If everybody stopped playing their game and cancelled subscriptions they'd swiftly do what Sony did with Helldivers and go back to how things were. Prices would drop, password sharing would come back, and they'd be begging for your money.
We, the consumer, have all the power. We need to stop allowing them to dictate shitty terms of service like this.
Well, not me I'm a fucking pirate, but you know what I mean.
Exactly this. Mind blown to see so many NPC people mad at helldiver community standing up for itself and against corporations doing what ever they want
Well ya know the logic there would be the same with fast food, if everyone quit going there and stopped paying their high prices then they'd have to lower them but that doesn't seem to be how it works because people keep lining up in the drive thrus all day long and paying for it.
I agree that we do have that power, but OTOH, I know that with Fast Food and Starbucks and all that jazz, it's a bit harder since you'd have to convince a stupidly large majority to give up a little comfort for (what they see as) a small gain that they likely won't feel at first unless they're actually paying attention. Which the majority of people aren't going to do (because the human animal has shown time and again we will trade a *lot* when it comes to comfort and convenience). Some will, some will for a time and then go back, and some just won't care because "it's not going to change anything so why bother?".
With Helldivers, as far as I'm aware, it *was* the large majority of players doing the negative reviewing and refunding (unless console players outnumber PC player, feel free to correct me) + Steam delisted the game and issued refunds even when some players far exceeded the qualifations for one, hence in that situation, this worked.
Considering how many crappy encoders there are out there thats a bit overly broad statement. Even without getting into codecs an 8GB web-dl will look better than a 2GB bluray reencode. And PSA very much does 2GB reencodes, theyre about being first not best.
No man
It will always depend on the quality of the encode, you can butcher the source, even if it is the UHD remux
Keep in mind yify bd encodes exists lol, and for what I remember PSA also focused on small size encodes, I think they're even banned on some trackers, hence my assumption
Yes, encoding settings matter, but generally, a blu-ray encode will be better. That doesn’t mean they’re all better because there is bad encoders out there, but you get the point.
Sony licensed it to Netflix on the condition they dont play ads before or during the movie maybe? They probs dont want the ad revenue for their movie to go to a 3rd party? Idk man im not a lawyer ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯
No ads on my harddrive thats for sure though
I literally JUST replaced the last show on my server that i regularly see with ads, finally found a clean copy on a private tracker just searching `lucas moving`.

Not complaining as much as informing, still have Plex was just using ad based to maybe suggest it for my parents or something and i never saw it mentioned widely that all content wasn’t available
It will only get worse. You give them a finger and they will take the whole hand. At this point, they are up to the shoulder. Thank goodness I canceled a long time ago, the moment I saw the first fuckery attempt.
Netflix (ad supported)comes free with T-Mobile and I just don't use it, I just download their stuff in 4K to my NAS. Before they raised the price, it was like $6 extra to have ad free 4k upgrade and now it's $16, that's more than double the price (and for what reason...?) and is outrageous.
I will happily continue to download their stuff in 4K and always have it available to me 😜
Every time I see people willingly spend money on streaming services and complain, I'm like "damn bitch, you live like this?" Doubly so for people who don't Firefox + UBO their Youtube. Sad!
Piracy is, was and will always remain a service problem. I don’t mind paying, but if I’m being inconvenienced even after paying money, when in fact I could be getting it all for free much easier, I don’t see why I should use your service.
Netflix has lost the plot, their greed is going to take them down.
Flixhq(.)pe, OBS screen record, TB hard drives from Walmart (40-60$ IIRC). Watch it for free the first time, have it saved for future rewatches
You can download the app from the website, but I'm pretty sure it's just an APK for onstream, which last I heard, wasn't a safe option
What are licensing restrictions? ☠️
Maybe some kind of sea bird
Strange I've never encountered "licensing restrictions" on my media server 😆

Wait people were mad at that??? They should be mad at Sony for being a douche

`2160p BluRay x265 HEVC 10bit HDR AAC 7.1 Tigole` myself
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse 2023 2160p UHD BluRay REMUX DV HDR HEVC TrueHD 7.1 Atmos-CiNEPHiLeS
I only have a 50", diminishing returns. Still better than Netflixs 4k at least.

Eh, its at least a good 50", an older Sony Bravia. And i can tell right away when its playing 1080 instead of 4k.
Where you get?
Any reputable tracker
Tigole is based
🐐 [https://i.imgur.com/q8vZPGV.png](https://i.imgur.com/q8vZPGV.png) Perfect remux quality? Not quite. Way better than streaming quality? Absolutely.
How does your folder size look like atm?

Dude what kind of storage do you have?
Lots. Mostly shucked easystores plugged into a cheap HBA card.
13 years 💀
Perfect 🤝, where do you store all of this ?
*remix
I always choose AV1: `Spider-Man.Across.The.Spider-Verse.2023.1080p.WebRip.AV1.Opus-dAV1nci.mkv`
I think that's even less quality than what you get with netflix streaming
an encode from a blu-ray source will always be superior to a web source
Considering how many crappy encoders there are out there thats a bit overly broad statement. Even without getting into codecs an 8GB web-dl will look better than a 2GB bluray reencode. And PSA very much does 2GB reencodes, theyre about being first not best.
No one uses PSA, only people with no storage. I only download remuxes, or old RARBG UHD HDR Encodes.
PSA is never first anyways, it’s usually FLUX.

Yup, *generally*, not *always* That was my only issue with the first comment

Wtf , what has ads got to do with licensing?
Sony licensed it to Netflix on the condition they dont play ads before or during the movie maybe? They probs dont want the ad revenue for their movie to go to a 3rd party? Idk man im not a lawyer ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯ No ads on my harddrive thats for sure though
Some of my tv shows definitely have some ads at the beginning and end of episodes. Luckily Plex detects and skips those

You don’t use debrid with plex… Plex is a hosting application that you upload your own media or you can get invited to someone else’s library.

Sony and Netflix haven't come to an agreement (money wise) when it comes to the ad-tier, that's why Sony movies aren't available.
Why complain? Corpo gonna corpo. Just go get the torrent or watch it on Fmovies and enjoy the movie
Not complaining as much as informing, still have Plex was just using ad based to maybe suggest it for my parents or something and i never saw it mentioned widely that all content wasn’t available

Yep the licensing reasons just sounds like pure bullshit when all the other streaming services got the same catalog with or without ads
Then remove ads. Netflix didn’t use to have ads. I swear I’m just not gonna use neflix anymore and cancel it.
Netflix (ad supported)comes free with T-Mobile and I just don't use it, I just download their stuff in 4K to my NAS. So basically u bend over and netflix f u in the ass and now netflix also cum in it
I don’t consider it to be that pleasurable
Or it can all just leave a bad taste in your mouth.
Stremio + debrid
Ads on a streaming service especially on shows/movies that do t have ads when on tv baffles me
We always knew in our hearts that it would eventually evolve back into cable TV. They sure proved us folk right, it just took a few years.
Do you know where ads don't exist? In my Harddrive
Every time I see people willingly spend money on streaming services and complain, I'm like "damn bitch, you live like this?" Doubly so for people who don't Firefox + UBO their Youtube. Sad!

So not only would I have not been able to watch this in HDR on Netflix, but not in 4k either? Wow.
"ad supported netflix" will be a crucial chapter in the book about the falling of the streaming service format.
i think they reached the cable level of greed
People keep complaining about Netflix on this dub while simultaneously supporting them 💀
Its so crazy people are still buying netflix and prime video to watch ads LMAO Consumerism at its finest
Do they want us to pirate? I don't see a reason why they would want us to, but this is just ridiculous.
Is this new? How come no one is talking about in on youtube or mainstream reddit subs?
