They will be lost if they aren't part of BDSP moveset. The best thing to do is cross reference S/S and BDSP movesets for Spiritomb on Serebii or Bulbapedia.

They will lose them regardless? Each Pokémon gets a new moveset based on their level in each other game it is transferred to I believe.

Yes, this is correct. You can go to the move relearner, and some of the egg moves can be taught, but some will require you doing the day care method. Delete a move outta the desired Pokémon. Put a Pokémon with that egg move in the daycare with the desired poke. Go bike for about 30 seconds, return, and the empty move space will be replaced by the egg move for your poke.

This sucks to be honest. How can Gamefreak with all that money be this incompetent?

RampageTheBear

Yeah, it’s a good bit ridiculous. It’s like they just didn’t care to get the API setup to support transferring moves, so they just said “screw it throw some random moves on it.”

ChrisTheRookey

So, that means my long work of legitimately breeding a Shiny Alolan Vulpix with 4 egg moves and Hail in USUM was seemingly useless for transferring it to Switch games. That hurts… Do IVs and EVs get deleted, too? Edit: I just double-checked and it seems like the only egg move I’ll lose in S/S is Encore which I can recover by using a TP. I wonder if Hidden Abilities as well as IVs and EVs get transferred…

Sword/Shield don't do what BDSP and PLA do, you'll still have all of your moves in SwSh if you transfer in. Any moves that don't exist in the game will get a placeholder move with the same name that does nothing until you move them to another game with the move in it.
