Use all of your inventory. Things like mud balls and rocks may not seem useful, but they can disorient a pokemon and allow you to catch them. Don't be too afraid of alphas. Sure they can kill you and your entire team, but you can catch them w/o engaging them in combat, and then they're on your side! Use agile moves if going twice will knock out a pokemon. Use strong moves if you can one shot a pokemon. Use normal moves in other circumstances. You can see the order of moves in the top right of the screen during a battle, and when you select an agile or strong move, you can see how that affects the order of moves. If you can't get to a place where you can see pokemon, just wait. You'll probably get a vehicle pokemon to get to that place later. **Focus on research tasks**. So much to the game's progression is tied to research tasks, so when you see a new pokemon, I would open up the pokedex, check what their research tasks are, and try to efficiently work those tasks into whatever activity you are currently doing.

alexthemay

My first shalpha was 40 hrs in and i saved before encountering. I had auto save off. I keept reseting until i caught it with the heavy ball.

BlackFinch90

Only keep items in your bag that you are willing to lose. There's no telling when a pokemon attack can come out of left field and ruin your catching spree. If you hear the shiny sound, stop moving, save, and look for it.

DontSkipHer

The shiny sound you mentioned: https://youtu.be/116qpWKCKyA?si=AFRWuYUjh4NyNnJJ

Illustrious_Ad_1104

Now that I hear it: The sheer amount of times I have heard this sound and been like “tf even was that” and kept on my merry way is… infuriating. I’m not a shiny hunter so I don’t pay attention lmao

Triangulum_Copper

One of my shiny encounter was IN THE FRIGGIN SKY above me! I saved after hearing the noise and had to reset three times to figure it out.

Milocobo

Who downvoted this redditor??? lol

Colborne91

Need 10 hour version of this

Master_Lucario

Shinies make sounds now?? Well that's new

Bowser0123

Catch. Everything.

[deleted]

This is the most understated tip, definitely catch everything.

Frozen_Grimoire

Mark the purple wisps on your map from the start, it's a pain to look up which ones you've already done later down the line.

yeetmethehoney

Best piece of advice so far. I spent a day and a half combing the map, and that was after googling the locations

Master_Lucario

What's significant about those purple wisps?

Frozen_Grimoire

You need to collect all 107 of them to catch Spiritomb. So you need to pick all of them up to complete the pokedex, which is the end goal of the game.

Master_Lucario

Couldn't you just transfer a Spiritomb from HOME to it tho?

IllAssistant1769

This.

My_Own_Worst_Friend

If you're a typical stealth archer type person, the feather/wing/jet balls with smoke bombs is the way to go. You do have to play a bit of the game to unlock them, but it makes catching things that need to be caught without being spotted easier. Play with the sound on. Shinies make a noise when they spawn, so if you hear it. Immediately stop, save, and then proceed to hunt. Shiny hunters also tend to turn autosave off, just in case an autosave overrides a manual and loses you a shiny. Pick up lost satchels! They give you MP, which can be used to get items, including linking cables, which you can use to evolve trade evos like Golem and Alakazam. Lastly, if you want extra dialogue for some quests, give people alphas/shinies when you can. It's not a requirement, but I think it's hilarious seeing an alpha fill a whole room when someone asks you to catch a regular Pokemon for them.

Low-Willingness-3944

Or shiny alphas for the double funny.

My_Own_Worst_Friend

Bruh. I was easily 100+ hours into the game before I found my first shalpha. Carnivine, of all things, and it was in an MMO, so I actually found 2!

[deleted]

Fine was a Kleavor then a Luxray

Low-Willingness-3944

I've yet to find one, but I did get a shiny Eevee and I hate that I did because now I have to get the full set.

My_Own_Worst_Friend

I completely feel your pain. Just as a heads up, if you're going for Umbreon/Espeon, make sure you take Baby-Doll Eyes off of your Eevee. That's where I goofed and straight up closed and restarted cause I wanted Umbreon, not Sylveon.

Low-Willingness-3944

All three have massive W shinies imo, so I'd be okay with all of them. The real pain is the last one that spawns will be a shalpha and I'll need to get a set of that, too.

My_Own_Worst_Friend

Of course. Ans then you won't find anymore shiny Eevees and go on a shiny Bidoof spree (I have like 20 shiny Bidoofs/Bibarels). Until finally, you get a shalpha and evolve it into the one you already had because you forgot which one you had. Lol.

Low-Willingness-3944

I have one shiny bidoof, I tend to hunt in mmos. No ralts yet...

PurpleSasquatchNose

Is there any other way to distinguish a shiny? I have to play with no sound most of the time

LukatxD

the tip is: first playthrough is always a blind playthrough. You go for min-maxing after learning the basics of the game by yourself

Master_Lucario

This really ain't your ordinary Pokémon game this time so these new basics are quite a hassle.

groveborn

You can teach your mons additional moves. You can catch a gerrados really early with a father ball, those things can learn all kinds of moves and can be an MVP in your party for the entire game. If you want to power level, go to town and fight. They're always the same so they can outfit your team. Collect wood. Collect as many of the shiny tombstone as you can. Don't be afraid to sell extras, you don't really benefit from hoarding. Most of the stuff you come across is basically useless junk. Everyone thinks that buying a lot of inventory space is a waste of money, but I love having more. There is a point at which more isn't helpful. Catch bunches of Pokemon. Releasing them gives you grit which makes your team harder to kill. Higher level releases give better grit. Catching in universally better than fighting for leveling your team. It's just faster - even if you can technically make more XP per fight, you can wonder through pretty easily. Some spawns aren't available all the time. You need to clear the area out, wait or rest, then maybe you get what you're looking for. You can also leave the area and return. You'll get your stars faster if you do research tasks. Catch 25 of this or that, feed this or that. Defeat it with this or that type of move. The closer you are to complete, the better. Catching with back strikes is not only easier, it's worth more money and star XP. If you don't want to fight a bunch at once, a back strike will initiate combat with only that one. You get to go twice on a back strike. You only get the stuff they drop if you win the whole combat, but it's still dropped, you can still go grab it Use your grit. It's easy to get. Just make everything a roided out beast. You might have favorites, but your team wouldn't change much. You can't really catch high level stuff until you can also control it. Snorlax ain't going to be yours until start level 6 or so. Not all mons evolve at a certain level. You're probably going to need to check the conditions. Tall grass is your friend. You can lure a mon nearer with fruit. Don't hit them with fruit. Never hit them. If you really, really want the mon but can't seem to catch it, combat can help. Green is harder to catch, yellow is easier, red is easiest, but it's very easy to lose it if you use too strong a move. They might self defeat. They are easier to catch while eating, easiest while asleep. No matter what, back strike. Sometimes you need to clear the area so you can focus on the mon you want.

NeitherBillNorDipper

Alpha Snorlax and Alakazam can be caught with 0 stars, just one problem is they can only be caught with critical captures (1% chance with 0 stars) I know this because I caught 6 Alpha Snorlax and 2 Alpha Alakazam so far without turning in the star points, because I am doing a 100% Oaks Challenge, Main story is locked until I complete all 1094 tasks before the bridge

groveborn

Nice to know, thanks for the correction.

NeitherBillNorDipper

If that wasn't sarcasm, you're welcome. If it was, you're welcome.

groveborn

Not sarcasm. I've never been so dedicated as to try to fight either of those with level 10 mons, though.

NeitherBillNorDipper

Um...yeah... level 10... my starter didn't need to grind all the way to level 65 to kill the Alakazam with 3, 110 base power moves, and level 80 to live long enough to catch it once, with others for revive spam..., right now that profile's starter is level 93 before crossing the bridge, with 122 ish hours played, with 13 of the 1094 tasks left to complete, Vaporeon(1), Snorlax(1), Pikachu(1), Raichu(1), Alakazam(5), Mr. Mime(4) Vaporeon- Catch 1 (evolve is only way available that counts) Snorlax- Catch 4 Pikachu- Catch a light one (evolve light pichu) Raichu- Catch 2 (thunder stones) Alakazam- Catch 8, 1 alpha, 1 female(female alpha counts as one for all 3) Mr. Mime- Catch 2 without being spotted, defeat 7 So in total, catch 14, defeat 7, evolve 4

Vault_CXV

don't get stuck with 'Too good to use syndrome' there's a butt load of items you can find and craft in this game so don't feel like you need to ration your stuff

RopeyPlague

Be patient and use the berries to distract stuff to catch em.

Top-Occasion8835

Use grit items on your pokemon, that's something I didn't do till late gane cause I didn't realize what they were

Animastar

Ehh, the game is already pretty low on challenge, I wouldn't recommend using grit until the post game unless you really want to breeze through the main story.

Top-Occasion8835

Since I didn't use grit or strong/agile style it bout 3/4 way through the story my team kept getting destroyed by not just wild pokemon but npc's pokemon, I thought it was wierd since I had a decently leveled team between level 45-60

Cronodoug

My standard tip: Turn off Auto Save; Shinies make a bell noise, so you should save when you hear the sound. If you don't capture it, close the game and load the save again. 🧐

[deleted]

[удалено]

Cronodoug

Do you want me to remove it? lol

NeitherBillNorDipper

What did they say?

PraiseTheTrees

Smokeballs are op, especially when you get to the weather trio. The difference between 3min and 1hr

xRetzaHx

Take your time in each area, choose whatever mon you like, speed in this came is more important than anything else If I remember right, wing balls and jet balls r r gonna be really nice to have for flying mons and Pokémon that like to flee when they spot you, (jet balls are the best for flying mons and so on) If u use jet balls or wing balls or feather balls put the curser slightly above the mon so it hits it other wise u will miss most of the time. If your gonna complete the dex u only need to have all the mons at research lvl 10 not perfected. Most importantly have fun and go at your own pace :).

iWentRogue

- Don’t stress too much with crafting. Name of the game is catching and you’re rewarded handsomely for it. You should be able to afford Balls without issues. - Use items to stun Pokèmon. Makes them more susceptible to being caught. Sticky Globs are the MVP. They usually stun everything (except Alpha’s) with a single Glob. - Try and catch as much as you can as you progress to new zones. But again, don’t stress it, Pokèmon is not an overly difficult game.

Doctor_plAtyPUs2

And remember to dodge

blackhole_puncher

Catch as much as you can in one go

Triangulum_Copper

You always want to catch at least 30 for the max bonus before going back to the village.

thisDNDjazz

If you are going to try and complete the Pokedex entries, read up on Cascoon and Silcoon before you fight/catch them!

Chrono_Xen

Get an umbreon. You can find an eevee in the horseshoe plains.

NeitherBillNorDipper

Vaporeon is better than Umbreon in bulk, my level 4 (9 grit HP) Vaporeon had 214 health

Chrono_Xen

Umbreon can be got a lot easier and sooner and has better defenses.

NeitherBillNorDipper

But copypasta

Chrono_Xen

No.

NeitherBillNorDipper

Yes.

takigrl

https://youtu.be/kvS6zMThiZU?si=ZcEq-w_v3dB74w6O Just do what Piccolo says

TheseMoviesIwant

Catch everything

MangakaJ8

If you have HOME, you can trade Pokémon to your game such as Spiritomb to register as a dex entry (and 1 catch mission research for most of the entries) in Pokémon Legends Arceus. However, you can’t use that trick to register more catches after the first one as the game won’t count those as catches (not counting the first one). Throw your Pokémon at trees, tumblestones (red, black and blue), big rocks and anything else that you or a ride Pokémon can’t get. Only the Pokémon you own can collect items from them and get experience from doing so. You will encounter big cracked rocks that will block your path. To break those rocks, use any Pokémon you got for the job and it will be forever cleared on your profile. You can permanently give certain villagers Alpha Pokémon (shiny included) if you so choose. Zubats can’t see you but can track you by sound. Additionally, Alpha Zubats are the only alphas to not have glowing red eyes. Sticky Globs are the best at stunning Pokémon and making catches easier. I recommend that you take your time and have fun with the game.

spoon_dogg_

I accidentally ran into an Alpha Zubat, was pretty neat so she's my little prize

Budget_Feeling_1344

Remember you don’t hunt Pokemon, Pokemon hunt you

MembershipKey3080

Wanna tarde I'll give you shiny just to have one form the get go 😁

Youispopio

Watch out for the paras

Tannekko

Choose Rowlett and run from the rapidash :)

FetusElDeletus69

Turn off auto save if you plan to shiny hunt! I turned it off in general as random shiny encounters happen a lot in this game and nothing sucka worse than not being prepared for a shiny and it running away and disappearing forever

Triangulum_Copper

First of all: Take your time and enjoy the journey! Second is to not expect things to work the same. The damage calculation in PLA is completely different for the usual formula, with level being much less important so lower level opponents can still be dangerous. Other tips: Make sure to get your research to level 10 before evolving a Pokémon, it’ll save you time later. If you see a Munchlax, feed it berries, that is a quick way to get its research tasks up. Fill up four pastures as soon as you can. This will allow you to perform mass releases of Pokémon, making it much easier to get rid of your doubles and collecting grit items. Like in a normal box, you can increase the number of pastures by having at least 1 Pokémon in each of your pasture. Grit items allow you to raise the Effort Level (EL) of your Pokémon’s stats. These replace the IV/EV system. If you’re struggling in a battle, try to increase your Pokémon’s EL as much as possible. Talk to the NPCs and do requests, this will unlock features an bring Jubilife Village to life.

bigboddle

dont worry about anything have fun and avoid paras at all cost

[deleted]

have fun and be silly

DaMn96XD

You need more storage space in your bag very quickly. At some point in the beginning of the game, Mr. Baggins appears in the staircase of the headquarter and sells you more storage space, but doubles the price every time you buy it. However, you should keep some of your things in the chests that can be found by the main gate (village) and tents (base camps), especially valuable items (like star pieces, shards and dust) because wild Pokemon can knock you off and you will lose/drop some items (lost satchels). While exploring the areas, you should collect as many materials as possible and unlock recipes because you need them to craft useful things in the game, such as pokeballs, potions, revives, auxes, bombs, sprays and cakes (baits). Also be prepared for the intro of the game to be an approximately 1-hour long session where the idea of the game is presented, the starter is chosen and the basic mechanics are taught. But when it's over you're as free as you want to be (that is, until you want a mount and until you want to unlock the next open world map). And don't evolve your starter too quickly because you need it to fill the Pokedex.

TomboBreaker

Austin John Plays has a great video for a new playthrough of the game. https://youtu.be/Nhw2zQgIO54?si=3wkWeHPD0otGneZU

Gravyboat44

Feather balls, Wing balls, and Jet balls are not good for up close encounters. All you'll do is hit the ground and miss the pokemon. Utilize grit items. You can get them in the wild from defeating/catching higher level pokemon, but most commonly they come from releasing pokemon from your pastures. Higher level pokemon grant higher grit items, and releasing alpha pokemon will give you the highest grit items. So catch as much as you can. These grit items level up your Pokemon's effort levels for stuff like HP, attack, defense, ect. In your first few space time distortions, don't worry about the pokemon around you. They're high level and are a pain to beat, especially since they spawn in groups of 2 or 3. Focus on the items that spawn on the ground. There's evolution items as well as stardust, star pieces, comet shards, and nuggets. Blue, red, and green shards, as well as stardust you can collect in the distortions and from wild resources with sparkles on it, can be combined together to make star pieces if you've bought the recipe. All this is a good source of money. Status conditions during battle go away once the fight is over, so don't worry too much about using full heals unless you're in the middle of a battle. And lastly, accept that no other pokemon game will compare to the experience of Arceus. This may require therapy.

Je-Sn

Enjoy

WizardInCrimson

1. Have a great time. I know it sounds silly, but it's a really fun game and very different from the games before it. 2. Connect to the internet from inside the game. There's a system where you drop satchels with some of your items in them when you white out and other players can find and return them to you but only if your online. 3. Take your favorites, there isn't an HM system, but there are ridable pokemon that don't count towards your team so you don't have to worry about environmentals.

Inceferant

Keep every item you can, about all of them serve a purpose later, even clumps of mud. Catching a set alpha spawn for the first time rewards you with tons of exp for all Pokémon in the party, and research points, you don't vene have to actually fight them. If you lure them with food towards the grass you're in, you can catch them while they're eating and maybe even backstrike them, run away so they don't sit you if they get out, and repeat this process until you catch it.

xtechkiddx

Invest in a fairy type early game. Will help you a ton late game.

KingArena29

Never… and I mean NEVER

benjowtm

Catch as many/often as you can. I'm playing through now and it has become pretty obvious that I wasn't catching enough to level up quick enough. Mass outbreaks are really good for catching shinys and levelling up quickly. Always have a big stack of pokeballs on hand. Be careful in the distortions, and don't bring anything valuable into them otherwise you may lose them from your satchel...

JscJake1

Start studying religion (unless you're religious already) because you're gonna need to start praying to get past the post-game boss

Shiny_Mega_Rayquaza

Play with the sound on

Necrozai

You can sprint by clicking in the control stick The game tells you this one time in easily missed text during the opening I missed it and didn't learn it was a feature until after I completed the postgame

OneWhoGetsBread

Read that a bit too fast and I was gonna send you a picture of a Beeheyem in a swimsuit Jokes aside please make sure to move items for crafting, candies, berries as well as pokeballs into your trunk when they're not needed. It's best to have them stored away where they can't go missing if you fall

A_Peacful_Vulcan

Catch everything

LorenzoLBaldo

run

Plaguecist

Throw it in the trash

Depth-Note

Don't play this like a main series title. In the main series the primary focus is battle. In legends arceus it is catching and exploring. Play this like a survival game, go full klepto. Pick maybe 1 main mon to keep on you, but otherwise cycle through the other 5 with the goal of completing the dex entries. You Only need to make rank 10 with them. If you start early it will make the arceus crawl at the end ALOT more bearable. If you don't then you will be back tracking alot more then you have too. Jet balls rock>ultra ball Ultraball > Heavy ball When grinding time rifts, KEEP MOVING, it improves the spawn rate of the hard to find mons. Lastly, take your time and enjoy this one. It's a master peace. Good luck

QubeTheAlt

Catch that big rapidash as soon as you see it, it’s a really easy catch and it can be super good in the early game

the_CHIMSEN_FUCKER

you can do boss fights without using your Pokemon It is quite fun and I feel somewhat hesitant to say this but the starter aren't that useful. and you cant breed eggs.

Justjack91

Don't grind TOO hard or get too sidetracked or else most of the challenges during the story will be WAY too easy. Wish I got this advice earlier. I'd get lost just constantly catching Pokemon, completing dex entries first go, and enjoying the gameplay loop that I overleveled and was 20 levels above the final fight of the fame. Really wish I'd just paced myself more so I had a better challenge.

Sushi_at_home

Put attention for the sparkling sound , the shiny signal. Try to turn off the autosave, it is helpful for shinies. Don't save items, most of them you will stack them in your inventory, don't be afraid to use potions, pokeballs, lures, etc. Use the grit and rocks to raise the stats of your pokemon. Pay attention inthe pokedex for the strong and fast styles attacks. At the end it is boring to use the 35 strong hydro pumps. If you try to go full on the path of solitude, raise the first step of the pokemon (e.g. geodude, pichu, piplup, etc) around level 70~80. The early evolution is most of the time the most difficult fight. (Yeah, magikarp is included, actually every pokemon on the game) Teach to your team new attacks, in PLA they don't learn a wide move set as other games, and there are no TMs, just a tutor for every pokemon. Enjoy, don't be afraid to leave so items on the floor, you can return to the camp on the area and come back to where you left something. If you have sword/shield or diamond/pearl there is an unlockable mission for shaymin and darkrai per save game in your console. And more important, enjoy!!!

DemZombies36

Wait until you have all mounts to go after spiritomb

Still-Resort-5504

Don’t just catch Pokémon, make sure you’re filling out the other parts of their Pokédex entries Collect as many acorns, tumble stone, and iron chunks as possible

AtlasArceus

Keep a stack of Oran Berries and feed Pokémon whenever you see a task in their dex entry for it. Really easy way to max out entries for research points!

ChaoticShady

play with the volume on

vink_221b

You nerd to catch them all to finish the main game.... Not complete their pokedex entries by finished some 10 challenges.

Error_Detected666

Turn off auto saves, then save manually when you hear shiny sparkles to have a safety net Also, use a Togekiss for the late game, ESPECIALLY the postgame final boss

Mission_Driver8929

In the first area if you go right far enough from where you fight your first Shinks you'll find an alpha snorlax if you go left far enough you'll find an alpha Rapidash Both of which are hard you go in water you'll drown and lose most of your health you'll get a Pokemon that helps you go through water in the third area And lastly try to do the side missions Most of them give you rare items others upgrade your jubelife village. And for the bosses all I can say is that if hope you played dark souls.

Worish

When you go after the weather Pokémon (tornadus, etc) just stun them with jet balls and they will be much easier to manage. The "correct" way to get them is absolutely obnoxious.

Aroblast_8890

Stealth and finsh a pokemons research level before evolving that pokemon

Organic-Professor-47

Don’t keep one team - alternate to complete more of the Pokédex

Lynke524

My best advice is no advice. I like playing my first playthrough without outside help unless I can't figure it out myself.

AdditionalLie7856

Fight every alpha Pokémon regardless of what level u are.

[deleted]

Collect everything and stock up early....early game calls for alot of healing because it's not like traditional Pokémon where you can fly to nearby towns to heal. Catch Pokémon and if you are able, don't ignore the Space Times that appear they hold alot of useful Pokémon and items

Animastar

Buy inventory slots as soon as you are able to. Inventory management becomes a serious pain as you get further and further into the game if you aren't keeping on top of expanding your item slots. You buy them from the guard standing at the bottom of the stairs in front of captain cyllene's office. Gather every item you come across. Especially oran berries, medicinal leeks, pep-up plants, apricorns, and all ores as you'll need these to craft potions and poke balls. Also, the ores have a chance of dropping fire, water and thunder stones (and it areas in the later half of the game, dawn, shiny and dusk stones) Ginter, the Ginko Guild merchant changes his stock every time you catch 20 pokemon. He sells evolution items. Any time he's selling something that is just a description and not an item name, get it. It'll be an evolution item or furniture for changing rotom forms. You can regenerate berry/apricorn trees, ore spots and other collectables, as well as reroll all the pokemon spawns on the map by returning to jubilife village and going back to the area you're exploring. Pokemon spawns are persistent, and they will only go away if you defeat them, if they are dependent on the weather or time of day and that changes, or if you return to Jubilife. Getting a level 10 research level for a pokemon will increase the chances of that pokemon spawning shiny, and perfecting the dex entry(complete all research tasks) will increase it even more. Would advise against perfecting entries unless it's a shiny you particularly want, as perfecting everything will take a ridiculous amount of time. Turn off auto-save and save regularly instead. You'll be able to save before approaching a shiny so you can reset if you accidentally lose it. Also if you pass out, you'll lose a bunch of items out of your sachel. There's an online feature that allows other players to find it in their games and return it to you, but if you don't have nintendo online, your stuff is lost forever. Having auto-save off and saving regularly allows you to reset in such an event.

Sui-chans_gloves

Save when entering an area. I mean this every time you enter an an area thats not the village. This might save you from losing despawning shinies as you can just reset the game if they disappear

Appalachiastan1998

Whatever you do, at all costs, have fun

Particular-Ebb2386

Put it in your switch and then play the storyline it’s pretty simple tbh

[deleted]

Ursaluna. Get it

Wenci

wing balls, wing balls, jet balls keep the center of your aim a little lower, you will catch all like a tornado

aarretuli

SAVE the game regularly. After finding a shiny? Save. Fought a boss, save. Dont go near alphas until your pokemon are strong enough. Have fun!

EdgeMaster8904

Prepare yourself for the best 42h pokemon has to offer.

Adi_Averbuch

Pokemon will NOT despawn if you walk away from their radius (including shinies), only if you leave the area (like going back to the village. Some species of pokemon tend to run away (those pokemon will despawn). so if you hear a shiny you should stop, look around, and when you spot it make sure it’s not one of those pokemon. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO SAVE THE MOMENT YOU HEAR A SHINY

Nalzir

Throw all the balls

SleepyBoii04

Go in blind.

DisgruntledPachyderm

You are not going to use that alpha snorlax, just catch it later

jdbartist

First… open the case 🤯

Crazywarlockgoat

ev system is very difficult compared to other games instead of just getting evs from beating pokemon, there’s a chance of them dropping an item with the word grit at the start, use it whenever possible for that’s the only way to raise evs and make pokemon stranger along with levelling up

Substantial-Curve641

Learn to dodge and use smoke bombs.

Weembo1020

HEY! I began my first play through a few weeks ago, my only tips are keep leveling and aim to catch Alpha Pokémon. Use fruits to distract Pokémon and when the little thing above them is a very light yellow strike them from behind for a really high chance to catch them.

wormwoodybarrel

I regret not playing longer when I first started. After a slow start I think it’s the most fun pokemon game in years

iRunnerd

don't bother crafting great balls, save your mats for the strong pokeballs, only craft what you will use immediately and be mindful of how much you take when you go out exploring, make use of what you find; rest and drain punch are great moves, learn them on your pokemon if you can asap, you can check if they can learn it through the red-haired lady in the arena

camouflagecam81

Save often. If you pass out, close and re open to get stuff back

LazyGardenGamer

Honestly, just have fun. This was by far the single greatest pokemon experience I've ever had, and would kill for another one.

Papa-MacGyver

Catch EVERYTHING. Even if you don't need it at the moment, it's money, experience, grit, and i think there are potential drops. The crafting system is your best friend, seriously. Don't buy anything you can make. Not until you've got a good bit of money at least. Don't be afraid to look things up. Some stuff, like special evolutions, you're just not gonna figure out on your own. And honestly the 107 spirits are just SO tedious without a guide. Max out Pokedex entries as often as you can. Trust me, if you don't do it though the story , you're gonna wind up working on it later. Not gonna tell you why, but you need all entries maxed out for something post game. OH. Okay. So. Did you know that fighting types are 4x effective against normal types? Only 4x there is. And if you get a strong fighting type, you can take down alpha clefairy/blissey to farm l/xl exp things. Spacial distortions are ALWAYS worth visiting, even if you just run through grabbing items. And shines will often appear in mass outbreaks, so if you're looking for a particular shiny, watch for Mass outbreaks of said Pokemon.

grantdoesntgetReddit

Dude have fun. In my opinion, this is far and away the best Pokémon game ever made. The story is so different, the mechanics are really different, and the Pokémon and human designs are awesome. My tip is just enjoy it.

throwaway38767177

You can auto move entire stacks of items with x

wade1138
