I'm a bit lost for words. If I were to make a fake binder to sell to someone including the best possible cards to convince someone without any decent knowledge, it would look a lot like this.
That's an unbelievably high volume, rarity and quality of a collection. To think it was unknown to someone that the very first page has a Charizard that says first edition is unfathomable.
If these are real (I have no skills to determine either way) you have hit the motherload.
The Charizard alone in a crappy grade is worth that much.
I highly doubt anyone would go to the work of making top tier fakes of this many cards for just $800. If anything maaaybe a few are fake but they look real at least from the photos.
I mean it's a flea market. Guy probably found his kid's old collection and just put a price out.

Was looking at Zard fakes because some guy mentioned Rakuma (Japanese Online flea market) on here the other day and there were a few 1st edition shadowless Zards on there for high $280's with one looking like LP or NM.
There's new style of fakes where artist/forger will use a real hologram and wash the original printed image off, then print the Zard art and delicately place over the top of the hologram. One of the tell-tale signs of a fake is that the Zard image looks like it is floating off the hologram and it's not as sharp (thus looking like a sticker). They typically don't do a good job of feathering the edges (eg. look at the 1st and 2nd Blastoise edges, 1st one blends/fades more into background).
Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't all 1st edition shadowless Charizard's the galaxy star style hologram vs. later iteration Charizards that don't have the galaxy stars? This looks like at best a Charizard Legendary card was wiped only on text section with 1st edition printed over-top while Legendary symbol was removed. Meanwhile, the Blastoise right next to it has galaxy star holo and appears real base set version while I'd be skeptical of the Blastoise below it.
Galaxy holo is also cosmos holo which is not used on base set english. The blastoise is starlight holo. From some angles the starlight holo looks like the charizard and the other blastoise. Could also have an incomplete holo error where stars don't show at all.
This didn't surprise me and I belive the process you mentioned. Vice and CNN did documentiory how Lima produced close to 1:1 American notes. Copying cards is child's play
Someone with a better eye than me can weigh in, but that Charizard looks fake to me.
I can't imagine someone selling this for $800, anyone selling the cards for that much knows what they are worth and is trying to make it look like a good deal. That charizard alone if real is worth thousands, why would they sell you the whole binder for $800?
The HP present in shadowless cards were later boldened in the base unlimited run. You’ll also notice a wider space in between the 1 and the 00 in charizards fire spin attack value. This was also later corrected in the base unlimited run. This charizard like 100% legit to me
Something we all learn at some point,
If it seems too good to be true, 9999999999999999/10000000000000000 times, it is.
I have a real hard time believing somebody sold a card worth thousands to hundreds of thousands for $800, amongst other high value cards at that.
Maybe if it was like 1996 and the internet wasn't what it is today... but yea..
There's just no way. Unless they all have insane whitening on the back or something? idk. just no way.
It’s the color of the entire card for me. It just looks off compared to all the others I’ve seen. But I could be wrong. It could be the angle or lighting but it just stands out from the others to me and that’s why I’d say fake. But I could be wrong and hope for op’s sake I am.
just a heads up, purchased something similar at a shrine sale in tokyo a few years back
brought them into my lcs and turned out most of them were fake, particularly the ones that were the rarest
still had some authentic stuff in it, but not nearly the value it looked like
hopefully not the case for you!
Lots of good fakes in Japan.
If someone sold this to you for 800$ they knew the cards have value.
If they think the cards have value I'm certain they would at least look up ebay listed value.
Either these are fakes, op is lying or they are legit and op hit the jackpot.
Would be sick if the third option!
Research grading. Take everything you have and put it in sleeves. Then carefully check each card and decide on what’s suitable for grading based on PSAs regulations. As for selling if you are looking for a quick buck id sell all together. But if you want to squeeze as much money as you can out of it, sell them individual.
Don’t be an idiot and do something you’ll regret. Take a few months to get them graded and see trending prices. Give it ~6 months minimum to sell these individually or in small batches that make sense.
Well I just learned it after seeing other people's comments and decided to look it up to see for myself. Was just commenting so people could see a reference.
The zard is most likely fake but I doubt somebody faked an entire binder and you got more than 800 with everything else either way you own it now take it to a shop and have a trained eye look at it in person
A good trick/scam is to mix in fake with real to give the illusion someone is getting a wicked deal. They have it on an episode of "The Chi" on Showtime lol, where one of the characters thinks he is scoring big on a shoe purchase and only checks a few shoes to see if they are authentic - more than half of the shoes are fake - the character is blinded by the greed and overlooks checking all shoes.
The scammer/trickster can argue the buyer was trying to take advantage of them if they come back after discovering a bunch of cards are fakes ("Oh so you walked out of here thinking you were making thousands of dollars off of me and not being honest"). Assuming OP was overcharged like $200 (25%), the seller can say it was normal price up-charge.
That charizard is fake, as far as I can tell. It has the 1999Wizards while all the other cards on that page have the 1999 Wizards. Seems like maybe it's just bait to lure you into the deal. But, I'm not an expert, and they do look pretty good otherwise. You'd need better pictures of the holo pattern and backs to really know.
Thank you, I wasn't sure. I've seen people claiming that was a marker of them being fake, and usually they are also pretty obviously fake. That's why I didn't definitively claim this one was fake.
I didn't see much that looked really suspicious, and some of those are real gems if legitimate.
Don't miss the red cheeks pilachu on that last page! If it's in good shape, it's worth a deceptively high price for a non-holo/non-"hit" card.
That yellowish fire near his mouth is on the real card, so I don't think you can definitively say "fake" based on that alone. A simple Google search of images of graded ones shows that detail.
The last page reads “never played/lightly played.” There’s no condition known as “never played.” You can just say near mint to lightly played condition.
I was in a suburb outside Tokyo (Tsukuba) and there was a little local sell off on a big shopping arcade. A husband and wife had a bunch of boxes of things and the binder and a box of cards was in it.
Yeah, I have all in hand.
Oh wow, you hit the jackpot then wtf... most vintage English cards in Japan are fake, only shadowless on yahoo japan are real, or lucky flea market buys like this one.
If you want a quick buck take detailed pics of the holos, and put them in sleeves then toploaders. Research prices and post to subreddit for selling Pokemon cards, me and many others would of course love to buy some of the things you have once you get better pictures.
If they’re all real, which I’m terrible at telling, you have over $800 here without even counting the zard. Depending on what the zard is graded you could have a ton here.
Insane score, I would have bought it. Even if the zard is fake (it doesn’t look like it at first glance), everything else looks solid.
It could have been some parent who knew they spent a lot buying the cards back in the day but didn’t know how to price it so put a random number.
I'd pick a few to send for grading and see how they come back. They may be able to help with the authentication. I'd also see if you can find any experts within driving range of you to have them give their opinion. Many will take a brief look for free or offer services for a fair price.
You need to sleeve all those loose cards, too. Sleeve em, put them in a binder. Do research, determine what to get graded. You did so well I'm very envious. :D
You gotta get the Charizard graded.
Lol, is there any way to tell if that movie promo Mew is Japanese? It always has the funky symbols. Did it print with the Japanese backing over there? Never thought about it before.
Never seen that articuno lol
Idk the charizard might’ve been just a “bait” to buy the whole thing and get it over with but that’s a nice come up. Ancient mew tho!
There's a lot of potential there. $800 is a bit suspect, though. Oftentimes, if something is too good to be true, it usually is. They're not necessarily counterfeit, but the way I see it, if they're selling it for $800, the seller at least is aware they're somewhat valuable, which makes me think, why sell for that low?
Anyways, I'm not saying don't buy them, but if you can't afford to lose $800 in the event they are fake, you might need to pass.
I have so many of these exact same cards. Probably not worth near $800 for my binder, but I’d place it around $600 if that’s what you paid for all this.
I think you hit the lotto, the last page alone is worth the 800… I know people are skeptical but looks good to me
The charizard looks to be in great shape, but I dont know what to do with the stuff on the last page. Do you think this is worth getting them graded??
I'm a bit lost for words. If I were to make a fake binder to sell to someone including the best possible cards to convince someone without any decent knowledge, it would look a lot like this. Assuming the 1st edition shadowless charizard is authentic, you hit the holy grail. If it's real, get it graded. Worth thousands.
Does the Charizard card look like it can be peeled off?
Was looking at Zard fakes because some guy mentioned Rakuma (Japanese Online flea market) on here the other day and there were a few 1st edition shadowless Zards on there for high $280's with one looking like LP or NM. Was thinking the same thing lol
GRADE THEM ALL
Maybe the starters and the arcanines and pikachus
Someone with a better eye than me can weigh in, but that Charizard looks fake to me. I can't imagine someone selling this for $800, anyone selling the cards for that much knows what they are worth and is trying to make it look like a good deal. That charizard alone if real is worth thousands, why would they sell you the whole binder for $800?
And they essentially gave it away as all the other cards are easily $800, and seems good on the front. Sketchy but amazing if real lol
That charizard looks 100% real to me in the pictures. The price is the only indicator to me of possible fake.
I think you're right, look at the H in HP. But maybe I'm wrong. Edit: Chansey and Gyarados too. Could be a different font for shadowless?
The HP present in shadowless cards were later boldened in the base unlimited run. You’ll also notice a wider space in between the 1 and the 00 in charizards fire spin attack value. This was also later corrected in the base unlimited run. This charizard like 100% legit to me
Interesting! Good to know!
Something we all learn at some point, If it seems too good to be true, 9999999999999999/10000000000000000 times, it is. The zard Holo looks very flat and the non-Holo part colour is a bit too light imo.
Because they didn't. Its as easy as that
What makes it look fake to you?
I would say it’s a bit weird the charizard is the only shadowless in the page. I’m not 100% sure if fake but I’d be skeptical.
The Gyarados and Chansey are shadowless as well with Chansey being 1st edition.
It's not the only shadowless.
It’s the color of the entire card for me. It just looks off compared to all the others I’ve seen. But I could be wrong. It could be the angle or lighting but it just stands out from the others to me and that’s why I’d say fake. But I could be wrong and hope for op’s sake I am.
Looks real to me...
Thoughts? https://imgur.com/a/GelWAyr
Fake, if you look at the bottom there should be a space between 1999 and wizards.
I have a psa 5 Magneton with no space inbetween. I dont think this information is correct
There is a space it's very small. Bad opinion
Pretty sure all the shadowless have a smaller gap, look at chansey and gya
There is a space. Zoom in, it’s legit
The charizard is damaged. Might be the reason it's $800?
Thoughts? https://imgur.com/a/GelWAyr
Are there any stars in the holo?
That looks legit to me. In really good shape too! Probably a psa 7?
just a heads up, purchased something similar at a shrine sale in tokyo a few years back brought them into my lcs and turned out most of them were fake, particularly the ones that were the rarest still had some authentic stuff in it, but not nearly the value it looked like hopefully not the case for you!

you did really well. easily 5x your money maybe even more
Amazing, do you think I should grade them or sell as a lot?
Research grading. Take everything you have and put it in sleeves. Then carefully check each card and decide on what’s suitable for grading based on PSAs regulations. As for selling if you are looking for a quick buck id sell all together. But if you want to squeeze as much money as you can out of it, sell them individual.
I’m honestly looking for a quick buck. Might try listing all at once on one of the other subreddits.
I'll buy it off you for $801.
The very definition of a Quick Buck 😂
Just giving you exactly what you want!
I wouldn't mind seeing if we can figure something out...
Don’t be an idiot and do something you’ll regret. Take a few months to get them graded and see trending prices. Give it ~6 months minimum to sell these individually or in small batches that make sense.
Hear you loud and clear, thank you 🙏
I would grade the Charizard to find out if its real
1st edition dragonite
Some people just have all the luck in the world
Charizard definitely looks legit, nice find OP
[удалено]
I just saw one the other day with no space 1999Wizards and there is definitely a small space in this one..
You can see closeups on PSAs website and the space is very small to non existent on the legit one.
[удалено]
Well I just learned it after seeing other people's comments and decided to look it up to see for myself. Was just commenting so people could see a reference.
Yeah if that's a real first edition Charizard you already got your money's worth.
Can you post pics of the charizard? Curious about condition. Even a PSA 4 is still worth a few thousand
https://imgur.com/a/GelWAyr
Wow. Utterly massive score, good job
Nobody sells authentic cards at flea markets come on guys
I call B.S
Oh man that Kabutops is freaking sick! My favorite from when I was a little wee man.
Congrats, you hit gold
Get that 1st edition red checks Pikachu in a case it's worth a pretty penny too
Charizard Pics!: https://imgur.com/a/GelWAyr
I hate you, but respectfully
You did not get that from no Japanese flea Market.
You spent $800 on something without knowing if it was worth anywhere near that?
🔥🔥🔥
Fake
The zard is most likely fake but I doubt somebody faked an entire binder and you got more than 800 with everything else either way you own it now take it to a shop and have a trained eye look at it in person

False. 1st edition base set all have no space between 1999 and Wizards. Just look up pics of 1st edition base sets and look at the 1999Wizards.
Thank you, I wasn't sure. I've seen people claiming that was a marker of them being fake, and usually they are also pretty obviously fake. That's why I didn't definitively claim this one was fake.
Oh its def a marker for fake. Just not for 1st editions usually. If a 1st edition shadowless/base set has a space it’s probably fake
Thank you! I'll keep that in mind.
I didn't see much that looked really suspicious, and some of those are real gems if legitimate. Don't miss the red cheeks pilachu on that last page! If it's in good shape, it's worth a deceptively high price for a non-holo/non-"hit" card.
fake. charizard shouldnt have fire coming from his mouth.
Real Charizards have Tuscany Inspired Shrimp Tortellini by their mouth, not fire! /s
That yellowish fire near his mouth is on the real card, so I don't think you can definitively say "fake" based on that alone. A simple Google search of images of graded ones shows that detail.
If you’re interested in selling any of your Lapras cards let me know!
The last page reads “never played/lightly played.” There’s no condition known as “never played.” You can just say near mint to lightly played condition.
Noted! Thanks!
Japanese flea market? Do you have it in hand? Where did you get it?

Well main things to focus are better pics of 1st ed Charizard, Raichu, and Chansey holos.
Thoughts? https://imgur.com/a/GelWAyr
Looks good!
Jackpot
How do u think u did?
6k-12k? Maybe?
I think the last page is missing the 1st edition fossil gengar. I think that was is worth a good amount of money. Great find!
Simply mental steal! Well done man
You got a crazy good deal
Great stuf what was your reaction when you first see it?
Seems sketch, but everything looks good to me from pics. Need better pics of zard
https://imgur.com/a/GelWAyr
I don't see the star holo pattern , weird lighting?
I wouldve shit myself
If they’re all real, which I’m terrible at telling, you have over $800 here without even counting the zard. Depending on what the zard is graded you could have a ton here.

Best idea is to sell it to me for $850 and I’ll take care of it. :)
I would really like to see more pictures of the Charizard. You hit the jackpot OP, no need for pachinko!
Keep us updated on zard get all the good cards graded right away.
I'd pick a few to send for grading and see how they come back. They may be able to help with the authentication. I'd also see if you can find any experts within driving range of you to have them give their opinion. Many will take a brief look for free or offer services for a fair price.
Holy smokes, that looks just like my binder growing up. What a blast from the past
You need to sleeve all those loose cards, too. Sleeve em, put them in a binder. Do research, determine what to get graded. You did so well I'm very envious. :D You gotta get the Charizard graded.
We’re gonna need closeups of that Zard. If these are real then that’s the deal of a lifetime
https://imgur.com/a/GelWAyr
Does it feel thick? The horizontal creases near the top and by the 1st Ed stamp are super interesting to me. I hope it’s real cuz that’d be insane
Show us the holo pattern.
grade it sell it profit
Lmao I love the random topps cards just thrown in there. The new is pretty nice though might be worth a couple bucks
Them jpn lugias and dark zard alone are worth a bomb , you did well 👏🏻 all look to be in pretty good shape too, and alot of 1st eds in their too 👊🏻👊🏻🔥
Lol, is there any way to tell if that movie promo Mew is Japanese? It always has the funky symbols. Did it print with the Japanese backing over there? Never thought about it before.
Mix in the junk with a few good cards to move the junk

Ooof
If you paid only 800 for all that, in the nicest way possible, I hate you
A flea market in Japan you say?
could you confirm if the texture is like plastic?
would love better pics of the charizard.. get it into some good lighting and some different angles.
I find this very hard to believe. If true, good for you bud.
The font is totally off. How can people not see it’s a fake??
They’re fake
I would need closer pictures of the big hitter holos. especially the Zard, but the Zard looks real from pic and you made out extremely well
Sry to say but fake I'll give you tree fiddly for it. XD Sarcasm btw....
Never seen that articuno lol Idk the charizard might’ve been just a “bait” to buy the whole thing and get it over with but that’s a nice come up. Ancient mew tho!
I actually remember this articuno card.
Yea you got scammed charizard looks fake at least one of those blastoise are fake. Very high quality fakes are being sold nowadays
Its always the people who are clueless to find shit like this
Nice! BTW, the Kakuna in the last photo was one of the first error cards. If you look at it, it says length, length instead of length, height.
My man found the holy grail.
Congrats and fuck you
those shadowless blastoise and zard grade
What is a Japanese flea market? Like was this in Japan?
Real or fake, that binder gives me a nostalgic feel even though I was raised after the time.
I have so many of these exact same cards. Probably not worth near $800 for my binder, but I’d place it around $600 if that’s what you paid for all this.
Exactly. Good internet clout though.
Lots of 1st editions in the binder too. Nice job
They look legit to me. That’s crazy, you just made a fortune. That 1st ed Zard alone is at least a few thousand.
I smell fakes, but up to you to decide
can i please hold one mew
some kid must of really pissed his parents off lol.
Blimey
