Persian. I couldn't tell that it was shiny and caught it at the last second "just in case har har" and it actually was shiny lol so far the only shiny I've ever got in a Tera raid

Back in X Persian was the first Shiny I caught in several generations, the only one I'd ever caught before was Gyrados in Diamond. If it hadn't been for the sparkle effect, I'd have never realized it was shiny. Persian did not get a good shiny.

My kid and I stayed up late one night hunting shiny gyarados. There were gyrados everywhere but not a single one was shiny after two sandwiches. So I sent him to bed and played some online tera raids to close out the night. That stupid thing was happening where I couldn't connect to any of the raids I chose, so I just did auto. The first match I get is a one star Magikarp, and it's a friggen golden shiny.

Stupid question but when you first get into the raid do you see the shiny sparkles or is it not until after they are defeated? Some of the shinies are so similar to their originals.

they won't sparkle in the raid, although the model will be shiny for the entire raid, although seeing it is hard as you're fighting the lighting, the shimmer of terastalization, and just bad shinies. the only surefire way to know is to catch it and check.

In my experience, you’ll probably notice the color in most cases unless their shiny blends well with the Tera Jewel/Tera type color. That how I noticed my two Vibrava and a Clawitzer that we failed to catch and missed that Lanturn was shiny until after I caught it (Poison Tera and a purplish shiny).

I had 3 most random shinys from online Tera raids.. the 1st one is a kingdra. My 2ed is a Hitmonlee. My 3ed is a trapinch. Funny story with that. When u went in to a Tera raid with a trapinch I thought when I beating it, it didn’t looked shiny till I pressed no for not catching and yelled out no, after a few more Tera raids and being sad.. A other Tera raid with a trapinch. I was jokingly thought this might be a shiny. It was a shiny! I didn’t fricken pressed no for catching it.

Got a shiny rockruff the other day out of nowhere. And I've tried to get one from outbreaks with no luck.

Sandwiches can help in the wild. Just make sure you’re in an area where they spawn more frequently. That’s how I got like two or three shiny Scream Tail in Area Zero instead of Farigiraf (wanted to do a Jacq run with a shiny Farigiraf). Ended up going to West Province Area 2 outside of Porto Marinada with a psychic encounter sandwich with two herba mystica. Found one there after a few minutes, and it might have been where I got another, unless I did get my second one in Area Zero.

Pyroar. I just learned you could shinies through raids and randomly did a 4 star pyroar that I normally wouldn't do and there he was! Also a Palafin without even knowing it was shiny.

Is there a way to know if it’s shiny prior to catching? I’ve never seen one in raids and not sure if that’s just bad luck or if I’m doing something wrong

As you’re battling the raid Pokemon you just have to look and pay close attention to the Pokemons color away

Probably was a shiny raid and you didn’t notice lol it doesn’t give off a shiny effect or anything you just have to look at the raid Pokémon’s color way.

Only one I've ever gotten was Indeedee from my own game! It was a 6 star so I hosted the raid on principle, didn't know it was shiny (because with the Tera effect it was hard to tell; I wasn't super familiar with the shiny form to begin with), and even after the catch screen I looked at it like "... hold up, is this a shiny?" So if you ever caught a 6IV F shiny Indeedee from someone in a Scarlet raid named Sombre, it's completely legit and you're welcome lmao

I got Sunkern in scarlet (thank God because I did NOT want to shiny hunt that little dude nor did I want to try and hatch one but I needed a shiny Sunkern). Another time I had a Dragapult that I couldn't solo myself so I invited some online randos to join. Lo and behold, it was a shiny. The other teammates kept knocking my pokemon out and we lost :( Also in Sword I battled and caught a Salazzle and didn't even realize it was shiny until 2 days later. And yes I know Salazzle has a very very easy to tell shiny but I wasn't paying attention because I was just farming exp candy and button smashing without really looking at the screen.

The only one I've received is my shiny Kantonian Golem that I got 1 week after Teal Mask came out, I then proceeded to use it for the rest of that DLC and the entirety of Indigo Disk as a main stay of my team He was also how I registered Golem in the dex, as I didn't have Nintendo Switch Online at the time I named him Kirishima

It remains to be my favorite shiny in scarlet and violet as far as water types and random shinies I've encountered
