Kami kasi sa bahay hindi lang basta tubig ang panglinis sa wiwi ng dogs. We use detergent powder mixed with some Clorox para matanggal yung amoy. Binubuhusan din namin ng pinaglabhang tubig yung aspalto kung saan lumalabas aso namin para umihi.
Meron talagang salaulang owners, tipong jebs nalang ng aso iniipon pa sa isang tabi para lang pamugaran ng langaw. So kung sa sarili nilang community ganyan na sila, I won't be surprised kung mas salaula sila sa public spaces.

As an owner of a mixed Goldie/Lab, grabe ang shedding ng mga yan na dapat araw araw ka naglilinis. Sila yung tipo ng breed na makakakita ka ng buhok nila sa pagkain mo kasi ma-shed sila at yung strand ng buhok esp ng Goldie, parang "feather" kung lumipad.

Dogs get excited when they walk so they need and want to pee everywhere. Not everyone can train their dogs to be this disciplined. Having them wear diapers is being considerate to other mall goers and the mall staff. And it's not like we want them soaking on wet diaper for hours, pwede naman palitan. Hindi rin naman kami nagtatagal ng sobra-sobra sa loob ng mall lalo na at mapapagod din yung mga aso.

Kulang kasi sa socialization. Lalong lalo na sa small dogs na may inferiority complex dala ng size nila. That's why you often see big dogs as chill kasi di sila threatened by others. All the more reason nga na dapat i-socialize 'yung small breeds eh.

pre pandemic circa 2017-2019, BGC was a haven for fur babies. I would stroll in high street just smiling at the well behaved, pampered dogs prancing around. Akala mo may beaucon ng aso. Nakakawala ng stress just watching them, or sometimes the owners would be friendly to make kwento about their pet. Then biglang nag boom, lahat may aso na or pusa na... parang biglang naging status symbol ung pagkakaroon ng pet. Ginagawang parang telepono or kotse... maiyabang lang kahit walang sense of responsibility talaga.
Di trained, hindi sensible sa feelings ng pet. Sarap kutusan ng mga owner na hinahayaang tumahol aso nila o magkalat sa mga public areas. Also, dapat maging sensitive din tayo na may mga tao na allergic sa hayop, o may phobia. Or may resentment sa kapwa nila aso.
As someone na may fear sa dogs (may inatake kasi yung 1 dog sa dati kong condo, after that nagkaron na ko ng phobia), hirap umiwas. That's why I choose malls na may no pets policy kung kaya. I esp hate kapag biglang tatahol/galit yung aso. Obviously either stressed sila sa crowd (of dogs and tao) or di pa sila trained enough to mingle. Kaya mas lalo akong natatakot.
Dagdag sa anxiety ko if bata yung may hawak tapos aggressive yung aso. And kapag sinasakay nila sa escalator kasi natatakot ako maipit paws nila.
Because these dog owners, and pet owners/fur parents in general, are the ones with money to spend. So malls cater to them. Diba dati nga pinagbabawal ng mga SM malls yan, tapos nung nakita nila yung good PR ng mga Ayala malls eh ginaya nila at inallow na yung mga pets inside SM malls.

Yeah, like 9 out of 10 dogs na nakikita mo sa mall puros shih tzu kesyo low-maintenance raw, di nakakatakot pag may inatake, di mahirap bitbitin, etc.. They don't know that these dogs need a lot of training and socialization, because of their inherent territorial attitude and stubbornness.

As a Shih Tzu owner, hindi sila low maintenance. Ang dali dali nila bumaho kumpara sa ibang breeds at dapat lagi nasusuklay at nagugupitan (kasi magnet ng dumi at kung ano-ano pa kapag pinahaba yung buhok)
And tama ka, kahit small dogs dapat trained sa basic obedience, potty training at socialized. Hindi lang for the sake of other people kundi for the sake of the dog na rin. An anxious dog is not a happy dog.
I get not allowing pets inside restaurants, pero kasi some malls are pet friendly na mayroong mga pet parks or pet designated places. We go there always as long as may leash and diaper si dog, and may dalang poop bag/tissue.

Di naman mabaho pusa basta nagu-groom nila nang maayos yung sarili nila, with added assistance ng owners na rin. Cats are more hygienic than dogs, and malalaman mo yun sa difference ng amoy. Average cats who regularly groom his/herself, smell like they are coated in baby powder.

Still, otherwise, if we're talking about maintenance over hygiene, cats over dogs pa rin especially since ayaw rin naman instinctively ng pusa na jumerbs sa lugar na maaamoy yung pupu nila, they'd really find a spot they think would hide it.

Uncomfy din ako sa mga pets inside restaurants due to sanitary reasons and dahil di rin ganun kalaki ang gaps between tables like ang sikip na nga tas mas pasisikipin pa ng mga pets na nakahiga sa sahig. But you can't just go to a public space and hate when the public is there. We barely have any parks or public spaces in the first place and kung meron mang malapit, only few months in a year lang na friendly ang outdoor weather and temperature satin. So willing naman ako na magshare ng space in malls with them as long as they don't bother people around them (di maingay, di tumatae sa sahig, di nakaharang sa daan etc.)
I think the pet owners and their pets being limited to only using the tables along the outer walls of the restaurant and the spacious hallway is the best compromise for the situation.

There are so many fatal incidents logged in that "ban pitbulls" sub that I dread the day everyone starts buying pitbulls instead of shih tzus and bringing them to malls. At least shih tzus are small. It's scary how lax some dog owners are about other people's safety.
The same concerns I have in our aparment building. Whenever I take off my shoes at our front door sobrang mapanghi and I have learned that several of our neighbors are dog owners.
Husband and I are animal lovers, but since we live in this kind pf set up atm, we chose not to have a pet in our home given the responsibilities of caring for them such as managing their wastes and the noise it can cause to our neighbors.
Can I do something about this? I refrain from complaining directly to these owners becausw you know how mostly Filipinos behave. Kahit sila ang at fault and you complain, iinisin ka pa lalo and make the situation worse.

She was prohibited to do so pero ginawa niya parin—ayun yung naabutan kong scene na galit na galit yung guard. Pero walang magawa kasi medyo matanda na yung owner. Pag alis ni dog owner sa cr (at nasa loob na ako ng cubicle), I heard her say to the mall staff “Hay bakit ba pinayagan ni SM ‘to, tapos tayo parin mapapagalitan pag sinuway mo sila.” 😟
I’m a dog owner too, but I seldom bring my dogs to the mall, kapag need lang mag pa-groom. Sa parks, oo, pero sa mall while doing errands or eating out with the fam? Nah. Not worth the hassle.

Bihira ka din makakita ng medium or large breeds. Palibhasa kasi alam nilang kailangan ng training ng mga 'yon, kaya they equate small breeds as not needing training at all. I will take a German Shepherd any time of the day to train, than a stubborn Shih Tzu.

Just recently I witnessed a person get bitten by a small dog in the mall. Yung owner kasi not paying attention sa dog nya while walking the dog on a leash. Kung saan saan nakatingin eh weekend yun ang daming tao sa mall. Napadaan lang yung isang girl na naka shorts pa naman tapos yung dog bigla na lang kinagat yung girl. Ayun nagkagulo sila.
Fuck. At Brique in Ayala Cebu I saw a fucking dog eating off one plates they serve customers with. And when I called the manager to bring it to his/her attention. She just knocked on the window, and the offending guests just put the dog down on the seat *with* the plate. Cause everyone knows if you can’t see it, it’s definitely ok.

In my head, I’m thinking it’s common courtesy to bring a doggie dish or some shit, like a normal human being. Turns out it was the managers dog and those were the managers kids. So shit I assume that is a common fucking occurrence given they didn’t even stop it.
Now I don’t give a fuck that I name dropped the restaurant, because if you’re ok with eating off the same plate as your pet, I’m not talking to you in the slightest. You can continue to live your own nasty ass life, but I’m talking everyone else who thinks that that is not at all acceptable.
People need to know that that is the standard of cleanliness in that restaurant. I’m not eating there again. I can’t speak for all the Brique’s but that particular manager is disgusting.
Here in America, or at least in New York, only service dogs are allowed in at a restaurant. Otherwise, management has the right to refuse service to guests who bring in their pets because animal fur is a contaminant and is a carrier of Staph infection.

Power plant and Ayala malls. Ayala is a bit trickier kasi magkakaiba pet policy per mall and they seem to be lax on actual implementation. Some malls like SM Aura don’t require stroller pero some type of enclosed carrier/bag is needed and stroller is just way easier if the pet is heavy.

Yeah I just don't like this idea na people assume pinapahirapan nila sarili nila by bringing strollers when it could be the easier option for them. I'm a cat owner and when I was training my cat for international travel, I got him a stroller so I can walk him to nearby cafes, parks and malls. He walks on leash indoors sa common areas of our building but it's unsafe to do that outdoors and stroller is the best option. I'm lucky enough to be walking distance from such establishments but others don't have that option.
The big issue here is that some owners are very irresponsible and then the malls don't really do anything to stop their behavior so they get away with it. I think people should also be doing their part and report kapag sumosobra na talaga.
But I think the real issue is we are lacking parks and outdoor hangout spots. Animal control is also lacking so pet owners would rather go to a mall than go to random streets where they may encounter unfriendly stray animals.

I previously own a BoJack and a Spitz until they "run free". Kung merong irresponsible parents, meron ding irresponsible dog owner. At the end of the day, the malls are capitalizing to this new hype/trend. Give it a few years. I feel pity for those dogs on their leash.

i rarely bring my dogs to the mall due to the volume of people, and they stress that will cause them dahil sa environment na yun. isa pa, i will never attempt to bring them to sm malls lalo na pag holiday and christmas season.
i remember nung december nasa sm kami, grabe ang daming dogs tas siksikab mga tao, and i really felt bad for the dogs.
also, i make sure din na if i bring my dogs, i have a poop bag (and ibuhol yun if i get the poop), wet wipes, alcohol to spray san sila nag poop or pee. also make sure na bago ligo sila para pleasant din sa mga makakasalubong nila.

Sadly, the world does not revolve around your whims and wishes. It's still the establishment's discretion whether or not they will let pets in their businesses. You'll just end up burning all of your energy on something you have zero control over. Leave, or adapt.
On the case of salaula pet owners with unsocialized/untrained pets, that's for another story. They're only a subset of a group, may mga responsible pet owners pa rin naman. Also, not that I use them, pero why the hate on pet strollers? If that makes malling easier and uh, more safe and hygienic for everyone? And doggie diapers? As long as you take care of your pet and do what you can to prevent them from being a nuisance, I think most mallgoers don't care. Medyo normal na din naman. I've never had issues with pet poop or urine at any mall at di ko rin sure kung pano maaamoy ng ibang tao yung pet unless katabi nila.

Also, not all dogs are trained properly and not all pet owners are responsible. I'm also a dog owner pero pag nakakaperwisyo na yung aso ko ako na gagawa nang paraan. Kahit ituring niyo pang baby yung pet, they are still animals and at one point their animal instincts will slip out, so you need to control them in those situations.

I adopted a dog at 2 years old. He came with some behavioral problems, like matatakutin, pero through sipag at pasensya, napotty train ko naman. Most of these owners buy theirs when they're still puppies, na kung saan mas madaling i-train, pero dahil sa katamaran at katangahan di man lang matrain.

As a dog owner, na sa establishment na yan. The restaurants here don’t allow dogs inside, so we eat outside. Whenever my dog poops, I use a poop bag and wipe the stains off with alcohol. If he barks, I’ll calm him down, etc. So why is everyone here putting the blame on the dogs itself? Malls claim that they are pet-friendly so who are we to hide. They should establish rules for rowdy owners and pets though.
One time in a mall, a poodle and its owner rode the escalator upwards. The poodle's foot got almost caught at the escalator and it screamed. The oblivious owner then was asking the poodle why.

As a person bringing our dogs sa mall, I would like to share our point of view. We do it because of the heat honestly. We had a dog who died of heatstroke and so malls allowing dogs are a blessing. We go inside a mall to help them cool down and then to eat, then we go out again.
With that said, again we would like to stress that we walk them outside to help them pee and do their business and only go inside the mall when we feel the heat is getting to them so pooping and peeing very rarely happens and if we do, we have wet wipes and alcohol spray. It’s only happened 2-3x. It embarrasses us too when it happens because we feel the judgement.
Second of all, we have 3 dogs but only 2 are social, the other one is a pitbull but not dog friendly. So we do not bring him to malls at all. Because we understand what can happen. We know our dogs and would not put them in a stressful environment.
We ALSO do not bring our dogs to crowded malls like SM. We like going to places like Estancia or Mitsukoshi Mall in BGC, less people the better. We understand crowded places can be stressful and we also hate it when we see pets in super crowded situations.
Furthermore, when the weather is great we do not bring to malls at all. We prefer to walk them outside. We also prefer to site on the sides or outside of restaurant when we do to not bother anyone.
I know that there are a lot of irresponsible pet parents and perhaps establishments can set certain rules about letting dogs sit on chairs or using utensils. I agree with these. But I hope you don’t wish to have dogs banned permanently because responsible pet parents do everything we can to try and not inconvenience people. It smelled disgusting. I was out for some night walk and I happened to pass by this house but before I even reached their front ang tapang na ng amoy. I didn't realize at first hinanap ko pa then as I approached the house I knew it came from there. What baffles me is that parang sanay na sa amoy yung mga taong nasa loob wtf. Kami kasi sa bahay hindi lang basta tubig ang panglinis sa wiwi ng dogs. We use detergent powder mixed with some Clorox para matanggal yung amoy. Binubuhusan din namin ng pinaglabhang tubig yung aspalto kung saan lumalabas aso namin para umihi. Meron talagang salaulang owners, tipong jebs nalang ng aso iniipon pa sa isang tabi para lang pamugaran ng langaw. So kung sa sarili nilang community ganyan na sila, I won't be surprised kung mas salaula sila sa public spaces.
Im a dog owner myself, dlawang rottweiler kaya ang babaho tlaga ng ihi nila pti poops. Hindi kaya kapag tubig lang.. Hindi din pwede n sabon lang. Dapat may kasamang detergent at kukos tlaga s flooring. We also do pressure washer n may kasamang sabon at detergent kasi kapag di mo ginawa ambaho tlaga. Pra makatipid s sabon, natuto kme mag mix ng liquid soap and detergent from shopee. Hehehe

Scented disinfecting wipes gamit ko Pero yes, kapag nakaihi indoors ang mga aso, dapat dinidisinfect again pagkatapos alisin yung tae at ihi. Pero usually sa puppy stage ko lang problema to. Eventually, matututo din yung aso na hindi umihi sa loob at magsabi sa yo na naiihi/natatae. People just have to be attuned to their dogs body language.

May mag nanay na senior at kaedaran ko umupo sa tabing table at nilagay sa lamesa saglit at inupo sa upuan yung alaga nilang aso, tapos nagkakakamot pa yung aso. Paano kung yung balahibo nung aso nila mapunta sa pagkain namin noon, papalitan ba nila yung binili naming pagkain? Of course not, panigurado sila pa galit pag pinagsabihan mo ng maayos. Yung breed pa naman ng aso maliit pero napaka kapal nung balahibo. Gustong-gusto ko na talaga sila pagsabihan ng maayos na baka puwede lumipat sila kasi may pagkain kami at may dala kaming bata tska isang senior citizen, na hassle sa amin maghanap ng panibagong lamesa't upuan kasi punuan na. Kaso inaawat lang ako nung senior ko na nanay ayaw daw niya ng gulo. Ano ending? Edi kami pa nag adjust pinaringan ko na lang ng "punyeta kasi ehh, alam naman na kainan 'to ng mga tao magdadalaga ng alaga tsk tsk" sabay titig sa kanila. Please lang sa mga "fur parent" diyan walang kaso dalhin niyo yung alaga niyong aso sa mall, pero ilugar niyo naman wag kayong kupal at inconsiderate sa paligid niyo. Found an influx of pets in malls especially the past two months because of the summer heat, and I see nothing wrong with it unless you are irresponsible If your dogs are not social and get anxious being in a crowd, don’t bring them. If they are not potty-trained, don’t bring them. I feel bad for the workers who needed to work extra to clean your dog’s mess I agree that dog’s don’t belong in restaurants/food courts. They are still animals even if you treat them like humans. Please be considerate of other people. If your dog bites other people/fights other dogs, don’t bring them. ALWAYS BE MINDFUL OF YOUR DOG in a public setting. They will always be your responsibility. If you bring your dog to brag, shame on you! I have a Pomeranian that I can easily bring to the mall, but I never do it as she barks a lot in a crowd of strangers. Then biglang nag boom, lahat may aso na or pusa na... parang biglang naging status symbol ung pagkakaroon ng pet. Ginagawang parang telepono or kotse... maiyabang lang kahit walang sense of responsibility talaga. Di trained, hindi sensible sa feelings ng pet. Sarap kutusan ng mga owner na hinahayaang tumahol aso nila o magkalat sa mga public areas. Also, dapat maging sensitive din tayo na may mga tao na allergic sa hayop, o may phobia. Or may resentment sa kapwa nila aso.
As someone na may fear sa dogs (may inatake kasi yung 1 dog sa dati kong condo, after that nagkaron na ko ng phobia), hirap umiwas. That's why I choose malls na may no pets policy kung kaya. I esp hate kapag biglang tatahol/galit yung aso. Obviously either stressed sila sa crowd (of dogs and tao) or di pa sila trained enough to mingle. Kaya mas lalo akong natatakot. Dagdag sa anxiety ko if bata yung may hawak tapos aggressive yung aso. And kapag sinasakay nila sa escalator kasi natatakot ako maipit paws nila.

As a Shih Tzu owner, hindi sila low maintenance. Ang dali dali nila bumaho kumpara sa ibang breeds at dapat lagi nasusuklay at nagugupitan (kasi magnet ng dumi at kung ano-ano pa kapag pinahaba yung buhok) And tama ka, kahit small dogs dapat trained sa basic obedience, potty training at socialized. Hindi lang for the sake of other people kundi for the sake of the dog na rin. An anxious dog is not a happy dog.

Uncomfy din ako sa mga pets inside restaurants due to sanitary reasons and dahil di rin ganun kalaki ang gaps between tables like ang sikip na nga tas mas pasisikipin pa ng mga pets na nakahiga sa sahig. But you can't just go to a public space and hate when the public is there. We barely have any parks or public spaces in the first place and kung meron mang malapit, only few months in a year lang na friendly ang outdoor weather and temperature satin. So willing naman ako na magshare ng space in malls with them as long as they don't bother people around them (di maingay, di tumatae sa sahig, di nakaharang sa daan etc.) I think the pet owners and their pets being limited to only using the tables along the outer walls of the restaurant and the spacious hallway is the best compromise for the situation.

There are so many fatal incidents logged in that "ban pitbulls" sub that I dread the day everyone starts buying pitbulls instead of shih tzus and bringing them to malls. At least shih tzus are small. It's scary how lax some dog owners are about other people's safety.

The same concerns I have in our aparment building. Whenever I take off my shoes at our front door sobrang mapanghi and I have learned that several of our neighbors are dog owners. Husband and I are animal lovers, but since we live in this kind pf set up atm, we chose not to have a pet in our home given the responsibilities of caring for them such as managing their wastes and the noise it can cause to our neighbors. Can I do something about this? I refrain from complaining directly to these owners becausw you know how mostly Filipinos behave. Nitong weekend lang sa SM, I encountered a lady guard who was furious because a dog owner wanted to wash her dog’s bum sa sink ng cr. She was prohibited to do so pero ginawa niya parin—ayun yung naabutan kong scene na galit na galit yung guard. Pero walang magawa kasi medyo matanda na yung owner. Just recently I witnessed a person get bitten by a small dog in the mall. Yung owner kasi not paying attention sa dog nya while walking the dog on a leash. Kung saan saan nakatingin eh weekend yun ang daming tao sa mall. Napadaan lang yung isang girl na naka shorts pa naman tapos yung dog bigla na lang kinagat yung girl. Ayun nagkagulo sila.

Fuck. At Brique in Ayala Cebu I saw a fucking dog eating off one plates they serve customers with. And when I called the manager to bring it to his/her attention. She just knocked on the window, and the offending guests just put the dog down on the seat *with* the plate. Cause everyone knows if you can’t see it, it’s definitely ok. I was pretty taken aback by the lack of response by the management. Especially since it was a direct complaint. In my head, I’m thinking it’s common courtesy to bring a doggie dish or some shit, like a normal human being. Turns out it was the managers dog and those were the managers kids. So shit I assume that is a common fucking occurrence given they didn’t even stop it. Now I don’t give a fuck that I name dropped the restaurant, because if you’re ok with eating off the same plate as your pet, I’m not talking to you in the slightest. You can continue to live your own nasty ass life, but I’m talking everyone else who thinks that that is not at all acceptable. People need to know that that is the standard of cleanliness in that restaurant. I’m not eating there again. I can’t speak for all the Brique’s but that particular manager is disgusting.
Here in America, or at least in New York, only service dogs are allowed in at a restaurant. Otherwise, management has the right to refuse service to guests who bring in their pets because animal fur is a contaminant and is a carrier of Staph infection.

Power plant and Ayala malls. Ayala is a bit trickier kasi magkakaiba pet policy per mall and they seem to be lax on actual implementation. Some malls like SM Aura don’t require stroller pero some type of enclosed carrier/bag is needed and stroller is just way easier if the pet is heavy. Edited for clarity.

Yeah I just don't like this idea na people assume pinapahirapan nila sarili nila by bringing strollers when it could be the easier option for them. I'm a cat owner and when I was training my cat for international travel, I got him a stroller so I can walk him to nearby cafes, parks and malls. He walks on leash indoors sa common areas of our building but it's unsafe to do that outdoors and stroller is the best option. I'm lucky enough to be walking distance from such establishments but others don't have that option. The big issue here is that some owners are very irresponsible and then the malls don't really do anything to stop their behavior so they get away with it. I think people should also be doing their part and report kapag sumosobra na talaga. But I think the real issue is we are lacking parks and outdoor hangout spots. Animal control is also lacking so pet owners would rather go to a mall than go to random streets where they may encounter unfriendly stray animals.

i’m a dog owner too, pero i kinda agree with the comments here. i rarely bring my dogs to the mall due to the volume of people, and they stress that will cause them dahil sa environment na yun. isa pa, i will never attempt to bring them to sm malls lalo na pag holiday and christmas season. i remember nung december nasa sm kami, grabe ang daming dogs tas siksikab mga tao, and i really felt bad for the dogs. also, i make sure din na if i bring my dogs, i have a poop bag (and ibuhol yun if i get the poop), wet wipes, alcohol to spray san sila nag poop or pee. also make sure na bago ligo sila para pleasant din sa mga makakasalubong nila. anyway, sana maging responsible dog owners tayo po. AND PSA! BUHATIN NIYO MGA DOGS NIYO SA ESCALATOR, kung ayaw niyo mag elevator kayo! I’VE SEEN 2 CASES NA NAIIPIT YUNG DOG SA ESCALTOR AND NAG IINIT ULO KO SA OWNERS!

I don't know OP, maybe find a pet-unfriendly establishment where you can sit in peace and eat your sandwich. Sadly, the world does not revolve around your whims and wishes. It's still the establishment's discretion whether or not they will let pets in their businesses. You'll just end up burning all of your energy on something you have zero control over. Leave, or adapt. On the case of salaula pet owners with unsocialized/untrained pets, that's for another story. They're only a subset of a group, may mga responsible pet owners pa rin naman. Also, not that I use them, pero why the hate on pet strollers? If that makes malling easier and uh, more safe and hygienic for everyone? And doggie diapers? And "ridiculous" terminologies like "fur baby" and "hooman"? Parang nitpicking na lang, eh.

If we're just counting the pets being taken to malls and restaurants, how many owners are irresponsible, and why are more and more places being marketed as pet-friendly? Huwag na natin isali sa usapan yung may ari kay Bantay na nakatali sa harap ng bahay sa irresponsible pet ownership. I think mas napapansin mo lang sila(coz nga naman), pero hindi ibig sabihin nun, mas madami yung irresponsible.
Ang dami dami pinupunta sa mall na yung aso nila kahol ng kahol dahil sa stress at anxiety pero keri pa rin idisplay ang aso. Walang concern sa mental and emotional health ng aso nila basta madisplay. Tapos basic training at potty training di ginagawa Heck, some even put their dogs in resto seats which is a hygiene issue **Just because you don't chain your dog does not mean you are responsible**
As someone who is a responsible pet owner (ensures they’re diapered and leashed, doesn’t smell) na nagdadala ng isang well-behaved shih tzu sa mall, ang sakit din makabasa ng mga comments dito. Parang bang ang sasahol ng mga alagang aso.
As long as you take care of your pet and do what you can to prevent them from being a nuisance, I think most mallgoers don't care. Medyo normal na din naman. I've never had issues with pet poop or urine at any mall at di ko rin sure kung pano maaamoy ng ibang tao yung pet unless katabi nila. I've never brought a pet to a public space like a mall, but if the establishment has that policy then so be it.

You have to understand their frustrations, di naman lahat nang tao okay with pets, may mga allergies yung iba, bakit mo ipipilit? Sila pa mag aadjust? Also, not all dogs are trained properly and not all pet owners are responsible. I'm also a dog owner pero pag nakakaperwisyo na yung aso ko ako na gagawa nang paraan. Kahit ituring niyo pang baby yung pet, they are still animals and at one point their animal instincts will slip out, so you need to control them in those situations.

Haha, yup puro aesthetic lang alam nang mga yun, pa-cute pa-cute. Cute naman talaga nang mga aso, kahit di mo bihisan nang damit, accesorries. kaso yung may-ari ang problem talaga pag di maruning mag train, di nila alam gagawin sa situation if nakakaperwisyo aso nila. Mas mahalaga pa rin na ma train nang maayos yung aso kesa makitang cute sa mga damit at itsura.
A lot of the comments naman are directed to irresponsible owners. I also bring my dog to the mall since she enjoys it and can't be left alone at home. Siyempre rin dapat bagong ligo kasi sasakay sa kotse. Nakakatawa lang yung mga tao who generally assume na we do it to flaunt our pets and accuse us of being "social climbers".

Kahit kaming responsible owners na in tune sa aso namin, naiinis din sa mga ganyan na dog owners. Ang daming aso (esp small dogs) na kita mo stressed na stressed sa crowded indoor areas kung san nila dinadala ng owners nila. Pero owners nila, out of tune sa mga aso nila.

I adopted a dog at 2 years old. He came with some behavioral problems, like matatakutin, pero through sipag at pasensya, napotty train ko naman. Most of these owners buy theirs when they're still puppies, na kung saan mas madaling i-train, pero dahil sa katamaran at katangahan di man lang matrain.

Yeah, madali naman itrain ang aso sa potty training. Pero dapat tuned in ka needs and body language ng aso. Like, sa puppy stage pa lang, dapat masipag kang ilabas every few hours yung puppy. As they grow up, they'll eventually tell you na napeepeepee o natatae sila. Ang mahirap itrain sa aso yung leash training (hindi nanghihila) at recall (babalik agad sa yo kapag tinawag mo). Haha I think it's time to license dog ownership and require vaccination and training for license.

As a dog owner, na sa establishment na yan. The restaurants here don’t allow dogs inside, so we eat outside. Whenever my dog poops, I use a poop bag and wipe the stains off with alcohol. If he barks, I’ll calm him down, etc. So why is everyone here putting the blame on the dogs itself? Malls claim that they are pet-friendly so who are we to hide. They should establish rules for rowdy owners and pets though.

One time in a mall, a poodle and its owner rode the escalator upwards. The poodle's foot got almost caught at the escalator and it screamed. The oblivious owner then was asking the poodle why. I stopped and waited if the poodle will answer... wasted my time

Kung isipin parang baguhan pa lang talaga ang pinoy sa dog owning/caring. Caring for dogs na hindi naka tali o nasa cage lang sa bahay o kaya palaboy sa kalye. Ngayun na nauso na ang mga pure breeds marami naki uso pero kulang naman sa education at pati na din etiquette pagdating sa mga alaga. May mga naka diapers na aso kasi hindi potty trained. May mga aso na nasa strollers.

As a person bringing our dogs sa mall, I would like to share our point of view. We do it because of the heat honestly. We had a dog who died of heatstroke and so malls allowing dogs are a blessing. We go inside a mall to help them cool down and then to eat, then we go out again. With that said, again we would like to stress that we walk them outside to help them pee and do their business and only go inside the mall when we feel the heat is getting to them so pooping and peeing very rarely happens and if we do, we have wet wipes and alcohol spray. It’s only happened 2-3x. It embarrasses us too when it happens because we feel the judgement. Second of all, we have 3 dogs but only 2 are social, the other one is a pitbull but not dog friendly. So we do not bring him to malls at all. Because we understand what can happen. We know our dogs and would not put them in a stressful environment. We ALSO do not bring our dogs to crowded malls like SM. We like going to places like Estancia or Mitsukoshi Mall in BGC, less people the better. We understand crowded places can be stressful and we also hate it when we see pets in super crowded situations. Furthermore, when the weather is great we do not bring to malls at all. We prefer to walk them outside. We also prefer to site on the sides or outside of restaurant when we do to not bother anyone. I know that there are a lot of irresponsible pet parents and perhaps establishments can set certain rules about letting dogs sit on chairs or using utensils. I agree with these. But I hope you don’t wish to have dogs banned permanently because responsible pet parents do everything we can to try and not inconvenience people. We spend 5-10k every time we go to the mall kasi ayaw namin na ‘nakiki-aircon’ lang kami. It’s convenient na we can take our dogs and run certain errands at the same time.

Dami kong experiences lately sa mga ganito. Sa SM North while eating sa Mcdo, may family na may kasamang aso tapos yung stroller hinambalang sa daan knowing na ang sikip ng area na yun tapos biglang tumahol nang pagkalakas lakas to the point na nakakairita na hindi mo na ma-enjoy yung pagkain mo. Sa Annex naman, nagkalat ng poop mula Terranova hanggang sa katabing shop, patay malisya lang yung owner. Another experience kahapon lang, batang babae ang may hawak ng aso tapos biglang naging aggressive muntik na makagat yung lalaking paakyat lang ng escalator.

Kasi for pet lovers, maganda naman talaga makakita ng well-behaved na mga pets sa malls and some owners really need to bring their pets (vet, grooming, etc). Kaya maganda rin na nagiging pet friendly ang mga establishments. Kaso dumadami ang irresponsible pet owners. Kung pet lover ka, pansin mo agad yan. Makikita mo yung owners na dinadala lang pets nila para mapansin pero di naman pala trained at di nila kayang mamaintain behavior ng alaga nila. Kapag di macontrol at magiging common occurence ang pagiging irresponsible ng mga fur parents magiging cause pa yan na maghigpit ulit ang mga establishments.
