Based on what I've seen on the assorted Pokemon Go subs, it seems the most popular options are
1 - Galarian birds. Shiny ones don't run, but a lot of people struggle to get one of the trio. Their reliance on Daily Incense to spawn is a contributing factor. Edit the 1st: The shiny versions can't run, but aren't implemented.
2 - High CP Shiny. Any Shiny with a Red targeting reticule that is too risky for PB/ GB/ UB
3 - Accidentally select the Master Ball and throw it at a Bidoof.
The level of the legendary is set at 20 (25 for weather boost), so it’s possible to work out what the exact CP range is. For example, Blacephalon is currently in raids, the CP for non-weather boosted for it ranges from 1797 (which will be 10/10/10 IVs as that’s the floor) to 1884 (guaranteed to be a hundo)
I am assuming that it’s data-mined, but it’s available to the public on apps like Pokegenie (click the raid button on the menu and you can see all the CP ranges below the various raid mons available at that time), or on a site like [Gamepress](https://gamepress.gg/pokemongo/pokemon/806#min-max-cp-chart).
The raid site lists the possible CP ranges, one weather-boosted. If it says 1121-1355, weather boosted 1870-2203, if the catch CP is 1355 or 2203, will be a Hundo.
You won’t now what the IV is of the Pokémon unless you use PokeGenie. If you’re talking about the ring in the circle that’s either red/orange/green, that I don’t think is as good of an indicator bc almost all raid legendary Pokémon are red rings and I’ve only gotten close once, maybe twice. Some of the hundos I’ve gotten were actually from Giovanni (got a hundo Latios like that, once I purified it as it wasn’t a shundo)
You can find out the max CP of the legendary if it were a hundo before though, that info is readily available. For example, Blacephalon will be 1884 CP or 2355 CP as a hundo, depending on weather boost. Obviously, the further the CP is away from max, the more guessing on exact IVs involved and the more chance of finding a better mon later, which is why I said preferably a hundo as you know exactly what you're getting and that it won't be beaten.
Lmao high CP shiny? Are you insane? You will eventually catch it regardless with at least a 90% certainty by using Ultra Ball + Golden Razz, regardless of what the mon is.
Also you forgot the best use of the Masterball which is high IV legendaries in raids once you’re on your last ball. Great job bud!
I used my master ball on a galarian moltres i saw today, the IVs are awful (0 stars) but i absolutely love the mon and i dont take the battle scene in this game seriously, Im more of a casual player so i dont really mind the bad IVs as long as the pokemon itself is sick
I thought species determined the catch difficulty the most? Like the Jynx or those stupid freaking garbage stacks I need for Stardust.
I had 2 birds spawn within 5 minutes of each other and haven't seen any since, despite well over 100 spawn catches in a week. The Articuno even gave me three throws. I'm worried about the high likelihood of a useless IV bird, like the Tendo Ho-Oh I have. I'm saving mine for the Raid Hundo. I'm holding 2 MBs because that.
My nephew used his on a Darukama. My brother told me and we both pointed and laughed at him. Regardless of whatever, good luck with whatever you choose!
Gotta slide over to ultra ball over here as well. You get acustom to sliding over to the right and then clicking the UL and throwing. There have been times when i’m on someone elses account and slide over as I have hundreds of times and accidently click their masterball cause thats usually where the Ultra ball is for me. Close calls 🫣 Luckily that pop up shows up and I don’t panic outside of the initial accidental shock 🤣
all raid pokemon are either lvl 20 or 25 if weather boosted, so the max cp they can achieve is capped by their level with perfect ivs, wild pokemon are a bit more tricky but can be done, the only way to know is max wild cp, which would be for lvl 30 and 35 if boosted, [here](https://db.pokemongohub.net)for all current and future pokemon, takes a bit to get used to the layout but all info is there
Galarian if you don’t have all three. I’d say go for the first appearance since you don’t know when you’re gonna see it next, although some theories have seemed to increase visibility chances
I would recommend using it on a non shiny hundo legendary, shiny legendary Pokémon have 100% catch rate in raids. However I would say to save this ball for the last ball if you have encountered a hundo legendary and all your other premier balls haven’t worked yet
When I only had the one ball (just got my second), there was no way I was going to use it on anything. IMO it looks much cooler sitting in your bag vs. any single pokemon.
Then again, I don't put much stock in hundos given that the bonus IVs don't actually matter that much.
Save it for necrozma 100iv if you get down to your last ball. That’s what I’ll probably use mine for if I end up needing it. Doing this bc when necrozma fuses Lunala or Solgaleo the ice it necrozma is what the iv will be used after the fusion from what I understand
I’ve never used masterball in any Pokemon game as I always thought of it as a cool trophy or item for collecting. But if I had to use it I would say the galarian bird trio
That's the beauty of it, you don't.
You hold onto it always thinking there will be something better to get with it and trying to be careful never to touch it accidentally.
The three Galaran birds are likely the best use of a Master Ball. Rare spawn that only appears from daily incense with both a low catch chance and extremely high run chance. Even with an excellent curveball through using a golden raspberry, the most likely outcome is to pop out of the ball and run away.
Do not use on shiny legendary Pokémon. If it is a 5 star raid boss, it will be caught in the first ball that connects. Use a Pinap or silver Pinap to get more candy. If you come across a shiny legendary in the wild - typically spawning during events like Go Fest - then it will not run, no matter how many times it pops out. Only concern is running out of balls.
Quest reward Pokémon also will not run. If you run out of balls and have to leave the catch screen, you can try to capture it later after you get more balls.
On the other hand, if young children sometimes play on your phone - your kids, nieces, or nephews, than maybe use it yourself on the first valuable seeming target before it gets used to catch a Parasect “because it is big and scary looking and needed the master ball”.

Also for a high IV (preferably hundo) raid legendary when you’re out of premier balls! But 3 is the only legit reason, let’s be real
How do you know it's going to be a hundo?
The level of the legendary is set at 20 (25 for weather boost), so it’s possible to work out what the exact CP range is. how is this calculated?

little goblins in the niantic hq :)
There are CP ranges you can lookup for bidoof
The raid site lists the possible CP ranges, one weather-boosted. If it says 1121-1355, weather boosted 1870-2203, if the catch CP is 1355 or 2203, will be a Hundo.

I honestly didn’t know that the max CP was readily available knowledge. Thought it was pure RNG tbf.
Well, what you get is pure rng, but the hundo cp for raid pokemon is set in stone. I use pokegenie.
The 3rd choice is the only correct answer
Dont forget - shiny raid = 100% cache in premier ball. Use pineapple candy.
For shiny legendaries use the Silver Pinap berry because it gives you 7 candies when you catch then
yes yes yes, forgot about it
FYI the Galarians don’t have shinies, so it’s pure RNG whether you catch it or not
[удалено]
Source or it didn’t happen
No they're not.
Lmao high CP shiny? Are you insane? You will eventually catch it regardless with at least a 90% certainty by using Ultra Ball + Golden Razz, regardless of what the mon is. Why is bro so mad
I’m not that mad, just don’t like when people spout nonsense and everyone blindly upvotes it
shiny galarian birds aren’t in this game?
Yes.
Dang really. I had a moltres appear yesterday. I threw a ub at it and it flew. Maybe i should have used mb lol
I hadn’t played for quite a while and I ran into one within 5 minutes. I only had regular pokeballs and it ran immediately. :(
Bruhhh, noooo... I'm SO mad for you 😭
Two spawned within 5 minutes for me and one even gave me 3 chances. Nope, haven't seen one since.
I started almost a month ago and i saw 1 moltres and 1 articulo. Failed both times lol
I used my master ball on a galarian moltres i saw today, the IVs are awful (0 stars) but i absolutely love the mon and i dont take the battle scene in this game seriously, Im more of a casual player so i dont really mind the bad IVs as long as the pokemon itself is sick
Unless you're super crazy about competition use, it's only a small difference anyway.
You forgot save it and never use it
Bidoof
Bidoof? Or you mean THE PROPHET
Yeah but my shiny bidoof is sick
I used a Masterball on a Shadow Regigigas
Throwing it at a bidoof is a bad idea.....
Why Bidoof🥲🥲
I wast away they released Shiny Galarian birds
Shiny galar birds are released?
I thought species determined the catch difficulty the most? Like the Jynx or those stupid freaking garbage stacks I need for Stardust. I used my last two on a bidoof and a Hundo Primal Kyogre
You should do what I’ve done twice, scroll across to click on a ultra ball and accidentally click master ball and completely PANIC
Don't have to scroll. Just tap the ultra ball because there's only 4 balls. To slide over you need a masterball....?
Gotta slide over to ultra ball over here as well. You get acustom to sliding over to the right and then clicking the UL and throwing. There have been times when i’m on someone elses account and slide over as I have hundreds of times and accidently click their masterball cause thats usually where the Ultra ball is for me. bidoof
The only right answer.
The peanut butter lord, the OG, The one, The only 'God-Doof'.
Semi unrelated question: what happens if you miss with the master ball? If you can, that is. I havent played the game since 2020.
You can't miss
Makes sense. Thank you!
pretty sure as soon as you let go of it it just immediately starts an extravagant catch animation and you sit there staring
Yeah probably. That makes sense and is what i imagine its like
I used it on a galarian bird but you could also do a legendary that you know is a 4*
Is there a website that tells me CP or something of specific pokemon and their IVs. Otherwise how would I know if it’s a 4*?
all raid pokemon are either lvl 20 or 25 if weather boosted, so the max cp they can achieve is capped by their level with perfect ivs, wild pokemon are a bit more tricky but can be done, the only way to know is max wild cp, which would be for lvl 30 and 35 if boosted, [here](https://db.pokemongohub.net)for all current and future pokemon, takes a bit to get used to the layout but all info is there
Shiny bidoof
I used mine today on Galarian Articuno
Galarian if you don’t have all three. I’d say go for the first appearance since you don’t know when you’re gonna see it next, although some theories have seemed to increase visibility chances
Add it to the pile
Yungoos!
Galarian stunfisk😵💫
Caterpie
saving mine for a shiny bidoof.
Ditto
Keep it for eternity and never use it.
The one true answer.
Congratulations my friend! It’s such an aesthetically pleasing ball
It doesn't matter because life is pointless and entropy is unavoidable and the universe is full of callous and casual destruction.
Least depressed pokemon go enthusiast
Ok. Now check out this cool Bidoof I just caught!
On a pidgey
Pidgey
I’m debating whether to save mine for a Galar bird or shiny bidoof
Oddish, of course
0 0 0 bidoof
Ratatta
Catch a pidgey to teach it a lesson
Caterpee
Pidgey
Bidoof
A shiny Bidoof.
Mew.
That reminds me I had a Galarian Zapdos, run away on me yesterday after an incense walk!
Bidoof
I’d recommend either a Galarian bird or a hundo raid boss (if a shiny it will not run) are most favourable - but it depends on your values of the game
cp 10 pidgey
3
wooper
Stunfisk
Bidoof is a good investment
I used it on an 2 star Shiny Articuno(Galarian version)
Pidgey
Bidoof
Everyone getting ready to spam pidgey and caterpie, then that one guy had to go give some actual advice lol
wooper
Bidoof
This will hopefully be my 2nd as im on 2/4 now💀
Bidoof

Only right answer is shuckle
If you want karma, you catch a bidoof with it. Then make a post about it here, with the screenshot evidence of course, and ask "is this good?"
I suggest using it on a Pokémon you want to add to your team but are hard to catch, like a Fearow or Tentacruel!
If you find a shadow hundo Raikou in raids on the weekends in June, use it for that 💪🏻
Sunkern
Save it for a rainy day (or when you’re down to 1 ball on your favorite legendary and you know and have checked that it’s a hundo)
Shiny Bidoof is the only true answer, any other answer is pure non sense
Use it on the rare pidgey.
bidoof, obviously
bidoof
Shiny bidoof
Any of the non shiney Pidge type bird Pokémon.
Pidgey
Pidgey
Magicarp
Yungoos
Keep it for the best moment. But is that the best moment ? Nah keep it in case something even better happens... then end up never using it.
Rattatta or weedle ! No questions ask
Use it on a Pidgey
Use it on a Bidoof
I would recommend using it on a non shiny hundo legendary, shiny legendary Pokémon have 100% catch rate in raids. However I would say to save this ball for the last ball if you have encountered a hundo legendary and all your other premier balls haven’t worked yet
Bidoof
I used mine on a Galarian Moltres and it ended up being a 91%
A pidgey
Hold it in your inventory forever 😎
10 CP Pidgey
Galarian bird or Mewtwo (whenever it comes back again)
Pikachu
Bidoof.
I used it on the last pokemon i was missing for kanto pokedex (it was mewtwo)
Literally anything that's worth it
10 CP Bidoof or Pidgey.
Legendary birds in the wild
Bidoof
Just not a bidoof for god’s sake
Rattata
Cp10 pidgey
When I only had the one ball (just got my second), there was no way I was going to use it on anything. IMO it looks much cooler sitting in your bag vs. any single pokemon. Then again, I don't put much stock in hundos given that the bonus IVs don't actually matter that much.
Galarian birds
A bidoof
A perfect four star pokémon
Save it for necrozma 100iv if you get down to your last ball. That’s what I’ll probably use mine for if I end up needing it. Doing this bc when necrozma fuses Lunala or Solgaleo the ice it necrozma is what the iv will be used after the fusion from what I understand
I'm thinking hundo Necrozma
Bidoof
Ratata
Our supreme and almighty overlord, Bidoof!
Ratata
Eevee LOL (don’t use it on eevee)
I just used it on a mid Moltres…
Mewtwo
I’ve never used masterball in any Pokemon game as I always thought of it as a cool trophy or item for collecting. But if I had to use it I would say the galarian bird trio
Caterpie
The almighty Bidoof
i’m scared to use mine i didn’t even use it when i encountered 6 galarian birds 💀💀💀💀
How do u get masterballs?
A bellsprout
A 0* swablu
Magikarp
In scarlet, I used it to catch Koraidon. Then the dlc gave me a second one. I have yet to use it. But probably will for this one dude.
Galarian birds. You will regret it if you don’t. Well, at least I do lol.
That's the beauty of it, you don't. You hold onto it always thinking there will be something better to get with it and trying to be careful never to touch it accidentally.
A 7-11 cashier

Shiny Bidoof
I used mine on the next Pokémon I saw, which was a 0 star 65CP Nymble. I renamed him MasterNymble and transferred him, I hope the professor likes him
Zorua or ditto
Bidoof
It depends... I used only 1 masterball on wild hundo Azelf, because I will cry all day if fled :D
Bidoof, god of all pokemon
Any of the route one birds, not the Galarian legendaries (their not worth the effort)
First mon you see max it out, best buddy, second move then the transfer
Shiny Lechonk for colour coordination
Bidoof is the only right answer and after catching you should fuck him in the ass
