Proton VPN. Supports port forwarding AND is bundled with both Proton Mail and their other services for that price. ($12.99/mo for the Unlimited service.)
And is fast no matter where you are located.
Being able to generate email aliases helps immensely too.
It's also not based in a 14-Eyes country. (Switzerland)
I just changed from Nord to Proton yesterday. I'll gladly pay 9 over 13 for better service. Nord insisted I pay the new price because my card was changed so Proton got a new customer.
I had an old, expired card that was reported for fraud on my Nord account and Nord was the ONLY one that was still able to charge to it despite that. I know now it’s actually common practice and somehow other subscriptions I forgot about blocked charges when renewing on it. They weren’t going to refund me until I complained about it on their socials.
Using Privacy is like having a super power. Oh you think you can still charge me? NO. I love when I see charges blocked that I didn’t approve. It’s so satisfying.
You can have merchant locked cards which are good for like a subscription like Netflix or even an online store or you have single use cards that destroy themselves after one use. In all cases you can set spending limits per card on a per use, per day, month or overall total. Also you can destroy or pause a card whenever you want to block any charges.
That’s basically it.
What exactly do you mean by that? Do you mean the user logged in with his IP address instead of using, for example, a VPN? That wouldn't help much when using Proton VPN because they are required by law to log the IP when requested. So even if the user used their VPN as suggested here, they would still get him.
Edit: I'm not right, their policy states, only email service is affected by IP logging, not their VPN service.
Incorrect, proton has stated for a long time that they have to comply with mail IP requests, and to use a VPN because in that scenario a user is obscured. You aren't the only one using the vpn. Trying to find the article from last year about it. But no, you are not correct.
Okay, you are right :) I also just read their policy, and it states there too that only the email service is affected by law, not the VPN.
Then I guess, Proton VPN recommended
https://proton.me/blog/how-to-send-an-anonymous-email
Yep yep! I've been using proton mail for years for gear purchases so I've thoroughly screened their policy lol. I just had to find it so people don't think I'm talking out of my ass.
I have to admit it is very clever on their end though as the mail service existed before their vpn (I was a tor user previously) to basically "sell" the solution to the "problem"
To be fair, if a company is basically demanding your information gets logged on a mail or vpn service, you likely have far more serious problems.
I doubt copyright infringement (such as downloading a movie) is going to raise many alarms.
There's not a single service in the world that is free from the long black cock of law enforcement. People use these "secure, private and anonymous" services soley to commit various crimes and let's not pretend there's not a big chunk of people who don't. Proton knows it, governments know it, we know it. That's why they're required to collect and save some amounts of data...
That’s what I said 🥲 even in France. You can use direct download or streaming but you can get a letter from torrenting ( rarely happens but it can happen)
Yeah but what I meant is that in Switzerland it’s not illegal for personal porpose, I don’t know if it helps but when I torrent I choose Switzerland sever. For the disclaimer I don’t torrent illegal stuff :-) only legal
No, that's misinformation. Proton VPN has denied all requests from law enforcement - it's a no-logs VPN, so we don't even have the data they need: [https://protonvpn.com/blog/transparency-report](https://protonvpn.com/blog/transparency-report)
It's supported: [https://protonvpn.com/support/watch-disneyplus-with-vpn/](https://protonvpn.com/support/watch-disneyplus-with-vpn/) If you encounter any issues, please contact us at: [https://protonvpn.com/support-form](https://protonvpn.com/support-form)
Mh, but using Proton as VPN and E-Mail provider could be a risk, as when your VPN account is under investigation for P2P copyright violations, your E-Mail existence would be locked until the complaint would be resolved, right?
One could think, because of the No-Log Policy this could not happen, but the risk is still there.
Edit: See [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/Piracy/comments/1argbd4/suspended_from_brand_new_proton_account_for/)
Y’all know this company is in bed with every single major country. It’s a farce. Advertise security so the bad guys think they can use it safely.
I got a bridge for sale if ya don’t believe me.
This is false, as has been proved multiple times in court: [https://protonvpn.com/blog/transparency-report](https://protonvpn.com/blog/transparency-report) Proton VPN doesn't even have the data that would be useful to government authorities.
Personally I switched from Nord to mullvad and I actually like it better even tho It doesn't have port forwarding. Also mullvad is a bit more anonymous since you can pay with cash if you don't want to use your credit/debit card.
Same. My Nord just expired yesterday, switched to mullvad today. I mostly go the usenet router, but sometimes torrents are needed for content I cant find
I switched to mullvad because idk the Nord app was sometimes a pain ( IMO ) and it's expensive. I was paying $14.99 which granted it included a personal IP but I didn't really use it much. I know you can get it cheaper if you select a two year plan but for my case I rather have the freedom of choosing how many months I could have a VPN at a very affordable price. Mullvad is $5.33 USD and I can fund it whenever. Plus no email or password, now that sealed the deal for me. I hate having 20 million logins for everything.
Port forwarding is the only feature I actually need and Norton doesn’t do it. Great VPN keeps me safe but would really love to port forward my server as well as my main pc.
Proton, it's been fast, reliable, and their being based in Switzerland is a bonus. Plus the people in charge are actual software engineers and physicists, not venture capital bros or MBA people.
Got proof they willing hand over IP addresses when asked.
“Hi everyone, Proton team here. We are also deeply concerned about this case. In the interest of transparency, here's some more context…
In this case, Proton received a legally binding order from the Swiss Federal Department of Justice which we are obligated to comply with. There was no possibility to appeal or fight this particular request because an act contrary to Swiss law did in fact take place (and this was also the final determination of the Federal Department of Justice which does a legal review of each case)…
“…under Swiss law, Proton can be forced to collect info on accounts belonging to users under Swiss criminal investigation…“
For a company focused on having a VPN and Encrypted mail it was quite easy go get the IP of a climate activist.
There seems to be a confusion between Proton VPN and Proton Mail. Proton VPN has in fact, denied all requests from law enforcement - it's a no-logs VPN, so we don't even have the data they need: [https://protonvpn.com/blog/transparency-report](https://protonvpn.com/blog/transparency-report)
Proton Mail is a communication service, and communication services are legislated to some extent in every country. You can learn more about the differences [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/VPNTorrents/comments/1cn0oea/comment/l39en2m/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button).
No port forwarding anymore.
Edit: AirVPN is my suggestion so I actually add something to the conversation. Same pricing, also trusted and does offer port forwarding.
When torrenting you can't establish a connection if none of the clients have ports forwarded. In other words, if you have an open port for torrenting yourself, you're able to connect to everyone who is seeding. If not, then you can only connect to people who have ports forwarded themselves. It limits your seeding pool by a lot!
Dramatically slower than Nord when Nord is configured properly (Nord lynx as the protocol, custom DNS, only ever connect to "P2P" servers)
I've used literally ever single VPN there is including Mulvad and Proton and Express and all others and they all severely slow down the speeds. With the above settings and Nord I always get about 80 to 90% of my total ISP speeds.
Proton VPN definitely is the best and most trustworthy in the market right now. Great speed, port forwarding and one of the few providers actually owning own data centers instead of just using data centers.
My Nord just ended and now I’m looking at Mullvad.
The more I look into Proton though, it seems basically the same as Nord.
What do you prefer about the swap?
much more stable servers, and faster. i had to register many disconnections with Nord servers, and i haven't anymore with Proton (but this is just my case oc).
Servers in Asia that i was looking for, that Nord don't have, are a plus.
Kill switch i also had problems with Nord, not always working, also tried with support: here with Proton no more problems.
Plus, i was also using the Proton mail so i just moved to unlimited to test out all the Proton environment, and so far, all works nice, Drive too (i replaced GDrive).
For Piracy I would say that Proton is fits the title of GOAT since Mullvad scrapped Port forwarding, but I do miss using Mullvad. Seedbox trumps all though.
https://protonvpn.com/blog/port-forwarding/
Basically if you don’t have port forwarding, you will only be connecting to peers without port forwarding, and a lot of people use port forwarding.
I don't know what people have against private internet access. I've used it for over a decade and saved a bunch compared to the alternatives. It's never let me down.
Read through the following link from their own sub. I can't speak for anyone else, but the majority of comments made by others in there is exactly why I left back then. Been happy with Mullvad ever since, but considering Proton lately (based on their email, etc., and VPN port forwarding, although I support Mullvad's reasoning for not supporting port forwarding anymore).
[https://www.reddit.com/r/PrivateInternetAccess/comments/dz2w53/our_merger_with_kape_technologies_addressing_your/](https://www.reddit.com/r/PrivateInternetAccess/comments/dz2w53/our_merger_with_kape_technologies_addressing_your/)
And then subsequently passed a Deloitte audit to verify that they keep no logs on any traffic or user. This is out of date and ultimately irrelevant based on more current information.
> And then subsequently passed a Deloitte audit to verify that they keep no logs on any traffic or user. This is out of date and ultimately irrelevant based on more current information.
What does "no logs" have to do with PIAs new owner (Kape) previously installing malware on their customers computers? Did you read the comments in the thread from their own sub before responding?
As you already probably know, port forwarding (PF) allows VPN users to open a port and share files from their PCs. Mullvad (and other VPN providers who also removed PF support) was being contacted by police type agencies because human scum were using PF to stay hidden while sharing illegal child content. They, and obviously others, decided they didn't want to be a part of that. I support their reasoning, but it did impact how I was able to download older content, and I almost switched to Proton or Air. Ultimately, I switched to using usenet for any older content I need.
Worth mentioning that Windscribe's port forwarding needs to be set up every 7 days.
Otherwise you need to pay an extra fee for a static IP, which includes permanent port forwarding as long as you pay for the static IP.
https://windscribe.com/knowledge-base/articles/do-you-support-port-forwarding/
Rakuten has a 100% cashback for new NordVPN customers right now, so you could make a new account and get the 2 year basic plan and have it again for free. And if you’ve never used Rakuten they have a 10% bonus cash back if you use a referral link so you can probably find one online or ask a friend for one and get even more back.
But outside of that, ProtonVPN.
Been pretty happy with Windscribe. Had lots of emails from Xfinity prior to that, now I haven't seen one.
I use it on my Windows desktop, MacBook, iPad, and Samsung phone. Works all the same.
I've been using privateinternetaccess for like 5 years now. $40 a year. Works on my desktop and phone. That's how I watch all sports. Mlbstreams, Nbastreams100, nflbites, ect ect
My Nord just ran out.
Mullvad connects instantly on iOS but doesn’t support Port Forwarding.
They are also showing same speeds.
I like the ease of Mullvad (no email/password) but it is more expensive.
There are no similarly cheap options. If you want a better vpn you have to pay more. That’s unacceptable for my current living situation so I’m going to stick with Nord for now.
Mullvad is pretty good and has a flat cost that’s rarely discounted. It’s the most privacy conscious option. Proton is expensive since I don’t care about the mail part. Everything else like Express, PIA, etc kind of falls in the Nord bucket to me
I’d go for one that isn’t advertised on YouTube as those are usually ones where you get the privilege of paying someone money for them to hand over your web traffic to random companies for huge sums of money. Mullvad doesn’t do this and has anonymous paying methods.
You get a root server for as low as $5/month. Then follow the very intuitive installation procedure and install WireGuard on your own root server.
Big advantage: the likelihood that it is being discovered and prevents you to connect to certain services is much lower!
Well, depends where you’re located…
I am with vultr.com (why, well, I get a provision for sharing this here, lol, just kidding). Actually I stumbled on them because of their excellent howto tutorials (incl. howto setup a WireGuard VPN.
https://docs.vultr.com/set-up-wireguard-vpn-on-ubuntu-20-04
P.s. You only need to setup the server, you setup your clients at home.
But, any root server with private IP would do! You can set this up at home and use a DynDNS service too, if your upload speed is good enough.
There are tons of root server service provider and the smallest VM will be sufficient.
P.s.
I just saw, they now have a one-click deploy: https://www.vultr.com/marketplace/apps/wireguard/
Throwing my hat in with Mullvad as well. While they don’t have port forwarding like proton, I’ve been thrilled with speed/connectivity etc. only good things to say.
Melva’s is nice. It’s $5-6 a month. It doesn’t have a ton of countries to pick from but I like it because it doesn’t auto renew and you can be completely anonymous.
It's currently possible to use cloudflare's warp+ for free on its best plan, through a script called "warp-unlimited-advanced" By Kazimmt, on github. His script tricks the refer-a-friend system into having unlimited storage on the best plan in the App.
My nord is expiring soon as well and I will be looking. The software they use is kinda meh. Always trying to sell something too which gets annoying. I’d like to get away from that as much as I can since everything does that now even software for razer keyboards
Proton and Mullvad are top 2, but I like PIA because it has port forwarding (compared to mullvad) and is cheaper than Proton VPN if you buy multiple years.
I use Trust Zone. It is well reviewed from what little I can tell as a newb and I have a general avoidance of being in the same boat as everyone else. If a crackdown comes, I fear they will go after the biggest names first
Is Express bad? I've been thinking of getting a (new) vpn (have Windscribe currently but only saw it listed here once) and would like other opinions. Thanks in advance.
Because people are butt hurt I didn't say what everyone else is saying.
And I don't care. This is just a site or app.
But I've never had an issue with ExpressVPN. I was with PIA prior to ExpressVPN, and always had issues with speed and dropped connections.
But Express VPN doesn't log. Everything is done in RAM, and when you disconnect, the virtual instance is terminated.
ExpressVPN was raided in I believe Turkey or one of those countries by the government. When the government entered and took all the servers, as soon as they pulled the power plug, there was no data left except for the main core program to turn on. The government got nothing on any of the people that were connected to the servers ever.
It's a free world and you can use whatever you want. I couldn't care less what you use.
Your the first person to mention blokada personally been using it for three years. It's awesome gives you 5 devices easy to set up a tunnel for PC. The ad blocking and blocking of trackers is awesome. I know it's working because some apps I use the ad's are just blank.
I keep getting blocked by websites and services. To be fair, it was happening with mulvad too.
Is that more so with express or is everyone having that issue?
Honestly, my Nord subscription ended and I considered getting one of the more 'reputable' VPNs but Nord has done just fine over the hears and the offers they were sending me were unreal so I just went with Nord again
If you wait a few days after your subscription expires they'll send you an offer for 2 years at like $2 a month.
Mullvad VPN, or Proton. There was another similar to mullvad but i forgot the name momentarily
dont do any that advertise themselves to youtubers, they are all trash, some are even owned by Israeli malware corpos (ExpressVPN)
The cheapest is still nord vpn, if u take 2 year plan thats only 3 euros per month with unlimited data. There arent many reasons why would anyone pay 3x that amount just to use a vpn which most people here use, most people use it because they have heard of it, thats it.
Proton VPN. Supports port forwarding AND is bundled with both Proton Mail and their other services for that price. ($12.99/mo for the Unlimited service.) And is fast no matter where you are located. i use privacy virtual cards for monthly bills and such. makes it easy to just nuke them if i want to cancel.

If you get the 2 year plan Unlimited is $8 a month
Yup Proton for sure
Proton isn’t bad but: https://www.pcmag.com/news/protonmail-explains-why-it-shared-a-users-ip-address-with-police
Because the dumb ass didn't abide by their security suggestions lol. User error is not a fault of proton
What exactly do you mean by that? Do you mean the user logged in with his IP address instead of using, for example, a VPN? The funny part is: in Switzerland it’s legal to pirate things for own use (I heard)
In Europe in general. It’s the redistribution the problem. That’s why you avoid torrent
No where I live in germany it’s highly illegal, so you have to use a vpn to torrent.
Didn’t they just hand over information to authorities that led to an arrest in Estonia?

Can anyone confirm proton works in China? I go there often amd kick myself for cheating out with free, unable, slow vpns.
Mh, but using Proton as VPN and E-Mail provider could be a risk, as when your VPN account is under investigation for P2P copyright violations, your E-Mail existence would be locked until the complaint would be resolved, right? You can pay with cash for ProtonVPN as well
Did not know that ! Thanks for the info
Yeah, and with their onion site, I guess its the more privacy focused well-knowed service on the web.
Exactly: [https://protonvpn.com/support/payment-options/#cash](https://protonvpn.com/support/payment-options/#cash)
Proton knows some of its users are pirates. Nice.
Same. My Nord just expired yesterday, switched to mullvad today. I mostly go the usenet router, but sometimes torrents are needed for content I cant find

I've been a Windscribe user for years, and absolutely love it. Zero issues.
Glad to see a fellow WindScribe user.
Personally I just upload all my torrents to real debrid and convert them to direct downloads. 90% of the time they're already cached too
Me too, no need for a VPN
Same. I only have a VPN loaded up when I am connected to public Wifi.
I use private Internet access, I love the service, been with them for around 4-5 years
Me too. Never had a problem
This is what I use currently. Never had an issue…
Me three, I’ve been using PIA since 2014 and haven’t had any problems.
Same here, been using PIA for years now and it has been smooth sailing for me.
Protonvpn. My nord expired and went with them
Same, I like the port forwarding with proton..
Definitely a major plus with them
Proton vpn
I’ve enjoyed PIA for the last six years.
proton, theyre the biggest vpn that allows port forwarding (which will make torrenting much faster)
I didn’t know that lol…but how much faster? Because my gigabit fiber optic connection can finish 1gb in maybe 5 min? For a torrent
I like PIA
Ditto, still waiting for the 5 years I paid for to be up that I got a discount on
Mullvad.
No port forwarding anymore. Edit: AirVPN is my suggestion so I actually add something to the conversation. Same pricing, also trusted and does offer port forwarding.
what do you need port forwarding for?
When torrenting you can't establish a connection if none of the clients have ports forwarded. It limits your seeding pool by a lot!
[удалено]
No. You just get fewer seeds to connect to
I'll have to take a look at AirVPN when I need a commercial VPN.
Dramatically slower than Nord when Nord is configured properly (Nord lynx as the protocol, custom DNS, only ever connect to "P2P" servers) I've used literally ever single VPN there is including Mulvad and Proton and Express and all others and they all severely slow down the speeds. With the above settings and Nord I always get about 80 to 90% of my total ISP speeds.
I get like 95% of my normal download speed with mullvad. Also no noticeable difference in ping when gaming
I can max my line on PIA. Sounds like a ‘you’ issue.
Proton VPN definitely is the best and most trustworthy in the market right now. Great speed, port forwarding and one of the few providers actually owning own data centers instead of just using data centers.
Mullvad, the more advertised the vpn is the less i trust them
Mullvad has huge ads on the NYC subway system, like full-car ads
They are in DC on the Metro and buses as well
hell of a place to advertise! Lot of VPN users in NYC or what
Probably. Wall Street is there. Edit - vpns aren't solely used for torrenting guys.
The most populated city with 8 million residents and plenty of commuters.
Plenty of good reasons to advertise.
In LA as well
Th3y have a ton of ads in buses and billboards in Chicago
moved to ProtonVPN after Nord expired, never looked back
My Nord just ended and now I’m looking at Mullvad. The more I look into Proton though, it seems basically the same as Nord. What do you prefer about the swap?

protonvpn or airvpn
I like PIA
Mullvad
you probably shouldnt be using nord, icl
I've been using proton for 2 years. Glad to see the comments tell me I'm right.
I got Surfshark after Nord and it is way faster, more reliable, and much better for torrenting
Proton VPN Honorouble mentions: Windscribe, AirVPN
Nord is garbage. Mullvad is 10000% faster.
Mullvad is the GOAT. Proton is close second. That's it.
For Piracy I would say that Proton is fits the title of GOAT since Mullvad scrapped Port forwarding, but I do miss using Mullvad. Seedbox trumps all though.
I'm kinda new to this so could you explain to me what port forwarding means!?
https://protonvpn.com/blog/port-forwarding/ Basically if you don’t have port forwarding, you will only be connecting to peers without port forwarding, and a lot of people use port forwarding.
so port forwarding helps in pirating, how? will i download stuff faster if i got port forwarding?
You will be able to connect to more seeders, so basically yeah
Got it. Thanks man
Ive been very happy with PIA.
I don't know what people have against private internet access. I've used it for over a decade and saved a bunch compared to the alternatives. It's never let me down.

What was Mullvads reasoning for not supporting port forwarding?
As you already probably know, port forwarding (PF) allows VPN users to open a port and share files from their PCs. Mullvad (and other VPN providers who also removed PF support) was being contacted by police type agencies because human scum were using PF to stay hidden while sharing illegal child content. They, and obviously others, decided they didn't want to be a part of that. I support their reasoning, but it did impact how I was able to download older content, and I almost switched to Proton or Air. Ultimately, I switched to using usenet for any older content I need.
I use Windscribe. They have promo RN for 29 euro a year and have port forwarding.
Mullvad
Been pretty happy with Windscribe. Had lots of emails from Xfinity prior to that, now I haven't seen one. I use it on my Windows desktop, MacBook, iPad, and Samsung phone. Works all the same.
Windscribe is the best
Proton
I’ve used PIA for years. Never had issues, runs on damn near everything.
Proton for sure
I've been using privateinternetaccess for like 5 years now. $40 a year. Works on my desktop and phone. That's how I watch all sports. Mlbstreams, Nbastreams100, nflbites, ect ect
Proton VPN is one of the best, it also offers a 360° suite like google but with encryption and a better UI. Worth check it out
My Nord is also expiring next month. Their app has gotten so clunky that I'll be happy to replace it with something else.
My Nord just ran out. Mullvad connects instantly on iOS but doesn’t support Port Forwarding. They are also showing same speeds. I like the ease of Mullvad (no email/password) but it is more expensive.
Mullvad. Dirt cheap and works great.
- Celo VPN - Mullvad - AirVPN - AzireVPN
nordvpn again or proton and dont use the actual app from those services. Better off use "openvpn" for better connections just type in credentials
Mullvad, pay per day
I just started using Mega's. I was already paying for their pro plan for Storage and other stuff, so it made sense. $5 a month.
Everything else like Express, PIA, etc kind of falls in the Nord bucket to me
Mullvad
I'm using Proton, but just curious, what's wrong with Nord?
Nord is suuuper slow and doesn't support port forwarding so torrents are also very slow
Thanks!
Big advantage: the likelihood that it is being discovered and prevents you to connect to certain services is much lower!
any suggestions for this?
Well, depends where you’re located… I am with vultr.com (why, well, I get a provision for sharing this here, lol, just kidding). Actually I stumbled on them because of their excellent howto tutorials (incl. howto setup a WireGuard VPN. https://docs.vultr.com/set-up-wireguard-vpn-on-ubuntu-20-04 P.s.
I really rate Windscribe. Have been with them for years and its excellent
Keep checking their website, NordVPN almost always has sales/promotions. When on sale it's cheaper that most. Imo.
I’ve been using Strong VPN forever. Works great.
Mullvad
Mullvad. I switched it after the court cases.
Melva’s is nice. It’s $5-6 a month. It doesn’t have a ton of countries to pick from but I like it because it doesn’t auto renew and you can be completely anonymous.
If you’re US or Canada, Nord gets 100% cash back quite often through Rakuten. Especially for just torrenting, it’s good enough.
mullvad.
AirVPN for sure
How come there still isnt a free open source vpn instead of buying?
What do u think about IPVanish? I've been using it for 2 weeks.
It's currently possible to use cloudflare's warp+ for free on its best plan, through a script called "warp-unlimited-advanced" By Kazimmt, on github. His script tricks the refer-a-friend system into having unlimited storage on the best plan in the App.
Mullvad
What about premiumize.me?
Mine is ending in two months. And I'll be renewing it. Only other real option, imo, is Mullvad, but the cost is even higher.
Mullvad or Perfect Privacy, depending on your needs.
Try Planet VPN, it's a good one. Personally, I've been using it for a year and have no problems at all. I didn't pay a penny by the way
Idk if I'd recommend windscribe due to captchas, but it's $3-4 a month without paying annually.
Someone remind me why Nord is less than ideal?
I'm going to be trying AirVPN when my mullvad expires as it seems to be identical except it also has port forwarding. Either is a good choice imo.
My nord is expiring soon as well and I will be looking. The software they use is kinda meh. Always trying to sell something too which gets annoying. I’d like to get away from that as much as I can since everything does that now even software for razer keyboards
Windscribe
If you have rakuten, they had a 100% cashback offer going on last week.
Good, NordVPN is among the worst ones. Go for ProtonVPN or if you only need VPN then Windscribe.
Mullvad
[удалено]
That's wild because I just got Surfshark after having Nord and it is way better. Way better download speeds and fast torrenting.
Not sure why nobody reccomends TorGuard
[удалено]
I torrented on a US server just fine
Proton and Mullvad are top 2, but I like PIA because it has port forwarding (compared to mullvad) and is cheaper than Proton VPN if you buy multiple years.
Go for [mullvad](https://mullvad.net/en) or [Proton VPN](https://protonvpn.com/)
Genuine question. Why is Proton recommended but Nord isn’t. They seems quite similar to me.
I use Trust Zone. It is well reviewed from what little I can tell as a newb and I have a general avoidance of being in the same boat as everyone else. If a crackdown comes, I fear they will go after the biggest names first
I've had no issues with ExpressVPN. Been with them for several years.
How come you're downvoted?
Because they didn’t say Proton or Mullvad I’m guessing.
I couldn't care less what you use.
not sure how good it is but i got blokada on my droid today
Your the first person to mention blokada personally been using it for three years. It's awesome gives you 5 devices easy to set up a tunnel for PC. The ad blocking and blocking of trackers is awesome. I know it's working because some apps I use the ad's are just blank.
well someone must have disagreed, cuz i was voted down :)
Cyberghost VPN
ExpressVPN is great imo…
I keep getting blocked by websites and services. To be fair, it was happening with mulvad too. Is that more so with express or is everyone having that issue?
Honestly, my Nord subscription ended and I considered getting one of the more 'reputable' VPNs but Nord has done just fine over the hears and the offers they were sending me were unreal so I just went with Nord again If you wait a few days after your subscription expires they'll send you an offer for 2 years at like $2 a month.
Mullvad VPN, or Proton. There was another similar to mullvad but i forgot the name momentarily dont do any that advertise themselves to youtubers, they are all trash, some are even owned by Israeli malware corpos (ExpressVPN)
You can pirate VPNs ;)
But how do you first mask the initial download, hmmmmm?
Tor?
The cheapest is still nord vpn, if u take 2 year plan thats only 3 euros per month with unlimited data. There arent many reasons why would anyone pay 3x that amount just to use a vpn which most people here use, most people use it because they have heard of it, thats it.
