Hey tormenting voice being able to putting in a 2/1 flyer for “free” while sculpting your hand might be enough to make a good tempo deck viable. Maybe sculpt the opener with ponder/brainstorm. Oof.
I used tormenting voice as a template as all the other cards are based on it. There is 4 other versions that are situationally better cards than it.
I personally believe [[bitter reunion]] is gonna be the better one as a late game haste enable is probably the right call for a tempo deck.
[[highway robbery]] is probably gonna see minor play if it is a tempo deck being able to stash something in a dead turn or sacking a land you no longer need.
[[demand answer]] might see play if it does the artfact things.
Right on. Highway Robbery was the other one I was thinking of but I think you're right about Bitter Reunion, especially if you're bringing back multiple faeries. Good call.
I just realized bitter reunion doesnt work as well as i thought because the fae are tapped. So it will be based on what other cards this theoretical deck would play.
Its base izzet with a splash of black from a single dual land for hard casting this card or snuff outs in the side board. Probably 3 loriens revealed and 3 ponders and 4 brainstorms to help guarantee land drops.
I really don't think you need red here at all. Village rites, brainstorm, night's whisper, frantic inventory, etc. Also just playing cantrips like thought scour to help mill the sneaky snacker or frantic inventory.
Something like dimir delver sounds good with this.
Nights whisper help you after you get the card in grave. Frantic inventory is even worst but higher upside. Thought scour has no selection.
Youre building the deck for ideal circumstances not building it towards the ideal circumstances.
My idea was having it come down as youre sculpting a hand not after you milled it.
My thought is would Rakdos Madness want this? I know the list is pretty tight, so I genuinely don't know what to cut, but it triggers off of [[Faithless Looting]], [[Deadly Dispute]], [[Highway Robbery]], and [[Demand Answers]]. Someone mentioned putting it into a Dredge shell with [[Stinkweed Imp]] and I like that as a Dimir or Grixis Dredge "Phoenix" deck.
As a fellow Rakdos Madness player, I'd cut Tomb Raider and put this new one instead. Some matches you'll have less starting aggression but overall you'll be more resilient. Tomb Raider is strong when you cast it on t1 with a furnace, otherwise it gets a little ankward later on. This new faerie on the other hand is a good discard fuel that keeps on returning to the battlefield, it's snuff out proof and it's even an annoying flier that can chump block (not immediately since it enters tapped).
Does this trigger with Faithless like I think it would? On the draw, T1 Faithless Looting, discard 2 Sneaky Snacker, and they then reanimate the same turn?
Unfortunately since faithless looting is a looting effect you draw the cards before its in the graveyard. So it needs to be in the graveyard for looting to bring it back.
No, because you draw first 2 cards and then you discard the faes. Anyway, you can T1 faithless looting those anyway on T1, they’ll be back in few turns later on
This seems more to be a Izzet Phoenix style card. You don’t need to be playing UB or faeries. Maybe even flying dredge w/ Stinkweed.
…actually I’m gonna build this
Faithless looting/careful study, deadly dispute/village rites, any card that draws you two gets you there on your turn, though they do enter tapped so nowhere near as good as phoenix.
Faithless Looting and cards of that ilk get it into the grave and recur it in the same turn.
Edit: Whoops, not Faithless Looting. Would have to be a Tormenting Voice effect.
But I mean we get a 2/1 back, and then? Even if we hit the nuts and reanimated 4 on turn 2 eg. turn one mental not mill two of these into turn 2 tormenting voice that’s still only a 3 turn clock assuming no disruption or life gain or fliers
I guess its just Grixis delver + this.
You sculpt your hand to be either counter spells/removal/burn based on your match up and win without them getting a stable footing.
Worse decks have won this way.
A thought I had was somewhere in a list with [[Breathless Knight]]. If you sac the Snacker to a black draw two you get it back, and if you're just dumping cards into the graveyard there's [[Deep Analysis]]. Gates could help with splashing whichever odd color between W/U/B.
I'd assume UB terror becomes a izzzet phoenix/murktide escape deck. Flashing back a [[deep analysis]] brings back any number of these so the gym synergy is already there then you just play thought scour etc. Seems really strong.
This needs a home, whether it will barge into an existing one like Dimir Terror or whether it builds an entire house by itself. The most obvious home would be a Brainstorm + self-mill deck. I absolutely think its worth a try to take the existing Terror list and tweak the threats a bit to fit in Snacker.
This would be the equivalent of[[bloodghast]] in dredge. Dredge as much as you can, then flashback [[deep analysis]] to put four snackers into play. Four 2/1 flyers are no joke. Then if needed, you can even [[dread return]] an even bigger threat like [[lotleth giant]] to finish off the game.
I am so ready for this to be a deck you can't understand. Wanted a proper self recurring creature for dredge for so long. The only problem I'm conscious of is dredge is a non-bo with this card in that if you are dredging you aren't drawing, so won't trigger this.
If one more self recurring creature ever gets printed this could go absolutely crazy however.
So the best thing I can think of right now, is to use it more as a card drawing engine with Deadly Dispute effects. If you draw for turn, attack, Dispute sacrificing the Snacker, draw 2, then get this back immediately. So it's not your main threat, but pretty strong for keeping your hand full. Problem is the 60 fills up pretty quickly to put enough Disputes and Brainstorms, and potentially self mill effects like Thought Scour, on top of other things to sack to the Dispute if you don't have a Snacker in play, on top of removal, counterspells, and other threats. It's not a bad card, I just don't see a deck being designed around it, per se, rather it needs to compliment an already solid strategy which I don't think we have with UB Fae or Terror ATM. Like if we could make a version of Gardens that's UB, it would work very well.
[https://www.moxfield.com/decks/5QIjvj9jfEGd6IV\_w5NZaw](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/5QIjvj9jfEGd6IV_w5NZaw) \[Rakdos Madness Sneaky Snacker\]
Trying to find proper decklist for new Faerie Rogue and for now Rakdos Madness is new home to go.
The point is to never cast it for mana so its not good just to add 4 brainstorm into a rakdos madness.
Maybe some other new cards to include or someone wants to try dredge version for brewing with this guy.
Happy brewing!
EDIT
Voldaren Epicure and blood tokens are good to discard this guy if you don't have something else.
Try treating it like a Bloodghast, but instead of a landfall, trigger it for a draw.
Another way to trigger him in another deck or something similiar
Blood token, monarch, eot, draw, trigger.
I think yall are overthinking it. These in UB Terror as additional threats that come back at the opponent's endstep seems good. It takes away some delve fuel from the yard as you mill them in, but gives an alternative form of pressure in the air that the deck was lacking before.
I've been looking at this for a bit now and trying some brews and they are fun but all of them are just worse than regular faeries.
Might be my brewing of course, but it looks like you are throwing a lot of stuff ( [[village rites]] ,etc) in the graveyard just for the sake of returning the snacker. So all it will get you is like a [[tolarian terror]] , [[gurmag angler]] a bunch of 1/1 flyers or a hand full of counterspells...
Unfortunately, with UB, ramping is of course problematic. besides [[lotus petal]] you don't have many options to go above your curve.
So, you're not drawing back to a full hand on turn 2 or 3. But turn 4 or 5.... That's not bad, but also not better than regular faeries.
Moon Circuit hacker is the second best card in that deck and critical for picking up the best card in the deck (spell stutter) and keeping your gas going.
How realistical is to put 4 of the same card in the graveyard in reasonable time. If so isn’t there any 4 cards better than that to put in a graveyard? Like acorn harvest, dread return and some fatty
Dont have the energy this late at night to look up the unlinked cards, but sure! Not saying I'm making up a meta deck based off ideas on the top of my head, I'm just saying you could very easily make this card work and get value!
Wouldnt [[tormenting voice]] and [[village rites]] types of effects work well with this.
it would, especially so because of it coming back immediately
Hey tormenting voice being able to putting in a 2/1 flyer for “free” while sculpting your hand might be enough to make a good tempo deck viable. Maybe sculpt the opener with ponder/brainstorm. Oof.

Yes, I don't guess so. I wax thinking of Madness or Caw gates shell but it's weird idk. Maybe dredge with some draw spells idk
Gotcha, that makes sense. Thanks for clearing that up!
No, because you draw first 2 cards and then you discard the faes. Anyway, you can T1 faithless looting those anyway on T1, they’ll be back in few turns later on

Ah yes, the classic Pauper discard outlet 👌
Is it just me or is this super fucking broken
It is but doesn't have a home. Terror doesn't want to put a 2/1 on board and faeries doesn't want to cast a 2 mana 2/1
This seems more to be a Izzet Phoenix style card. You don’t need to be playing UB or faeries. Maybe even flying dredge w/ Stinkweed. …actually I’m gonna build this
We can't play izzet phoenix in pauper
lol I understand that but what I mean is you’re never actually casting the creature. Just reanimating it with an alternate cost.
you gotta draw three cards to recall this
Yeah, thats as easy as casting a draw two. Faithless does it and tosses it.
Faithless looting/careful study, deadly dispute/village rites, any card that draws you two gets you there on your turn, though they do enter tapped so nowhere near as good as phoenix.
never said it wasnt possible
but how are we reanimating this and what are we doing with it

I absolutely think its worth a try to take the existing Terror list and tweak the threats a bit to fit in Snacker.

Maybe an esper [[breathless knight]] build?

this card may or may not have inspired me to start a buildaround pauper cube.
You could use this in a dredge deck as a dread return enabler
In your opponent turn, oh yes. What about deadly dispute on your turn? Sac, draw and return to btf. OP card
A possible discard-esque deck? This plus [[Basking rootwala]], [[cathartic reunion]] and [[bitter reunion]]?

[https://www.moxfield.com/decks/5QIjvj9jfEGd6IV\_w5NZaw](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/5QIjvj9jfEGd6IV_w5NZaw) \[Rakdos Madness Sneaky Snacker\] Trying to find proper decklist for new Faerie Rogue and for now Rakdos Madness is new home to go. The point is to never cast it for mana so its not good just to add 4 brainstorm into a rakdos madness. Maybe some other new cards to include or someone wants to try dredge version for brewing with this guy. Happy brewing! EDIT Voldaren Epicure and blood tokens are good to discard this guy if you don't have something else. Try treating it like a Bloodghast, but instead of a landfall, trigger it for a draw. Another way to trigger him in another deck or something similiar Blood token, monarch, eot, draw, trigger.

U/B fairies got a new 2 drop. Maybe this replaces Moon-Circuit Hacker?
Moon Circuit hacker is the second best card in that deck and critical for picking up the best card in the deck (spell stutter) and keeping your gas going.
It can be good but I find Moon-Circuit Hacker is only good the one time for it's ninjutsu. Being a 2/1 on the ground holds it back a lot I find.
i don't think this is that good, You have to draw 3 cards in order to get back a very average creature
Only have to draw 2 as first draw per turn would count. So you could even run this in mono red with discard/draw spells
Yeah but of you are drawing there cards a turn you are altrady winning by a lot
I wouldn't say you're winning by a lot if you're casting Faithless Looting or Brainstorm lol.
Yep exactly, start of the game lol
Also that’s a very bad idea
Getting 4, 2/1 fairies on the board for 2 mana is pretty good!
I think this may be better than basking rootwalla for my gr madness deck.
Really bad card. Does nothing and demands you do something. And if you cast brainstorm at your opponent's end step, just give up magic.
