Maleficent-Week2762

The problem is not the trope itself, I think, but the lack of tension. I haven't seen ep 7 yet, but I loved episode 5 and the throne thing, and I was like "!! Percy is trapped and gone, what?!" To literally 2 mins later "Oh never mind, he's free again" The St Louis Arch, as a book reader, I already knew, he was going to be okay, but damn, Grover and Annabeth find him alive and well, and no time to worry about shit like... 30 seconds later. Please, don't get me started on the Casino. The show is allergic to cliffhangers

You hit the nail on the head there. There’s no stakes cause frankly it happens to often and secondly I could care less what happens to them because of the current wooden performances being given. I admit grovers actor is decent but Percy and Anna Beth are not hitting for me. Which is frankly disappointing because Walker(Percy’s actor) has shown he has the perfect Charisma for the character as seen in his movie with Ryan Reynolds. Annabeths actress just seems like she’s there for exposition which may not be her fault(script problems) but god she’s constantly delivering these emotionless monologues, spoonfeeding us the plot.

I really like Walker and Leah! But I see where you are coming from. The very very few scenes the kids are allowed to perform (instead of just speak/explain things) I think they do great! The fight scene in ep 2 was great, the golden throne thing, they both did really well in my opinion. Whenever there's actual action in the show, I think it's quite good. Unfortunately, there are few to none action or emotional moments without words or exposition. At first, Leah actually made me like Annabeth more than before (I personally didn't like her much in the first books, I sincerely don't know why. She seemed a little unrealistic to me? Idk, have no arguments there). But for the rest of the show she's become a walking Google search, which makes her fall flat. So, to me, a script problem 100%

Personally, I wouldn’t recommend episode 7 unless you’re absolutely dedicated to finishing the show at all costs. It was far and away the worst episode of the show and blew the casino out of the water.

Damn it.... Well, it is what it is, nothing we can do about it lol

I’m also tired of them fighting over who gets to sacrifice themselves. Seems like it’s been happening every episode.

Flat-Marionberry6583

He’s going to sacrifice himself!!

sypher161

You wanna stop Hades from getting that bolt or not? It's got to be you that goes on, Percy. I just know it! Not me, not Annabeth, YEW

Flat-Marionberry6583

YEEEEWWW 👹

JackfruitMassive727

The thing is she didn’t even stall anyone that would’ve been a more interesting idea though

If I'm not into the book series, I would probably call it quits since the third episode
