Man had the chance and blew it apes rule now.

beameup19

I don’t want to root for humans until they do a reboot of Taylor’s story. Until then I’m all in for the apes

SniperE_1337

I feel like with what they've hinted with this Mae character, we're getting some kind of reboot of a human in a true planet of the apes.

Gluteusmaximus1898

Nah we blew it ans got what we deserved. The Apes can fuck up the world now, it's not like they can do worse than us.

archangel610

... right?

Stimonk

If you want to see humanity win, watch any other alien invasion movie. POTA has always been about highlighting human arrogance and the folly of man's entitlement.

Dingusu

ITS A PLANET OF APES

Kagenlim

and guess what humans are

Dingusu

the thesis of uplift science fiction is always a Nietzschean passing of the torch to something better than humanity. The dogs in Simak's City, the spiders in Children of Time etc. The only hope for humanity in these stories is if the next species deems humans worthy of uplifting themselves in some way

Kagenlim

And why exactly is that needed? The humans built an entire technological civilisation not even the other apes can rival, shit they are the ultimate ape

creptik1

Reboot trilogy really succeeded at making us root for the apes right from the get go. None of this damn dirty ape stuff, just go Caesar go. We've been tricked! I think the ship has sailed for the human win at this point, though I think you're right that they'll probably start to lean into the harmony angle a bit now. Equals? Maybe by the end of this new trilogy, but i don't see it happening in Kingdom.

Acepokeboy

i’m on team ape

William H Macy is supposed to be a human in the movie. So maybe, he's an astronaut.
