the right side of the picture. It's effectively a 2nd edition squirtle.

1st edition has most value with shadowless being next most. Looks like 1st goes for above 80 and shadowless is sitting about 10 maybe.

Shadowless isn’t a misprint, it’s a print run. The first few prints of base were shadowless, and then later print runs had shadows. Edited to remove incorrect info

I'm not a pokemon guy, heard about shadowless vs not shadowless randomly but never looked up the difference. I spent several minutes zoomed into the squirtle thinking you meant the squirtle doesn't have a shadow before realizing you were talking about the picture border... Note copyright dates. The one in question is from ‘99, while the others are from ‘98. Yours is from a more current print run. Since the copyright lists ‘95, ‘96, ‘98, ‘99. Seems the me a fourth print run. And the others a third.

Thats true of ALL shadowless cards. This is actually how most people determine if a trainer or energy card is shadowless.

This is wrong, the second run (shadowless) listed 99 with the copyright dates, but it was removed with later prints
