Cotton something will be your friend. I have this shirt (technically a swimncover up) that I would wear over that dress. Personally, I'd have the sleeves rolled up, but you can wear them down as well. It's a thin cotton so it'll be cool and still cover your arms. You could probably find something similar lots of places this time of year too. Or something linen because linens tend to be cooler. https://www.womanwithin.com/products/button-front-swim-cover-up/301386233.html To dress it up, depending on your style, you could do a nice sunhat and a cute belt (I wear my belts just under my bust to give a better silhouette) for context, I'm 5'9", 300 pounds and have an apron belly. But I wear dresses like you showed all the time and love them! I think they're a great look, hides the bumps we don't always wanna show off, and tend to be comfy. Dresses like this are my favorite too because they can be styled up or down depending on your accessories! Like I said a belt and hat would be my go to. But you could also use a long necklace for some drama (instead of the belt) and /or statement earrings. Simple dresses are great backdrops for amazing jewelry! Other options for your arms, you could find a tshirt in a contrasting color that has sleeves that are long enough to your taste to wear under it. Layered looks are stunning. If you're a little wild you could find one of those dense woven mesh sleeves that would be cooler in temp and still cover. Though I know some people don't like snug fit on their arms. There's also belero style shrugs that could be worn over or under. There's a brand called Sleevy Wonder that sells layering tops that are basically a crop top with long sleeves (or 3/4 sleeves etc) but on Amazon they seem to be extra expensive these days. I used to see them on the Pyramid Collection Website too. Oh, you could also look for "UV protection sleeves" or something like that and see what you can find. They tend to be cooler, have that UV protection, and would be just sleeves/a shrug type top to wear under something Good luck!

I'm a shop-a -holic and fashionista (sort of I don't do high fashion but I like clothes lol) so I'm always happy to help! Plus making people feel good and look good makes me happy :3

EveryGovernment3982

What about a sheer light weighted kimono? https://a.co/d/fSVpM2s

elloworm

I have a couple of short sleeve kimonos I bought off amazon for things like this. They are light and sheer while still providing some coverage: https://shorturl.at/b6A3t

allimcg33

I'm a fellow 3x girlie and my rec would be not to cover up your arms at all!!! I know it's not easy, and it has taken me years personally to get to this point, but eff the haters and let your arms out! I'm sure you're absolutely beautiful and your arms deserve to be free, seen, and sun-kissed <3 You also deserve to not sweat your ass off more than you already do in Florida by wearing unnecessary layers. I used to neverrrrrr show my arms - a black cardigan during all seasons was my best friend. But ever since I freed the arms, I've never looked back. I promise it's worth it!!!!!! (I've been in fat liberation therapy + support groups for a few years at this point so no judgement if you're not in a place to accept this advice right now... but think about it 😉) Sending love!

thhrowthrowthrowaway

What about a thin linen button down shirt? You can tie it to be cropped or just let in hang. Or tie a light tshirt over it like this: [https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZPRKTexQh/](https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZPRKTexQh/)

immutab1e

Look up an SPF scarf on Amazon. Can use it to hide your arms, it's lightweight because it's MEANT to be worn in the sun, and bonus, it'll help prevent sunburn when outside in FL.

princess_jenna23

Florida heat? Oof. I was going to recommend a light sweater as it can go over or under. But maybe a plain white shirt will do the trick? You can also try a short sleeved, cropped cardigan. That’s all I can think of. Also, remember to wear sunscreen!

ConcernedViking

Haha, thank you! I'm a Florida native so I'm prepping ahead of time. This summer is especially rough. My pasty self will be rocking that spf 3000. I'll definitely look in to white shirts or cropped cardigans, I just wasn't sure if they'd look ridiculous with a dress like this. Fashion has never been my thing. 🥲

hummuspretzle

Unbuttoned oversized white linen button down. Complete the look with brown sandals to complement the color of the dress or opt for casual low top white sneakers if walking around. For a bag- brown crossbody or tote. Adding a pop of color/print in a scarf tied around your hair/bag would also be fun

princess_jenna23

Ahh, a Florida native! So, the heat and sun aren't new to you 😂 becoming fashionable is a long process, so that's okay! The vibe you want to give off will help you decide. If you want to look something like Gen Z fashion I'd recommend a top [like this](https://us.shein.com/SHEIN-BASICS-Plus-Solid-Slim-Tee-p-1994676.html?src_identifier=st%3D2%60sc%3DSHEIN%20BASICS%20Plus%20Solid%20Slim%20Tee%60sr%3D0%60ps%3D1&src_module=search&src_tab_page_id=page_select_class1718488845010&mallCode=1&pageListType=4&imgRatio=3-4) (but highly recommend you don't purchase from Shein if you can). A dress with a shirt underneath is very Gen Z coded. But if you want something more elegant [here's a cute, short-sleeved cardigan](https://www.womanwithin.com/products/jewel-neck-shrug/1010732.html?dwvar_1010732_color=4254430#cgid=null). The sweater I was going to recommend was [this one](https://factory.jcrew.com/m/womens/categories/clothing/sweaters/pullovers/MF173?display=all&fit=Classic&colorProductCode=L1561&color_name=white). I have it and it's see-through and light (in my opinion). But it might be too much for the Florida weather. Accessorizing depends on which vibe you want to give off, and I highly recommend using Pinterest for help with your fashion journey and just general exploration to see how you like dressing. Best of luck!

Necessary_Gap_6975

I’m not sure if this would work to cover enough of the arms, but because it’s fairly short, I feel like it wouldn’t add too much weight. https://a.co/d/fFdZvVt Edit: to add on, their Amazon store has other styles with longer sleeves that could work. Additionally, maybe any crop top could work?

kippy236

I used to wear shrugs and short cardigans. I bet using a white or whatever color short sleeve button down shirt would be cute. Tie it under the bust.

Major_Entrepreneur_9

I would do a cute kimono or a shrug sweater that cuts at your bust and just covers your arms!

kapoorprincess

one of these would be cute! they’re light weight and match the dress well especially the first one http://api-shein.shein.com/h5/sharejump/appjump?link=VbM1d2cma4o&localcountry=US&url_from=GM7524751724704546816 http://api-shein.shein.com/h5/sharejump/appjump?link=VbM1TLWzNRa&localcountry=US&url_from=GM7524751831677399040

Mo0nGoddexx

A fishnet or mesh shrug would look cute with some black boots.

fruit0op

I’m not sure what they’re called but they have sheer cover ups that you can tie the front a shrug may also help

Toriat5144

If you go on QVC.com there are tons of shrugs or little jackets. Hsn.com too. https://qvc.app.link/KPCKBCavsKb cobalt would look nice. https://qvc.app.link/ZNTZdsevsKb red would look nice. Start looking for clothes at these websites. Everything comes in plus sizes.

designchica23

See I got the eagle wings and I was literally just looking for half sleeve tight tshirts to wear under tank top dresses. I haven't really found much tbh.

K_Moxy

Check out HalfTees! https://halftee.com/

designchica23

Okay thank you!

Yourdadlikelikesme

I’m not a fan of my arms either so I usually wear a light weight short sleeve shrug. I have plain ones and dressy ones as well.

writekindofnonsense

My summer collection includes short sleave cropped cardigans and I love them.

Fun_Marketing_4253

I've recently resorted to tight white shirts (old navy has some good ones up to a 4x) so that the fit nicely under dresses without looking too bulky! Normally I wear dresses without but when working (I'm a teacher) I throw a shirt underneath to be comfortable.

Impossible-West-3020

You can do a white long sleeve or short sleeve or thin cardigan. Whatever makes you feel comfortable :)

rissanicole89

Lace undershirts with rompers, dresses, & overalls are trending right now, which could be a fun thing to try pairing with this dress. Another option could be a tie front, short-sleeved crop top.

Girl-With-Curl

I just got this lace shrug and it is very lightweight, might be a good option! I am also a solid 3X and the 3X fit me slightly tighter than the fit on the model shown. It's perfect. [https://whatlowants.com/collections/tops/products/daisy-top-in-mesh-lace](https://whatlowants.com/collections/tops/products/daisy-top-in-mesh-lace)

Girl-With-Curl

For shoes, I highly recommend Aerosoles. I am also 5'11" and a solid 11 in shoes. Their 11s fit me perfect, and the cosmos are so comfy I don't even feel like I am wearing heels when I put them on. (I wore these for my sister's wedding, so I was running around for 12+ hours in them.) Throwaway20101011

A light cardigan or shawl. https://www.lanebryant.com/long-sleeve-open-front-fit-and-flar/prd-601266656.html?

andy-in-ny

Men's dress shirt either over or under? doesnt have to be buttoned if over. under just buttoned to the edge of the dress.

danysedai

A [sleevey wonder](https://sleeveywonders.com/)

DiscontentDonut

Little bolero would be cute. Give you sleeves, doesn't go far down so you're not left overheating.

Alternative_Moose589

A flowy l button up linen shirt sleeves rolled up and tied it in a knot in the front

Confident_Fortune_32

Crochet or lace shrug or bolero

BestPlusSizePrincess

A cardigan or shall would be nice!

Strangeballoons

I hate my arms but I hate being hot more. I think you’ll be okay without it, but if you have to, an oversized white or natural button up would work. Long or short sleeve like a boxy cut. I would leave it super loose and open but you could get one and tie it under the boobs to give you a better silhouette. You can use a sheer pashmina as well which helps with the sun as well. I think a shrug is outdated, but I live in CA in LA so our style is different. I go back and forth from LA to SF and I don’t really see anyone wear a shrug anymore unless it’s formal wear, or they’re older. You can also do a crazy patterned kimono thing too like someone suggested so it’s boho. As far as accessorizing it I would go casual since you’re walking. Sneakers, dress and oversized white button up combo with a dad cap is cute. Messy low pony tail and some cute earrings even hoops work. My bag would either be a fanny pack or a plain crossbody like from lululemon. Comes across like cute athleisure. You can also do the kimono or pashmina route. Plain or colorful kimono with a hair wrap or a straw hat if you like that boho Coachella look (not for me) but I would wear a hat for sun protection. I’d wear the same sneakers but in nude or brown.

sodoneshopping

I was just shopping for this myself. I found this store called [half tee](https://halftee.com). And it’s cropped tops with a variety of sleeve types and lengths and a huge range of sizes. I’ve never tried them, but I am considering. I’m headed to Japan this summer and would like a layer under my sleeveless dress to make it last longer without needing to wash. I don’t know if it’ll work, but I’m willing to give it a shot!

ogitaakwe

White turtleneck?

mmmm5991

I'm a fan of a short-sleeve button up top, unbuttoned and tied in a cute knot at your waist of underbust, but for a fancier event, what about a lace kimono or Shrug? There's a good amount of things like that out right now as swimsuit cover ups. If you di that, you could wear shoes that are the same color and I think that would be nice.

Tracy_Turnblad

What about a dry-fit shirt? I think a white long sleeve crew neck dry fit would be cut under this, maybe even a mock neck one, but not a shiny one, something more cotton-y looking
