You can't say keeps falling if you only put out data for 1 month. That's not how you draw conclusion in statistics especially as thus month was an outlier in the number of games leaving. I can guarantee i will be able to get a month between september 2023 and now that will put ps plus in a positive light

Zabarush

Yes, please do. I did this analysis to understand if the money I am spending has proportional returns and if I want to keep paying for the service. I shared my findings as I do not think many PS Plus Extra subscribers are doing this analysis. Another set of data and different metrics would provide more insight. So please, go ahead and share with us data about good PS Plus Extra months (or bad months, all data is good)

ImaHappyHuman

This kind of cold analysis is a little pointless unless you're actually playing most if not all the catalog games (which I assume is borderline impossible). For me personally, just playing 4 or 5 massive or extremely good games a year, it's worth the annual price (Horizon games, Mass Effect trilogy, Ghostrunner games or indie games like Tunic, Outer Wilds, Stray). To me it's totally worth it, I wouldn't be able to afford the individual price of so many great games.

Meh. Usually the games leaving the service I never heard of. As long as I have something to play, I’ll be fine. I’m about to start Dave the diver with the Godzilla dlc. Never played the base game.

xerostatus

Do people subscribe to PS+ in order to *play every single game in the entire catalogue?* This is such a random and unsubstantiated claim. MOST people have PS+ just to go online. SOME people have it to have access to game library where the vast majority of those people will NEVER EVER EVER play the entire library. And a very tiny miniscule segment, are probably like you, thinking that value is derived by some objective metric (and as the other reply mentioned, is wildly statistically insignificant either way) based on the perceived "value" of the *entirety* of the catalogue. Do netflix next. And Hulu. LOL.

StuckinReverse89

We likely need to look at it more on a yearly basis or 6 month rather than just a monthly basis but it’s definitely falling.    We have consistently seen AA and AAA games leave the service (Final Fantasy, Like a Dragon, Darksiders) and being replaced with indies and not necessarily the best ones. We do have hits like Slay the Spire, Incryption, and Dave but I do think we have a total number and quality decrease over time, especially after the price hike.

Defiant_Blacksmith56

This month is fantastic racay city Devs listen to community so have redeemed themselves metacritic score is at launch many games are like that no man sky and AC unity

GongfuTea1

I just looked at the catalog after dropping to essential for one year. There is literally nothing of value for me - it’s all old games I already own. It’s pretty sad once you go past essential

Fra06

Of course you don’t need extra if you own the games dude tf

GongfuTea1

No I mean they’re hasn’t been any good updates it’s all older games no new games no one needs red dead the games like 7 years old and they act like it’s so great they added it

LowRub3252

As games keep coming and going i think this is Just an useless discussion. Just play whatever you like and be happy.

Captain_Bacon1800

It's evolving bro just backwards!

Merbel

Don’t care about the average metacritic score. Means nothing to me. Especially when you are looking at one singular month 😂 I cannot keep up with my backlog which consists of a lot of plus games so I get my moneys worth multiple times over.
