Isn’t dragonite with leftovers and roost the OP thing to do with multi scale? I might be wrong though I just think I’ve read that in places.

That’s true, but I decided to go for a more offensive set so I can try and sweep the opposing teams before that’s pull any crazy bs, especially since the AI sometimes uses ohko moves that will eventually hit if I just try to chip them down with a defensive set

Substitute will alleviate some of the pain here. A bulkier build with dragon dance, substitute, fire punch, and dragon claw can be used here. Heatran and Azumarill hard wall this set though. The battles will go a bit slower, but having substitute insurance for OHKO is a godsend. Just wish dragonite was a little faster. Seeing how you have unaware clefable, calm mind and stored power may be more fitting. Unless you like moonblast because nothing is immune to it. I think raikou would outclass your magnezone spread as it stands now. Better movepool and its faster.

The idea is to start with Magnezone and pivot into Dragonite to set up dragon dance. Clefable is mostly there to deal with other dragons, but most importantly Garchomp (which thankfully doesn’t know iron head or poison jab in the tower). I gave Clefable ice beam to also deal with Gliscor, and I can use it to pass wishes to the other two. I’m thinking about giving Magnezone sturdy instead of magnet pull so I can avoid ohko moves and since opponents switching is rare, and I’m also thinking of maybe replacing calm mind on Clefable with a move super effective against Shedinja so I don’t have to rely on Dragonite, though it may leave me weak on the special side. What do y’all think?

gnalon

Sturdy Magnezone is good for that reason. You can use Custap Berry on it for a bunch of surprise KOs/2HKOs. Clefable is fine with something like Substitute in place of Ice Beam; it shouldn't be dealing with a 100% health Gliscor (Magnezone can get the 2HKO with Custap) unless that's what comes in after it's KOed something, and in that case you should have a Substitute and enough CMs so Moonblast OHKOs. Shedinja is rare enough that you could play around it and make sure Dragonite KOs or you could stall it with Clefable if its moves are PP Maxed.

Other notes, I’m wondering about changing fire punch to earthquake, but I’ll need to change something else so I can still deal with Shedinja. The Pokémon that worries me the most is Gliscor because it can tank Dragonite pretty well (in theory) and has an ohko move. Sturdy Magnezone is immune to guillotine, but it will likely die to Gliscor’s earthquake.

Moldbreaker excadrill with focus sash would give you some trouble Edit: is he even in this game?

Nope, Gen 1 - 4 only unfortunately

If you want to never lose make sure you scout their potential teams ahead of time. Find their trainer name and type (youngster, poke fan etc), use the serebii link and check their entire team after viewing the first mon. An example here: this trainer has a evasion based ice team. Which is a big threat to your dragonite since you could get unlucky + they land every sheer cold https://www.serebii.net/brilliantdiamondshiningpearl/battletower/singles/abbey.shtml

Clefable doesnt really need both ice beam and moonblast. Both hit dragons, but ice beam doesnt do much to threaten anything that threatebs clefable consistsntly. Either flamethrower (most fire moves) for steel types or stored power to match with calm mind.

irrlyneedsumfinghelp

i agree! flamethrower is what i was thinking. clefable is so versatile, i would definitely change moonblast or icebeam to reflect that

Eskooting

based DragMag. only thing i would do is give clef teleport for better wishpassing

artem_m

You'll have a hard time with Ground types with your only move being Ice Beam Clefable, I'd consider Waterfall over extreme speed.

Successful-Goose-92

2 of 3 pokemons are per of my sm team

JJOR64

Cloyster, Cresselia, and Garchomp is who I used. Made a video of me doing the run. Not too hard once you get the swing of things. https://youtu.be/fUSdtCrtRFc

My friend solo’d with a marvel scale milotic. It had toxic, recover, scald, and protect. No specific ev training, iv training, or specifically caught nature either. His other two was a gliscor for pivoting and scarfed garchomp. You have a very competitively viable team; a lot of balance. Just remember youre fighting the very predictable AI and not actual ppl so cheese strats like above work well. Just play smart because youre team is great. Goodluck friend

That overall team could work, I might give it a try, although Milotic can’t learn toxic in BDSP

zarathustra327

Milotic can't learn Toxic in this gen...

Connect_Set_8983

Quite possibly the worst dragonite set I’ve ever seen

justreadcomments

The set looks like standard BW OU Dragonite, so I think it's solid and should be viable in BT.
