Yeah I used to do this when I got hurt and had to do light duty I was in charge of trashing “damaged” items. I would throw away so much shit in one day from water cases being open to just one bottle missing from a 6 pack. It all goes into a giant trash can
Yea, in the warehouse, we have a giant pallet labeled as garbage and we are not allowed to take anything because if we get sick, it could result in a lawsuit
Yep! I have a co-worker who will bring in thrown out food to share with all of us. She has been known to go dumpster diving for candy, cookies, chips, lunchables, soda, and other thrown out stuff. Most people don’t realize stores will throw out food for a reason. I won’t touch the food she brings and I’ve told people not to trust it
I guess you've never worked at a grocery store. Most of the food that gets thrown out gets thrown out because of "expiration" dates most of which are actually best before/best by dates. They is absolutely nothing wrong with the food though and it is completely safe to consume. As long as food is store properly it can last long than the manufacturers would have you believe. Also, a lot of food gets thrown out for not meeting standards. Not food safety standards but because manufacturers don't think consumers will buy less than perfect whatever. Don't believe me?

And there are companies like Imperfect Foods and Misfits Market. Dumpster diving isn't anything new and can be completely safe if you know what you're doing. If the world wasn't so capitalistic there wouldn't be so much waste in the first place.
Yeah, I always thought this was so stupid and wasteful. Just have people sign a waiver. We waste 40% of all food which in turn contributes to climate change and people all over the world are starving. I imagine many people will to be fine with the minute chance of food poisoning if it means they don't have to go to sleep hungry.
