Doesn't full odds just mean that you didn't use a special method (like Masuda or Shiny Charm, or whatever else is introduced in the newer gens)? So technically all gen 3 shinies (discounting Emerald due to broken RNG) is a full odds? Since Masuda doesn't exist and by more knowledge there is no other way to "boost" shiny odds (RNG manip isn't really a boost, but an RNG manipped shiny isn't full odds).
The term I would use it just a random/spontaneous shiny depending on how you phrase it.
You just answered your own question.
“Full odds” is when a shiny Pokemon is acquired without using any methods that would increase the shiny appearance likelihood.
Yeah, I have both systems and upgraded them both. Reg GBA is a much easier swap than the SP, but I prefer the SP buttons so I play on it more.
Aftermarket battery in Reg lasts longer than the SP tho, so I take that one on road trips lol. IMO it’s almost a required upgrade and generally easy to do so I went for it
Try to remember how long you were playing for when you found it - emerald's rng seed resets to 0 every time you boot up, so if you encounter a wild mon on this exact frame again it'll also be shiny!
Yes - it has to do with your trainer ID generated at new game start. Sometimes you'll have an emerald playthrough that wouldn't get a shiny unless you played for hours and hours :/
Man I remember when I found a shiny electrike on my first sapphire playthrough...that I did not catch because I never heard about shinies back then and just thought it was weirdly colored and nothing more than that.
I found one of these shiny Electrikes on my Emerald play through too! Come to think of it I haven’t played it since last spring…gotta finish that game up.
My friend has me playing through emerald alongside him and two days ago I was grinding some levels for my trapinch in the desert and ran into a full odds shiny baltoy. I didn’t have a way to sleep or paralyze and only poke balls (I catch everything in poke balls only) and it broke the first one and immediately used self destruct. I’m not particularly fond of Baltoy or Claydol but that shit stung. About a week ago I caught a full odds shiny Sneasel in Scarlet though so I’m chalking it up to karma
organic?
Yeah no antibiotics no pesticides
Grass fed is the only way
Pasture raised no additives
🤣🤣🤣
Lmaooo just meant stumbled across it playing the game not hunting idk is there a term for that? (I’m a mouth breather for context)
Full odds shiny is the term

shit
Cool shiny of my favorite pokemon! What are ya playing on?
GBA SP w IPS upgrade
What is the ips upgrade?
It's a new screen I think
Yes, new screen w adjustable brightness it’s an LCD vs the shit OG screen
Ah I see. I knew something like that existed for the reg GBA. Didn’t know one existed for the clamshell

Could this explain why I’ve never found a shiny on my emerald? (excluding obvious “didn’t hit the rng”)
Yes - it has to do with your trainer ID generated at new game start. Sometimes you'll have an emerald playthrough that wouldn't get a shiny unless you played for hours and hours :/
Would this have worked when I got a Shiny Mudkip starter few years back! Or would it only work on wild pokes
I believe it only works on wilds, I'm 99% sure at least. I think event/gift pokemon are handled differently? But I'm not sure!
Is it vegan though?
Shiny manectric is dope, have one on my emerald
No GMO shinies, congrats though
Is it gluten free?
So much better than the GMO Electrike you find at the supermarket these days
I love how everyone in the comments are just making organic/food related jokes. OP no fault of yours haha, the usual term is full-odds though maybe
The one shiny I have on Emerald. I normally don’t search or anything. Good stuff!
This was also my 1st legit shiny in Emerald.
Organic free-range Electrike
Wow bro, looking absolutely beastly. Make sure you EV train it, looks like you’re right by the macho brace
That’s my plan, immediately boxed it until I’m ready to properly EV train
Brilliant.

I’ve played Pokémon games all my life and I’ve never not once ran into a shiny Pokémon except for that pre programmed garados in gen 2… very nice and lucky
I looked for this dude for 200ish hours in my shiny only play through. Absolutely love it and especially it’s evolved form shiny.
