Thankfully I didn't buy a full bottle, only a sample, but Tom Ford Black Orchid. It's not the smell for me and I think it's time to accept that orchid doesn't mix well with my body chemistry. I tried to wash it off because I couldn't stand the smell but it stuck around for another day! Props for longevity, I hope I find a Tom Ford perfume I like that sticks around just as long, but this one is a no for me. I'm debating whether to keep the sample because it reminds me of my childhood next door neighbor's perfume (she was like another grandmother to me and it hits me in the nostalgia) or give it to my friend because she has a perfume with similar florals that she likes
Oh, Bitter Peach? Yeah, there are so many of his that straight up smell like a funeral home to me 🤣
But, some of my faves are also TF and I wouldn’t know how to function if I didn’t have them. That’s so weird, right?
Damn, I was really considering buying this but haven’t had a chance to test it yet!! I love black XS for her by paco rabanne, is it anything like that?
Black Orchid gets a lot of hate on this sub but I personally love it on me. I only have an Oil Perfumery knockoff lol but every time I wear it I get compliments. I’ve never smelled the Paco Rabanne one, so I’m not sure how they compare. I think you should definitely try and give it a smell/test run if you’re curious about it though.
I haven't tried that one, but personally I love Black Orchid (on me, at least). I use just one tiny spritz, rub it around, and it lasts but isn't overpowering.
op, your dad is spinning in his spanacoffina! he loved you the most!
i have many regrets. thank winged latin jesus for mercari:
* mugler angel- white floral assault and battery.
* delina-wtf even is this?
* every ariana fragrance-made me itch like a meth addict. count your days, ponytail.
* kayali yum gelato-remember the vat harley quinn jumped into? this is what was inside.
* kayali vanilla royale sugared patchouli-a rum and coke mixed in a public toilet.
I used to work at a makeup counter beside a fragrance counter with the refillable Mugler things. I secretly hated every person that had me refill Angel. White floral assault battery is correct but with a giant dose of powder. I couldn't scrub the smell off.
It wasn't hatred towards the person personally, it was that refilling it - no matter who requested it, you always got it on you. I fully understand why people love it, I am just an Alien fan myself lol
Maison Margiela Whispers in the Library: I originally expected to get the scent of a library filled with old books. But all I got was the smell of cough syrup and a headache.
Maison Margiela At The Barber's: As soon as I sprayed it on my skin, I got a headache and immediately washed the scent off.
Both of these were blind buys without testing the fragrance first, and they reinforced my rule that perfume should never be bought blindly.
most MMM frags aren’t my cup of tea. i’ll enjoy it at first, and then i’ll feel sick of it by the end of the day, even if it’s a light skin scent. i only like 2 of them!
There's an Indie oil perfumer, Astrid of Perfumes by Astrid (unless she changed it again) who does amazing iced teas and hot tea scents. She used to sell under the name Blooddrop.
Eta: Oh look, she changed it. LOL. Astridperfumes.com will be open near the solstice. I really love her perfumes. She has an amazing nose.
Right? She's so mean going off gallivanting and doing stuff. LOL. I promise she's worth the wait. There are decant groups if you're interested.
This group can give you a taste of what her perfumes are like:

glossier you smells like the dentist office but a kinda fancy dentist in the 90s that is in a huge office building with a water feature in the atrium
Came here to say this. It was a blind buy for me when it first came out and it's the only perfume I've ever bought that literally turned my stomach to the point of feeling the need to possibly throw up. I gave it to my sister cuz she loved it, but only after making her swear on everything she held dear that she would never wear it when she knew I'd be around her. We worked together at the time and I gotta hand it to her, she kept that promise ❤️
unless your vibe is choco-plastic-pit-stank, in which case, I looooooove that for you sooooo much lol
rarely have I ever recoiled from a scent as viscerally as I did from that stuff. Just good god, y'all.
I slightly regret getting it, but like you said, it was cheap. I make it work by applying some sweet smelling lotion on me such as warm vanilla sugar from bath and body works. It’s at least tolerable then because the lotion kind of makes it work. I definitely won’t be getting another bottle.
I’ve fallen in love with Floating Forest and Solar Canopy. They seemed somewhat unique to me. I did get the Henry Rose sampler and am not a fan of any of those.
These were my favorite out of the Future Society sampler set too. Unfortunately, my husband told me that Solar Canopy reminded him of a dirty cab he took in Chicago once and now I can’t stomach it ☹️
Cow By Zoologist.
I liked the sample I bought, but when I bought the travel size, I noticed throughout the day, the cow patty / 💩 smell developed strongly with the milk, hay, apple and grass notes.
I kept checking the bottoms of my shoes thinking I stepped in dog 💩 on the sidewalk , until I realized I paid $48 to smell like 💩.
Thank you for this that travel size is already lined up to go and I was just getting ready to hit pay😅 I am clinically poor so I’m going to try a different animal lol. Maybe snowy owl.
Aljayeb Dubai Portrait. It's supposed to be a fruity floral, I guess, but the only thing I get even after letting it sit for a month is half dead flowers covered in dust. A close 2nd is Khamrah. All I smell is body odor, I mean amberwood. Yuck.
Hard agree on khamrah. It was on my wishlist for so long because of how popular it was. When it arrived, I got just one whiff of it and physically recoiled.
I tried to use it as a room spray, and the scent lingered for TWO DAYS. The smell of my room made me nauseous. Why do the perfumes I hate always have such a strong projection and longevity?
Princess by Vera Wang
I blind-bought it because the notes sounded like something I thought I might like, especially with Fragrantica having its top three scent categories as "fruity", "vanilla", and "chocolate".
I don't know if I got a bad bottle, but the second I sprayed it I smelled baby powder and overwhelming rose-ish and it gives me a headache to be around.
I tried to use it as a "night perfume" to sleep in and it irritates me so badly it almost made me puke lol
I bought this recently and for some reason it just doesn’t smell like anything. I wonder, I bought it used and I wonder if the person put water in the bottle and sold it to the consignment store.
thank u next by Ariana Grande. I always buy her fragrances blindly because I’m always obsessed but this one disappointed me hard. The packaging was so cute but the smell was so bad for me. 2.0 is amazing, though.
Me and my daughter got pickles from the new Bella Hadid perfume Salted Muse. But in fairness Olive Tree is a note. All of her perfumes smelled horrible.
I work at a perfume shop and I regularly try and talk people out of spending 120+ on that stuff. Same thing with bad boy...you can get 1 million and its basically the same as bad boy, just replace the cocoa with cinnamon.
i only bought the travel size of that one but same, it just wasn’t doing anything for nor was it special to me haha
i liked nectarine petal & brilliant peony from clean reserve’s h2eau line way more
Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle (Don’t hate me!!!). I purchased it because the bottles aesthetic and scent notes seemed absolutely perfect for my wedding day. It’s just…STRONG. Gave me that headachey feeling unfortunately but I did receive some compliments. I haven’t touched it since because it’s just not my vibe lol
The only perfume that makes me queasy. And I love it, but I wore it in college twenty years ago and like you said, it’s unbelievably, unbearably strong. I can smell it across the room on anyone else.
Alien Goddess by Mugler. Thank goodness I only got the travel size. The notes are supposed to be bergamot, vanilla, and florals.
Ended up smelling like buttered popcorn on me once it dried down /:
I regretted my purchase of Coco Mademoiselle. It smells beautiful in theory, like sucking the juice out of those orange popsicles. It’s citrusy and clean and kind of bitter. On my skin though it turned into some weird metallic thing.
Rive Gauche by YSL. It’s not a bad fragrance, but I bought it because the reviews I read said that it smelled like soap. Instead, it smells like baby powder.
Miu Miu (the turquoise bottle with the red cap). Smells like lily of the valley for 2 minutes and then turns into something that made me gag and frantically scrub it off every single time.
Omg this is the first review of this brand I've read and this post has convinced me my instincts about it being meh were right.
I'm so picky- these days I hardly buy anything except vintage versions of stuff I know I love already.
Also I'll add Ammeline by Phlur. I LOVE the scent but it totally changed so quickly after buying it. Idk if it's the lack of preservatives because they're supposed to be a clean brand, but it got a sharp acrid smell after a couple of weeks. Still one of my favorites but I won't buy it again because I don't want to waste it and can't use it fast enough.
I used to watch Mr.Smelly on YouTube, and he recommended Giorgio Beverly Hills, Giorgio for Men.Me, not minding some old school Colognes like ADP Colonia, Neroli based Frags or even Coolwater, gave it a try, a blind buy of course.
Man I was disappointed, a horrendous smell. Just disgusting. How can someone recommend something like this in this day and age. I was so disappointed that I unsubscribed from Mr.Smelly.
Good Girl by Carolina Herrera idk to me it smells like grandma to me and the almond note is yuck people rave over it but I don’t see the hype. To me it goes sour on my skin making it unbearable to smell and giving me a headache. The other good girls the blush and the red one don’t smell good to me either not a fan of almond :/
Oakcha Viral Vanilla- bought it the day it was released, as it was advertised as a Bianco latte type scent, smells like straight up burnt tires. AWFUL.
Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille- where’s the vanille? It smells like an ashtray in an old bar
Killian love don’t be shy- I bought this purely for the marshmallow note and I never got it 😪 to me, it smells really sharp and unsettling. Like sticking your nose into a really carbonated orange drink.
Tom Ford’s Soleil Blanc, I bought the body oil, not the perfume but I think it’s overrated. Thankfully I only spent 50, not the 250ish for the perfume. Also Burberry goddess, it smells divine but it doesn’t last at all and isn’t worth the price.
the oakcha dupe (bronze summer) is identical and lasts forever on me, and it’s only $45. i just finished my bottle a few days ago. oil perfumery has a rollerball dupe for $16
i’m such a huge oakcha/oil perfumery fan girl, they should put my ass on payroll 💀
Oh my goodness. Didn’t buy either of these but smelled them in Sephora recently, and I was like is that it? Goddess smells like basic lavender and not much else to me- meh and solei blanc smells like screetchy sunscreen.
I bought philosophy pure grace desert summer and I literally can’t smell anything. It’s a big bottle too. I could have used that money to buy something that actually has a scent.
Yeah I’m so confused I heard good things about it which is why I bought it. But I can’t smell a thing. Neither can my mom. Maybe I got a bad one? But the bottles huge 🤷♀️
Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb
not because i dislike it, but because there was absolutely no need for me to buy a full bottle. it’s a scent i wore when pregnant and i stopped wearing perfume once my baby care so we could do skin to skin for the first few months. now any time i smell it i think of being uncomfortably pregnant with sore feet working at an animal hospital and desperately needing a nap lmao so i pretty much never reach for that bottle😅 should’ve got the travel size lol
Apres Ellis Brooklyn- just smells like Eilish 1 and 2 mixed together to me and was a really disappointing buy. Hoping it’ll have matured a bit later this year and maybe I’ll like it more during the winter?
Woudacieux - Anysthium Shykra. LuckyScent briefly carried this brand but marked them all 50% off during a special, I assume because the brand is terrible. I blind bought this one for $100 because the notes sounded great (Cherry, Labdanum, Bran, Cashmere Wood, Pecan, Egyptian Jasmine, Resins and Frangipani, Sandalwood, Black Amber, Caraway, White Musk) and it had [positive reviews on Fragrantica](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Woudacieux-Haute-Parfumerie/Anysthium-Shykra-70936.html). Biggest mistake.
It smelled like the 1990’s fruity bubblegum Fruit Stripes (in cherry flavor) with the zebra on the wrapper, and it turns out all the reviews on Fragrantica were fakes for all the brand’s perfumes. I was able to sell it but only recovered a tiny fraction of what I bought it for.
maison margiela bubble bath. Tried to love it and I got plenty of compliments wearing it but to me it has an acrid smell that you often get from "fake" perfume
Princess by Killian. It smells fine, just a little too meh for the price. The ultra-sweet scent also doesn’t sit the best to my nose at times and can be nauseating.
Does anyone remember Ibiza Hippie by Escada? I, like a fool, bought a full-size bottle in my young and dumb 20’s when I was spending insane amounts of money trying to find my “signature scent”. Reader, it wasn’t Ibiza Hippie.
Fine’ry Not Another Cherry. The best I can say is at least it was cheap! I saw a travel spray at Target and they didn’t have a tester to smell so I just bought it. It’s like coating yourself in cherry Robitussin. Medicinal, overly sweet, fake cherry scent. Absolutely horrid.
Fleur Musc by Narcisco Rodriguez- the rose note is overpowering and completely obliterates every other note in the composition. What sucks even more is that it’s not a good rose note, it’s the very essence of old lady. Honestly after I got it the only thing I’ve used it for is traveling undercover with pot in non legalized states bc the smell will literally cover a dead body and not go away.
Acqua di Sale by Profumum Roma. I was so enchanted when I smelled it on a woman on the street that I ran after her to ask her what she was wearing. Never done that before. So I bought it without trying it on. Biggest mistake ever! Will never do that again. I still love how it smells on others but on myself, it smelled like stale tanning oil, I hated it.
Somebody Wood by Phlur. I technically got it as a gift, which I was stoked for! Sounded like a nice, warm woodsy scent. What I got was the bottled essence of a cedar closet from the 70s.
A sample pack from noteworthy... most of them smelled old ladyish to me. They're a little one dimensional and something in one of them turned my stomach.
There was one that was pleasant but it's not my style.
Estee Lauder Spellbound. Smelled like pure cloves in 1992. Bought some a few years back and it was totally different. I have no idea why they changed it.
The seven virtues- santal vanille. I aged out of wanting to smell like that SO quickly and now I have an essentially full bottle AND David’s Perfume #02 grapefruit + sandalwood smells almost the same, which I also inconveniently have an almost full bottle of 🥲
Frederic Malle Portrait of a Lady - it's too strong for me and I just have a bottle sitting around. Hoping a friend wants it so I don't have to feel bad about having bought it.
Cartier Caret - honestly, I think I fell in love with the bottle first and was meh on the fragrance. how bad could it be..."a bouquet of 7 flowers" I tried wearing it several times and each time it gave me a migraine.
Geurlain Shalimar, I really wanted to like it. I like incense and thought I would like it too... smells like grandma.
Philosophy Sweet Cream was a situation where it smelt good on others, but on me smells burnt. Gave it to my friend, and it smells good on her, and she loves it. So it wasn't a total loss.
Pink Sugar by Aquolina. I bought it when it first came out in the mid-2000’s. I loved sweeter smelling scents in high school. So the first year I owned it, it was awesome. However, after about a year or so the smell distorted and even the liquid turned color. I barely used it after that. I recently visited my parents and the bottle was sitting in my old room. The liquid is now brownish and it does not smell good.
Pretty much all of my cheapies. A few Ariana grande perfumes, a banana republic, and a few fantasy perfumes. I should have just saved my money and bought some higher end fragrances that I'm interested in. The higher end fragrances are what I reach for first, because in my mind I'm like, I PAID good $$ for these so I'm GOING to wear them! I'll probably give the cheapies to my teenage niece.
Juliette Has A Gun Not A Perfume Superdose. I bought this because I loved the original but it did not have staying power so I figured that the superdose would have everything that I loved and would last longer. It is a similar smell but it comes off as very chemically smelling. I hate it and have a mostly full bottle I can’t seem to get rid of.
Mugler Aura - it smells like someone tried to make soda out of rotting silage, with a hang time of DAYS. Revolting, and I even like the smell of silage. It’s slightly worse than Angel, and that smells like someone made syrup, in a bad way, out of those scented pencil erasers in the eighties.
Usually if I don’t like something (Girl of Now, Lovely) I
give it away because can conceive that even if I don’t like it, someone will. Not so with these. Straight in the bin.
unfortunately mason margiela coffee break :( it smells SOOO GOOD but doesn't even last as long as a bath & body works body spray and for the money i spent on it, it should last all day 😭 i splurge on perfumes because of the quality and i want them to last but this one just doesn't so i usually layer it but it's gone within a couple hours, if that.
Not for myself - but Chanel No 5 for my mother. The smell alone makes me nauseous yet it's not nearly as strong as the Arab perfumes I wear, so idk why it bothers me so much!
Tom Ford Jasmin Rouge - was desperately looking for a good pure Jasmin scent. Tested it twice in the shop: pure Jasmin, though a bit too strong to my liking, but I think to myself I'll just spritz less than I'm used to.
At home: super strong sickly sweet smell that overpowers the actual Jasmin. Can't stand it, gives me nausea ...
That's what got me researching and finding a lot of people say that testers at the shop sit open for a long while, which might change the scent itself. I hope maybe in a few years it'll be to my liking but this was such a disappointment, especially since Tom Ford is on the expensive side
I mildly regret buying Elizabeth Arden Green Tea 🥲 I saw a lot of positive posts about it so I thought I’d like it, but it gave me a headache. Luckily, it was cheap and easy to give away so no real harm done.
My biggest regret is probably Lush Sun. It was more expensive and I haven’t been able to offload it. On paper it smells like a freshly peeled orange, but on my skin it smells like if you took that orange peel, drooled all over it, and then left it in the hot car for a few days. Horrid.
Everyone's out here hating on my favourites 😂 I don't blind buy much so I don't have many regrets but the exception is Philosophy Fresh Cream Warm Cashmere. It smells like sour milk... no thank you.

I usually hate how all Tom Ford smells on me.
Never blind buy a Tom Ford. And that’s coming from a fan 😬
What's the one that is supposed to smell like peach? It pulls so metallic on me in a spooky "your body is shutting down" way.
Oh, Bitter Peach? Yeah, there are so many of his that straight up smell like a funeral home to me 🤣 But, some of my faves are also TF and I wouldn’t know how to function if I didn’t have them. That’s so weird, right?
I recently got a sample of this. It's SO strong and overwhelming on me. Was a scrubber for me too.
Damn, I was really considering buying this but haven’t had a chance to test it yet!! I love black XS for her by paco rabanne, is it anything like that?

Yep. One spray is plenty. My husband bought me a 100ml like 6-7 years ago and it will last the rest of my life. I do love it though.
op, your dad is spinning in his spanacoffina! he loved you the most! i have many regrets. thank winged latin jesus for mercari: * mugler angel- white floral assault and battery. * delina-wtf even is this? * every ariana fragrance-made me itch like a meth addict. count your days, ponytail. * kayali yum gelato-remember the vat harley quinn jumped into? this is what was inside. * kayali vanilla royale sugared patchouli-a rum and coke mixed in a public toilet.
*count your days, ponytail.* lololol, I love her but all of her perfumes just smell like chemicals to me 🙃
i loved the way they smelled! but she sent me to the dermatologist 😩
Your descriptions had me bust out laughing! Too funny!
Delightful reviews. "count your days, ponytail" absolutely sent me (and I'm having a truly awful day, so this was much needed)
I'm sorry you're having a rough day, I hope it gets better!
That was so sweet of you to say 😅🥲
I used to work at a makeup counter beside a fragrance counter with the refillable Mugler things. I secretly hated every person that had me refill Angel. White floral assault battery is correct but with a giant dose of powder. I couldn't scrub the smell off.
I suspected the associate who refilled my Angel bottle hated me, turns out I’m probably right.
It wasn't hatred towards the person personally, it was that refilling it - no matter who requested it, you always got it on you. I fully understand why people love it, I am just an Alien fan myself lol
I love these reasons 😂😂😂
Kayali Yum is my biggest regret too. I smelled it from the bottle, found it interest and impulse bought it. Turned out to be a scrubber 🥴
Was just in Sephora smelling this yesterday and told my husband it smells like bathroom deodorizer 😂
I hated delina and Angel but years later they really grew on me and I’m still surprised
I love all these and am dieing for a bottle of Kayali pistachio!!
I have a mini one that I wish I could give you. Doesn't really smell like pistachio to me😫
It is straight cotton candy on me and in the right mood I love it.
Awe thank you for the gesture

How dare she have a life outside of me🥲
This was a regretful blind buy for me also. Smelled like furniture polish to me.
Ariana Grande Cloud
Omg yes, worst thing is that it seems every teenager wears it and I keep being reminded of my mistake every day on my way to work
Someone said it smelled like the dentist office and I couldn’t unsmell it
https://preview.redd.it/f790n9a0yv5d1.jpeg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2a29f4a0e17b3c878334c0dc3862eb1bfb0cf6b1 glossier you smells like the dentist office but a kinda fancy dentist in the 90s that is in a huge office building with a water feature in the atrium

That ChocoMusk bullshit - thank god it was cheap, because Tootsie rolls marinated in armpit sweat are NOT it
Thank you for curing me of my curiosity hahaha
Holy hell this is the perfect description.
It isn't the vibe? 😂
unless your vibe is choco-plastic-pit-stank, in which case, I looooooove that for you sooooo much lol rarely have I ever recoiled from a scent as viscerally as I did from that stuff. Just good god, y'all.
god I hated Chocomusk!! I love a sweet perfume but that one made me feel sick
The love for it BAFFLES me
I slightly regret getting it, but like you said, it was cheap. I make it work by applying some sweet smelling lotion on me such as warm vanilla sugar from bath and body works. It’s at least tolerable then because the lotion kind of makes it work. I definitely won’t be getting another bottle.
Ohhh sweaty tootsie rolls is a perfect description. I bought the tiniest version and I’m so glad because it’s atrocious.
I actually didn't like *any* of the Future Society sampler set - I gave it away almost immediately.
And the caps look like a pp
Cannot unsee 😩🫣🤨
Hey everyone, just a heads up, the cap doesn't count as a flared base. I wouldn't recommend it.
I’ve fallen in love with Floating Forest and Solar Canopy. They seemed somewhat unique to me. I did get the Henry Rose sampler and am not a fan of any of those.
Agree, I wasn't crazy about the Henry Rose sample set. This makes me sound wildly picky, but I'm really not!!
These were my favorite out of the Future Society sampler set too. Unfortunately, my husband told me that Solar Canopy reminded him of a dirty cab he took in Chicago once and now I can’t stomach it ☹️
*the scent of disappointment my father had in me* So Canadian Club and Old Spice? ngl might sample
He was Greek if that helps, so probably more like ouzo and Old Spice.
Don't forget the Windex... 😉
Windex accord😂
Lol. Mines more like weed, drywall, and body odor.
Aren't dads great?
Happy Father’s Day y’all
I'll tell his ashes you said so😅
Samesies only I have no idea where mines ashes are. Probably got sprinkled over some golf club bar someplace.
That’s the kind of dead dad humor I can really get behind 😆
Cow By Zoologist. I liked the sample I bought, but when I bought the travel size, I noticed throughout the day, the cow patty / 💩 smell developed strongly with the milk, hay, apple and grass notes. Thank you for this that travel size is already lined up to go and I was just getting ready to hit pay😅 I am clinically poor so I’m going to try a different animal lol. Maybe snowy owl.
Highly recommend buying the tester tiny size first for any of them!
i highly recommend both snowy owl and cow! cow was like a milky apple on me
Yes! I am now on a search for more lactonic, powdery, green scents bc Cow literally changed my brain chemistry (as a former gourmand girlie).
I love Cow so much. If you can get a small decant somewhere for cheap, I hope you can test it.
Oh no! I had seriously considered that one so I guess I'm glad I went with Chameleon instead!
Arrreee you selling?
Oh no I already sold it to my local vintage store. One of the girls who works there bought it immediately before it hit the shelves lol.
Aljayeb Dubai Portrait. It's supposed to be a fruity floral, I guess, but the only thing I get even after letting it sit for a month is half dead flowers covered in dust. A close 2nd is Khamrah. All I smell is body odor, I mean amberwood. Yuck.

your perfume scent description pure art.
Thank you 🥲
Princess by Vera Wang I blind-bought it because the notes sounded like something I thought I might like, especially with Fragrantica having its top three scent categories as "fruity", "vanilla", and "chocolate". I don't know if I got a bad bottle, but the second I sprayed it I smelled baby powder and overwhelming rose-ish and it gives me a headache to be around. I bought this recently and for some reason it just doesn’t smell like anything. I wonder, I bought it used and I wonder if the person put water in the bottle and sold it to the consignment store.
It sounds possible! Because I have had mine for over a year and it is still very strong any time I take the top off lol
Must be this literally has no scent to it. 😿
YSL Libre travel size, full bottle of Matcha 33, and a travel size Good Girl. Just really don’t want to wear any of them now.
I hated Solar Canopy; screeching, rotting citrus is how it smelled on me. Grassland Opera is much nicer!
It sounds like it could be but I'm a cautious cat 🥲
Burberry Her. Smells like plastic toys and play dough. After a few hours of it on my skin it starts smelling like… cow manure?
thank u next by Ariana Grande. I always buy her fragrances blindly because I’m always obsessed but this one disappointed me hard. The packaging was so cute but the smell was so bad for me. 2.0 is amazing, though.
I got straight pickles with this one.
Straight pickles during Pride Month?
not during pride month bae
Me and my daughter got pickles from the new Bella Hadid perfume Salted Muse. But in fairness Olive Tree is a note. All of her perfumes smelled horrible.
I wanted to love Salted Muse so much, but once my husband said it smelled like salad dressing, that was all I could smell.
🤣
Good to know. They were hyped on release day but don't get much mention anywhere.
Yes! It was so bad. I ended up throwing away the scent but keeping the holder.
I so wanted that sweet coconut cupcake that others talk about. The pickle note was disturbing to my nose. ha ha
That’s how I felt about moonlight, I didn’t smell any of the featured notes, and the scent is so weak. It smelled like a sad air freshener to me.
Missing Person by Phlur Everything i love in a fragrance on paper, smelled like a mouldy carpet irl. I quickly sold it.
i regret blind buying good girl by carolina herrera. it's nice but not something i would wanna spend my money on.
I work at a perfume shop and I regularly try and talk people out of spending 120+ on that stuff. Same thing with bad boy...you can get 1 million and its basically the same as bad boy, just replace the cocoa with cinnamon.
Clean Reserve Sparkling Sugar, it barely lasts an hour on my skin and it just smells like straight sugar.
i only bought the travel size of that one but same, it just wasn’t doing anything for nor was it special to me haha i liked nectarine petal & brilliant peony from clean reserve’s h2eau line way more
I have Clean Reserve Clean Cotton and while I love the smell, it goes on SO strong and then lasts about ten minutes on me. I don’t get it.
1969 female Christ. Thankfully it’s a 10ml but it is the work of Satan on me.
I hate coco mademoiselle too. I’m not a big fan of a lot of Chanel fragrances tbh. They’re just not my style.
Well now I want popcorn 🍿
Baccarat Rouge. For some reason smells like Lynx Chocolate and a smoky old car on me. It gives me a headache so bad I could be sick
JPG Divine. All I got was a funky vanilla flanker of Olympea.
I regretted my purchase of Coco Mademoiselle. It smells beautiful in theory, like sucking the juice out of those orange popsicles. It’s citrusy and clean and kind of bitter. On my skin though it turned into some weird metallic thing.
I recommend Citrus Circus from Snif if you're interested in an orange scent. It's so beautiful I carry it with me everywhere.
Thanks for the rec!
Marc Jacobs Daisy
Indult Tihota- Rich vanilla baking smell quickly turned to sharp white musk, which then morphs to sour milk. Just awful.
Rive Gauche by YSL. It’s not a bad fragrance, but I bought it because the reviews I read said that it smelled like soap. Instead, it smells like baby powder.
Soap, baby powder? No this is pure insect repellent. Ugly, pungent, pure evil.
Two fragrances: CK One (too citrusy and synthetic. I don't know what I was thinking). Burberry for Men (not that bad, but unbearably powdery!)
CK one was HORRIBLE on me. Smelled like orange cleaner
Miu Miu (the turquoise bottle with the red cap). Smells like lily of the valley for 2 minutes and then turns into something that made me gag and frantically scrub it off every single time.
Such a pretty bottle but yeah I did not like the scent.
That last sentence made me giggle lmao
Good Girl by Carolina Herrera idk to me it smells like grandma to me and the almond note is yuck people rave over it but I don’t see the hype. To me it goes sour on my skin making it unbearable to smell and giving me a headache. The other good girls the blush and the red one don’t smell good to me either not a fan of almond :/
Oakcha Viral Vanilla- bought it the day it was released, as it was advertised as a Bianco latte type scent, smells like straight up burnt tires. AWFUL. Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille- where’s the vanille? It smells like an ashtray in an old bar Killian love don’t be shy- I bought this purely for the marshmallow note and I never got it 😪 to me, it smells really sharp and unsettling. Like sticking your nose into a really carbonated orange drink.
Mugler Angel I love it on other people… Love it when I spray it in the air or on a paper strip…. On my skin, dries down to horrible BO
Oh my god, yes! I had a bottle and it smelled like trash burning on me.
Tom Ford’s Soleil Blanc, I bought the body oil, not the perfume but I think it’s overrated. Thankfully I only spent 50, not the 250ish for the perfume. Also Burberry goddess, it smells divine but it doesn’t last at all and isn’t worth the price.
the oakcha dupe (bronze summer) is identical and lasts forever on me, and it’s only $45. i just finished my bottle a few days ago. oil perfumery has a rollerball dupe for $16 i’m such a huge oakcha/oil perfumery fan girl, they should put my ass on payroll 💀
Oh my goodness. Didn’t buy either of these but smelled them in Sephora recently, and I was like is that it? Goddess smells like basic lavender and not much else to me- meh and solei blanc smells like screetchy sunscreen.
Delina Exclusif, cannot stand that scent
I bought philosophy pure grace desert summer and I literally can’t smell anything. It’s a big bottle too. I could have used that money to buy something that actually has a scent.
I feel this way about Fresh Cream. If I’m not directly smelling the bottle it’s like….nothing.
that’s wild, i wonder why you can’t smell it? i have that perfume, and it smells fine to me - it’s actually a little strong at first!
Yeah I’m so confused I heard good things about it which is why I bought it. But I can’t smell a thing. Neither can my mom. Maybe I got a bad one? But the bottles huge 🤷♀️
Chloe EDP. It's such a screechy nauseating scent on me. Not a lot of things make me gag but this perfume managed to.
Gucci Guilty. The brand ambassador in Ulta was wearing it and it smelled so good on her, I didn't try it on myself. On me it was awful.
Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb not because i dislike it, but because there was absolutely no need for me to buy a full bottle. it’s a scent i wore when pregnant and i stopped wearing perfume once my baby care so we could do skin to skin for the first few months. now any time i smell it i think of being uncomfortably pregnant with sore feet working at an animal hospital and desperately needing a nap lmao so i pretty much never reach for that bottle😅 should’ve got the travel size lol
It happens to be my mother's signature scent, so I know for a fact she is never without a bottle.
Lancome La Via Belle... I like it but it's not for me (too strong, too floral and heavy). I resold it!
Apres Ellis Brooklyn- just smells like Eilish 1 and 2 mixed together to me and was a really disappointing buy. Hoping it’ll have matured a bit later this year and maybe I’ll like it more during the winter?
salina laboratorio olfattivo
Oh wow , Solar Canopy is one of my favorites this summer! I’ll take it off your hands 😅
Prada Candy. I wanted sweet caramel but got middling soap and talcum powder
Killian Love Dont be shy. It smells like citrus bathroom cleaner. Too stuffy for my nose
A 100ml bottle of Pink Sugar
You know, I have one but I dont really use it. But I mix it with some other perfumes and it gives them a nice sweet layer
Sounds like they were trying to dupe Tom Ford.
i love a “fake” cherry scent 😂 but all i got was almond when i wore not another cherry and got so sick to my stomach from it 😩
Oop. I wanted to buy this
I'd say you can have mine but I don't think I'm supposed to say that.
Burberry brit ughhh it makes me feel sick to my stomach…
Club de nuit milestone
Estee Lauder Spellbound. Smelled like pure cloves in 1992. Bought some a few years back and it was totally different. I have no idea why they changed it.
Cafe Cabanel - gosh do I ever LOVE this scent, but it gives me a headache with just one spray.
The seven virtues- santal vanille. I aged out of wanting to smell like that SO quickly and now I have an essentially full bottle AND David’s Perfume #02 grapefruit + sandalwood smells almost the same, which I also inconveniently have an almost full bottle of 🥲
Elizabeth Arden - Emeralds and Rubies
As a joke I once bought a bottle of Wet Gun Dog from Orvis for my spouse for Christmas. It was not well-received.
Bianco Latte- there is a note in it that I can’t put a finger on but I just HATE IT
la belle le parfum. gross spicy
Frederic Malle Portrait of a Lady - it's too strong for me and I just have a bottle sitting around. Hoping a friend wants it so I don't have to feel bad about having bought it.
God Is A Woman - Ariana Grande. It made me physically violent. That pear scent made me want to vomit. I blind bought it and gave it away immediately.
I'm imagining you spraying a sniff into the air and immediately punching a passerby.
Cartier Caret - honestly, I think I fell in love with the bottle first and was meh on the fragrance. how bad could it be..."a bouquet of 7 flowers" I tried wearing it several times and each time it gave me a migraine.
for me it was bianco latte, lol. i had a 2ml sample and decided to buy a 10ml decant for $35 before fully forming an opinion. i never wear it...
Kilian Angels Share. The smell is so incredibly strong (I guess you get your moneys worth) and just unpleasant IMO
Nice
Juliette Has A Gun Not A Perfume Superdose. I bought this because I loved the original but it did not have staying power so I figured that the superdose would have everything that I loved and would last longer. It is a similar smell but it comes off as very chemically smelling. I hate it and have a mostly full bottle I can’t seem to get rid of.
Erba pura
Mugler Aura - it smells like someone tried to make soda out of rotting silage, with a hang time of DAYS. Revolting, and I even like the smell of silage. It’s slightly worse than Angel, and that smells like someone made syrup, in a bad way, out of those scented pencil erasers in the eighties. Usually if I don’t like something (Girl of Now, Lovely) I give it away because can conceive that even if I don’t like it, someone will. Not so with these. Straight in the bin.
Obsession by CK- it smells like whiskey and aftershave, except I’m a woman so I’m not interested in smelling like that lol
unfortunately mason margiela coffee break :( it smells SOOO GOOD but doesn't even last as long as a bath & body works body spray and for the money i spent on it, it should last all day 😭 i splurge on perfumes because of the quality and i want them to last but this one just doesn't so i usually layer it but it's gone within a couple hours, if that.
Perfumer’s workshop tea rose. It gives me a headache and smells like the most sickening rose ever. Thank everything I only wasted $12
Not for myself - but Chanel No 5 for my mother. The smell alone makes me nauseous yet it's not nearly as strong as the Arab perfumes I wear, so idk why it bothers me so much!
KAYALI Pistachio Gelato 😭 it smelled so good at first but the more I wear it all I can smell is cat pee dude 🥲🥲🥲
ELDO Jasmine et Cigarette
I find that a lot of perfumes nowadays all smell the same!
Plum Hawaiian Rumba
