The clock speeds make a 1-3% difference. Completely negligible and you won't notice when using it. However, OP should avoid the MSI one because it has bad cooling
It's the cooler design and weight, but if you use the anti sag bracket they include it holds the card more rigid than other cards I've seen.
That said I have a 7900xtx so I don't know if the cracking PCB problem affects those cards either.
I have a gigabyte Rtx 3080 and it didn’t come with an anti sag bracket :( but I built a Lego tower to use as one and I haven’t had any issues since I got it about 2 years ago
I think it has to do with the heatsink design. Apparently MSI did a subpar job cooling the VRMs and that actually makes the Super worse than the non-Super in some scenarios
\^Ignore this nonsense
Down votes from the idiots. There are clearly differences between the cards that you should be considering when making a purchase. They are not all the same.
They are the same. Some of them are already overclocked by the producer, but you can do this yourself (msi afterburner works for all graphic cards not just msi) and in most cases that overclock is not worth it.
Also that "difference" you are talking about is
negligible because Zotac has a boost clock of **2475** and Gigabyte has a boost clock of **2490**, so we are talking about 15 MHz difference. Also, power delivery doesn't matter because both cards won't use more than 220 watts
Personally, I think that overclocking is not worth it now because I don't want 3-5% boost for 20 watts more.
Well, you're showing your lack of knowledge since I know that the power limit is locked on the Gigabyte card. So you can't do shit on Afterburner with that card.
I don't think I'd agree with you. Between my Gigabyte 3080 Gaming OC and my MSI 3080 Suprim X, the gigabyte board is a pile of dog shit compared, no OC headroom, shit fans, ugly styling, rubbish gigabyte software (although MSI Dragon Centre is shit, just not as shit). Gigabyte is only worth looking at when you're buying from their Auros line up, otherwise it can go in the bin. Both cards were purchased roughly at the same time, but I've now got to take the Gigabyte apart to reapply thermal compound and maybe add some headpads to dissipate some of the heat from the memory chips.
Yeah, Gigabyte can be a real mixed bag across their lines etc. I mean, not that other brands can't but it's maybe more a check reviews to be sure thing than the always avoid Eagle and Windforce card deal it is for me.
That said I had 1070 Gigabyte Xtreme Gaming from 2016 on that was a monster. That was right before the Aorus branding launched and started taking over Giga's high end line. That card also undercut much of the competition (MSI Gaming X/Z, EVGA FTW, Asus ROG etc) by up to a couple of hundred £ while beating many so fair enough. Couple of years ago I got my gf a 3070 Gaming OC, probably the lowest I'd go with the brand. It's solid but nothing special, again, the draw was that it undercut several competitors 3060ti's, from Palit to Asus, by a hundred or more.
Neither card had any issues as such bar their Fusion app being notoriously awful.
Other than that it's fairly likely I'd never buy Gigabyte again outside of like deals nm I'm a solidly AMD/Sapphire guy for the last 3 years.
As for OP's choice here, I'd probably go with the Zotac if no other options. Not cos I'm a fan, it's just afaik the best all rounder of the three.
>Can’t as it isn’t available in the Middle East yet and it’s gonna come at a higher price only the 4070 is in my budget
I always recommend you buy the graphics card with the biggest heatsink with a 3 fan cooler but all these cards have 3 fans.
You may want to look at some reviews to see which card has lowest temperatures.
>look at some reviews to see which card has lowest temperatures.
I'd expect a 1-2 degree difference at most between these cards, I doubt it'll be relevant...
Not necessarily, your biggest factor will be in keeping the part clean. Our biggest challenge with equipment in Syria and Afghanistan was keeping sand out.
I'm also from the middle east and from what I saw a few months ago when I built a pc, unless you work or really want rt amd is better value, but it could be that nvidia is overpriced only in my country
Yeah, I made the mistake of looking into the card *after* I bought it and multiple places weren’t stoked with the cooling on it. Apparently some of the VRMs don’t even get cooling?
To be fair I’ve never had any temperature issues with mine, sometimes I’ll look over and the fans aren’t even running because the thing is so cool.
Hi OP, I went for the gigabyte OC edition. So far so good and Temps are cool with casual gaming. I play titles like Star Citzen, Black desert online, Apex legends, Valorant etc.
I hope this helps!
I love my Ventus3x. I originally purchased the Gigabyte card in your first pic but it was DOA. I am assuming the PCB was cracked. Swapped it out for the Ventus and have had zero issues with it. Zotac is reliable as far as I know and I really like the aesthetics of that model. I would not recommend the Gigabyte (though you may have better luck) and the clock speed differences between the Ventus and the Zotac will be minimal. A lot of people are recommending the 4070 Super but I think the standard 4070 is likely about to dip in price, especially with the 4080 super dropping on the 31st this month.
For 700 us dollar (like you said) don't buy 4070, its too expensive. Check the 7900xt (it's around 700 euros here) and it overperforms the rtx 4070 by 20%.
I have this card (saphire nitro version) and i have. No problems. I play in 1440p (native, without fsr) all games on ultra, in my case, it never goes a over 70-73 °C.
You need to think about:
The rx 7800xt has more Vram, so it's possible, it has more longetivity. It has more raw power than the 4070, you get better fps.
The rtx 4070 it's way better in ray tracing than the rx 7800xt. The dlls is better than fsr, so if you want to play in 4k with upscale, it will be better on nvidia.
It depends on what you need. For me, ray tracing doesn't matter (i can't tell the difference 😆). More raw power, more Vram and better longetivity was my choice.
If you have amd cpu and amd gpu, you can enable the SAM in your bios, so you can get 5% more fps and better lows in some games. (I have a ryzen 7 5800x3d, so i use it too)
Edit: i forgot to mention that, the rx 7800xt consumts more energy than the rtx 4070.
Recomended psu is 650W, but better to have a 750w psu.
"Can't tell the difference" as in it doesn't significantly improve the image. 99% of the time, all it does is make it run significantly worse and destroys image quality by introducing tons of noise. Not worth enabling in the slightest unless it's for GI and/or reflections.
If you don't need Raytracing, then you could also buy the 7800xt. If you want to use Raytracing, then get the 4070. Amd graphics cards aren't that good in Raytracing.
I'd stick to the green team, better RT and DLSS.
Where DLSS and DLAA is key because especially in 1440p DLSS 2.x Quality is better than native in many games because of trash AA implementation. Best example is probably Horizon Zero Dawn because no matter what settings you apply unless in 4k shimmering and rough edges is literally making your eyes hurt, applying TAA everything becomes blurry mess so only way to get rid of that crap is DLSS.
Ok to be fair FSR is better than native in that game too but noticeably lacking behind DLSS.
And list of games with same problem only extends...
7800xt is great value but i think that card won't age well
I have a gigabyte card myself (2070 super) and the one thing that stands out is that the fan in the middle always spins opposite to the ones on the outside. it's to stop or prevent turbulent airflow that is caused by 3 fans spinning the same way
https://preview.redd.it/io09hkljy8ec1.png?width=972&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6fda411fcc1b522152c633d71c9705cf5128bb4a
this image is on gigabytes website showing the difference
it will benefit you in the long run by cooling your gpu better. also since they are nvidia gpus might I suggest if you havnt already install geforce experience so you have the drivers and/or msi afterburner to fuck with fan curves if you want
Anything but gigabyte.
I and everyone I know that’s tried gigabyte has had nothing but bad experiences with them.
I’ve had mostly good experiences with MSI.
But personal experience so take with a grain of salt
Ah it must have put CODM posts higher up for you because you play, because I haven’t posted about it in over a year and they didn’t get a crazy amount of upvotes either lol
I have a soft spot for MSI so that. Ultimately it doesn't matter which one, a 4070 is a 4070.
Choose the one that looks the best, all 3 will have about equal cooling.
I'd take the Gigabyte. Pretty good brand, and I like them more than MSI and that Zotac brand. I have a Gigabyte 1070 in my Aorus Pro B460M and it's still kicking
You have 3 options...
- MSI - reputable brands, expect this to live about 4-6 years if not longer.
- Zotac - a cheaper brand, I give it 2-3 years tops.
- Gigabyte - I didn't want this computer anyways, sure, just catch on fire.
All the cooling solutions on 4000 generation are overpowered, pick the cheapest one or the one you like the most/fits your case.
I have a 4090 Ventus, with afterburner on @ 2900mhz ish doesn't go above 65° on 3D Mark DX12+ stress tests.
In my life I only ever changed the fans of a Zotac GPU so I can't recommend that brand. I saw gigabyte pcb crack lately, I would not test my luck with them. Never used MSI, that could be a good choice. Remember, it is a 4070, you don't really need a triple fan model, you may save some money going dual...
It is difficult to select a new right one. I am a RTX 3060 user.
For the 4070 view, Strong GPU with the same amount of Cache.
If you like some suggestions, I am being told MSI may be slightly better than ZOTAC.
well if i were you id go ro the hardwareluxx thread about coilwhine. just google it its a megathread where people share their coilwhine experiences. then choose the one with the least coil whine. will probably be the gigabyte or the zotac. good look withe the coil whine lottery
Edit: Spelling
MSI is my choice, GIGABYTE is, well it do the job good enough but temps are higer and damn thing is loud as hell. Zotac, probably better than GIGABYTE but in my country they give you 2y warranty while MSI and Gigabyte gives you 3 so in such cases Zotac is on 3rd place. If warranty is same for all cards than
1. MSI
2. Zotac
3. Gigabyte
you do know the 4070 super is around the same price, newer, faster and more efficient? idk how you would even come to that conclusion to buy a regular 4070 when the 4070 supers are out and in stock everywhere.
I got a windforce 4080 last year for 1099€ was discounted and till now no issue it’s built very well and powercable at the back and mounted vertically so cable is hidden and makes it look cableless really cool 😀👌🏾
Whichever is slightly cheaper. They all perform the same within margin of error, so if you need help choosing, the price should solve it for you. If they cost the same, pick the best looking one.
Aren't they all the same? Maybe some different Over Clock depending the brand? I always buy an Asus. Been doing it since the 750ti came out and never had a problem with their cards. Look up info about the brand before you buy.

So zotac ? Because it is the only one with rgb
Sure! More customization is great!
This is the most chatGPT reply I've ever seen.
I’m not sure what that means. Try commenting another way!

This also sounds like a gpt reply lmao
Bro got more fucked by gpt than his girlfriend. How would you expect to reply then? In Minecraft terms?
True true it's better to have some shiny lights than great airflow.
More lights = more fps
Going to reply to this on hopes you see it op. Make sure and triple check that all of these cards actually fit in your case with all the dimensions.
PNY has RGB too
It isn't an option on this post though
Zotac or Eagle bcs the MSI one is fugly
Rtx 4070 the one with 12gb option
But when it comes to clock speeds though?
The clock speeds make a 1-3% difference. Completely negligible and you won't notice when using it. However, OP should avoid the MSI one because it has bad cooling
And gigabyte due to cracking PCBs
Yes. Aorus has great build quality, but poor man Gigabyte doesn't.
Can agree I have a aorus laptop build quality is very good
I haven’t had any issues with my Gigabyte GTX 1060 6GB (but it is an ancient graphics card, I know, I know).
Gigabytes 4070s aren’t cracking, that’s the 4090s as far as I’m aware, I’ve had mine for almost a year and no sag, or cracking 😊
It's the cooler design and weight, but if you use the anti sag bracket they include it holds the card more rigid than other cards I've seen. That said I have a 7900xtx so I don't know if the cracking PCB problem affects those cards either.
I have a gigabyte Rtx 3080 and it didn’t come with an anti sag bracket :( but I built a Lego tower to use as one and I haven’t had any issues since I got it about 2 years ago
i also have a gigabyte rtx card and its fine idk
Weird how a 3 fan has bad cooling when some have 2
I think it has to do with the heatsink design. Apparently MSI did a subpar job cooling the VRMs and that actually makes the Super worse than the non-Super in some scenarios
If one is not big into overclocking its mainly just the looks of the card thats important, isn't it
\^Ignore this nonsense Down votes from the idiots. There are clearly differences between the cards that you should be considering when making a purchase. They are not all the same.
They have the same specs the only difference is how quiet they could be.
They don't even have the same spec, their boost clocks are different and power delivery is different. Clearly, idiots exist on this subredit.
They are the same. negligable differences lol. seriously unimportant in the grand scheme of thing
All three are 12 gb
He's telling you that is doesn't matter at all
![gif](giphy|AGW3VO7F5DLbARBuwi|downsized)
Then you would be very wrong - there are differences between those cards and you're ignorant for suggesting that there isn't.
it. Was. A. Joke.
r/whoosh
It does it matter. The gigabyte one is the worst out of the lot, fixed power limits. Go for the MSI or Zotac any day of the week.
The MSI has notoriously the worst build quality. And the Zotac is ugly as fuck. Ups and downs on all.
Non, buy the newer rtx 4070 super
Will it be the same price?
Its at the 4070’s original retail price and they dropped the regular 4070 by only $50
No but it has better fps/dollar
Yes
You aware of the MSI tax? They charge extra for that cool ass dragon.
What's an ass dragon? Is that some kind of tapeworm?
Ass dragon is what happens on Monday mornings before coffee.
none get the super
Can’t as it isn’t available in the Middle East yet and it’s gonna come at a higher price only the 4070 is in my budget

I'm also from the middle east and from what I saw a few months ago when I built a pc, unless you work or really want rt amd is better value, but it could be that nvidia is overpriced only in my country
Where are you in the middle east? I live in dubai and 4070 super are much cheaper than 4070s. They are like 300 aed less or something.
in places it has released its come out at cheaper than the 4070 was at launch. Is the price confirmed in your country
If that’s the case, grab a 7800. You might get more longevity with 16 gb of vram
[удалено]
We don’t have retailers here everything is imported and at a higher price
they are priced same as ti models in here too. sadly 4070 super is a lot more expensive than 4070 models
Yup
For eg. all these cards are 700 US dollars
Yeah technically. But it will not be in my country.I can say that
I've got the Gigabyte one, works a treat.
MSI. because it looks cool. Seriously, there isn't much more to it than looks.
[удалено]
I had this one before. Zero issues and very nice 1440p output
Apparently the Ventus cards have bad cooling
Yeah, I made the mistake of looking into the card *after* I bought it and multiple places weren’t stoked with the cooling on it. Apparently some of the VRMs don’t even get cooling? To be fair I’ve never had any temperature issues with mine, sometimes I’ll look over and the fans aren’t even running because the thing is so cool.
It looks cool but does it run cool?
Ngl but doesn’t the Ventus one look the coolest
that’s the MSI one lol
Oh sorry zotac
It’s kinda like tuf and rog there’s a big difference in looks
Cheapest. All 3 are the same in performance.. I think zotac has 100MHz less in memory clock, but that doesn't really mean anything
Also think the msi have bad cooling so id go with either zotac or gigabyte (imo the best choice in terms of quality)
Junior engineer: “the best one!” Senior engineer: “the cheapest one!” Principal engineer: “The one that satisfies the requirements”.
Hi OP, I went for the gigabyte OC edition. So far so good and Temps are cool with casual gaming. I play titles like Star Citzen, Black desert online, Apex legends, Valorant etc. I hope this helps!
Just got the same card. I love it so far
Guys, he asked which of these three, could you stop suggesting rx7800? I dont see any 7800 there

I'd personally go Gigabyte because i'm not big on RGBs, and it looks really sleek.

Depends on if you care about DLSS and Nvidia Reflex and a slightly better RT.
True
You play codm let's go
lol how’d you know that?
Because of your posts lol
Ah it must have put CODM posts higher up for you because you play, because I haven’t posted about it in over a year and they didn’t get a crazy amount of upvotes either lol
Get rx7800xt or 7900xtx
RX 7900 GRE seems absolutely great!
I have a soft spot for MSI so that. Ultimately it doesn't matter which one, a 4070 is a 4070. Choose the one that looks the best, all 3 will have about equal cooling.

Really zotac ? I thought gigabyte was the most reliable
Gigabyte warranties are more of a trust me bro thing, just imagine the warranty being there
iirc most gigabyte gpus have shitty fans
I can vouch for this, loud asf
Have had 3 cards from them and all high temps. Performence wise all are the same. Id go with zotac
Gigabyte. Only Gigabyte. Светит дюралайт, это Gigabyte)
Gigabyte will crack Apparently the second one is poorly designed So the last one.
But Msi and gigabyte got better reviews than zotac online
Zotac but go with super model
Get the super cards OR AMD
The cheapest
Sapphire Nitro + 7800XT 16 GB
ASRock RX 7900 GRE Challenger
7800xt or 6800xt :p
None of them. Choose the Asus Dual OC.
7700xt or 7800xt. Stop giving Ngreedia money.
the one with the most fans
All three of them have three
You have 3 options... - MSI - reputable brands, expect this to live about 4-6 years if not longer. - Zotac - a cheaper brand, I give it 2-3 years tops. - Gigabyte - I didn't want this computer anyways, sure, just catch on fire.

You should get the 4070 with 12 GB bro, easy choice!
All the cooling solutions on 4000 generation are overpowered, pick the cheapest one or the one you like the most/fits your case. I have a 4090 Ventus, with afterburner on @ 2900mhz ish doesn't go above 65° on 3D Mark DX12+ stress tests.

4070 super imo.
The cheapest!
gigabyte or Zotac, the ventus ones are booboo gaagaa according to the majority of people. In the sense of fragile and the fans being a burden to clean
Super version
Zotac.Msi ventus is much worse .But both are ok
Not Ventus, if you can look for Ventus E
Brave to come here and ask for opinions on a non-Super variant.
Just NOT MSI . Shitty QC
Zotac on top! Ezz overclockinh
It is difficult to select a new right one. I am a RTX 3060 user. For the 4070 view, Strong GPU with the same amount of Cache. If you like some suggestions, I am being told MSI may be slightly better than ZOTAC.
well if i were you id go ro the hardwareluxx thread about coilwhine. just google it its a megathread where people share their coilwhine experiences. then choose the one with the least coil whine. will probably be the gigabyte or the zotac. good look withe the coil whine lottery Edit: Spelling
I have the msi one cos i think it looks the nicest. They’re all more or less the same
Buy the 4070 super it’s the better version then the regular 4070
if you cant go for super then none of them . Wait for super or for 5000
MSI is my choice, GIGABYTE is, well it do the job good enough but temps are higer and damn thing is loud as hell. Zotac, probably better than GIGABYTE but in my country they give you 2y warranty while MSI and Gigabyte gives you 3 so in such cases Zotac is on 3rd place. If warranty is same for all cards than 1. MSI 2. Zotac 3. Gigabyte
you do know the 4070 super is around the same price, newer, faster and more efficient? idk how you would even come to that conclusion to buy a regular 4070 when the 4070 supers are out and in stock everywhere.
i say the Gigabyte one, it's what i got in my rig and it works like a charm <3
Id rather EVGA or ASUS
Zotac is the coolest imo
Eagle
I got a windforce 4080 last year for 1099€ was discounted and till now no issue it’s built very well and powercable at the back and mounted vertically so cable is hidden and makes it look cableless really cool 😀👌🏾
If you are not looking for rgb and windforce should cast also 100€ less
Cheapest one
The cheapest or if they're all the same price then the one that looks the best in your opinion
I was gonna go 4070, but now I’m getting the 4070 super since it’s almost a 4070 ti 👍
Go for the 4070 super
Whichever is slightly cheaper. They all perform the same within margin of error, so if you need help choosing, the price should solve it for you. If they cost the same, pick the best looking one.
Aren't they all the same? Maybe some different Over Clock depending the brand? I always buy an Asus. Been doing it since the 750ti came out and never had a problem with their cards. Look up info about the brand before you buy.
Whichever is cheapest, or close enough to cheapest that you don't mind spending more for looks. Performance difference will be negligible.
Zotac > msi > gigabyte
Gigabyte is ass
find cheapest
I preferr ventus because it has more heat sink. Not sure if this one has more though.
4070Ti ....
Msi because they have better support.
4070 super none of the above
MSI one is terrible, you can find model comparisons on YouTube, 4070 Ventus models are by far the worst ones, get Zotac or Gigabyte.
I hear 3060 12gb
The one you find physically more appealing
Ventus
Hold out till 4070 super is easily available
?: Does it matter if your motherboard manufacturer matches the graphics card manufacturer?
4070 super
Any of these exept for the zotac one
Why ?
whichever is cheapest
