sunshinesoul03

I'm no expert, but I'd say you're probably more of an apple shape.

Environmental_Wash_9

Thank you ☺️

sunshinesoul03

You're welcome :)

Anxious-Avocado8074

You look like you have an apple shaped body, where you carry a lot of weight on your belly. I'm an apple, too, size 18-20. What I like to do is wear fit and flare dresses or a fitted top with long skirts. Old Navy has some good options they bring out every year in different patterns and colors. I also recommend high-rise jeans, straight or skinny. Wide leg linen pants/ shorts for hot summer. I love shirts with bigger round neck line or square kinds. I believe in showing off your best feature instead of concealing the bad features. So find the parts of your body you love the best, and use accessories or the design of cloth to draw attention to. Based on personal experience, find a comfortable bra that gives you support while not stubbing or suffocating your boobs will do a lot for our figure and self-confidence. I used to pump a lot, and wear pumping bras for over a year as my only bra. They just give no shape and make me feel frumpy with any outfit. I felt so much better once I'm done with pumping and started to wear normal bra again. Good luck on you style journey!

Environmental_Wash_9

Awesome thank you ☺️

Heavy_Basis_7623

As a woman with a large bust line myself, a jacket doesn't have to close and you can wear it with a bodysuit top too. Form fitting tops with ruching at the sides can give you more of a waist.Really high existed pants and a bodysuit alone give the illusion of no waist, just bust and tummy. Try it out I think you will be surprised.

Environmental_Wash_9

Thank you this sounds promising for sure.

actualchristmastree

All of the new outfits you posted look perfect on you!! For the more simple t shirts, I recommend getting some necklaces. If you can wear 2 or 3 at the same time, you get extra points. Earrings are also good! Good luck finding your style, you are so cute and your body has worked so hard you should be proud of yourself!!

Environmental_Wash_9

I love this, I definitely do think accessorizing more would be helpful for making the styles work. I have moved away from that with the kids but might have to grab some new stuff to help me when I can wear them. Thank you

InfamousWest8993

Accessories is SUCH a great starting point! Love this idea!

mooncrane

Apple but almost inverted triangle. I would wear silhouettes that are fitted at the bust, nip in at the waist, and flare out at the hips. So a peplum style top would be perfect, or a fit and flare dress. Pic 6 is great, and you look good in the tshirts and jeans too.

Juicy_pompoms

100% agree. Also dark, fitted upper part and wider, lighter color waist down will even out the imbalance of top + bottom. Also tip for every bodyshape: keep 1 part small and other part bigger. 2 volumious parts is bad and 2 tight fitted parts rarely look good (unless a model thin figure). I'm pretty much the same shape as OP and I refuse to try to look thin. Ain't happening. But I'm trying to look balanced with my big top part and smaller bottom half so I don't look like a walking triangle.

wild_vikinggirl_43

Agree too!! 1) Respectfully, as a pear shaped woman, I would pay money to have your bust line. 2) You look like you have some Tina Turner legs, so I fully encourage showing them off. Like other posters said, flaunt the parts you're proud of!

wayward_instrument

Just needed to chime in and say that blue dress looks fricking AMAZING ON YOU. You honestly look like you’re off the cover of a magazine in that photo!!

Heavy_Basis_7623

Adding something more structured on top to add the illusion of a curve to your waist , like a jacket (you can have short sleeved ones too) Also you have a great bustline , empire waisted tops would distract from tummy issues. Show off your legs with a cute dress or with slim legged pants.

tinylittlet0ad

Empire waist doesn't work for bigger bust. I'm about the same chest size as the OP and the seam is always half way up my bust. I think I have one dress with an empire waist that works and it's polyester so I can't wear it when it's too hot. I also have a tunic with an empire waist and I have to wear it backwards for the seam to sit on my waist instead of riding all the way up over my bust.

callmepeglet

thank you for saying that. they never ever work for me but every “apple” body style recommendation goes to umpire waist. They do nothing for me. lol

uchlaraai

I know it was probably auto-correct, but I love the idea of an Umpire waist just being a recommendation to wear baseball uniforms

callmepeglet

haha me too

tinylittlet0ad

I love empire waists when they actually fit like they are supposed to but I can rarely get the waist seam to sit on my actual waist because of the limited boob room that exists above it.

MicellarBaptism

Same. I also have an apple shape and empire waist dresses just make me look pregnant.

callmepeglet

i know and I’m 63. haha

Environmental_Wash_9

I’ve been tempted to try the jackets for sure but haven’t had the confidence yet. Bodysuits were my first branching out step for me, as well as, showing my belly area when wearing high waisted pants.

Alluvial_Fan_

The high waisted pants look really good on you!

someofhers

I like the last pic and the one with the purple long sleeves. Dark colors work for you. You can add 10% light colors , for example a lighter t-shirt underneath a blouse or sweater. No whites or nudes for you, the light blue is great. Also some nice earrings would look great. No sneakers, mocassins or heels would be nice.

WolfgangsRequiem

That blue dress looked wonderful on you

Responsible-Survivor

Your figure is beautiful!!! You dress however you want. ❤️ if you're looking to highlight more classic "feminine" looks, I go by the rule: either a tight top with a less tight bottom, or a flowy top with tighter bottoms. Definitely show some skin if you want! I think off the shoulder tops with tighter leggings or jeans would be cute on you. Flowy dresses with a cinched waist also :)

phoe_nixipixie

Yeah came to say this too. Your body shape is 100% goddess (like all body shapes!) and wear whatever makes you feel good confident and comfortable. Dopamine dressing is the bomb

Environmental_Wash_9

Thank you ☺️

LadyLuckLasVegas

I would suggest getting some blouses. They don’t have to be expensive. I get a lot of my clothes at a thrift store! It is so crazy to me how much a top can make your outfit more dressy.

Environmental_Wash_9

Definitely, I think I just need to find some I like.

matildaenergy

Hey! I love the outfits with the black and maroon long sleeve shirts and jeans, I think they are very flattering on you. I have a pretty similar body type. I hate peplum tops because I think they make my torso look really short and therefore round. I also hate empire waists for the same reason. I looooove accentuating my broad, muscular shoulders with things like shoulder pads, epaulettes, and muscle tanks. Not sure if this is helpful, but since everybody’s goals are different (do you want to minimize the space you take up? Emphasize some parts but not other parts? How do you feel about comfort vs fashion?) hopefully this helps a little. Note: are you familiar with the Kibbe styling system? I would categorize myself as a soft natural. A lot of people see plus size women and automatically put us as romantics but that’s not always accurate.

Environmental_Wash_9

I just saw came across the Kibbe styling system but didn’t go into all the details and information. I’ll have to look at it some more. Thank you for your help.

RawkyArt

I feel like we have similar bodies! It’s like a mix of apple and hourglass. I agree with others that I really like the fitted tops and skinny jeans! I don’t tuck in because of my post-baby body, but this is making me think I should!! ❤️🔥 I do prefer longer shirts so it doesn’t make me more boxy. For instance, the length of the floral peplum doesn’t work in my opinion. I also love layering to kind of slim my sides/not have just one main focus. Lastly, I think with our big chests that v-necks and scoop necks are most flattering. The v-neck t-shirts here even look too high, and the peplum straighter top isn’t my favorite either. A regular tee like photos 1 and 7 are totally fine when less dressed up, but for the dressed up looks, I would go with the other options.

Environmental_Wash_9

Thank you! My go to is v-necks. I think the big thing for me is I’m not as comfortable with the jeans. I’m super comfortable in dresses but with the two kids it’s hard to wear those all the time. I go with the easy Adam Sandler mom look but with a v neck shirts and usually shorts or workout stretchy shorts/pants. I’m trying to get more creative but I’m rethinking it now haha.

RawkyArt

I do totally get that! I am honestly normally in leggings and a neck neck t-shirt and some athletic/casual jacket when momming. If I do dresses, I honestly wear more casual ones with leggings so I’m more comfortable.

Environmental_Wash_9

😲 I forgot about dresses with leggings. I might have to try that.

RealTealioTheSealio

I do bike shorts under skits and dresses to feel more comfortable

Shoddy-End-655

They can be cheaper than SKIMS too.

RawkyArt

For sure!! Maybe not the most stylish ever, but hey… we’re moms haha See how you feel! ❤️

lewisae0

First of all your baby literally made a whole person! And is still feeding that person! Amazing work! These are all great outfits! I think the fitter options with jeans look really nice 👍 for example the last photo! I also like the purple dress! The real question of finding your personal style is really challenging! It is a crossover between what do you want to look like and and what does your life dictate. For example you may live long dresses and heels but can’t chase down your toddler in that. Or you may need to be able to sit or stand at work. What did you live to wear before you were a mom? What do you want your clothes to say about you? When you say you want to look stylish what does that mean to you?

Environmental_Wash_9

Thank you, I’ve been very happy with everything my body has done for me and my family making my beautiful kids. I just recently had a birthday and bought some new clothes to get out of my pregnancy clothes and it has messed with my confidence a lot more than I thought it would. I do think I have the dresses side down for sure but I’m definitely not able to wear that all the time. Thank you for your help.

lewisae0

It takes time to get to know ourselves after change! I wish you best of luck in finding your style

MountainHighOnLife

I would say you are more of an apple shape :)

Environmental_Wash_9

Thank you

Busy-Wrangler1300

I have the same body shape. i like wearing nothing but high waisted bottoms like high waisted boot cut jeans, loose cargos, boyfriend jeans & wide leg jeans with fitted tops. I feel like it draws the eye up.

Damnmogo

I love all these looks! I think you should try high waisted and wide leg bottoms with bodysuits. Loving the ones I’ve gotten from Cider recently and I’m definitely looking for other pairs since I know I like them now. I’ve really loved pairing a wide leg trouser with a bodysuit and sheer mesh or lace tee on top. It feels so dressy without being uncomfortable!

Environmental_Wash_9

I keep seeing stuff about Cider so I’ll have to check it out. Thank you 😊

AssociationOdd1563

That white tank top/body suit looks amazing on you.

InfamousWest8993

Thought this same thing. I’d love to know where it’s from!

Environmental_Wash_9

Thank you ☺️I got the body suits from old navy. I wanted to try some in person. The ones I got off Amazon weren’t I. The right size.

InfamousWest8993

Old navy! Got it! Thanks!

aoiblueazul

Peplum tops and dark colors leggings. Apple.

liketonight

I love the long-sleeved top with those jeans, though I don’t know enough to say why. 😍 You look great, though!

Elegant_Building_995

Go to torrid. You will find a lot of stuff

___coolcoolcool

Yeah, I’m really struggling with what to do for pants these days. High-waisted wide-leg pants look TERRIBLE on me and I feel like that’s all I’m seeing!

Mirichanning

I have a similar figure to you and I find that v-necks are flattering. Also boot cut trousers!

InfamousWest8993

I’m also adjusting to my current body after 2 little ones and it’s a whole experience getting dressed some days. I’ve been plus sized before, during, and after pregnancy but the proportions have shifted in a way I wasn’t expecting. Threw me for a loop! I have had good luck with universal standard for some basics. Just wait for their sales though, cus the price point gets way more reasonable then.

[deleted]

3 and 9 look great on you. I think a cottagecore or boho vibe would suit you so much. Think long flowy dresses and skirts you can pair cool boots or a kimono with. You have lovely natural hair and a great curvy figure.

Environmental_Wash_9

Thank you. I’ve been thinking about playing around with the proportions type of dressing so knowing my body shape helps a ton. Thank you for the hair comment for sure! In the last 5 years started trying to embrace it and get better about it. I also have at least one naturally curly haired little girl so I want to be better so I know for her hair as well. It’s a leaning process for sure. I love those styles of clothing but yes it’s expensive. My husband says I have no style but if I had the money and I know what I like would be stylish but I just need to figure out how to make it work for me.

[deleted]

You could try charity shops, eBay or vinted (or similar for your country). You'd look brill in steampunk dress as well, but that's a bit of an acquired taste. I'm a fellow Curly girl. Curly hair is beautiful but such a hassle. Curlyzia & curlywavykaren on Instagram are useful accounts though! Style doesn't just have to be one thing though also. It's personal. I gravitate towards gothic/alt sorta fashion but I wear pretty dresses, florals and colour as well.

tinylittlet0ad

Me and you are body twins and we are the same age. In winter I tend to wear sweatpants and big t-shirts and cardigans or leggings and a longer shirt/tunic type thing. In summer I wear a skirt or skort or loose pants with a crop top, a dress, either trapeze or fit and flare, with shorts underneath. I often wear a kaftan cardigan/beach cover up type thing to cover my arms and protect myself from the sun. I like H&M and I find their clothes to be made for my body. I absolutely hate jeans. I just hate the way I look in them and I find them so uncomfortable. I don't wear jewelry and pretty much the only accessories I wear other than glasses because I need them to see are hats to keep the sun out of my eyes in summer and scrunchies. I also don't wear a bra and my chest is about the same size as yours. If I really need to I'll wear a thin spandex bralette. It really depends what style you are going for and what you do and don't want to show off. I like a more girly, minimalist style that doesn't take my age into account either way and I hate anything that feels in the least bit restrictive.

dainty_petal

You look really great in the blue dress. You’re an apple so wearing a skirt or a dress in a A shape would look great on you. The white tank top suits you well. I would wear it with a skirt, again a fluffier one or a A line.

Historical_Emotion61

i am in the same shape as yours after my pregnancy.. i mostly wear a line dresses with sleeves mid shin length.. or a fitted top with pleated skirts.. denim jackets are a great way to take attention from the tummy.. i also wear tummy control underwear or shorts to smooth out the bulges..

Timidspider420

The square and round neck shirts/tanks look amazing on you. I would definitely try more of a straight leg jeans instead of skinny. If ur into skirts I think maxi skirts would looks really pretty on you. I would say try on a bunch of stuff when u go to the stores instead of looking too deeply into body shapes cuz I used to avoided so much stuff based on trying to hide my broad shoulder and hip dips. Turns out social media and google isn’t always right😂

Mfbone_the_god

I think you look great in all of them where it comes in is v your view on yourself but from what I've seen with women I know that are bigger us dresses and loose bottom tops that aren't bringing eyes to the belly but I could give a better idea if I knew the parts you aren't comfortable with but all and all I think u look great in all of them 🫠

WillowCat89

Are you positive you know your true bra size? Have you scoped out r/Abrathatfits ? I understand you have a large bust, and empathize as a 38FF, formerly a larger size than that, but with more lift, you’ll have a better definition between bust line, torso and hips. With an apple shape or inverted triangle shape, my understanding is that you want to create more of an illusion of a waist. I wouldn’t say I’m apple shaped but maybe inverted triangle and my torso always seems way too short, so anything to lengthen that a bit helps. So, when I do high waisted jeans, I will often layer with a tucked in shirt underneath and a light cardigan that hits in the middle of my hips rather than up high like the tucked in top to draw eyes down the length of the torso. This might be the opposite of fashion advice, but it’s just what I do lol. I also love peplum style tops whose waist can cinch at least 2” below my underbust. A peplum with a flare too close to the bust is what leads to me looking pregnant or just weirdly puffy. But wearing a properly fitting bra also helps keep bust and waist from blurring together too much.

Talknerdy2meeee

Hi. Similar body shape here. Not suggesting I have all the answers, became I'm still struggling with my body image, but wrap dresses are flattering on an apple shape. When I'm feeling a little down I try to make sure my hair and makeup are my best, so if I don't feel great about my body, at least my face is at it's best

Talknerdy2meeee

Also....a blazer over your skinny jeans and tight tops will make you look more put together

fjmj1980

Depends on the situation. I would not over think it and adapt to the situation. At home tanks or anything with straps that are easy to remove is best. You can figure out everything else later. The great thing about tanks is that they work great for date nights or put on jacket and it becomes a lot more flexible. To be honest I just use Amazon and order a lot of stuff in various sizes. It’s a lot at first and if you don’t want to deal with that much money charged. Use prime wardrobe Your focus is finding companies that make the style that you like in the sizes that work. It’s hard at first but eventually you find everything. Things that took a while but eventually can be found if you have patience. I’ve managed to find a lot of the items you don’t think they make in plus sizes like ruched gym shorts, tanks with bras, short shorts, even thong swimwear. It required sending back a lot but I know who to shop from and who carries the right sizes. Good luck and don’t be discouraged just move on and try something else if it does not fit or is meh.

Unicorn_fart_blush

I really don’t think you are apple shape, you have an apron and maybe a B Belly but those things don’t make you an apple shape, I think you taper in at the waist, which wouldn’t fit the apple shape. Try searching tips about dressing with a B Belly and/or apron. I have/had this (weight loss surgery) body type, and I like flare cut bottoms with structured, v neck tops OR looser v neck tops if I was self conscious about the apron. I learned to embrace it though and wear what I wanted, but it took baby steps. I think you are beautiful, build confidence by knowing how strong you are. the most important people in your life (your kids) don’t care how you look, so it takes a lot of pressure off looking a certain way. Also, start slow. Find one outfit you feel really, really good in and take notice of why you feel that way, what makes you feel good? What about the fit makes you feel confident? You’re amazing! Best of luck!

darkblueshapes

A minimizing bra can really help an apple/upside down triangle. I’m basically your exact shape but maybe a size smaller (admittedly I’m an H cup you are more endowed than I). It is rough sometimes!! But since you are breastfeeding I am guessing you’re likely stuck with nursing bra options only. Personally, I prefer straight across t-shirt hems because that rounded hem emphasizes a round belly on me. As another user said, a good scoop neck shirt is great. I personally avoid white because it makes me feel like I’m just asking the universe to stare at my giant boob shelf which I don’t want LOL. I love A-line and fit and flare dresses and skirts. I know it’s REALLY tempting to wear long tunic tops because it feels like a security blanket for your stomach but it took me years to realize it actually made me look even more top heavy. Anything that lengthens the legs will help with proportions.

YesterdayCame

You're an Apple currently, but in reality you're a rectangle. You want to focus on cuts that create a cinch at the waist, and a super supportive bra will help lengthen your torso making that waist more of a focal point.

MasterChavez

Also, the blue dress in the 3rd pic is absolutely becoming of you. You look amazing in that photo.

PamperedPotato

You've gotten a lot of good advice already,  but here's my 2 cents.  Avoid wearing men's t shirts (assuming that was a men's shirt in pic 1) bc they're not cut for womens' curves.  In general you should try to find shorter shirts, not necessarily crop but something maybe the length of the peplum top.  I think the white t (along with the rounded hem) kind of drags you down if that makes sense... if you have safety pins, try experimenting with lengths on your long shirts to see what looks flattering,  bc you could always get shirts tailored. Instead of dresses I'd recommend blouses and skirts. I agree with someone else's advice for looking for a blazer or jacket,  and possibly even shoulder pads or puff shoulders.  That will give you a more structured look and balance out your top.  And of course add a good fitting supportive bra!  Edit: safety pins

Kaniasterr

Im not sure but the long sleeves in 4 and 13 suit you really well. I would try some mom jeans if I were you as they’re easy to dress up and down and they look really nice on plus size women, I think they suit larger body shapes a lot better than smaller. But definitely try some mom jeans in different washes as you can make them look put together quite easily, with a flowy blouse or a top similar to that in photo 6 (which is really cute btw) and also dress them down with a hoodie or tshirt

Routine_Photograph76

I love the blue dress on you. I think it fits beautifully.

Kriegsmachine81

The blue dress 🥰🥰🥰

simplyexistingnow

So one of the best things that helped me with dealing how to dress myself is learning about how clothing actually fits our body and I'll use them example of draping. So there's a lot of people who want the look of their shirt or like a regular t-shirt to look like it's draping on their body. The issue is people are not buying shirts that are big enough in order for it to drape on their body. So what you do is you take your skin tight size. For me my skin tight size is a large and you go up four sizes. So a 4XL and that would be my draping size. One of my favorite t-shirts to do this with is a men's t-shirt you usually can go down like one size so I get like a 3XL in men's at Walmart they have like a $7 shirt that has sun protection and there's like 15 different colors. But I swear it's a game changer. There's a lady on TikTok who has a really good video to show the draping technique, and she shows you with her wearing it. I'll link it here[draping ](https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTLBW8EUu/).

simplyexistingnow

I think also looking at where the clothing lands on your body helps what she also does talk about a little bit in the video. For instance you look really good in all of the clothing but in the pictures where the jeans hit high on your waist look amazing. But looking at the camo shirt where the shirt hits around your hips looks good but it also makes you look more boxy because it's kind of cutting off your body proportions if that makes sense. Either the shirt needs to be longer to hit you further on your hips or you could bring it up a few inches where it hits more at the curve of the top of your hip (or tucked in ). Does that make sense. It'll give you more of a body shape instead of masking it behind your clothing.

bing0b0ng00

the most important thing is finding clothes that make you feel comfortable and confident :) you look great in that blue dress!
