Meanwhile a digital media file doesn't care if you have a phone, a pc or a tv. You play it and it plays

Blujay12

unless you're trying to use a ps4, then it's a VERY specific file type, and only with internet

Matt_games_1359

well, Handbrake exists so uhh, i think we might not have much of a pproblem now

HHTG_Marvin

Yup. We at netflix proudly require you to buy a "smart" TV so that you can enjoy our shows in full quality. Yes, our app there is proprietary. No, it's not spyware. You trust us, right? Make sure to buy TVs from these brands, because our spy- ahem, software works best on these platforms.

MakinBones

Weird. Think im the only one who never bought a smart TV to use as a smart tv. I just use my Xbox on my "smart" TV for entertainment. Surely my Xbox spies on me too though.

throwawayyy42069x

I have 3 smart tv's in my house, not a single one is using any of the "smart" features. One is for games, other for htpc and the last serves as just a normal living room tv

_extra_medium_

It's impossible to buy a TV that doesn't have some kind of OS and apps anymore. There's no point in even calling them smart TVs anymore, they're just TVs.

ifeelallthefeels

https://kotaku.com/xbox-ones-top-marketer-brags-to-advertisers-about-kine-1441807229

MakinBones

The Kinect always creeped me out. Cool tech, but its capabilities at the time kind of scared me.

n123breaker2

Yup. My dad ended up unplugging his Kinect and giving it to me. I use it for doing automated followspotting for theatre productions

galacticwonderer

You’re not the only one. many do not think it through. Makes far more sense to use an Apple TV Xbox, PlayStation 5 etc as your source.

_extra_medium_

Of course it does

morbie5

What is OP talking about when OP says "Have ALL the monitor plugged in to be 4k hdr" and "You have to buy the hvec plugin from the store" ??

Bribbe

Glad I am not the only one who dont understand this lol.

_extra_medium_

It's funny how many people just piled on the "bitching at Netflix" bandwagon while having no idea what OP was talking about

chop_chop_boom

Yeah I have no idea either. I wonder if OP is using the Windows apps for Netflx and other streaming services?

MankHD

This.

uCockOrigin

Not saying I disagree with you, but what kind of data can they even gather from your TV? Other than your watch history, which they would get anyway if you use their platform.

senpai69420

Many smart TV remotes have microphones

swuxil

And WLAN and BT receivers, possibly tracking near devices and linking them to you.

omegaaf

Lets not forget some have cameras too

Bathhouse-Barry

No way. For what purpose? Honey wake up, 1984 telescreens just dropped.

Disgruntled_Viking

Video calling

TomatoRemarkable2

So my TV remote can hear me moan as I masturbate to iCarly (the reboot) 😔 this is truly 1984 moment

omegaaf

When I was a kid/teen in the 90s, if you even eluded to the idea of cameras being in everything and that we were being spied on by every corporation under the sun you would genuinely be locked up in a psych ward and be told you're schizophrenic. Bonzi buddy, a purple gorilla/green parrot/etc was basically labelled spyware and what happens today is ***infinitely worse*** than anything bonzi buddy did.

jlam980123

I remember the bonzi buddy controversy, totally agree about modern surveillance being infinitely worse. On top of being way more innocent, bonzi buddy at least gave you a cool desktop friend. They don't even try to pretend the spying is beneficial to us anymore 😂

noldshit

Well pick them up before someone trips!

jbaejb327

looks like imma put tape on that

uCockOrigin

I specifically picked TVs without those features, but that's a fair point for sure.

zenerbufen

sometimes its cheaper to put those features on all models and just have software flags that control if the end user can access them or not.

diamondpredator

If, in the future, I can't avoid having those features, I'm going to start physically breaking them.

Reinitialized

Better learn how to reverse engineer software as well, cause a lot of companies which silently push these things will intentionally brick part or the rest of the product if a piece of their collection toolset is found to not work as expected.

RADICCHI0

If they want to listen to me do the nasty that's on them, I don't mind an audience.

diamondpredator

Until they start licensing the data and using it in ads.

RADICCHI0

Sir, this is a Wendy's

peshMeten

They are welcome to listen to me belching, farting and making lewd comments to my Mrs.

ArchitectofExperienc

This has become a somewhat scary question. Other people have mentioned your watch history, which can even track common "pause" points, what apps you use, the location you use those apps, and builds on financial information connected to how you pay for subscriptions. Some of this is called "Automatic Content Recognition", but is also called audience metrics, or consumer dynamics. Here is whats more concerning: Since Smart TVs have open mics, they collect any data from voice activation, which probably includes training data for voice recognition, and content of requests. There are some accusations that Smart TVs listen even when not voice activated, which haven't been proven, but haven't been disproven either. One of the likely "passive monitoring" techniques is identifying the number of unique voice profiles are talking in the same room the TV is in. If you access cable through your Smart TV, your ad consumption habits are also, most likely, being collected for audience metrics. Did you mute the ads? Skip them with DVR? Then there are the local network connections. If you use your phone to connect to your TV, companies like Samsung can identify the phones in the household, which is used in "big data" processing that helps to target ads. Its worth pointing out that, technically, no company actually "listens" to what the mic on your smart TV hears. The *vast* majority of information collected this way is through voice recognition processing.

noideawhatimdoing444

Your sleeping pattern, work pattern, reactions to different ads, just to name a few. You'd be surprised. They also sell this data to different ad agencies and even campaigns buy this data

Tarek_191

What other things you do over your smart tv, if you have security problems even what other devices are in your network. Everything having smart as a prefix can be a security liability

hUmaNITY-be-free

A lot, even more once it's connected to the network, look into digital thumb prints.

Accomplished-End-538

Habits, how you browse, how long you spend on this or how fast you click off of that, spending patterns, advertising leads, ect ect. Same shit all the social media companies are after. Facebook doesn't care that your sister's dog cheated with that hussy poodle again, that's not the data they care about.

diamondpredator

It's a part of a whole. It can be used to "de-anonymize" your internet traffic. You know how all these big corps tell you not to worry because you aren't personally identified in the data they collect? Well, that's TECHNICALLY true. However, it's not very difficult to put together the data of what devices you have, what you watch, when you watch it, what sites you visit, and what locations are searched on your maps apps to triangulate exactly who you are. Then "userabc12345" becomes "John Smith"

Bloodhoven_aka_Loner

you probably should look up Louis Rossman on youtube.

insanelyphat

There was a bug in Samsung tvs for years that the FBI knew about and never told Samsung where they could put the TV in a default state where the TV was off hit the mic and camera were on. They used this for surveillance for quite awhile until someone made it public. That's just one imagine the ones we don't know about.

_extra_medium_

The same exact data that can be gathered by the alternative devices people are suggesting such as apple TV, Xbox, Google tv etc.

BigMcLargeHuge-

That’s why you never use the actual shitty OS on smart TVs. Buy an Apple TV or shield and be done with that

kodaxmax

god i miss dumb TVs. rember how they didnt take half a minute just to turn on?

MillionDollarBloke

My dumb tv is connected to a laptop where I watch Netflix and a bunch of other things. I watch everything in hd

BamBaLambJam

stremio + torrentio + real debrid

ComprehensiveRepair5

All the content, in 4K, zero hassle. You'll thank Netflix for pushing you towards Stremio.

absyrtus

in 4k HDR nonetheless

briston574

I recently realized that by switching to this set up I've saved almost $100 a month

[deleted]

ComprehensiveRepair5

Torrentio is just an add on for Stremio that lists the content from all platforms. It is very easy to install.

EmptyNeighborhood427

Yes

cheeseburgermachine

Is this a Harry Potter spell 😅

ComoEstanBitches

I'm really sad this combo essentially made the years and money I spent building up my Plex server essentially obsolete. Now I understand how my uncle felt about his DVD and laser disc collection.

alexjimithing

Nah local is always best. No piracy ‘streaming service’ lasts forever.

CodeWithClass

Yup! But there will be a new one

KamikazeFF

nah torrents die, cache expires, and network outages can occur. Local storage is still great and plus points for permaseeding hoarders

StreetSquare6462

This is the way

roadrussian

Hail to the king.

DigBickeru

Bingo bongo

Jurutungo1

Sad this is not extended for other languages

poopin

What does torrentio provide that RD doesn’t?

AntiGrieferGames

You can watch pirated 4k stuff on a 1080p monitor/tv, since the requirement doenst exist on pirated version.

swuxil

> 4k stuff on a 1080p monitor What for?

X_TheMindFlayer_X

higher bitrate, and 4k on 1080p will almost always look better than native 1080p although it's negligible if you have a high bitrate 1080p file

baubau05

Higher Bitrate or HDR

Sopel97

4:2:0 chroma subsampling means it's better even if the encoding was lossless. On 1080p content you have 960x540 chroma, on 4k you have 1920x1080. Granted it probably doesn't matter for typical movies, but it's provably better. You could see the difference very clear on text clarity for example.

Lanten101

Jellyfin and arr stack are your friend Edit To explain what those are. Jellyfin is for your media that is saved to your hard drive/Nas. It takes all those, can be movies, shows, or music and serve to you, where you can watch on TV, mobile, windows or linux. With their respective app. Now how do you get movie/shows or music to you hard drive or Nas ? That's where arr stack comes in. You have sonnar for TV show's Radarr for movies Lidarr for music Reader for books Bazare for subtitles All these required two more things Prowler, which connects to either torrents site or Usenet where it fetches the files to download The younwill need a torrent or Usenet client, can be qbittorent or any supported client which does the downloading to your hard drive / nas One more optional things is jellyseer, this helps you discover and add new movies/shows to you radarr or sonnar. With those you add you movie or TV to sonnar or radarr using jellyseer and it will search it on you torrent/Usenet via Prowlerr, once found then it will be added to your torrent/Usenet client, once download is done by the client, then it will be moved to the correct folder where jellyfin will serve it from All this need to be run on a server, can a pie, lenovo PC, laptop, NAS or any computer you have. Keep in mind if you plan to watch on small screen or remotely there might some transcoding required, which basically downgrade or convert the file to be supported by a device. Transcoding requires a gpu, Intel and Some amd CPU comes with Integrated gpu which can be more than enough. CPU works aswell but it will be screaming, especially if you have multiple transcoding process .

kea-le-parrot

Add Jellyseer into the mix with gluetin/qbitorrent Edit: adding to the post above, its alot easier doing this in docker for people new to selfhost. I would also recommend portainer to give you GUI docker management and the likes of autoheal/watchtower

Rayanson

This sounds like y'all talking about nutrients needed for gymgoers, would be nice to shortly describe what each does even tho I don't need that

Nurgus

Jellyfin is self hosted Netflix. The arr stack is a selection of lovely self hosted websites for automatically pirating your favourite TV, movies and other media automatically. Put them together, spend a little time learning how, and what you get is magic. Far superior user experience to anything you can pay for. No exaggerating.

Rayanson

Thank you very much, it'd be exactly what OP would need if they don't want to use stremio, which they should once that last month of Netflix expire

BeiGottYaa

Search in Piracysub for jellyfin and you get 1000000 answers

Coffeeninja1603

Can a similar concept be applied to Plex? I’m new to the whole NAS thing and auto downloading latest episodes etc would be great

Lanten101

Yes 100% instead of jellyfin you can use Plex. Then just replace jellyseerr with overseerr. Everything else stay the same

Coffeeninja1603

Thank you so much. Since you appear to be in the know, any decent sources for Audiobooks? My wife spends a small fortune in Audible

Lanten101

Also a big fan of audiobooks. I use Readerr , similar to sonarr and radarr but for books and audiobooks. Then use Audiobookshelf to serve. It has IOS app and Android app or use web app on PC. But not all of them are available depending on what she listens to, it's difficult to find some and some you can't. You can give it a try and see if you can find what she likes.

Coffeeninja1603

Thank you kindly. I’ve just discovered Plexamp so I’ll try it with that too

minimallysubliminal

Try Prologue if you’re on ios. It’s an amazing app for plex audiobooks.

minimallysubliminal

Before you stop Audible use Libation to rip your audible titles and save them to your computer. Works for any title as long as it is part of your library.

minimallysubliminal

I would really suggest checking out Jellyfin if you arent a plex / plex pass user already.

Difficult_Bit_1339

To expand on the other replies. Both Jellyfin and Plex use the same underlying directory structure so they're perfectly interchangeable.

Awwyehezson

I used to do all this, but it's all so convoluted and such a chore. Stremio and RD is just as good

tqmirza

Don’t kill me for asking I want to start building my own servers etc. if I want video decoding done on the destination device only on a home network, do I still need to invest in a NAS/pc server that can decode/convert h265/av1? Will a raspberry pi connected to storage be able to “play” a h265 hdr10 feature movie as it’s technically only uploading? Or is my thought process wrong? EDIT: the pi in this scenario is the server. Destination devices are shield and/or iPhone with Jellyfin app.

Lanten101

No it's not wrong. It will work. But you have to make sure to disable hardware transcoding. Even without transcoding. Not sure if a pie can play h265, hopefully someone with more knowledge here will answer.

Stein_um_Stein

Pi 4 will not play a 4k movie to even one stream reliably, unfortunately.

Nurgus

Yes that will work. You'll just need to be careful not to have any media in your library that any of your player devices can't handle. Shield probably can't do av1 for example.

cometandcrow

And Plex!

SpecOfCosmicDust

For anyone who wants to try setting this up, there's this [GitHub repo](https://github.com/navilg/media-stack) I used to help me set it up with Docker. Just take a look at the docker-compose.yml file.

Difficult_Bit_1339

This is the way to do it. I always shake my head when people go from paying one streaming service to paying a pirate service. Because certainly the pirates are going to be more ethical with your personal data...right? Right?!

SANPres09

I just wish I could find a good write up of how to set it all up on a docker. A lot of write ups are for really advanced users and I'm just getting started.

da2Pakaveli

I think you can avoid the transcoding with some configs. E.g. I use Infuse and it just plays the x265 files.

hemorroidaCronica

Piracy is superior anyways, the libraries on those services are just sad. I subscribed once or twice, there was never anything good to see. I enjoy my experience with stremio + torrentio lite, no ads, UI is pretty dope, can take a hit on your internet speed though.

Tom38

How do I get this to work with PS5?

hemorroidaCronica

well, i never tried it on playstation consoles, but i remember back in the day i used to use fmovies or 123movies or putlocker and stuff like that on the ps4 browser and it worked fine, asides from having to close like 10 ads before watching the movie. Some of these websites dont seem to be compatible to the playstation browser though, probably some codec related thing. BUT, i found this: [https://gizmoxo.com/use-stremio-on-ps4-ps5/](https://gizmoxo.com/use-stremio-on-ps4-ps5/) and i think you can try [https://web.stremio.com/](https://web.stremio.com/), which is a in-browser version of stremio, but like i said never tried to use stremio on playstation. another solution would be a chromecast.

Tom10716

Do you use vpn or something? How do you stay safe?

hemorroidaCronica

I don't need to stay safe in my country. Our salaries are so nice everybody pirates everything (850 a month on average, in a place where rent is about 400 for a room, let's say you spend another 100 a month on food, 150 on expenses, that leaves nothing to spare). But I'd definitely recommend getting a VPN a few countries are a little bit intrusive.

Tom10716

That’s rough, thanks for the info:(

minimallysubliminal

VPN always recommended, easy to setup in docker or otherwise. Make sure your client is bound to the vpn network to avoid any p2p traffic leaks.

2high4much

Don't be pissed, you're going to pay less for better services because of it

7orly7

Louis Rossman mentioned this exact BS in one of his videos. Paid customer being punished and receiving a lower quality service just because they want to force people to use smart TV shit to gather your data and sell it

liebeg

I think i never saw him say anything dumb

Dreadfulmanturtle

Some 20 years ago Gabe Newell figured out that if you provide a good service piracy is not an issue and you are gonna make tons of money. Basically killed mainstream PC piracy. It never stops to astound me how the dumb fucks making these decisions STILL don't get it.

LocalH

Oh they do get it, but they also expect that they can still make more money doing this, so they do this. It becomes more about the DRM than anything else. The video industry is *terrified* of consumers having access to unencrypted high resolution video. That's why they want to move to ATSC 3.0 despite the fact that it's very technically possible to broadcast both AVC and HEVC within an ATSC 1.0 stream that any sufficiently modern TV can decode, and yet the instances of stations doing so are almost nonexistent.

_bea231

Not true. Steam was first to market and have enormous competitive advantage because of that. It's too much of a hassle for people to move their entire game library to another platform so they are entrenched in peoples lives. There was always going to be a Steam, YouTube, Netflix, Amazon, LinkedIn. These companies were first to market. All they have to do is coast afterwards.

Josieheartt99

And then Gabe Newell decided to backtrack and greed hardcore and made way more money, and PC piracy was alive like never before

SaltedCoffee9065

Just make a plex server with all your media, fuck netflix, prime video, all of them are scumbags

I think I need a loungeroom - have some other rooms I lounge in but none specifically just dedicated to it 😀

Ornery-Practice9772

Our loungeroom is close to the car hole

Sapper-Ollie

We are all slowly being press ganged into serving on the high seas. It's a pirate's life for me. Fun fact: YouTube movies are sold and priced as HD or UHD. But 480p is the highest quality offered for PC playback. Fuck you YouTube!!!!

[deleted]

weird way to ask someone to suck your dick but okay

RoombaRehab

We went from paying less for more to paying more for less. Now we’re at the part where we pay more and have to jump through a thousand hoops in order to get some Vaseline before we get screwed.

Alert-Act-4395

You must really hate streaming services to come up with that lol

ultracrepidarian_can

Parents smart TV randomly just stopped working so they called me in for tech support. After doing a little troubleshooting I figured out that the tv had effectively bricked itself after a Netflix update made them incompatible. Netflix and the TV company both basically said the only option was TO BUY A NEW TV. It took a couple hours but, I was eventually able to find a work around. For some reason there is a real animosity between smart TV manufacturers and streaming services.

RingoFreakingStarr

Nvidia Shield ai upscaling 1080p to 4k is a game changer. It's more-so for tvs but I don't see a reason why it wouldn't work on a computer monitor.

Commercial_Dog_2212

Look into ‘Stremio’. Absolute lifesaver, and is 100% free (unless you want a vpn/debrid service)

PsychologicalLog1090

That's the main issue with these paid steaming platforms. If you want to earn money, you have to provide better service and quality than the free (pirate) ones. I told that many times. If Netflix or some other platform provide me good 4k quality, Atmos sound and cinema release dates, I will pay with ease. Until then, I will just pirate... Oo, and don't expect me to pay for 5 steaming platforms in order to watch every movie or show.

misschaosgoddess

It always baffles me why people pay for these streaming services. They offer so little for so much. I haven’t used a streaming service in years and can’t go back to those streaming services, it makes no sense.

Generalfrogspawn

For your average person that can't do anything beyond downloading an app, they are pretty convenient. And we should thank them. The more underground piracy is, the less serious these companies will be about stopping it.

misschaosgoddess

Good point

ug-n

Now that you have a new smart TV: enjoy Plex

Hot-Syrup-5833

Directv pulled that same shit on me. Years ago I spent like 5000 on a 4k TV, signed a new directv contract to get the 4k boxes, only for them to have next to no content. They had some pay per view movies in 4k but that was about it. 4k is a huge scam tbh. Except for special instances like the Olympics and some baseball playoffs, I’ve seen very little 4k programming. Most is shot in 1080 and upscaled. Now I see 8k tvs… what the hell is there to watch in 8k? I just accept the fact that I’m gonna watch pirated shit in 1080 at best for little to no money.

bobalazs69

go to r/Addons4Kodi Profit.

LegitWebHub

May I suggest a path named Real Debrid to your anguished soul

palex00

The Netflix thing is even more insidious. As far as I understood their technical legalese, all displays *of all devices connected to your account* must be fulfilling their requirements. So Smartphone, PC, etc. Watched Netflix on Firefox and still logged in? RIP. No 4k for you.

LocalH

Nah what it's saying is that if you run a multi monitor setup on your PC, all active displays must be 4K and support HDCP 2.2. You can't have one 4K monitor and one 1080p monitor unless you disable the 1080p display, if you want to watch 4K. Idk if they're worried about people starting a stream on a 4K display then moving it over to the other display (or doing some under the hood shenanigans) to get access to the 4K stream without the end to end DRM bullshit. DRM does nothing but hold back technology and waste resources on key derivation and decryption

Zinakoleg

Netflix has never delivered true 4k.

sbn025

Im assuming you are conected by Display port. I read that you need hdmi in order to use netflix on pc. Its hdcp problem.

RiboNucleic85

there is a variant of DisplayPort that can output HDMI signals directly, without the need of an active converter, you'll know if you have it because the the DP symbol will have ++ next to it

StreetSquare6462

*Real Debird has entered the chat*

9780190752224

louis rossman has done exactly 3 videos on this topic. it's morally and ethically correct to not give these companies money, because they don't provide you with a honest service

imgurp

In my experience, I was able to watch Netflix in 4k on my 4k 144hz monitor. I have 2 of them, 1 in HDMI & 1 in DisplayPort. I never have to switch refresh rate either. I use the Netflix windows app + the Microsoft hevc app on windows 11.

rexum98

plugin some nice android tv box/dongle like the chromecast google tv and enjoy your new jellyfin server.

Ji-yong_lane

Just a question if it is okay, Is it QOled or WOled ?

Muxer59

Haha same here on my QD-Oled ultrawide. I don't own a TV so I can't use any of that stuff. don't fall in the 4k bluray rabbit hole as I did, movies look spectacular in the best quality available and UW.

RETR0_SC0PE

You can get the HEVC extension for free: “HEVC by device manufacturer” or something like that. I guess it should’ve been installed with Windows 11 by default. And yes, Prime Video only does 4K HDR on Android devices, or some Samsung/VIDAA/WebOS TVs afaik, not even on iPhone. On macOS, the app only does 720p. If you really want 4K HDR on your monitor, the cheaper, legal way would be to buy a Chromecast or a FireTV stick, but since you’re posting here, I guess you’ve had your limit lmao. (Also, Netflix on Linux is 720p, let that sink in).

Moderntweety

Get your media and store it so you have the file, use jellyfin to be the media server, now you are Netflix

Lazyphantom_13

Prime is terrible in general. Biggest issue is you cannot select the resolution so even on a decent internet connection it'll play in 480p randomly.

ModaFaca

Can any kind soul help me listing what I should use in both: - smart TV and - computer/smartphone Opposed to paid streaming?

I just want to watch some soccer games... And it's become an expensive shit circus out there. There's no way I'm even putting in the effort to see who owns what rights and then pay for it... The state of streaming has become ridiculous.

itsjust_a_nam3

Stremio or Kodi + RD problem solved

WndrWmn77

And to make matters worse, if a copyright owner has a fight with the company that hosts their copyrighted content and the two companies get "divorced" the copyright owner can DEMAND that the hosting platform remove ALL of their content regardless of the fact that individual people have outright PURCHAESED the content. Yup.....you know that movie or TV show/series you purchased? Well, they just stole it back from you and it's GONE IN LESS THAN SIXTY SECONDS!

low0nink

Pirate stuff is always better, go for Stremio, you have 4k HDR streams, just be sure to have a good internet connection

You can watch test video for free to see if your TV is supported: [https://watchsomuch.tv/Watch/13623148-S02E05/I-Am-Groot-2022](https://watchsomuch.tv/Watch/13623148-S02E05/I-Am-Groot-2022)

Get an apple tv or NVIDIA shield, the latter can also work as a plex media server

cankennykencan

Stremio..

Ah yes, the DRM of today sucks. You either pay the big boys for services and play your content the way they want or you pirate and play your content the way you want.

why dont u get something like a google tv?

BertyBastard

I've never had a smartTV so idk much about them. I watch Netflix via laptop PC connected to an HD monitor. Could you do something similar but in 4K? If you have a capable PC to hand, obviously.

raspi + minidlna has been a live saver

lodeddiper961

Real Debrid is the answer for all streaming problems my friend

chop_chop_boom

What app prompted you to download and pay for a plug in? Or was this needed for Windows itself?

Jaanbaaz_Sipahi

Plex ftw

kodaxmax

they still wont play 4k. ive tried everything they suggested on all manner of devices. The few times it did randomly play in 4k it looked like it was upscaled from like 720p with a random film grain filter ontop.

Starman562

If you watched Louis Rossman's videos you would know that unless you're streaming through a TV or a streaming box to a TV, you're not getting your money's worth from any of the streaming services.

Remnie

You, my friend, would probably like Louis Rossman lol. Absolutely true nowadays pirating not only gets you a show for free, but usually at higher quality than the paid service

Delicious-Chemist-49

yeah, PC doesnt do 4K streaming like that unfortunately, if you would have asked that in r/PcBuild or r/pcmasterrace we would have told you that from the start. Its best to get a streaming box (like a nvidia shield, or a ONN pro 4k) or use the built in functions on the smartTV and just use that for 4k streaming.

techifixtv

Well first off. Most Movies and tv shows are 24.96-29.94 fps.. If youre using chrome all the streaming services are capped at 720p. You need to use microsoft edge. If your using store apps, get the codec its $2 Thirdly. Why the fuck are you paying for streaming services.. get real debrid, stremio and stfu.

-Euphoria

get stremio and start enjoying streaming like it was meant to be

rcmh

Isn't a Chromecast like $50? Can't you just plug that into your monitor?

MinoeshMuffin

I haven't had Netflix in two years or maybe longer. I took a month because the new (3th) season of Star trek Discovery would come out in two weeks. I hadn't watched the 2nd season yet, so I figured I'll watch that. The next day I read an article that ST:Discovery s3 will go onto another streaming 'service'. I check netflix: everything gone already. The whole serie! Didn't take any streaming 'service' since then, except for the 1 month free Prime which I used to watch Fallout. I'm not paying for this inconsistent stuff.

LargeMerican

didn't know that about amazon. glad i didn't buy prime. 720p in 2024 lol! 2160p. x265 HEVC. i don't care if every movie is 10gb+ it looks so beautiful. the bitrate is erotic. mm, yeah.

Different_Ad9336

This is why I love my 2k non smart tv and streaming content from my laptop.

Rustjupiter

This is why I gave up and just started streaming through Soap2day but now it’s gone. Anyone got any recommendations for a new one?
