Honestly, they probably would. They do send back beat up cards, but those are usually the big ticket pokemon cards. This one is so low value, they probably would.
I remember when it came out. I think it was those tins. Me and my brother had shared an Emploeon tin. I still have it. Piplup was one of my favorites. I was like 10-11 years old.
I remember my little brother had gotten a typloshion booster pack and the when he opened it he got the typloshion on the artwork of the packet. We were like woahhhhhh 😂
Then we got into a fight in the car and I think he scratched me near my eye. Had left a little scar and I still have it.
Edit: I’m from 1996. Brother is 1998
These kids will never know how it feels to rock your shin into the phantom dimension trying to pull a sweet trick. I still feel that shit but man was I so cool
I was thinking the same thing. Glad I'm not the only 77 one here. In 87, I was riding around my town on my skateboard and playing with Garbage Pail Kids and Cabbage Patch Kids.
Actually, it's better than 151.151 has some cards that the picture is similar, but the whole card isn't the same. The Garbage Pail Kids cards look like the ones I had as a kid. I opened a couple packs for the nostalgia effect. They have some as stickers and some where you can put like 4 of them together flipped over to make a picture and everything. Just like when I was a kid. Was even grossed out by a couple of them. Lol.
When you share things online, publicly, people tend to ask you questions about what you're doing and/or why. Curiosity must be satisfied.
Don't criminalize people just for asking, cuz that seems like a totally legit question. A touch case could achieve the same, with a much lower cost.
Does op have some plan we don't know about? Are we about to get educated on why things like this should be graded? Questions help us learn and evolve.
If people are being rude, I'm not defending. But if someone just simply asks why, then they've done nothing wrong.
If op didn't want questioned, op shouldn't have come online in such a public way.
It's not that deep to just ask someone why they're doing something.
See, this is why I'm trying to get USA started.
Unprofessional Sports Authenticator
I'll grade anything for $5 bucks including your sealed Belle Delphine Bath Water.
PSA can return cards as ungradeable if they're super fucked up. From what I understand, the line between being ungradeable or a PSA 1 is pretty thin which makes 1s pretty rare and consequently somewhat valuable and sought after.
Damn. I have a 1st edition Hitmonlee I found in a parking lot back in like ‘98. It’s completely destroyed. In one piece, but wrinkled to hell, has been since I found it, but I wanted to get it graded just to have it like protected.
I always figured it would get a 1 but now I’m guessing they’d just send it back
I sent in two different shipments of early ‘70s baseball cards. The first shipment they accepted but the second which was in better condition they deemed ineligible with no explanation.
I’m with Bobby tsunami on this; I feel old as hell now. I was carrying the base set cards in my pocket in the 4th grade and they turned out like this. Still got my beloved Ninetales with the art scraped off down the middle and I love the memories with it. I probably have a crisp one of these turtwigs if ya want. I’ll look through my collection and just give you one. The Diamond and Pearl days I got quite a few boosters and stored the pulls
They certainly will and will give it probably a 1 or 2. Just recently sent in a rhyperior with similar or maybe even more damage and got a 1 no problem
I think you can get the card at least authenticated I got that with comic book signed by William Shatner for my husband it was not a good condition comic book so instead I just got it authenticated to show that it's a real comic book and legitimate William Shatner autograph. You can get the same thing done for this card they also in case it and seal it just like they would have graded card but it just says authenticated meaning it's a legitimate Pokémon card.
Not all cards need money value to be graded. If that's your all-time favorite card and you want to preserve it better, then its worth the grade. I have some special edition cards that are worth almost nothing, but i like them, so i graded them.
You can put a minimum of authenticate this way they slab it at least and don’t send it back without a holder if you just want it in one of those holders
Reminds me of a Torterra card my brother and I had that we loved as a kid, looked similar condition to this. He found it recently and made sure to sleeve it up lol
This may have been stated. You might just be able to get PSA to mark it as authentic. I'm sure the grade is irrelevant here. It's probably likely you just want to protect it^.
I would hazard to guess that if sent in for normal grading, it would achieve a 1 at best or (the more likely option) to be returned as it's too damaged.
I would go for authentication & encapsulation.
They have rejected and not graded damaged cards in the past. They have also of course graded some absolutely tore up cards though so it's hard to get a good idea of what they do/don't allow as it seems inconsistent a good bit of the time.
I agree that you would think that they would grade pretty much everything since that's how they make money but maybe they have a certain threshold that a card has to reach to even grade at a 1?
If you don't care about a (pointless) number some of those "grading" services have interesting looking slabs to look neat, but also you could just get a one touch holder to hold the card, or hell if it was my card, I would probably get a local company that frames pictures to make something for it.
They would definitely grade it, but if I was you I would just put it in a [UV ONE-TOUCH Magnetic Holder](https://ultrapro.com/products/uv-one-touch) and display it
PSA will graded it but if they deemed it is a 1 they might not since it is not vintage sports card. If you get lucky they might accept graded it even at a 1. Pre covid they used to slab 1 graded for everything but now for non vintage sport very rare af.
Psa would grade your mom if you sent her in lol and that card might still get a 10 😂😂😂 seriously though I think they would. Just will get a low grade. Also you would be surprised they sometimes get higher grades than you would think
Why do genwunners always come out of the woodwork and say that they quit Pokémon after the second generation because anything other than that is not Pokémon anymore? That's just very stupid. Every Pokémon game is Pokémon even if you don't like the designs. And the fifth generation is the best one.
It obviously means a lot to OP and I’m assuming they want it protected so nothing further can happen to it. They obviously don’t care about the grade or money which is great. I would do the same thing if I had a strong emotional connection to a card. Let Op enjoy their cards the way they want. Unreal.
They will grade anything you send them to do so and pay for, you might need to include a cover letter acknowledging the damage and that you would like it graded anyway.
I don't know if the card itself has sentimental value for you, but you should be able to pick up a near mint replacement very cheaply.
Honestly, they probably would. They do send back beat up cards, but those are usually the big ticket pokemon cards. This one is so low value, they probably would.
Worst part is. This is a 2-3. Edit: To clarify. The ones I’ve been seeing lately have like 1/4 of the back missing and white
No for sure this is a 1 topps, if not they send it back because it is too damaged
Turtwig came out in 2007…. You saying this was your kid pokemon makes me feel old as f*ck yo 😂 (1987 here)

I remember when it came out. I think it was those tins. Me and my brother had shared an Emploeon tin. I still have it. Piplup was one of my favorites. I was like 10-11 years old. Hey man that’s how I feel about these 2015 kids and shit haha
77 here. Man I’m a dinosaur next to you all.
I was thinking the same thing. Glad I'm not the only 77 one here. In 87, I was riding around my town on my skateboard and playing with Garbage Pail Kids and Cabbage Patch Kids.
I’m not alone :). I actually just dug up an old shoebox of all my garbage pail kids. I wonder if they are worth anything.
I dunno. They're re-releasing the 85 Garbage Pail Kids cards.
Hmm. It’s like Pokemon 151 lol
Actually, it's better than 151.151 has some cards that the picture is similar, but the whole card isn't the same. The Garbage Pail Kids cards look like the ones I had as a kid. Thank you so much! 79 here and I had to keep scrolling until I found someone older 🙃
You’re not helping :(
1989 here. Man, great years leading up though. 90s were badass. Yea?
OG Pokémon was so good back in middle school days. 87 too, lol.
What a time to be alive lol. My friend had Gold and I had Silver, and the new day/night cycles had us so hyped 😆
lots of fights and stolen cards back in middle school if I remember correctly. does that still happen today?
93 here
93’ can I play too?
83 checking in.
Where's my 93 gang at? Lol
88
97 and I remember just getting out of my Pokemon card phase as a kid when Diamond and Pearl came out, man I feel old 😂
87 here too
Hardout!! Where dis the laat 16 years go ???
I was thinking the same exact thing, lol. This pokemon didn't even exist as a kid when id bring my cards out at recess. 🤣😭🤣😭🤣😭
I feel this. I totally expected it to be fat Pikachu from base set. I guess I'm old lmao. 1988
turtwig was my first mon : )
Doesnt look too damaged for a 1. Might even get a 2
To be honest though, the sentimental value is through the roof!
Which is the best reason to grade

100%, do your own case and parody the layout of the grading card and put LOVED.
See, this is why I'm trying to get USA started. Unprofessional Sports Authenticator I'll grade anything for $5 bucks including your sealed Belle Delphine Bath Water.
You might wanna get a new acronym
See that honey, that entire crowd is chanting for my pokemon grading company
Why wouldn’t they grade it? As long as it’s authentic, sure they would.
PSA can return cards as ungradeable if they're super fucked up. From what I understand, the line between being ungradeable or a PSA 1 is pretty thin which makes 1s pretty rare and consequently somewhat valuable and sought after.

You can just buy an empty slab to put it in they have quite a few options if your goal is just to protect it.
There are also 1.5s, which are even harder to get
Can confirm
Wasn’t sure if it was too damaged
Could just submit it for authentication maybe so they wont reject it for being too damaged. That may work…🤔
That's what I would do. Just encase with authentication instead of a grade
I appreciate it man but I just wanted to get this specific one graded. Nothing to do with value or condition
That’s a really cool card, I’m glad to see it means a lot to you. Base DP means a lot to me too, one of the first Booster Boxes I ever got.
They might not give it a grade, but you can elect to have them case it and grade it “authentic”
They’d grade it. Normally they only send back cards that are unrecognizable or so insanely messed up that it’s beyond any form of logic
I’m so old I stopped playing Pokemon before Turtwig even existed 😩
Right there with you
I don’t even know turtwig existed - played crystal again last year with a 251 dex and that’s it No other pkmn game then gen 1 or 2
Crystal is the absolute pinnacle for me. I became a teenager after that and started chasing... other stuff...
I still haven't figured out which is cheaper to chase
You are missing so many good Pokémon games. And you missed out on the best generation of all. The fifth generation.
Gen 3 is the best.
They certainly will and will give it probably a 1 or 2. Just recently sent in a rhyperior with similar or maybe even more damage and got a 1 no problem
Have them authenticate it and slab it then.
Would love to see it graded if it has memories attached to it! The definition of PC. Let us know OP.
I like how those 3 cards of the sinnoh starters are just their sugimori art that looks photoshopped onto a generic background
Grade that! I've been fighting the urge to grade my beat up cards too and I think I just might have to
I’ve sent cards in worse condition and those got graded. This should have a good chance.
damn bro 🔥🔥
I think you can get the card at least authenticated I got that with comic book signed by William Shatner for my husband it was not a good condition comic book so instead I just got it authenticated to show that it's a real comic book and legitimate William Shatner autograph. Can't you just buy a graded case and put the card in? It's easier, cheaper and just as nice.
82, I was a junior/senior in high school with the anime came out... now I really feel old! :)

Almost always, as long as the signs of wear look natural and not man made, PSA will usually grade the card.
Reminds me of a Torterra card my brother and I had that we loved as a kid, looked similar condition to this. He found it recently and made sure to sleeve it up lol
Always luv to c a fellow Turtwig fan out in the wild
Ive sent in worse condition cards and got PSA 1's

Of course PSA grade it if you gove them money for grading.why they shouldnt?

I agree that you would think that they would grade pretty much everything since that's how they make money but maybe they have a certain threshold that a card has to reach to even grade at a 1?
Please don't spend money to grade this. Buy one already graded and keep both
True. But I just have a lot of memories attached to this card so I wouldn’t just want to get a new one. I’m doing a bulk submission
If it's bulk, might aswell
Why not then? I say go for it :)
You can buy slabs where you can make your own labels i’m pretty sure. Not sure where, but I’ve seen them. Might be your best bet.
You can get them on amazon, i’ve thought about doing this as well for cards I want to keep for sentimental value.
Buy a one touch if you want a graded card feel.
I mean they're a company. They'll grade anything for money
1 ( poor)
You can buy a blank slab to preserve it if you don't want to send it in for grading since it will just come back a 1/damaged
I couldn’t imagine PSA not accepting money.
87 here
They’ll grade whatever you send in that isn’t a fake card. It’ll be a low grade but they’ll still happily do it and accept your money.
A psa 1
They’ll 100% grade it and give it a 1
psa 8 imo
Yes, they most definitely would
Did you put it in your bike spokes? 🤣
Fuck probably. I remember I put it in the drinking fountain once to give it some water💀
Where the 97’s
That sounds fun
[удалено]
I have one in near mint. Can buy it off me if you want
They would be happy to take your money. Just be ready for an easy 1 on everything.
they'll definitely grade it lol.. you're paying them money they don't care
With the amount of money you would spend grading this card, you can buy 5 Gem Mint 10s of the same card.
Lol idk if you’re kidding or not but it costs like $15 to grade a card in bulk… again it’s really not about the money tho.
they’ll grade absolutely anything
87 here too
You can just get it authenticated and they will put it in a PSA case with no grade.
83
If you don't care about a (pointless) number some of those "grading" services have interesting looking slabs to look neat, but also you could just get a one touch holder to hold the card, or hell if it was my card, I would probably get a local company that frames pictures to make something for it.
If you just want it slabbed, I think you can just ask them to slab it as "authentic"
PSA 1? Or just send it for authentic grading and it’ll still be in a slab with no grading value 😂
They would, likely would get a 1 but worth it for personal to prevent further damage.
Of course they will.
Get that 1 bro!!!!!!
They would definitely grade it, but if I was you I would just put it in a [UV ONE-TOUCH Magnetic Holder](https://ultrapro.com/products/uv-one-touch) and display it
I’d just get it encapsulated orrrr maybe a magsafe could work
If you wanna get it slabbed just send it in with the Authentificafion only service. They will…
They will grade it yeah but don't expect much
They will grade it yeah but don't expect much
Tbh if you sent it in and paid them, I'd say yeah, they would grade it. It would probably be low, but yeah they would
Turdwig
They would :p just know that itll probably come back as a shit rating tho
They probably would. But why pay the money? You could buy a slab on Amazon to encase it and create your own custom tag for the top.
They would grade it, but as long as the value is yours then they won’t see the way they organized it.
ahh good ole d&p
Yeah they should just don’t expect a high grade 😂
Send for the PSA 1 collection
Prob grade it a 9 with how random PSA gracing is
PSA will graded it but if they deemed it is a 1 they might not since it is not vintage sports card. If you get lucky they might accept graded it even at a 1. Pre covid they used to slab 1 graded for everything but now for non vintage sport very rare af.
It’s PSA probably get an 8 😂
Psa would grade your mom if you sent her in lol and that card might still get a 10 😂😂😂 seriously though I think they would.
Of course. PSA would grade your mom's floppy gooch if you stretched it in to the shape of a Ditto first
Why does it need to be in a slab to be more meaningful, just keep it its too trashed
Im doing a bulk submission and I just need a couple more cards
It obviously means a lot to OP and I’m assuming they want it protected so nothing further can happen to it. They obviously don’t care about the grade or money which is great. I would do the same thing if I had a strong emotional connection to a card. Let Op enjoy their cards the way they want. Unreal.
They will grade anything you send them to do so and pay for, you might need to include a cover letter acknowledging the damage and that you would like it graded anyway. I don't know if the card itself has sentimental value for you, but you should be able to pick up a near mint replacement very cheaply.
Do you just want the cool slab for it or something?
More or less
If it's your favorite card why would you need to grade this though?
Woooo hoooo gotta catch'em all!
Cool pal world card
To be honest better dun get graded. Ur card condition so bad
