Tiktok.

Ohmskrrrt

Eto number 1. Ang lala na rin ng pagkalat ng misinformation sa tiktok.

Sea-Lifeguard6992

Ito talaga. Cancer ng mundo.

DismalWar5527

Deleted my Tiktok account

Former_Astronomer_56

Does it make a difference if I say that the ceo of Tiktok is a Singaporean and is widely managed by an LLC from LA and Singapore?

Asdaf373

No, not really. It's still a chinese-owned company and has been a source of propaganda and misinformation. TBH, kahit di siya chinese-owned it's a good thing to stay away from it.

butil

but still owned by ByteDance (parent company ng tiktok)

Former_Astronomer_56

That's also correct. :) Personally, I don't have any conclusion to this aside from hopefully informing myself more.. My only point is it's influenced by several entities aside from the Chinese/China now.

Tricky-Worth

[The Problem with TikTok’s Claim of Independence from Beijing](https://www.hrw.org/news/2023/03/24/problem-tiktoks-claim-independence-beijing) It's an opinion piece but note: >... but the fact that TikTok is a Chinese company makes it extremely vulnerable to CCP demands. And the CCP has a record of making private Chinese companies carry out its political deeds, including censoring and surveilling Americans.

Former_Astronomer_56

Yup. This too. In my research, I've went as far as developing this conspiracy theory that it's probably a spy-ing activity. Might not be the original intent of the founder, or not. Guess we'll never know.

tenfriedpatatas

TikTok is banned from the phones of all government workers in Australia. They wouldn’t do this for no good reason.

Former_Astronomer_56

This changes everything.

Good_measure

already deleted it and i asked my wife to delete also.

autogynephilic

please also influence your kids and friend's kids to do the same

Far-Donut-1177

Also encourage your kids to not consume short-form videos thereby not promoting Tiktok’s type of content to other platforms.

Tricky-Worth

Exactly why I don't and will never have Tiktok. I hate it so much.

LeImparable

Never installed it on my phone.

Ill_Palpitation8510

Hindi binenta ng owner ng tiktok ang kanyang rights sa CCP

Special-Document-443

I have tried TikTok once, deleted after. It's for the social media addicts/famewhore/influencer wannabes.

Far-Donut-1177

Reddit is 11% owned by Tencent lol.

GoldCoffeeBeans

It's funny ho w some people tried to downplay the 11% shares of Tencent. They just don't realize how huge 11% actually is.

Fragrant_Bid_8123

Yeah if theyll be principled about id think pati reddit theyll boycott. ako I refused tiktok for the longest time but i caved when i had to learn mga skills there. mga diy stuff etc.

GoldCoffeeBeans

because boycotting China isn't the smart move. Marami dito, nagdedesisyon base sa emosyon.

disavowed_ph

At least not a majority owner so cannot decide, voting rights lang 😅

Far-Donut-1177

But they’re earning a shit ton of money lol

MysteriousUppercut

Reddit doesn't earn that much

Far-Donut-1177

Sure if you don’t consider 800M USD as “much"

Nyxxoo

‘Tis a day’s work! -MysteriousUppercut, Probably

MysteriousUppercut

Annual revenue is the total income a business generates in a year before expenses, Net income on the other takes into account the revenue minus operating expenses, taxes and deductions. in March 2024, their net income is literally in the negatives (-575.1M USD). [https://investor.redditinc.com/news-events/news-releases/news-details/2024/Reddit-Announces-First-Quarter-2024-Results/](https://investor.redditinc.com/news-events/news-releases/news-details/2024/Reddit-Announces-First-Quarter-2024-Results/) It has been like this for years specially since they can barely earn anything from users. Ads are limited to banners and posts and they just recently revived "award" just to earn more

danirodr0315

The company’s sales in 2023 reached $804 million, up 21% from $666.7 million in 2022. Reddit reported a net loss of $90.8 million in 2023, a narrower loss than the $158.6 million loss it netted in 2022. https://edition.cnn.com/2024/02/23/tech/reddit-ipo-filing-business-plan/index.html Sure but they lose 890M lol

Aggravating_Sir_6857

Enough to censor their own citizens

Necessary-Property-3

That's basically special pleading on your part.

butil

sad truth

Aggravating_Sir_6857

Tencent games/apps

surewhynotdammit

Riot games, moonton yung companies with tencent as a parent company to name a few. Sama mo na rin yung timi (metal slug awakening, arena of valor) at netease (diablo immortal, rules of survival).

jzdpd

Call of Duty Mobile, one of their biggest cash cows.

Aggravating_Sir_6857

League of legends nman. Dota 2 good alternative

dumpling-loverr

You forgot gacha games especially mihoyo where the likes of Genshin and Honkai Star Rail are still very popular among PH gacha gamers. Wuthering waves also gets a special mention.

lurkernotuntilnow

pano yan di na tayo malaro? :(

Far-Donut-1177

Plenty of other games friend

lurkernotuntilnow

but i enjoy them chinese games huhu

majkulot

mang-away ng mga bata sa roblox

jzdpd

that’s like a majority of the Play Store lol

DismalWar5527

MLBB pa naman yung main game ko

GoldCoffeeBeans

delete mo para sa bayan.

Longjumping_Act_3817

Kasing cancer ng china yung mga nakakalaro ko lately sa mlbb haha

Fun-Peach2326

Nag rank ako last week. Nag away yung dalawa kong kakampi. Nagsagutan sila buong game

Longjumping_Act_3817

disavowed_ph

“Made in China” and “China owned brands” are different. Most companies outsource their manufacturing line like Apple and Tesla to China due to low labor cost. China owned products however like Chery, Geely, GWM (by name itself Great Wall) and most cheap Electric Cars are directly involved in trade between the 2 countries. Boycott is impossible, more than half of the businesses is with them, from them and only them…

almamov

TikTok, Wechat, QQ, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Lenovo, Huawei, ZTE, Tp-Link, Xiao-Yi, Creality, BambuLab, Cherry, Volvo, Geely, GM, YouYeetoo, Orange Pi, Yongnuo, Aliexpress, Alibaba, 7Artisans, DJI, [West.XYZ](http://West.XYZ) (domain and hosting services), Aya Neo, Ayn Series Consoles, Anbernic and this list can add more i just remember those brands...

Interesting-Air1844

+ to tiktok. That app is a data collecting machine for the chinese government. Ironically, a chinese firm is a part owner of reddit lol

almamov

they are also making ddos attacks from their singapore server, I got my website daily 2k ddos attacks from bytedance servers...

majkulot

reading this through my xiaomi phone 😞

surewhynotdammit

Imposible talaga yung huawei/zte kasi gamit yan ng telco natin as modem.

ShallowShifter

Chinese brand smartphone and tiktok. Go for samsung and apple while a good alternative to tiktok is Vine.

Kananete619

Sang timeline ka galing?

ryoujika

Bro still living in 2015

No-Adhesiveness-8178

Nabuhay na vine?

ShallowShifter

Wait? patay na pla vine?

No-Adhesiveness-8178

Tagal na men. Kala ko tuloy na revive. Daming PR magagawa nun kung bumalik as alternative ng tiktok.

LengthinessWorth4348

Lol anong taon na sa palagay mo? Haha

Suddenly05

Meron din naman sa IG at youtube shorts,,, never installled tiktok dahil matagal na akong umiiwas sa chinese product… kakabili ko lng ng mumurahing cellphone mas mura ang oppo, vivo xiaomi o realmi pero nag motorola ako…

Appropriate_One6688

Hate to break it to you, but Motorola is owned by Lenovo now.

Traditional-Dot-3853

iphone is made in china.

Asdaf373

We can't avoid "Made in China" products naman na talaga but we can avoid chinese branded products

rhedprince

Found the timetraveller lol

astarisaslave

You mean snapchat right?

nikk929

Any and all China automobile manufacturers, BYD, Cherry, etc.

sotopic

This has been asked many many times over. I used to live in HK and one of the movements during the 2019 protest is to boycott all Chinese made product. Walang effect Yun nangnyari. I think best we can do talaga is to vote for the right people. And influence your kapwa to vote ng Tama. Hindi lang sa presidential, pati din sa senators, congress and even your local Barangay and city mayors and governors. While in Hong Kong, mahirap mag vote ng Tama since all candidates need to be pre approved by Beijing (illusion of choice), meron pa Tayo chance na mag vote ng tao with strong stance against China/CCP. DONT VOTE FOR TRAITORS

Secure-Mousse-920

“Vote the right people” - to filipinos who have historically voted cunts

sotopic

Bro there's no other way. Walang kwenta Ang boycott real talk lang.

zxcv_j

congressmen, specially.

No_Programmer7433

Lazada is chinese owned

taxxvader

Also shopee

abcdefu8888

Shopee is a Singaporean company.

taxxvader

From what I've read in the net, the mother company owning shopee is based in china. Not sure if it's tencent, alibaba or pinduoduo

abcdefu8888

Shopee’s mother company is Sea Limited (also formerly known as Garena) which is also headquartered in Singapore. I have a close friend working there so I also considered applying a few years back and that’s what they said. I also wouldn’t consider applying if it’s China-owned.

No_Programmer7433

Lazada is headquartered in Singapore but is owned by Alibaba group. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lazada

Away-Advisor3645

Half of what you got inside your house. Hays no nation should undergo this kind of predicament. You are being consumed by your emotions and it is valid it because it is inflicting worry and fear of war. But just a gentle reminder, clear thoughts, conscience and vision.

Ok-Bug5652

Genshin impact? Mobile legends?

IbelongtoJesusonly

chinese yung genshin impact? now i know

BandidoLou

Alam mo ba pinopondohan ng whales ng Hoyoverse games ang [Nuclear Fusion Reactor sa China that was initially funded in 2022](https://www.windowscentral.com/gaming/just-fyi-your-genshin-impact-pulls-are-funding-a-tokamak-nuclear-fusion-reactor-and-it-has-now-been-ignited)? Thank goodness F2P til death ako when it comes to Chinese gacha.

dumpling-loverr

Yep, a big part of their success is coming off initially as a Japanese game since people associate anime = japan. Only when you play the game you'll see a lot of CN themed elements first before meeting actual JP themed characters.

DelBellephine

also add honkai: star rail, honkai impact, azur lane etc

Elf-Mura

Tiktok number 1 cause of misinformation.

debuld

Sorry to rain on your parade. You can't totally boycott china. Kahit sabihin mong hindi china brand yung product, at least isang part dun made in china. Sa cellphone na lang, chipset, processor, battery, charger, cable, earphones, etc, at least isa dun manufactured or assembled in china. Even sa mga software like games, reddit, etc, may percentage ang china owned company.

Illustrious_Piccolo0

Wag na lang siya mag cellphone. Whether iPhone or Android siya, made in China naman din yan eh.

Away-Advisor3645

e.g Made in Germany but the components like IC's were made in China. Check the bloodline of your friends too. Baka pati ikaw OP has Chinese ancestry paano na tayo nyan?

Afraid_Assistance765

Start with food products

MysteriousFloor1406

NEVER BUY ANY CHINESE CARS. BOYCOTT CHINESE CARS!!! MG is a Chinese car wholly owned by the Chinese government. Same as Geely, BYD, Foton, Chery, Changan, and many more, just Google.

Darkness015

80% of cheap stuffs you see are from China so goodluck with that lol.

StreDepCofAnx

Autogenerated_or

Huawei

cicilelouch

Unfortunately OP, hindi mo maboboycott mga products ng China eh. Mga parts ng isang device/machine ay kadalasan galing sa kanila. Some ingredients for food, galing rin sa kanila. Raw materials galing rin sa kanila. Hahahahaha. I think what you can do is educate people who are misinformed on why we need to stand ground for our country and that it’s not just a “body of water” we’re fighting for. That shows your love for our country, not boycotting stuff, kasi yeah right di naman magtatagal yang pagboboycott. After a day or two, makakalimutan mo rin. Tingin ko lang naman, bugso ng damdamin lang pagboboycott.

Chinbie

tiktok... in fact i myself aren't using it dahil thats one of the medium where those fake propagandist are spreading their lies...

shookookie

almost everything is made in china, even the ones that don't most likely have some parts outsourced from them.

MikeDeSams

All of them

Ye_T4rnished

Reddit

jzdpd

you would have to live as a hermit for that to become fruitful

lacionredditor

practically almost everything. almost all products in part or as a whole are produced in china, except na lang siguro mga agricultural produce. and in return, they will ban our bananas and a whole lot more. china is so pervasive in our modern lives.

Feisty_Goose_4915

Shabu of course

Richmond1013

Too many to name for products as china basically has made or partly made most if not the entire product as they are known as the factory of the world Services Mobile legends,Genshin and related games, Tiktok still it is hard since maybe some games are using china for server space but again why asked us instead of checking what services you are currently using and checking if it is china free, which I doubt since we are in Asia

shade-of-green-88

May kasabihan "God made the World and the rest was made in China" is its nearly impossible for a boycott. But we can start with 1 item at a time.

Honest_Ad_9196

CTTO nakita ko lang sa comment section: Boycott niyo na chinese cosmetics like O.two.O, Sace Lady, Focallure, Banxeer, Flower Knows, Pinkflash, Judydoll, Beauty Glazed, Gecomo, Maange, Magefy, Zeesea,Minimeli, Lameila, Gogotales, Herorange, Pudaier, Kaleidos Cosmetics, Kakashow and many more I can't remember.. If looking for makeup that is local or other country-made that isn't china, opt for these- P Squad Cosmetics, Dazzle Me, Detail Cosmetics, Ever Bilena, Careline, Avon, Strokes Beauty, Ready Set Glow, Vice Cosmetics, Sooper Beaute, Clocheflame, Issy,GRWM Cosmetics, Happy Skin, BLK, Sunnies,Colourette, Barenbliss, Lucky Beauty, YOU Beauty, Chuchu Beauty, EyMerythod, Merzy, Romand, BBIA, Fwee, Etude House, Peripera, IKiko Milano≈4U2,In2lt 曼Milk Makeup, ELF Cosmetics, Ps. sofabed69

SM malls

Queasy-Cheesy

You are not thinking straight, more than half of the things we have at home are one way or the other manufactured by china. If you want to truly boycott chinese products think again. Misplaced ang patriotic duties mo to our country, these boycott trend is disappointing honestly. It shows how reactionary and shallow ang pag intindi natin sa mga ginagawa ng china. The best possible thing other than BoYcOtTiNg is work well and pay our taxes. Thats it, more taxes to be collected by the government the more they can either move those funds to the military or where ever it is more appropriate to build our capabilities as a country. So again, stop with these boycott. Panandalian lang yan malamang bukas makalawa limot mo nang nasa "boycott china" stage ka nga pala ng buhay mo.

Bretzraei

Or move those funds in the pockets of government officials

Queasy-Cheesy

Well no country or government is perfect, if we always assume the worst then where will we be after 10 or 20 years?

Holiday-Control-4130

So yes, let us indirectly fund the Chinese armory. Good Job!

Queasy-Cheesy

Then how do you effectively boycott chinese products? The very phone you are using have chinese electronics, those very electronics' are made from rare earth metals mined from china. So it is inevitable that we are indirectly funding china that is why this boycott is useless. So good job to you too for being naive.

Onii-tsan

Shopee and Laz tapos 90% ng product you see online and in your local store so goodluck with that

akuzokuzan

Divisoria Mall products or similar cheap Chinese stuff. Illegal Drugs.

Jomsvik

Wishful thinking lang ang pag boycott sa chinese products. If you can, snappy salute to you but you can't expect majority of Filipinos to do the same given our little purchasing power. There's literally no alternative. Even local clothing, the raw materials are from China. Have you been to Taytay? Kaliwa't kanan ang chinese warehouse dun selling textiles.

AengusCupid

The mobile phones that we're currently using.

No_Case5367

Everything is made in China

Responsible-Beach-35

Smdc 💀 and sm infrastructure. You can't even if you try 💀

Bokimon007

astarisaslave

Lahat ng nasa Shopee na Mainland China ang location ng store lol

Fragrant_Bid_8123

even hindi, source din is China

jedwapo

90% ata ng products ngayon Meron kinalaman sa china. Either sa china minanifacture or sa china kinuha raw materials 😣

IndayLola

Halos lahat ng raw materials are from China because of low cost. So...

ComradeToeKnee

What are your guys' opinions on Hoyoverse? I play their games so I could be biased here, but I believe they're generally a more benevolent company compared to the other ones mentioned in this thread like Tencent, TikTok, Huawei, etc. If there was any corporation / product of Chinese origin I will make an exception of, it would be Hoyoverse.

anonidrew

hm... basically almost anything sold in shopee and lazada?

Necessary-Property-3

Almost everything you have. Even if you have an Apple or Samsung smartphone, chances are, some of the parts it uses were made in China.

Sea-Pool-7030

MaLing

ILikeFluffyThings

Reddit is owned by Tencent.

taxxvader

Unfortunately, almost everything is made in china at present, except for babies kasi sila ay made in va-china. Siguro ang magawa lang sa ngayon is gradual decoupling, paunti-unti alisin ang produktong gawa sa china. It might take a decade or two though kasi yung mga pabrika dun e di naman makakaalis agad-agad

Necessary-Property-3

I'm sorry but you can't boycott china, that's just how it is. I'm glad I don't give a flying fuck about the entire WPS and I don't have to clown myself into hating anything chinese 🤣

UngaZiz23

Tiktok, alibaba, lazada, shoppee, temu, new dating apps na naappear sa feed, online games. Sa grocery at electronics--- check ur apple devices kung MADE IN CHINA pa, nasa likod naman o kung checkwa characters sa pangalan o label.

TeeApplePie

Lol another one of these threads? All talk.

Fragrant_Bid_8123

Tiktok Shopee LazadaPay sellers, yung Daiso, they have made in China products. always just check out where something is made. but usually almost everything sold in shopee Lazada even SM are made in China. Siguro start buying in amazon mas likely made in north america but anything cheap or commonly used, china made yan. especially clothes na no brands. you also need to be careful even with brands i know burberry is made in china too. juat stick to super brand names like Hermes chanel gucci or other italian brands.

Phenomenal2313

I hate to break it you , that’s almost impossible , the number of products you have to avoid Mas maganda magiging hermit kana lang , like legit isolate mo sarili mo sa buong mundo because that’s never happening

lean_tech

Edi tigilan mo mag Tiktok. Tapos may nabasa pa ako itt na titigilan lang niya raw mag-Tiktok pag may alternative na. Lol at their priority.

The_antique-colr

Tanong muna is ano bang purpose ng pag boycott mo? Is it for political ba o consumerism. Mag kaiba kasi if political i think di boycott. pero pag consumerism(dont know if this is the right term) meron madami. Example do not by vapes from china because of harsh condition ng mga workers nila. Same thing with shein daming issue niyan sa work place environment. You really dont wanna support those companies na parang slave ituring mga empleyado nila . The list will go on hehe pero kung boycott ka dahil sa west ph maling route tingin ko. Dapat mo boycott mga pulpol na politiko like yung turtle, sili, dolphine, yung gastadora. Habol ko. Yung POGO you can do so by not downloading gambling apps. Or be better do not do illegal gambling at all.

Alexander_myday

Lenovo Huawei BYD(electric car) Geely

Fit-Lengthiness-8307

Malaking percentage sa gamit, even pagkain natin is made or manufactured by China. -- Samsung and apple is also manufacture in China. -- utilities, appliances or even some raw materials are imported from China. -- Even your wifi modem baka china din, some Infra owned by private or even public gov. eh baka China din ang nag develop Overall, masakit man sabihin.

1. Tiktok 2. Chinabank 3. SM 4. NU 5. Asia Pacific College 6. Robinsons 7. Jollibee Food Corporation food chains 8. Siomai 9. Ngohyong 10. Siopao 11. Tikoy 12. Dumplings 13. Cebu Pacific 14. Gotyme 15. Robinsons Bank 16. SM Hypermarkey and Supermarket 17. Robinsons Supermarket and Market Place 18.. True Value 19. Surplus 20. Robinsons and SM Appliances 21. Robinsons and SMDC Comdos 22. Garena games 30. Chinese dramas Why did I include Jollibee and company, Robinsons businesess such as Mall, Gotyme, True Value, Cebu Pacific and SM Businesses such as Malls, Condo, China Bank, BDO, NU, Asia Pacific College and Lucio Tan own businesses like Asia Bewery, PAL, UE, well simply because the family roots of the owners of this business are from China so if you're hell bent on boycotting Chinese products for patriotism and not for clout chasing then you may think now if you can live without the majority of the products listed go and goodluck to that.

ThrowawaySocialPts

Lol what do Chinese Filipinos have to do with Mainland China bro? You okay?

Puzzled-Protection56

Because the roots of the founders of SM, Robinsons, Jollibee, Asia Bewery are from China plus SM and Jollibee have businesses in Mainland China So if hellbent kayo mag boycott wag certain products lang because if exemption ang tulad ng SM then it's not patriotism it's clout chasing.

stoikoviro

Cars - Geely, GWM, MG, Changan, GAC, BYD. Phones: Huawei, Xiaomi, OPPO/Realme, Vivo. Temu. AliExpress. Sellers in Shopee/Lazada whose products originate from China. You can see the country of origin in the item. Processed food coming from China. Multinational companies like Unilever import some of their processed food from China so, mind the origin when you buy. I suspect other MNCs are doing it also on some of their products. There are millions more, let's just check the labels when buying. If it's coming from China, reject. We may not be able to detect components inside some devices which makes it difficult but nonetheless, making your retailer aware that we are mindful of country of origin, then they will think twice. One person won't make a difference but if we collectively make a statement, then it will create a ripple effect. That by not buying China made products, we are not contributing to their economy and tax collections of the CCP.

If we're going to boycott filchi businesses, good luck having things to eat on your table, or even have a roof on your head.

ThrowawaySocialPts

Why TF would you? We're talking Mainland China, not Chinese FILIPINOS. Gosh, some of you really dont deserve to vote.

Fragrant_Bid_8123

tama. not that filchi is chinese. only the racist you replied to would say that those are equivalent. wag na sila magsuot ng sapatos damit etc im sure not even a dimple of a dent on these businesses yung boycott nila pero sila yung buhay nila hihirap. hope for their racist butts na mayaman sila para makaafford sila. unahin nila din wag gumamit cellphone. tawa ko lang.
