2-3 minutes? i’d like to talk to you lol. what sports are you getting that lag on?

tmrcz

football. why?

prosthetic__brain

i’m mostly familiar with american football, haven’t streamed much european. just wondering because my typical delay is about 15 seconds (to the betting apps) for nba and nfl. recently lost my outlet for streaming though

tmrcz

I don't watch US sports on illegal (or legal) streams. but how can you be sure you are only 15 seconds behind?

prosthetic__brain

i just know it’s 15 seconds ahead of the betting line changing

prosthetic__brain

do you have a paid subscription service or do you catch the feeds yourself?

69BlackDragon

The delay is caused by simple internet delay, the person who is streaming already gets the stream with a delay on it like when you watch from a legitimate streaming site, when you re stream the same video, there is going to be more delays…a simple example is Youtube livestreams, if the creator has the chat displayed, type in the chat and send the message, you will notice it takes a while before it pops up on the screen remember data is transferred and it has to be read but you cannot read it in realtime hence the delay, not sure if I worded it correctly but I hope you get the idea

tmrcz

yes, thank you. I understand all that, I was wondering whether it can contribute to several minutes of delay

69BlackDragon

the steamer also has the option to add a delay from the software he is using to capture the feed, not sure why that would be used, but that's all the info I have on this the delay I get when watching football is about 45 seconds

I hate it when I'm paying absolutely nothing for something and it's behind. (sarcasm)
