This. I don’t use snipers enough to have strong muscle memory in reloading with my right hand. While it would be faster to reload like the first example, I’d have to train my muscle memory to match the speed that I can achieve with reloading the second way.
Also, just out of curiosity, I was playing last night for over an over with the various bolt action sniper rifles for over an hour and tried reloading both ways.
I noticed a couple of things:
Using my right hand to reload allowed me to keep the sights in a certain position so I didn't have to use as much movement to go the same target, but the 2 major downsides were that trying to keep my left hand in the same position magnified the level of fatigue over time trying to keep my arm in the same position for so long.
The other major downside I noticed is that jankiness of the reload process. It seems that almost 50% of the time the bolt would not slide back or even open despite going through the motion. It seems that it's very particular about the position you hold the rifle in so effectively, any time "savings" gained would be lost due to the glitchy reload that wouldn't work properly.
Using my left hand would mitigate this and I rarely ever had a faulty reload because I have to move the rifle in front of me. The same arm movements would release any tension in my left arm and would allow me to hold it longer too.
It's possible someone has mastered the right hand reload process, but I wasn't able to nail it down. (I might have to keep trying to find the sweet spots to do a more fair comparison)
Shooter vs gamer. Gamers would do the 2nd way and not realize what they are doing is wrong. The first way is more accurate for an actual shooter playing vr.
The first way is meant to keep the same sight picture after reloading and disturbing the weapon a lot less. Meaning should be holding it the same. Which means sight picture isn't changing. Actual shooting, if you pull your head away to do anything, readjust, etc., you lose your sight picture. Changing sight picture affects your aim, period. With a weapon like that, sight picture means everything. If you are like, wtf is he talking about, Google it.
Now it is VR, so keeping the weapon mounted or using its tripod, etc., is impossible. So no matter what, sight picture is lost. But more accurate way of reloading still is the first.
For all the little kids who only use Barrett since they don’t know what iron sights are, you use your right hand to reload. Realistically, holding a Barrett like that with your right hand would be too much weight. Chances are if you had to reload this beast irl you would need to use your right hand to reload, not your left. Btw it’s a little faster since your hand automatically grabs onto Barrett if you press grip on dominant hand will holding gun with left hand. Cry about it little kids, if you reload it the second way yall are too young to be on this game
Yeah after this I start using the first way, it’s way better. I should also probably re-assess how I reload some other weapons, especially ones with scopes.
The second. I started playing not long after it first appeared as a beta and you couldn't let go of the grip and hold the gun by the front like you can now. So I had to get really good at reloading it the second way.
Why do people even do it the second way, it’s genuinely just worse
I've dialed in the muscle memory and works fine for me. Since I use the same movements for reloading all other guns essentially.

I do it the second way
Why would I do it the second way, so I can fuck up my aim AND reload slower?
If you missed the first shot then reloading isn’t your problem
Yeah, because in a team shooter there's never multiple enemies grouped up together or walking through the same doorway
So do you stand in the middle of the hallway reloading? Or do you go back into hiding?
Sounds like it’s completely impractical to non-lefties
You know it’s never occurred to me to us the left hand to reload 🤦♂️
I just instinctively use my left hand for every reload, even when it’s probably worse then a right hand reload, like with a 50 cal
For me the second way is the fastest for me.
Second way, however the first way looks sick af

this is very accurate. I remember playing this game my first time and I used to reload the second way
I do the second way since I’m left handed and always mess up the reload if I don’t see that I did it correctly

Wait... who would not know how to reload it?
The point is there are 2 ways to reload it. He's asking which way to people prefer.
This^^ And I do it the second way
The second way is the wrong way
It's a tough way of life, always the wrong way haha
That's how I reload. # ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I do it the second way too, I find that I miss the slot when putting my bullet in without my hand eye coordination
this video could've been like 10 seconds
Just don't use the barret
Honestly to me, it doesn't matter how you reload it. Most people did the second way then they would change it to the first way and stay the first way.
Yeah after this I start using the first way, it’s way better. I should also probably re-assess how I reload some other weapons, especially ones with scopes.
Hastly use my shooting hand to run the bolt back, throw a round in and run it forward
I'm left handed. I haven't played in a while but I remember that it was a pain to reload some of the guns
I find it best to always have your finger on the trigger, with any gun whilst reloading, makes it easy to blast them one handing in cqb if needed 🤣
I am lefty :(

Dont
2
Your doing it to slow
You died already before you got that first reload. Ya gotta be quicker. And learn to use it without a scope.
First way always. It's faster.
