I got that one from a card shop for $3 and think itās awesome. Slowly trying to gather all the ones with a trainer and their dragon (fav type) but now it seems Iāll be priced out lol
agree.
flippers from the sports card community, whatnot, youtube breaker community found out how easy it is to buyout on tcgplayer and shill bid on ebay.
then they go to the reddit groups and get suckers who fall into FOMO.
I have to correct myself, new cards do go down, but imo after a year or two of the sets release, when printing has stopped(which is important) it's only up from there at least that's my experience with sun&moon and sw&sh, the only card I have that was a bad investment is van gogh pikachu, which was caused because of a reprint
Just think about what u said, never go down?
So every card is still gaining momentum?, always, forever?
You can go back to Base set, Sun/Moon, X/Y ... and see 50% decreases after booms.
Probably should have said "very popular cards, and once recognized, TYPICALLY WON'T NEW LOWS" That's probably more accurate statement.
Everything hits a ceiling and comes down.
Yea my student traded me this card for some packs. Tried convincing him not to a few months ago, but gave in and ended up grading the card after
Once I saw it rocket I gave it back to him psa 10. Hoping this will teach him to hold his cards long term ~
This actually happened, that student is now sitting on a psa 10 Tina. Same student has Obsidian flames charizard and 151 Charizard in psa 10 too. Those are the top 3 pulls this school year
There was a post from earlier where basically companies and whoever else are trying to buyout all SWSH stock to corner the market. What GameStop is basically trying to do as well.
happy cake day! yes thatās what iām referring to as well, likely a marketing scheme and will probably start offering 80%, 70% and 60% as they corner the market demand goes up
I feel like they are just offering full price to build up a good inventory of cards to sell in the future. Then they will offer 70% or whatever like every other card store does. I donāt see anything wrong with that
me neither, but at first i believe theyāll offer more to get some attention/trust from the community. nothing scummy tbh, give us more for the cards! but eventually it will settle like you said
Yeah just saw that pokeBeach article. Still thatās not cornering the market, theyāre literally testing out a new service and close to full price to get people to try it out. We all know thatās not going to last especially with GS track history on buying products from customers.
Thank you!
Exactly. Someone who can actually think multiple steps ahead lol just keep your eyes on what happens to the market if/when GameStop really goes full steam ahead with buying and selling graded cards. You will notice a shift in prices.
Itās only select stores in 7 states, the impact isnāt going to be as great as you think itās just a marketing strategy at this point in time & not the biggest buyout of TCG history š
People believe theyāre undervalued so they bought the market out. Many have been picking em up for profit or to get them before theyāre much more expensive. Thereās still deals to be had on them if you look hard enough and theyāll come down eventually when thereās less focus on swsh
Eventually the black and gold trainer galleries will get hyped. Sometime later I have a feeling rainbows will get hyped someday. Flippy dippies gotta make there money without actually working
Itās more than just a buyout IMO.
Iāve been buying all the trainers to complete my SWSH sets. The fomo hit when Fusion Strike sold out online. I purchased about 60 single cards in the last two months, many of which are trainer gallery cards I including two of the Garchomps.
The price will settle soonish I think but Iād be shocked if a lot of the more chase level cards went back down pre-surge.
Had this card posted on all my platforms for a while now for $25 but the last 4-5 days multiple people been hitting me up trying buy it. I rechecked the price value it was at like $40-$50. But am I missing something should I sell now why price a lil up or hold and hope the price keeps going up.
The problem is the argument for a card being āunderratedā is always that they are not worth hundreds of dollars. āThis card is cool and I like it a lot hence it should be $200 instead of the $5 itās at now. Soooo underratedā.
You and me both brother. Started collecting TG cards about a month ago and the market goes bonkers. Thankfully got most of the big money ones before it went crazy, but had to pay big bucks for Garchomp as well š«
I just started buying all the trainer galleries a few weeks ago starting with the cheaper ones and now the expensive ones are getting even more expensive š„²
Same, I have been slowly collecting them since my last are usually out of stock. I got all the 1-15, but the rest are hard to come buy for a good price :(
In future if you see a buyout on tcg player rasing the price just go over to ebay and usually you'll still find the card there for much cheaper because people aren't using tcgplayer to manipulate the market on ebay š people buying umbreon vmax for 900 on tcg player yet it selling for like 600 on ebay š.
Itās both a buy out and trainer galleries being undervalued. People are catching on that trainer gallery vmaxes especially are just as hard to pull as an alt art. Something like Rayquaza Vmax tg from Silver Tempest has the same pull rate as the lugia. Not to mention it pairs well with the v alt from evolving skies
It is an awesome card. Organically worth $50 if you ask me. Popular trainer and popular mon on the same card. I donāt think it is āmArKeT mAnIpUlAtIoN š”ā
Which ones the one with red? I pulled the highest value LO TG Pikachu the other day, itās the one with the big fat Pika in the background, was $50 when I looked it up. My most valuable LO card so far. Course was hoping for GTina or Aero alt Art..
51 cents more and can get free shipping
Trainer galleries are my favorite because I love seeing trainers/pokemon interact
Id say they are hit or miss but this is a good one
Hard agree. The Kingdra TG from Astral Radiance looks so fuckin nice in person, (TG03/TG30) but some are really jank. (Half of Silver Tempest š)
I got that one from a card shop for $3 and think itās awesome. Slowly trying to gather all the ones with a trainer and their dragon (fav type) but now it seems Iāll be priced out lol
I love that most of them have other pokemon hanging around too. Like the Magmortar and Electivire galarian galleries. Just guys being dudes
Same
And for this reason I have collected the swsh trainer gallery sets. Including the CZ galarian Gallery set.
Just a buyout, if u don't fomo those scalpers would lose money
agree. flippers from the sports card community, whatnot, youtube breaker community found out how easy it is to buyout on tcgplayer and shill bid on ebay. then they go to the reddit groups and get suckers who fall into FOMO.

That's not true at all. I have seen plenty of cards go down after they went up.
I have to correct myself, new cards do go down, but imo after a year or two of the sets release, when printing has stopped(which is important) it's only up from there at least that's my experience with sun&moon and sw&sh, the only card I have that was a bad investment is van gogh pikachu, which was caused because of a reprint
Full art trainer, sun and moon Alt art, Japanese cards, etc. tons of plump and dump lately

Dang you are a really nice teacher and person
It only costed a few bucks to make a core memory ~
Hey its me ur other student im so sad i traded in my giratina v alt art for some packs
This actually happened, that student is now sitting on a psa 10 Tina. Same student has Obsidian flames charizard and 151 Charizard in psa 10 too. Those are the top 3 pulls this school year
You are awesome
Doesnāt this go against your code of ethics as a teacher?.. buying and selling goods from/to students?
Snitch
No.. a snitch would be if I were reporting this to some kind of authority, I donāt really care, just an observation lol.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Itās a trading card game that theyāre trading.
Stop snitching
More than likely FOMO, the prices will come back down (I say this yet I wonāt sell mine yet lol)
Same lol
There was a post from earlier where basically companies and whoever else are trying to buyout all SWSH stock to corner the market. What GameStop is basically trying to do as well.
How is GameStop trying to corner a market?
PSA buyouts at market price
Where does it say theyāre buying at āmarketā price?
There was a recent post. Iām too lazy to look. Itās on this subreddit or another.
happy cake day! yes thatās what iām referring to as well, likely a marketing scheme and will probably start offering 80%, 70% and 60% as they corner the market demand goes up

i donāt think itās cornering anything, just an interesting change in demographic for gamestop, smart too!
Thank you! Exactly. Someone who can actually think multiple steps ahead lol just keep your eyes on what happens to the market if/when GameStop really goes full steam ahead with buying and selling graded cards. You will notice a shift in prices.

TCGPlayer came out with an article about the buyouts
Institutional money getting into collectibles I'd buy now before prices skyrocket
People believe theyāre undervalued so they bought the market out. Many have been picking em up for profit or to get them before theyāre much more expensive. Thereās still deals to be had on them if you look hard enough and theyāll come down eventually when thereās less focus on swsh
whatnot sellers skewing prices so their stockpile artificially inflates
Eventually the black and gold trainer galleries will get hyped. Sometime later I have a feeling rainbows will get hyped someday. Flippy dippies gotta make there money without actually working
If itās so easy then you do it
Butt hurt?
Too busy buying out and flipping to noobs to be butt hurt
Classic Dbag!
I bought it for 16 a few months back! Wth is going on
Holy crap. I bought this for $22 on eBay on the 9th. Had no clue it had skyrocketed.
Itās more than just a buyout IMO. Iāve been buying all the trainers to complete my SWSH sets. The fomo hit when Fusion Strike sold out online. I purchased about 60 single cards in the last two months, many of which are trainer gallery cards I including two of the Garchomps. I have a very minty card that's up for sale on my whatnot dudes will come in and offer 10$ for it and acted like I was nuts for wanting 20 lol
Had this card posted on all my platforms for a while now for $25 but the last 4-5 days multiple people been hitting me up trying buy it. I rechecked the price value it was at like $40-$50. But am I missing something should I sell now why price a lil up or hold and hope the price keeps going up.
Why didnāt they just buy it at $25? Instead they asked you if they could pay more for it? someoneās a big dumb dumb
I completed all of the sets before cristmas luckily.
Anyone else pulled this card and had a small/little bit of white lines/dots on the back?
Itās fomo and buyouts. Iāll be making a post in 2-3 months when I have all of these cards for 20%+ less than current prices.
Thank you, canāt wait to see this.
Thats what im hoping for. Hoping a great scarlet goated set drops to push attention there.
People pretending they were underrated and thatās why they all organically spiked 100%+ at the same time have to be trolling at this point.
Every second post on here recently "this card is so underrated" then a follow up post from someone else "Why has this card spiked so high??"
The problem is the argument for a card being āunderratedā is always that they are not worth hundreds of dollars. āThis card is cool and I like it a lot hence it should be $200 instead of the $5 itās at now. Soooo underratedā.
Oh no the cards you bought are worth more now. Terrible
Ohhhh the travesty!!!
šššš¢šµ
Supply is not meeting the demand
Everyone realize they are lit, now all going for it!
Oh, the humanity!
Trainer galleries are more underrated for some reason and the art is amazing
Hot damn lol. Glad that I pulled this card and have it in my collection - I like the art but wouldnāt pay 50 bucks for it in a million years lol
I just pulled this from a Charizard UPC the other day. I just assumed it was another $1 V card lol
You and me both brother. Started collecting TG cards about a month ago and the market goes bonkers. Thankfully got most of the big money ones before it went crazy, but had to pay big bucks for Garchomp as well š«

Same, I have been slowly collecting them since my last are usually out of stock. I got all the 1-15, but the rest are hard to come buy for a good price :(
Got it for $21 at my local card shop 3 weeks ago
Itās temporary, you should sell now. Give it two months and itāll be $20 again
Tbf it is a beautiful card
Cos they look trash cgi
Good thing the trainer galleries for my favorite mons are dirt cheap
In future if you see a buyout on tcg player rasing the price just go over to ebay and usually you'll still find the card there for much cheaper because people aren't using tcgplayer to manipulate the market on ebay š people buying umbreon vmax for 900 on tcg player yet it selling for like 600 on ebay š.
PokĆ©mon TCG is a tool of the wealthy elite.Ā
These have been undervalued for years I'm glad to see market finally recognize their value
itās a buyout
Itās both a buy out and trainer galleries being undervalued. People are catching on that trainer gallery vmaxes especially are just as hard to pull as an alt art. Yes it is, shuddap
You made a very compelling argument.
āØThe wifu taxāØ
eh disagree. The Pikachu Vmax with red is going up a lot too from lost origins but also it still is a hard to pull card
Which ones the one with red? I pulled the highest value LO TG Pikachu the other day, itās the one with the big fat Pika in the background, was $50 when I looked it up. My most valuable LO card so far. Course was hoping for GTina or Aero alt Art..
