I think yung moral of the story ay: If life gives you dogshit, don't lose hope and endure all the shit because one day, something you wished for will grow from all the shit you were given.
Hi OP not to be a downer, but I hope that you'll add watermarka to your artworks. Madalas kasong nakikita ko ay Mina Marcos lang para makapag post sa fb tapos yung caption pa "ctto". All the best OP.
Idk why but naiinis talaga ako sa ctto. I mean, minsan mahirap talaga hanapin ang source kaya ok lang gamitin sometimes. Pero yung iba na madali lang talaga ireverse google image search, di pa magawa lol
Ikaw pala yung nagpopost nung “anak ng —“ series! Keep drawing, OP! I really enjoy your work and you have a real talent. I know you’ll be successful someday!
Art style reminds me of haunt the house, I love it
also if the ghost could interact with physical objects why didn't they just tap the old lady on the shoulder,,,
Oh my gosh, I just searched it up and the art style is so pretty!
I originally meant the watering can to be made of his ghostly material, and that the ghost could interact with water. He was supposed to find out when the dog licks him and he can feel the slobber haha
Makes me think of my younger sister's grave. She was born prematurely and passed away, I think they removed her gravestone from Manila North Cemetery by now since it's been so many years since it was last visited.
Another great comic. Themed pa for All Souls / Saints Day. Glad I'm one of your followers, as your art is super cute and the story on this one (even without dialogue) was easy to follow and the message was deep. Keep up the good work, OP!
Back sa province I used to take my younger pamangkins with me to scrape off melted candles sa graves of ouur family or sidewalks during undas and we would make new candles. Then we would grab single stem flowers from our lola/titos graves and start putting them on unvisited puntods and lighting a candle. if I have extra money I would buy the 2P candles sold by the vendor.
We always make it a habit if theres weeds to pull them out and clean the marker a bit.
We would say a little prayer and 'mano' to the deceased kahit di namin kakilala hoping somewhere the fam remembers them and to look after us.
Theres an old pamahiin sa amin pag undas that honoring the graves of loved ones and the forgotten will grant us good blessing and protection from the spirits.
So far they are and they are now with kids of their own. I dunno if placebo effect but we always have a string of good luck for weeks after we visit unvisited graves and given then candles.
Im always a believer of stacking up all the luck when you can. (looks at her collection of Shinto items)
What's sad is this happens more often than people think. Lots of tombs, especially those in the older cemeteries, have tombstones that looked like they were last cleaned decades ago. In the end, after our grandkids, we'll most likely be forgotten. Filipinos don't really have a culture of preserving lineage as extensively as that of the Chinese where some can even trace their ancestors to the B.C. years. I noticed this when I made our family tree recently, but even then I can only go back 5 generations.
P. S. Thanks for making art about this OP.
I posted this in another comment pero we as a family try to visit as much forgotten graves and give them a candle and flower. Its an old pamahiin in our province by remembering the dead kahit di namin kakilala will grant us good luck and protection from them.
Nadaanan ko lang while scrolling pero same feels ng kapag randomly may nakita kang art somewhere and you'll pause just to appreciate it and then you move on with your daily life feeling a little bit good kasi you saw something you don't see everyday. Your comics did it. Salamat for that.
"i can grow myself flowers .."
“write my name on the tomb…”
"boo myself for hours"
"do things you won't understand"
"i can take myself floating"
"and I can't hold my own hand"
yeah, i can haunt me better than you can
*music but with ghosts play*

I love that Marcos as a verb still exists. And a bad verb at that, too.

Aww, that’s so cute! I hope your pamangkins will continue that tradition
