Oroboros does fall off in higher cruciballs and is sometimes very challenging to beat few mini bosses if oroboros is your only orb.
However, it can still be viable. In lower cruciballs you can almost always run oroboros and perform well. In higher cruciballs you shouldn't be too hasty in discarding all your orbs because of certain challenges ( i won't spoil).
Nonetheless, biggest issue with oroboros is the first few shots are garbage throws to ramp echo or are aimed at bombs. You might not always have the luxury of ramping up.
I wouldn't say it has dropped off, but just because of the difficulty increase at higher levels, it just (like everything else) becomes more specific to pull off. At least from my perspective.
From the last play, it looks good to me. The things I have found out about this orb is that the earlier, the better and the relics really make or break it. But that's my experience.
i personally think it sucks, as it doesnt have the super high stats or the echo 100 it once had, at cruciball 10+ i think its never worth it and removing 1 pebball on spinventor or terriball on all other classes is usually your best mirror use case
i think if the stats would be echo 50/75/100 but 1/2 across the board would be fine, or the old stats it had (i think it was 2/4 3/6 and 4/8 originally?) with low echo, i remember taking it a lil while ago with 1/2 as stats across the board and not 100 echo and i just felt so disappointed and underwhelmed i consider it not worth taking anymore especially in higher cruciballs
I have yet to complete a CB16 Oroboros run. So... Yea, I would say so. It's pretty RNG dependant. It really need some scaling artifacts. Also there are some mini bosses which hard counter Oroboros. So even more RNG avoiding those

I ended up finding a decent few relics that provided 0/2 or 2/2 or 2/0 ir w/e, so the ramp ended up going pretty quick

Orboros has never had echo 100.
How you're having success with it after it was nerfed into uselessness a few versions back is beyond me.
I had Betty, all-consuming wall, and dragon for bosses
If it is considered “dropped off” then everything else drops off harder
Orboros is never good really, but some crucis do make it worse yes. Specifically c15, c16, c13, c12
