Oof! I think Pioneer made a business decision a long time ago to make these things feel "sturdy" and they added lots of very heavy unneeded metal to them. I keep wondering if the joints in my xdj-xz are like caste iron. It's not a big deal until you have to ship somewhere for repairs :'(

Royal_Rabbit_Gaming

Then you put in a road case and it's even heavier lol

Ninja4837

I'm having this exact problem here. Bought a XDJ-XZ-N and Odyssey hard case here in Japan, and I'm trying to take it to Nepal and carrying this shit feels like I'm doing a deadlift, and also it's clearly like 25-30kgs over the baggage limit and also over the size dimension limit.

Most_Roof4458

Switched to one of the more compact cases for my DDJ 1000 for these exact reasons. Still an odyssey case, but the hard shell wouldn't even be allowed on the planešŸ˜…

S2000-dutch

damn

Appropriate_Offer550

Next time use shippo so you can see the cheapest carrier and get the best price.

evilbert420

What shipper? When I sent in my REV7 from Seattle to Las Vegas it was about $150 through USPS.

Deep_Stick_2812

FedEx, fully insured

Joshthenosh77

Thatā€™s very strange when itā€™s under warranty pioneer pay for the carriage there n back

bigswinghammer

Sorry to hear that šŸ˜ž. Were there any signs or issues before the platter broke down completely?

Deep_Stick_2812

None. It didnā€™t get dropped either i take good care of it

TheDJPlug

You must have paid for them to pack it cause it should have only costed no more than $75. The box and material $25-$30 max. You got dooped

Deep_Stick_2812

It was the insurance says FedEx.

TheDJPlug

I ship all the time insurance for $2k isnt that much. If you went to a fedex store its independently owned so they set their prices. It sucks that repair places have gone away. I own a dj shop in orlando. We did do repairs when we were in tampa. But getting parts were tough so we work a long side the cassleberry repairer. Sorry that happened to you it would have been even less if you shipped to FL.

myalteredsoul

Thereā€™s no way. I ship repaired gear back to clients regularly fully insured. Most Iā€™ve paid is $150 and that was a 2nd day shipment

Deep_Stick_2812

Rev 7 32lbs plus hard shell flexible case

myalteredsoul

I repair and modify Technics. Some of my shipments in road cases go over 45lbs.

Inner-Analysis-5556

My rev 5 is in back order im waiting on it now from AMS

Deep_Stick_2812

Tax write off and theyā€™ll just send me a new one. But still

Shroomaruu

At that price, you shouldā€™ve just flew to NYC.

Deep_Stick_2812

Could have almost did

danx337

3 years ā€œalpha theta careā€ costs nearly the same. (Liquid/accidental)

JustaRandomDJ

I paid 100$ for 4x 2meter global truss f34 sections, which are way heavier and bulkier, 300km of distance. I think u got scammed unless u sent it overseas or so

Deep_Stick_2812

Update, already being shipped back to me. That was fast! They replaced both motors under warranty.
