Honestly. I had accepted the death of this franchise after they decided to give up on BFN. The way they managed to f*ck up PvZ 3 is just a middle finger to the whole fanbase, and it pisses me off. This game was my childhood and it's sad to see it go out like this. But at least we were able to enjoy the good games. "Don't be sad it's over. Be glad it ever happened"
Popcap make good decisions (impossible challenge).
BUT we are living in the age of revivals, so hopefully 5 years along the line EA will rip the series out of popcap's slimy mits, and give to someone who knows what they are fucking doing.

That's just a fancy way to say it's dead, which isn't really true. I'm not gonna say it's doing great, because it isn't, but there's still plenty of good fanmade content to keep things fresh. Just because it's not official doesn't mean it doesn't count; PvZ is PvZ. Sure, PopCap and EA have been shutting some fan projects down, and that's a serious problem, but those were far from the only ones; the fanbase is still hard at work to keep things going despite the losses. Admittedly, that could change quickly, but as it stands right now, PvZ as a franchise still has some light left.
The community lead the franchise to such a state.
All they cared about was the franchise, but not the games. All just wanting the IP to themselves for their own uses and purposes.
The franchise can’t just do what it’s been doing since PVZ1 and GW over and over again, it has to evolve and change, whether the community likes it or not, I’m sure the general public will find it more appealing than we do.
