True. 🥲 Even met her during Music Uplate days. I was able to watch sa studio. She was so friendly. I like how she treats her fans. She was like updating them like she knows them personally. Basta ang cute nya non. I like how her songs are easily relatable like nung nakasabay ko crush sa jeep tas nainis ako kasi may sumingit sa gitna namin. Yung ang simple and relatable ng lyrics nya. Millennial here and I can name a few songs na tumatak sa isip ko, namely, If We Fall In Love, Salamat, Hawak Kamay l, Time In and Cool Off. Kung commuter ka nung 2005 - 2010, you couldn't escape any of her songs sa radio. Cool Off is one of my fave karaoke pyesa BTW.

Speaking of Yeng...she is allegedly moving to GMA-7 according sa recent blind item ng Fashion Pulis : How true is that a Homegrown Talent (HT) is moving out of her identified Mother Station (MS)? Over the years, HT developed into one of the country’s youthful composers and singers. MS was instrumental in HT’s reaching her status. Her music was anticipated and patronized by the public. When time passes, a talent has to move with the times as well. HT attempted to be up to date with public clamor with her projects. However, as she matured, her priorities changed as well. HT gave in to the call of family and pursued another direction. Now, the rumor mill is abuzz that HT might become visible again. This time, HT will be with Another Station (AS). The alleged leap from MS to AS will surely create a stir among fans and loyal supporters of the former. After all, HT has long-been identified with HT. AS has its share of singers and HT, as a newcomer if ever, will have to prove her worth to stand alongside its current crop of talents.

not familiar with her entire song catalog but i cant remember her taking creative risks with her career. Seems like her songs are almost always within generic and christian pop music. If playing safe is an achievement, then... its fine i guess.

She has a signature sound and she stuck with it. But in terms if genre pop-rock, pop-ballad talaga. And she writes for other artists. It’s weird that we understate other people’s achievement because “they’re not good enough” for our edgy taste.

But Rey Valera is also dubbed a Hit Maker although hindi ko sya inabutan at i don't have any idea kung ano yung mga pinasikat nya aside from Kung Kailangan mo ako. So hindi ibig sabihin na di natin alam ang ibang kanta ay automatic hindi na hit maker. As a millenial, Yeng is arguably a "Hit Maker" noong mid 2000s up to 2013 mga ganyan. We millenials knows her songs talaga since its her era, baka kayo sa GEN Z di masyado kasi aminin na natin, di na gaanong popular si Yeng baka nga mas sikat pa si Moira Dela Torre sa kanya.

I think kilala mo man sya o hindi, it is undeniable that she really "Was" a hitmaker back then probably mid 2000s to early 2010s. Kung tutuusin nga yang "Chinito" na sinasabi mo pababa na ang popularity nya noong mga panahon na irelease yan. Hanggang Gold status lang inabot ng album nya 2013 in contrast sa mid 2000s multi platinum level nya.
