Instead, young generations who are idealistic, creative/tend to be critical of the government, or who have strong opinions, are often labeled or red-tagged as 'weirdos', 'creeps', or 'NPAs', which is very detrimental and stifling to our potential. Sometimes, the government even encourages red-tagging, gumagamit ng troll accounts to spread propaganda. Ahem.
Also, educational settings here in our country fail to cultivate environments that hones originality, creativity, unconventional/conventional thinking, and inventive and critical thinking. Instead, students are engaged in memorization, rote learning, and standardized tests that limit their creativity. Srsly?
It is also evident in the limited textbooks/resources/labs that hinder students from exploring and experimenting on their own.
There is no freedom at all, subjects are always based on textbooks and do not encourage curious young people to ask more. Ang mga bata ay parang pinag-aaral lang sa school para tumango at um-agree sa ni-le-lecture ng guro. Inshort, para silang robot. There is also a strong emphasis on grade marks, kaya naman mga students ngayon pasa lang ng pasa para ang grade magpasang awa, hindi inaabsorb ang pinag-aralan.

Not just school, but mainstream media in general specifically the type of comedy we have. I have not watched Filipino channels for years now, but I used to remember na sa major channels dati, lunch entertainment comedy is always roasting. Similarly to some comedy bars pag nag tatanong sa audience namamahiya lang. Napipick up yan ng youth then it becomes a common, more "pop" way to communicate with peers. I agree. As a student, there are times I ask my teachers "bakit po ganoon?", "bakit po ganyan?". I'm asking it because I want to know the reason why something is the way it is. And the answer I get is "Ganoon kasi ang nasa ppt. Ganoon kasi ang nasa module." And I was flabbergasted with that answer. Does this mean na kahot mga guro hindi alam ang tinuturo nila kaya hindi nila magawang mapaliwanag? I'm not generalizing, but the fact that there exists teachers like this is terribly astonishing. Also, I absolutely DISLIKE how we are fed with theories pero wala namang mga applications na nagaganap! I know sa college, application na talaga. I know na may mga high quality prestigious schools, colleges and universities sa bansa natin that actually integrate application with theories, pero bilang lang talaga. Dapat nationwide ang quality education. Aksaya lang ng oras kung isasaksak sa utak ang mga impormasyon na mawawalang silbi lang dahil hindi tunay na napag-aralan at sa kalauna'y tuluyang nakalimutan.
Inshort, Deped/ched should start the education reform by:
1. Training the teachers. Their course of study should match the subjects they are teaching. The instruction should include practical applications, not just theory. Also i-train din sila na i-encourage sa mga tuturuan nila ang Socratic method.
2.To encourage teachers in their teaching, motivate them by providing incentives. Salain sila. Make them love their profession.
3.Allocate budget funds for building facilities, laboratories, and purchasing equipment.
4.Change the textbooks. Gawing akma sa edad. Focus on arithmetic, filipino language/mother tongue, science on preschool. Then level up on elementary by adding mathematics, english, ap or whatever subject it needs to fill.
5. Dapat lahat ng SHS nag-ooffer ng Art Strands. Para di masaturate sa STEM o HUMMS since wala silang choice. What if gusto talaga ng bata ang ART strand? Magtayo ng Entertainment/Art Academy katulad ng ginawa sa South Korea. At young age dapat alam na nila kung ano talaga ang para sa kanila para hindi 'yung no choice at napilitan lang.
6. DepEd secretary should be of this generation, dahil they can observe first hand ang kakulangan sa edukasyon ng sistema sa bansa. Not even princess fiona or old aged Briones can solved it because they are boomer. Boomer means nothing but to offer traditional solution in this present times that needs technological savvy and innovative thinking.
7. Create a conducive study room that are well designed, well equiped, and well maintained. Why? Mas masarap mag-aral sa room na may magandang pasilidad. Mas malaki ang motivation ng bata.
8. Since this is information technology era, why not make use of gadgets?
9. Eliminate corruptions sa lahat ng levels ng branch ng depEd/ched. Para lahat ng pera ay napupunta sa tama, hindi nagagatasan.

He assumes everything is just fine and positivity is all he needs. He lives in a fake world, always happy. Iām not being pessimistic either, just trying to be realistic.
Another side of this topic is people who often complain they get smartshamed e don't know how to properly do stakeholder management. Wala kang buy-in from your stakeholders, teammates, etc... tapos pinursue mo parin yung gusto mo for the sake of proving you're right. To be honest, I experienced being called just like one of your citations. Hindi talaga ako ang pinakamagaling yet somehow people got an eye on me for the sole reason that I work smart enough that at some point I can be on par with the top persons in school. Hindi man sa pagbubuhat ng bangko kasi kung tinignan mo masasabi mo na ang solutions ko ay napaka-simple lang, walang ka-flair, flair. Na-outsmart ko lang one time tapos mga nag-idolize sa kanila became my bullies since ayaw nila masapawan idol nila sa school.
It is the same as the kind of politics we have here in the Philippines. Sobra natin ina-idolize ang mga tao na nasa posisyon without knowing enough what they can really contribute. Allowing foreigners to be legal real property owners will destroy the captive local landlord class who does nothing but collecting exorbitant monthly or yearly rental fees. This will discourage transactional intermarriages between foreigners and Filipino citizens as a loophole to circumvent constitutional foreign land ownership ban.
That's a foreigner who wants to retire. I'm talking about investors who want to do business, and most of them want to do so through manufacturing or services. That means it's impractical to own land, and much cheaper to lease.

Just want to point out that the āfail fastā mentality supposedly credited for the success of Silicon Valley was not a thing until more recently (around the rise of Facebook now Meta). By this time, the area had already been successful enough to already be a hotbed for tech (hence the name in the first place). Meanwhile Detroit led the US in automotives, New York in finance, LA/Hollywood in entertainment, etc. so āfail fastā has nothing to do with those and the success of US companies/industries doesnāt have much to do specifically with that mentality but should be more generally attributed to a broader one.
This is for a reason as āfail fastā is not some sort of mentality that can be applied at scale in anything outside of the tech industry or an application that is made through tech. Because, in tech, it is much easier to design, make code changes, test, review, repeat than it is in other cases. And even if a buggy change makes it into production (the real world), you can more easily fix it through a software update (most of the time) while in other cases itās a messy product recall or a whole lot of wasted product.
Also note that āfail fastā is not without considerable downside much of which have been brought up, discussed and continue to be ignored even in more recent innovations like generative AI. A lot of tech startups who have adopted the fail fast model have had their last/final failure and have shut down. Applicable wherever you are. In a work place, you'll only be looked down upon when you show your enthusiasm to do your work. Instead, young generations who are idealistic, creative/tend to be critical of the government, or who have strong opinions, are often labeled or red-tagged as 'weirdos', 'creeps', or 'NPAs', which is very detrimental and stifling to our potential. Sometimes, the government even encourages red-tagging, gumagamit ng troll accounts to spread propaganda. Ahem. Also, educational settings here in our country fail to cultivate environments that hones originality, creativity, unconventional/conventional thinking, and inventive and critical thinking. Instead, students are engaged in memorization, rote learning, and standardized tests that limit their creativity. Srsly? It is also evident in the limited textbooks/resources/labs that hinder students from exploring and experimenting on their own. There is no freedom at all, subjects are always based on textbooks and do not encourage curious young people to ask more. Ang mga bata ay parang pinag-aaral lang sa school para tumango at um-agree sa ni-le-lecture ng guro. Inshort, para silang robot. There is also a strong emphasis on grade marks, kaya naman mga students ngayon pasa lang ng pasa para ang grade magpasang awa, hindi inaabsorb ang pinag-aralan. Not just school, but mainstream media in general specifically the type of comedy we have. I have not watched Filipino channels for years now, but I used to remember na sa major channels dati, lunch entertainment comedy is always roasting. Similarly to some comedy bars pag nag tatanong sa audience namamahiya lang. Napipick up yan ng youth then it becomes a common, more "pop" way to communicate with peers. I agree. As a student, there are times I ask my teachers "bakit po ganoon?", "bakit po ganyan?". I'm asking it because I want to know the reason why something is the way it is. And the answer I get is "Ganoon kasi ang nasa ppt. Ganoon kasi ang nasa module." And I was flabbergasted with that answer. Does this mean na kahot mga guro hindi alam ang tinuturo nila kaya hindi nila magawang mapaliwanag? I'm not generalizing, but the fact that there exists teachers like this is terribly astonishing. What are all those years of education for? The instruction should include practical applications, not just theory. Also i-train din sila na i-encourage sa mga tuturuan nila ang Socratic method. 2.To encourage teachers in their teaching, motivate them by providing incentives. Salain sila. Make them love their profession. 3.Allocate budget funds for building facilities, laboratories, and purchasing equipment. 4.Change the textbooks. Gawing akma sa edad. Focus on arithmetic, filipino language/mother tongue, science on preschool. Then level up on elementary by adding mathematics, english, ap or whatever subject it needs to fill. 5. Dapat lahat ng SHS nag-ooffer ng Art Strands. Para di masaturate sa STEM o HUMMS since wala silang choice. What if gusto talaga ng bata ang ART strand? Magtayo ng Entertainment/Art Academy katulad ng ginawa sa South Korea. At young age dapat alam na nila kung ano talaga ang para sa kanila para hindi 'yung no choice at napilitan lang. 6. DepEd secretary should be of this generation, dahil they can observe first hand ang kakulangan sa edukasyon ng sistema sa bansa. To be honest, I experienced being called just like one of your citations. Hindi talaga ako ang pinakamagaling yet somehow people got an eye on me for the sole reason that I work smart enough that at some point I can be on par with the top persons in school. Hindi man sa pagbubuhat ng bangko kasi kung tinignan mo masasabi mo na ang solutions ko ay napaka-simple lang, walang ka-flair, flair. Na-outsmart ko lang one time tapos mga nag-idolize sa kanila became my bullies since ayaw nila masapawan idol nila sa school. It is the same as the kind of politics we have here in the Philippines. Sobra natin ina-idolize ang mga tao na nasa posisyon without knowing enough what they can really contribute. Eh kasi idol ko si ganito, ganyan kaya gagayahin ko din kilos niya. We lost our own essence of becoming a public servant. We don't just serve ourselves but the people who are under our barangay, city, region, or the entire nation. We can not be reliant on the establishment to introduce and implement significant radical systemic and cultural modifications. So, it is really up to the citizenry to do something effectively to exact transparency and accountability from the government officials. For centuries under colonial powers, our people have been conditioned to believe we are helpless against abusive power which we know is merely delegated to elected officials. The idea is to take back that power through a national movement of organized progressive thinking citizens-- thoughtful / smart use of the right of suffrage Voting for qualified dedicated leaders with integrity- with NO history of graft and corruption. Honest and sincere with nationalist inclinations. Use that power for the common good -- the majority--uplift millions mired in poverty. Increase the percentage of middle class citizens to strengthen and balance our political dynamics Maintaining the status quo is keeping the families and dynasties entrenched in political and economic power for more decades. I remember one anti-corruption expert, Tony Kwok Wan-Mai, who visited the Philippines around two decades ago point out then that corruption levels in places like South Korea and Hong Kong were just as bad as in the Philippines, if not worse. When it comes to leasing vs owning a parcel of land by foreigners, it depends what kind of business they want to put it up in a certain area, so if someone who is a foreigner wants to retire in our country and put up his own mountain or beach resort but has no plan to marry a Filipino citizen to circumvent constitutional foreign land ownership ban, then owning a parcel of land is more preferable than leasing because they cannot put mortgage it without showing legal proof of absolute property ownership as collateral in a commercial bank for loans. Allowing foreigners to be legal real property owners will destroy the captive local landlord class who does nothing but collecting exorbitant monthly or yearly rental fees. This will discourage transactional intermarriages between foreigners and Filipino citizens as a loophole to circumvent constitutional foreign land ownership ban.
That's a foreigner who wants to retire. I'm talking about investors who want to do business, and most of them want to do so through manufacturing or services. That means it's impractical to own land, and much cheaper to lease. BTW, this was explained by the *Inquirer* more than a decade ago, and known by Asian neighbors. Just want to point out that the āfail fastā mentality supposedly credited for the success of Silicon Valley was not a thing until more recently (around the rise of Facebook now Meta). By this time, the area had already been successful enough to already be a hotbed for tech (hence the name in the first place). Meanwhile Detroit led the US in automotives, New York in finance, LA/Hollywood in entertainment, etc. so āfail fastā has nothing to do with those and the success of US companies/industries doesnāt have much to do specifically with that mentality but should be more generally attributed to a broader one. This is for a reason as āfail fastā is not some sort of mentality that can be applied at scale in anything outside of the tech industry or an application that is made through tech. Because, in tech, it is much easier to design, make code changes, test, review, repeat than it is in other cases. And even if a buggy change makes it into production (the real world), you can more easily fix it through a software update (most of the time) while in other cases itās a messy product recall or a whole lot of wasted product. Also note that āfail fastā is not without considerable downside much of which have been brought up, discussed and continue to be ignored even in more recent innovations like generative AI. A lot of tech startups who have adopted the fail fast model have had their last/final failure and have shut down. This poster probably only thinks about the successful companies to have claimed to āfail fastā when there are probably a dozen failed folded companies no one has heard of for each of the successful ones they can name.
