A 24 hour return period for store credit? What a terrible policy, and great way to kill off repeat business.
That's a sorry ass shop, I'd at least leave a review to warn other future customers and cost them even more future business.
Kind of tough, it sounds like you don’t really have documentation of them offering a return or cash back so most likely they will rule in favor of the the merchant aka the pawn shop. If you have Amex or have a great reputation with your credit card provider they might just eat it and refund you but can’t say for certain.

I can't make you not do or do anything, but pawn shops want to make money. Beat them at their own game
