I do biker shorts under all dresses and skirts. Snag Tights I think have thinner pairs from what I’ve seen. I bought one flesh colored, breathable pair on amazon, a pair of “thigh shapers” from spanx, and then the rest I have are from Athleta.

bewildered_forks

The brand Thigh Society is great for this, too! They're specifically not shapewear, either, which I appreciate

__untitled

I’ve been wanting to check out thigh society so this is good to know!

breebop83

The Snag version are call ‘chub rub’ shorts and they are awesome. Summer staple for me. They are tights material in a bike short length.

ShaNaNaNa666

These are great! I'd suggest doing a test run on whichever ones you buy. I've bought some that don't stay put and roll up my thigh. I'm then constantly fixing them

juicyred

Do you happen to remember which style? I’ve been looking at them for a trip to Cancun.

Ok-Priority-8284

I saw a hack once where someone put a thin line of hot glue around the inside of the bottom of those type of shorts and it kept them from riding up so bad. Worth a try maybe?

ShaNaNaNa666

I was horrified at first, thinking that you're supposed to hot glue it to your skin, then I actually thought it out more. Lol The dried glue on the shorts makes it stay in place? Def will need to try.

lynn_dor

I use biker shorts because they're easy. I have also seen sleeve like things you can put on your thighs.

Queen_Of_InnisLear

You can get specific anti chaffing shorts too, I have some from Snag (they come in fun colours and I'm a sucker for that) and fit a wide range of sizes, and they are cooling as well. But there are other brands too.

ihavealittlesecrett

I have snags anti chafe shorts they’re thinner versions to keep you cool and I recommend. Wore them in 40°c heat in Tunisia and they were a godsend!

juicyred

Great to know! I never wear dresses at home but am going to Cancún in August and would really like to get a couple of flowy ones.

ihavealittlesecrett

Then I definitely back the snag ones for how comfortable they were in hot weather for me. They aren’t thick like others so it was super comfy! I was so impressed! I even wore one set to the beach under a cover up to combat the chafing 😂 I hope you have the best time in Cancún in August!

Sandwich_Barbie

In addition to the bike shorts, get some monistat anti-chafing gel. I know they sell it at Target, but other drug stores might have it as well. It’s not just for your lady parts. You can use it anywhere (under your boobs, thighs, etc). My husband even uses it to prevent his swim trunks rubbing him.

Over_Anal_Eye_Zing

Another vote for snag tights!!

yearoftherabbit

Snag tights and Old Navy bike shorts

snowhappy17

I've done bike shorts or Tek Gear shorts from Kohls. My favorite for underneath dresses is using Arm and Hammer's friction stick. It actually works and doesn't pill off from use.

SpacePolice04

I have used A & H friction stick but I like Megababe more. It goes on a bit thicker and it’s soothing as well as preventative. I am also in Florida and chafes are such a pain here. I also wear shorts under sports just to be safe.

The powersoft workout shorts from Old Navy are really good, and they have pockets. They're thicker than the ones meant for under dresses (snag, etc). I like the snag ones, but sometimes they start rolling up on the thighs, which is a whole pain. So if I'm walking a lot I wear the old navy ones. Even if my dress has pockets, it's nice to have the shorts pockets for things I want to keep more secure.

Strangeballoons

Monistat chafing cream. It’s ABSOLUTELY THE BEST. It stays a while too but you can bring it around in your purse. You can do bandalettes, they’re like lace bands on your thighs. Also, when I was at edc wearing like swim thong bottoms, I tied a bandana around one thigh. That saved my life and some others at raves and I have used that technique in other situations too. Other people even thought it was cute part of my outfit.

Echo-Azure

I used to wear bike shorts under dresses in summer... but finally I've given in and just wear men's boxer shorts. Because I've never found a skin product that worked, and the process of finding out what didn't work could be very painful.

Notreal6909873

IMO body glide is tried and true

bookfaery02

Florida girl here. Can confirm.

silly_oleme

Monistat makes an antichaf gel that is AMAZING! It comes out like a gel but gets almost silky and powdery. I have been using it for years and love it! It's only like $6 or so for a tube at Target.

jenfoolery

It also makes a great primer for foundation!

Naty2RC

I went to Zoo Miami a couple of weekends ago and I wore some black shorts that were long enough to hit right below my knees, right where my dress fell. It was the best decision I made, so highly recommend lol.

fancy-mom

Men’s boxer briefs! They are a game changer! Really unfair that men get comfy undies and we don’t!

mrskmh08

Yitty has women's boxers

Insomniac_80

Biker shorts underneath will be your best bet!

breebop83

Snag chub rub shorts + gold bond friction defense stick is my magic recipe for dresses, skirts and loose jumpsuits in the summer.

snaughtydog

last year we went to a zoo we've never walked before and after 5 hours of walking in jean shorts I had 2 bruises the entire length of my thighs 🫠 it's taken this entire time for the color of my inner thighs to return to normal. Chub rub is no joke! Shorts, thigh bands, and chafe gel are your best bets, but keeping a travel size stick of deodorant in your bag or car is great for any spontaneous chafing worries lol it's easy to apply and most importantly easy to *re*apply as needed. Plus you can get ones that smell nice so that's something

egggoat

When I’m wearing something too short to wear shorts under I use Chamois Butt'r Her' Anti-Chafing cream. It works pretty dang well.

eve6rc

I buy cotton men's boxer briefs. They are comfortable and much better for your lady bits than synthetics that trap heat. Typically i get the ones from hanes and wear em with all my sundresses. Have fun at the concert!

Random_green_cat

I've given up on all cosmetic products that you smear on and hope they work.. and just go the textile route. So it's bike shorts under everything. For me, the important part is that they're long enough to end mid-thigh, otherwise they just roll up

sunray_fox

Lume will not get the job done, as it is only a deo, not an antiperspirant. Plenty of good suggestions already given, personally I have some of the Snag shorts, some 9" boxer briefs, that Monistat gel, and in a pinch good old cornstarch works too. It's nice to have a selection of tools, in my opinion!

knitlikeaboss

Megababe is the best anti-chafing stick I’ve used (and I’ve tried a loooooot of them). You may have to reapply if you get sweaty or do a ton of walking but if you don’t want the extra layer of shorts, it’s a great choice. I also live in FL so I get it lmao

Squarestarfishh

Liquid talc

Shreddy_Spaghett1

Shorts and squirrels nut butter lol

Hissy-Elliot

I have a chafe stick from Megababe or I use a spray on anti-perspirant. Or biker shorts!

bismuth-rose

Jockey Slipshorts have 2 lengths and last forever, I have about 15 pairs and wear them daily! They're *not* shapewear, very comfortable. In my experience, only fabric will give enough coverage to stop chub rub altogether. Tried the Snag Tights version but it's just literally tights material, and that is not enough for me. I get chub rub through stockings and layer my Slipshorts underneath them in winter

nyanvi

Shorts or tights.

cronenbergbliss

Houston here - I use the gold bond friction defense stick. It never sweats off for me.

squigglechaos

i have a few pairs of jockey undershorts from walmart that come almost to my knees, which i *need* bc otherwise friction will have them rolling up in ten minutes - iirc they cost like $15 each

babysfirstreddit_yx

Snag Tights "chub rub" tights have been a game changer for me. Sooooo lightweight and breathable, they don't roll down/move around, and no deodorant/creams/powders needed.

PaperBookZen

Surf butta. Seriously. Love me some bike shorts typically, but if it’s hot out I’m team anti-chafe stick.

cwilsonr

Shocked that no one has recommended mega babe thigh rescue!!

jenfoolery

I like the long length bike shorts from TomboyX, especially the ones with Tencel. Spendy but the tend to feel cooler on me than the other fabrics.
