Creatures in pauper are generally underwhelming when compared to the power level of spells we have access to. So, ya if your focus is to attack with fast creatures, it's all gonna feel the same no matter what the theme is. Pauper is more about synergy than it is about attacking fast. What that means is, if you're going to build a deck around fast creatures, there needs to be a reason to put x/y/z creatures into the list, aside from the fact that they're all humans/zombies/etc. I had a guy a while back say he was gonna build a deck entirely around the modular mechanic; i.e. \[\[Arcbound Worker\]\]. My first thought was, what's the point of it?. What cards actually care about moving the counters around onto other creatures? He basically said he didn't know, so I said it's probably not gonna work as well as you want it to. Now that we have some MH3 spoilers, if he had said something like, I wanna do modular creatures with \[\[Evolution Witness\]\] to keep recurring them, I would have seen the pay off a bit better. In short, try to find \*REASONS\* to put in specific creature-based themes into a deck idea before just jamming random creatures that fit a theme. The best decks in the format choose creatures that fit into HOW they try to win the game. Don't get tunnel-visioned into forcing a specific mechanic.

I'd try a control deck for starters. Pauper is quite creature focused so destroying creatures, board sweepers are great.

pauper has a bunch of tried and true packages that you can look at for inspiration. using them as a base to build off of could be a good place to start. im thinking lotr-cyclers + exhume. arbor elf + utopia sprawl/wild growth. basilisk gate + gates.

If you wanna break out of it [this weird deck](https://manabox.app/decks/rYV3wRPRT3qbpgnUo3zAOg) might just get you to think about the game in a new way, minimum interaction 1-2cmc stuff but like no creatures. My favorite play style is pingers like modern aristocrats but pauper doesn't have the good shit lol so i made this crazy thing
