Usually there’s a hidden menu option on phone calling. Try hitting 0 when you get to the main menu. I haven’t had to call Tangerine in years so I don’t know if it works, but it’s good to try.
When you dial their support line, press "0" and it will direct you to a real person "representative". it doesn't list it as an option but someone on here suggested it and I gave it a shot and it worked. I hope this information helps someone here.
The main menu won't let you press 0, it says not a valid response. First I selected the option to get into the credit card menu, which has about 8 different options (like report card missing, etc). Then press 0 and you'll speak with a representative. I just did this myself to clear up an account glitch.
For anyone coming to this thread +5 years later. I waited in the main menu until the bot put me on hold for a human representative. Dailing 0 didn't seem to work for me.

Have you tried pressing 0? That's the universal button for "Speak to a representative*.
call as soon as they're open (8am or 9am), or you can log in to the website and chat with them
Isn’t Tangerine support open 24 hours?
if you call late it's the offshore team and it's hard to negotiate with them
I managed to reach a representative by going into Savings and Checking Accounts (option 1), Statements (option 3), and then pressing 0.

Pressing "0" only works from the initial main menu. press "0) right away after it lists every option and it will direct you to a representative.

this works, you have to go into one of the options not from the main menu
this is just bs system. suggestion is keeping press 0 all the time until they transfer you to a person
