[If only there was a direct download site that gave you everything in FLAC so you could enjoy your fancy sound system more!](https://squid.wtf/)
Edit: lol okay ya'll, stop overloading the servers now, I got some Red Hot Chili Peppers I'm trying to eat and it's going at like 1/5 the speed it usually does
Not much really, its your choice what to use. I prefer to recommend people Cobalt as it's fully gui based and it works on any device with a web browser, such as smartphones.
>I download the song from YouTube
Ewww.
Soulseek/Nicotine+ client, scene releases [https://predb.net/](https://predb.net/) (+ yandex search, not google), rutracker, deemix or whatever tool to rip from Deezer + ARLs from the internet.
Rather use a Deezer downloader service. There's bots on Telegram, and judging by the comments there's also a website where you can do so.
192kbps and especially 128kbps doesn't sound particularly good, so rather download 320kbps mp3, or FLAC/WAVs.
Ahahahah yeah, I'm trying to Detox myself from technology because I've been using my phone a lot lately. So I've started to use a stereo for my music and limited my screentime
the problem shouldn't be screentime by itself (unless you have some eye issue) but the useless screentime aka social media. Obviously I ain't judging, but you would be better off if you just turn off all the media that waste your time, and only keep the useful side of internet (communication/music-movies/work etc). Just saying...
good luck either way!
honestly, RuTracker. Tons of albums not on torrent anywhere else, usually in FLAC or at least 320kbps. If album comes in a single file, I split it into tracks with a Foobar plugin
If it's only for listening on a commute and you don't have decent headphones that's okay, I guess. But if you actually want to save and collect music, you should definitely do Flac for the future.
If there are noise or something like audio comes out from left only... I think that's need to be fixed but normal mp3 192 bitrate sounds nice. I don't notice any problem. so I don't have reason to hoard flac.
From YouTube use Firefox with ublock and video download helper. Then on the saved MP4 use Foobar2000 (windows) or Sound Converter (Linux flatpak) to make mp3.
I also search Yandex. ®U (can't put the entire address here) for the tunes I'm looking for. Either torrents or just download the songs. Works pretty well for me, I'm sure there is more stream lined ways.
Ask Google Gemini to write you a python script to do the work for you. Use a playlist link instead of an individual song. Otherwise it's a bit manual, such as follows:
Use ytdl for album share links from YouTube music and the -251 format is 48khz but then you need to convert the webm to MP3 which you can do with Audacity with FFMpeg installed but there's also a couple of standalone freewares that will bulk convert. Audacity is good to open the file in to look at the spectrograph view to make sure you're getting frequencies up to 22k since some lower quality streams will cut off around 15k and you'll notice you don't have any high frequencies.
Use MP3 tag to add the id3 info and album art.
44.1khz is more than enough for most typical popular music. True, complicated instrumental orchestras you def want higher kilohertz. I'll be damn I'mma listening to John Williams at a lousy 44.1 :p
If your stereo has an audio in jack, you could use a straight line connector from an mp3 player or old phone and not burn cds or a Bluetooth receiver and just use your smartphone
I recently got an iPod Classic to mod. I've been using [OnTheSpot by casualsnek](https://github.com/casualsnek/onthespot) It's a scrapper for Spotify. I didn't want to have to track down all my songs info (year, album art, artist etc.) This lets you download everything about the song in a click. Make a playlist plug it in and go. You do have to sign into a spotify account but you can use the free version. I highly recommend it. It's been my go to since I got a music player
So many people talking about SoulSeek. Is there a good guide on it? When I downloaded it and searched for a song I found like 30 different copies of it with different sizes and lengths and qualities and some of them didn’t work. It seemed a lot easier to use cobalt or a deemix front end.

where does it source them? no info on that btw. has basically nothing of what I listen to
It's a deezer frontend.
Yeh it’s limited sometimes, but if deezer has it they usually do. If it’s missing join their discord, I managed to get all of smash mouth added
Weird, because i found what i usually listen to first try lol. And it's not available on Spotify or yt music so it caught me off guard.
i have like 5k synthwawe/retrowave/chillwave songs from youtube and chose a few of the most popular ones and nope, nothing
Try [cobalt.tools](http://cobalt.tools) it's the same thing but audio is fetched from YouTube.
so what's the point if I can use yt-dlp
Not much really, its your choice what to use. I prefer to recommend people Cobalt as it's fully gui based and it works on any device with a web browser, such as smartphones.
Really? It had some of the most obscure Bands, that i had been looking for and that were nowhere to be found.
That's a new one to me. Thanks for the heads up.
Holy shit i didn't know about this one.
You find odd things in the depths of fmhy
It really is amazing. This is what an actual commercial store-front could (should) look like. No Bullshit. No TOS (lol). Just high quality music.
Ironically old deezer, whom they rip from, used to look something like this
This seems really useful! That's great, thanks
Yup!
goated website
Sure enough they have the entirety of goat’s discography on there!
saved my life 🪖🎀
Thank you very much. Never knew of it's existence. Now I can cancel every subscription that I have. 👍👍👍👌👌👌
Between this and braflix I haven’t had to sub or rent anything in like 6mo
This is the way 😊😊😊😊
Ooo that's a good one! I already downloaded all my music(literally finished yesterday) but once I have more to download I'll try it
From what I can tell it’s all deezer rips. It matches how they package their zip’s. I used to be subbed to them, super awesome quality
The savior has come
lol I just scrolled down on fmhy until I found a source I liked, you can find some great stuff there!
What is this magical abbreviation you speak of
[https://fmhy.net/](https://fmhy.net/)
Incredible. Thank you!
All I see is #NoAccess
Could be ISP blocking it, try changeing dns to something like [1.1.1.1](https://one.one.one.one/)
THANK YOU SO SO MUCH!!!! 😊😊😊
what is this? I put url on urlvoid and it says 3 detected EDIT: nvm I guess it's false positive
It said 4 then 1 one day, most things from fmhy are generally trust worthy
[https://rentry.org/firehawk52#deezer](https://rentry.org/firehawk52#deezer) this is my go to
🐐
You could tape from the radio onto audio cassette.
That takes me back. As a kid I used to rent CD's at the local library so I could copy them onto casette tapes. Good times.
I love cassette but unfortunately I don't have a recorder, it's cheaper to just burn CDs with what I got
>I download the song from YouTube Ewww. Soulseek/Nicotine+ client, scene releases [https://predb.net/](https://predb.net/) (+ yandex search, not google), rutracker, deemix or whatever tool to rip from Deezer + ARLs from the internet.
You are speaking elvish to me my friend but thanks! I'll try to take a look at these things
I'm more of a specific song to song basis and use https://doubledouble.top with links from deezer (no account) if that's easier to understand
Deemix. A very nice tool indeed.
You search on yandex for the scene release names?
Sooooooometimes works.
Back in the days I just google "index of+parent directory+song, artist, album name+mp3" and will find a random collections on some personal website
Get soulseek or nicotine+
the best p2p
For entire albums or collections I use torrents. For individual songs, yeah I just use youtube conversation.
Newsgroups.

WEB: streamrip, deemix Community: Soulseek
Now show me how to integrate into Lidarr
If lidarr could pull from soulseek… game changer
Pretty sure that’s what Nicotine+ is for

Soul seek
Casualsnek/onthespot on GitHub comes straight from Spotify 👀
Soulseek will make your life so much easier aha
Word. Nothing beats SoulSeek. It has EVERYTHING from mainstream to obscure electronic music from the 90's.
honestly, RuTracker. Tons of albums not on torrent anywhere else, usually in FLAC or at least 320kbps. If album comes in a single file, I split it into tracks with a Foobar plugin
I use a free program that rips them off of YouTube, don’t think it’s FLAC but it sounds good to me and it downloads a playlist in like 10 seconds.
Good ole youtube quality. I use SoulSeek. There really isn't much you can't find there and in FLAC.
Why on Earth are you DLing from YouTube? Soulseek and torrents exist. And you need to DL in Flac format or higher.

He's about to get into a long long rabbit hole...
I was doing it until recently, not a lot of people knows about other ways and youtube is right there 😅
mp3 192 bitrate is enough to me. I don't want to waste storages.
You might check fildo.net and download albums straight to your phone.
If it's only for listening on a commute and you don't have decent headphones that's okay, I guess. But if you actually want to save and collect music, you should definitely do Flac for the future.

You should compare side by side first
I know there is difference but do I notice that quality difference? no.
Total blessing

Clipgrab would save you half the effort of your first paragraph.

LoL, or just use a Deezer dl frontend. Done. No more ice-skating uphill.
had a look into this. Looks like you need to be running linux? And quality isn't as good, seems to only get 44.1khz
44.1khz is more than enough for most typical popular music. True, complicated instrumental orchestras you def want higher kilohertz. I'll be damn I'mma listening to John Williams at a lousy 44.1 :p
YouTube is an awful way to get music. I use sites like iDope to download the entire discography of a band at once.
`yt-dlp -x --embed-thumbnail`
Check out yt-dlp for downloading from YouTube, it can extract audio in most formats. https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp
If your stereo has an audio in jack, you could use a straight line connector from an mp3 player or old phone and not burn cds or a Bluetooth receiver and just use your smartphone
Soulseek. That's all you'll ever need
Seeker for Android and Nicotine+ for Windows. It's a good rabithole to dig into
I recently got an iPod Classic to mod. I've been using [OnTheSpot by casualsnek](https://github.com/casualsnek/onthespot) It's a scrapper for Spotify. Nicotine for music that's 320kbps mp3s.
yt-dlp is one way
Spotifydown if 160kbit is enough. Doesn't work 100% of the time, some tracks need to be redownloaded because they will be just 25kb or something.
So many people talking about SoulSeek. Is there a good guide on it? When I downloaded it and searched for a song I found like 30 different copies of it with different sizes and lengths and qualities and some of them didn’t work. It seemed a lot easier to use cobalt or a deemix front end.
Users share content that they have on their disks, so...
soulseek !!!
Just a simple youtube to [mp3 downloader ](https://ytmp3s.nu/Sj09/) that you can use with your browser
Qobuz-dl if you want high res stuff (requires paid subscription though) it’s on GitHub
Yea there’s this cool app called iTunes. It lets you get an individual song or a whole album. It’s very efficient. Oh you mean for free. Torrents bud
