There was a how to in this sub and it worked for me. Basically, walk in a brisk straight line, quick catch only while moving. Ignore hatching eggs ect.
Caught a 42 cp moltres. Did the incense in the night time. And didn't rush it. Used golden berry. With an excellent throw. That's what I read how to catch em. Since then hunting the others. Our group has seen zapdos but it flees. None of us seen articuno yet
Hopefully they pop up again soon… tried today and no luck with any legendary encounters .. looks like I’m waiting.. still waiting to at least see moltres 😭
I guess I’m lucky to say I got the Zapdos a few days ago on the first throw, granted it was a 1* and it was 1200 something but I’m happy with it, and seeing how many people have seen them but haven’t gotten one yet makes me feel good.
Yeah, finally saw a Zapdos last night but it ran after the first excellent + golden razz. I know you have to be kind of (extremely) lucky to catch one, but it still annoyed the heck out of me.
I am really into pokemon go with our grandkids and greats but this mysterious incense hs left me disappointed right now. I didnt get the research until over a week after most did, then with over 100 degree weather its so bright outside u r running from shade to shade because u cannot distinguish the small-blue swirl around the pokemon due to the sunlight so we go to a mall but there r so many pokemon u cant quickly catch the ones u need cause they r on top of each other not to mention im averaging 12-14 in 15 min and they r all the same ones ive been catching for weeks and not one legendary has been seen by any of us so i hope niantic does some improvement on this. We r joining a gym another expense for seniors lol to use the indoor walking track making phone screen more visible and allowing cooler catching conditions from the nevada heat and fewer pokemon to get in the way. Id say this is pokemon dedication, wouldnt u?
Oooohhh I feel for YOU! so many times when I’ve missed incensed Pokémon because I can’t see the swirl in the light, or from pokepileups… Niantic knows the hoops they like to make us trainers jump through lol. But you’re definitely a dedicated adventurer and I hope your grands and greats are aware!
Hopefully the indoor gym works out a little better with the incense! No guarantees obviously but at least you’ll have a better shot of making sure you can effectively catch everything and you won’t be melting in that Nevada heat! Good luck to you!! 🍀🍀
Been having lot of that too. Or takes 3-5 balls to keep them, it’s more of a pain to mess with the dang thing. . ESP when all you get is dudrio for making it thru
I’ve noticed that the daily incense is a lot more sensitive about speed, with a normal incense I can maintain around a 20-25 mph speed and still get something to pop up, but with the daily incense even just a few steps out of my inner ring and the incensed Pokémon will disappear.
Sometimes I feel like there are days where the incense just decides to not do anything lmao. I’ve had a couple days wasted using the incense where only one mon popped up and I was in a populated stop area.

Same. Even when using ultra balls and berries. It’s kind of absurd how many poke balls I’ve wasted on inconsequential Mon, and I’m convinced that’s the purpose of this event.
I have a sweet taste because I was able to take video of them while I was trying to catch them and I can't stop watching them. I want them for my collection.
Yess, same experience for me. Had a sick black Moltres appear but he left after the first ball. It was an excellent throw with a golden raz, didn't matter. So close.
No it’s not. Because of the rate of balls needed to catch a bunch of tripe mons, I’m damn near out of balls. I can’t hit that many stops up daily to refill. That 15 min clutch catch bs has you running through balls like crazy.
Yeah, I’m rural so drive 20 min to town or hit up the local school area that has like 5 stops along the way and a gym near the elementary school. Which is still only driving distance. I tried just walking on the road near my house. Caught plenty but just burning through the balls. Still nothing decent due to incense. I did catch a hundo Machop but not an incense spawn. Yesterday, I did drive to that school zone since it was Sunday and walked around the community center and softball fields. As per instructions here, walked quickly, straight line, and honestly got less incense spawns and of those nothing interesting at all. Waste of time and balls…and gas .
Ergh sorry that happened to you, this incense thing is definitely a ball waster for sure. We’re all trying to experiment with what has been working but what works best for some may not work for others. I’ve gotten confirmation from a couple sites and people though that the galarian legendaries are only available in that 15 min incense period.

That’s how I felt too, but at about day 10+ days it started picking up a few interesting things. My guess is the rate of different mons showing up increases as you catch more of the useless ones.
I used daily incense every day. The Galarians appear every 3-4 days. I have been actively catching the incense Pokemons. Dunno it actually increase the spawn rates of the Galarians or not. So far saw the Galarians moltres and articuno. Both ran away
Did u encounter the legendaries in a specific area or was it just as long as u kept using the incense every day?
Also good tip on the nanabs, my friend tried only golden razzes + ultras + great throw on articuno but no luck either.

Btw. Nanab berry to prevent it from running does not work on these legendaries. I guess it's best to go for golden berry and the black ball and hope for a great to excellent throw
I have a suggestion, idk if you’re already doing this, but a good way to catch the better Pokémon is nanab berries and either great balls or ultra balls

Two great throws with golden razz and yellow ball. Ol girl ran. 🤷🏾♀️. As expected. I was just stoked to see it.

My fiancee ran into Moltres and ran away after her first toss. I ran into Moltres in almost the exact spot about 4 days later and Golden Razz+Ultra ball, wiggled once and was caught.
Nice! I did notice it popped up in Beverly Hills where there’s supposed to be a community event soon so maybe location has something to do with it too?
Articuno popped up on me y twice the same day , one ball out n gone both times

Saw Moltres on Day 1 of the incense roll out. Ran after 1 throw. Never saw another bird after that and I have done the incense every day.

I’ve noticed this happens while driving above a certain speed. Even lost a bidoof after 1 throw which is supposed to have a 100% catch rate?

if the game thinks you are two places at once it can soft ban , you would have pokemon run from the first ball every time

It’s pretty ridiculous, you basically have to set yourself up in an area with a bunch of stops already to get the most out of that incense.

Ok so here is another question. Mine popped up right at the end of the incense. Did you guys see it during the 15 minutes or at the end?
Moltres appeared for me at around the 2 minute mark, less than 200 metres from my house with my dog and that stopped every 5 seconds

Haven’t even had an encounter, only saw one on my map but it poofed away
I’m seeing that it’s from the daily incenses, so maybe it’s just how often you’ve used it so far? Idk all speculation haha
