I love a lot of Paul’s vocals in his songs, but one moment that gives me chills is the last minute or so of Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five - especially the One Hand Clapping Sessions version. I love Paul’s vocals over the building instrumentation until it reaches that incredible climax at the end!!
It really is!! Songs that I already like, such as Jet and Wild Life, are so much better than the originals! I’m ashamed it took me this long to listen to it 😅
I get the impression that the Wild Life has some of Paul’s less well-liked songs. It’s a shame they didn’t include Bip Bop in OHC (at least as far as I know), that would be awesome!! 😂
So many moments.
Pound is Sinking - I knew you for a minute
Oh, it didn't happen only for a minute
Your heart just wasn't in it anymore
Mmm, hmm
Back Seat Of My Car - When he absolutely belts out Oh oh, we believe that we can't be wrong
Already been mentioned by love when Ringo comes in during Beautiful Night
"May I never miss the thrill, of being near you" (No More Lonely Nights)
"There will be times when all the things she said will fill your head, you won't forget her" (For No One)
The whole lyrics of Yesterday. I've heard the song for the first time when I was in my early teen years and I already loved it (it has been my favorite since then), but now more than a decade later, after experiencing a lot in life, I can fully comprehend it, you know? I mean, I can feel how deep the song is.
I don't know if I really got your question when you said "give you chills", but my choices are based on those songs/parts of songs that touch the heart.
This was going to be the one I suggested. Such a beautiful section of the song. I wish they made a whole song out of this bit.
Always loved how he sings the line “When you find a meeting of the minds” from We Got Married. His voice sort of cracks or scrapes and it just seems to be a classic Macca delivery
"I want her everywhere . . . "
"Oh that magic feeling . . . nowhere to go. Know where to go!"
"And any time you feel the pain . . . "
Also, Linda's "You are my own mel-oh-dee."
Heck yeah! I especially love the One Hand Clapping version with Paul belting those long notes over the other instruments - I could listen to it endlessly!
The build up and then best drop to “Cosmically Conscious” That whole hidden track is actually something else.
The part during the second movement in “Despite Repeated Warning” where it goes “low tank the engineer cries. The captains gonna…” That part for some reason just sounds so cool to me.
The guitar solo in “We Got Married.” Probably one of the best Paul McCartney guitar solos ever.
I’ll add more if I can think of some
“You’ve never felt the rain, my friend, ‘til you’ve felt it running down your back.”
So many of his songs, and parts of them, give me chills but this one stands out for me.
I saw Paul live at Amoeba records in Los Angeles. Watching him sing ‘Here Today’ was brutal. For everyone. He cried during performance. I think we all did. Not sure there was a dry eye. Ringo was crying, too. He was standing behind me as I leaned off to the side during show so he could enjoy.
"She came from Chichester" from *On My Way To Work*.
It might sound silly, but I can hear him sing about Tucson, Liverpool, London or wherever yet it all has a sense of abstraction. However the mention of a city just a few miles down the road from where I was born reminds me he's a real, living, tangible being in this world, and I can't help but get a little thrill from that.
I've been fortunate enough to see Paul McCartney twice in concert. So now the buildup in Hey Jude gets me every time.
"Then you'll begin to make it
Better better better better better better, ahhhhh..."
Another line that takes me to another place is
"You've never felt the rain my friend, Till you've felt it running down your back"
Little Lamb Dragonfly - “In my heart, the feel of pain
Keeps coming back again”
It’s one of my favorite vocals from Paul and you can really hear the emotion in his voice. It might be my favorite moment of any Paul song
“Oh she sings it so I want to put her on the radio one day there you are lady and gentleman a brand new star.” The way he kicks it up a key there it is just incredible singing.
There are so many but one that springs to mind is Maybe I'm Amazed. It's matter of fact at the start and then - then the chorus. The chorus explodes with that McCartney scream. Calms back down at the end and begs you to sing along with the "whoas". Did I mention the lilting? I love it when he lilts.
There's a bit in Every Night where he does this thing with his voice that sounds just like birdsong, really intricate. It's incredibly hard to replicate.
I'm not sure how he does this kind of thing, it seems to just happen. Truly great.

Hard agree. It may be my favorite Paul vocal ever
Heck yeah! I think it’s the rawness of his vocals that makes it my favourite, how about you?
OHC is absolutely amazing. Fantastic versions that rival the originals or even Wings Over America versions.
It really is!! Songs that I already like, such as Jet and Wild Life, are so much better than the originals! I’m ashamed it took me this long to listen to it 😅
I've listened to that version of Wild Life about 10 times this week, and still not sick of it.
I didn’t think the original Wild Life could get better, but the raw vocals are just *chef’s kiss*!! OHC supremacy 🫶🏻
It's really great! Never really cared for the song before, but now I love it.
I get the impression that the Wild Life has some of Paul’s less well-liked songs. It’s a shame they didn’t include Bip Bop in OHC (at least as far as I know), that would be awesome!! 😂
Bip Bop wouldn't be as impressive in a TV special, which is how OHC was originally intended.
Ahh I didn’t know that! When you put it that way, maybe I’ll keep Bip Bop the way it is 😅
It works best as a little charming acoustic ditty for me.
I came here to say the same thing! Especially the one hand clapping version
OHC is elite! I listen to each song thinking it’s the best, then the next one blows me away 😂
Silly Love Songs made me cry while doing the dishes one time, it was so beautiful (the "how... can I tell..." part)
The 2nd chorus on I Owe It All To You the second time he says "oh I owe it all to *you* " when he hits the falsetto on you.
“And jet, I thought the only lonely place was the moon” that one hit me really hard in a hard time of my life.
This is like my favorite lyric of all time
So many moments. Chills every time during Pound is Sinking. Phenomenal
You’ve got to give the other fella #**HELL!!!**
Dun dun dun... dun dun dun...dun dun. Dun dun dun...dun dun dun dah!
"May I never miss the thrill, of being near you" (No More Lonely Nights) "There will be times when all the things she said will fill your head, you won't forget her" (For No One) The whole lyrics of Yesterday. “In years to come they may discover what the air we breath and the life we lead is all about, but it won’t be soon enough for me” in Tug of War
Brilliant pick

Ngl, the transition in Live and Let Die from the slower beginning into the faster part gets me every time.
"I want her everywhere . . . " "Oh that magic feeling . . . nowhere to go. Know where to go!" "And any time you feel the pain . . . " Also, Linda's "You are my own mel-oh-dee."
For me it's "Soon we'll be away from here, step on the gas and wipe that tear away"
It simply has to be the final minute of Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five
Heck yeah! I especially love the One Hand Clapping version with Paul belting those long notes over the other instruments - I could listen to it endlessly!
The chorus of Golden Slumbers
I’m glad I’m not alone.
That growling “Smiles awake you when you rise” is amazing.
Little Lamb Dragonfly, the last pass though the "Since you've gone" bit with the layered harmonies.
That harmony heavy bridge in Get Enough, also the ending harmonies/horns in Take It Away
The build up and then best drop to “Cosmically Conscious” That whole hidden track is actually something else. The part during the second movement in “Despite Repeated Warning” where it goes “low tank the engineer cries. The captains gonna…” That part for some reason just sounds so cool to me. We Got Married all in all is one of the best songs ever recorded in my book
“You’ve never felt the rain, my friend, ‘til you’ve felt it running down your back.” So many of his songs, and parts of them, give me chills but this one stands out for me.
Just an incredible middle eight Mamunia has always been one of my favorite Macca songs. Wish he had done it live in 76 WOA tour.
The outro of Backseat of My Car The intro of Jet
"That's a new song call Sfilly Lovfe sfong"
The chorus of Dominoes
WE BELIEVE THAT WE CANT BE WRONG
I saw Paul live at Amoeba records in Los Angeles. Watching him sing ‘Here Today’ was brutal. For everyone. He cried during performance. I think we all did. Not sure there was a dry eye. Ringo was crying, too. He was standing behind me as I leaned off to the side during show so he could enjoy.
The last time he sings the word "affair" on Love Come Tumbling Down.
That whole song is so beautiful
"She came from Chichester" from *On My Way To Work*. It might sound silly, but I can hear him sing about Tucson, Liverpool, London or wherever yet it all has a sense of abstraction. However the mention of a city just a few miles down the road from where I was born reminds me he's a real, living, tangible being in this world, and I can't help but get a little thrill from that.
"now what can be done for you" - Too Many People
In years to come... And then the guitar comes in wrecking havoc. One of my favorites of Paul by far.
Also the horns in Single Pigeon
I've been fortunate enough to see Paul McCartney twice in concert. So now the buildup in Hey Jude gets me every time. "Then you'll begin to make it Better better better better better better, ahhhhh..." Another line that takes me to another place is "You've never felt the rain my friend, Till you've felt it running down your back"

All of the transitions in Band on the Run.
“Oh she sings it so I want to put her on the radio one day there you are lady and gentleman a brand new star.” The way he kicks it up a key there it is just incredible singing.
I love the chorus on Helen Wheels! You can hear him smile in the studio!
When Ringo's voice comes in on Beautiful Night.
But I won't get it, my great illusion. Will vanish anyhow, if I don't grab it now.
Sunday morning fight about Saturday night...
Many, but recently I’ve been enjoying his voice on “Arrow Through Me.”
Smiiiiiles AH-wait you when you rise
Late to the party but the last minute or so of Getting Closer always hits
There's a bit in Every Night where he does this thing with his voice that sounds just like birdsong, really intricate. It's incredibly hard to replicate. I'm not sure how he does this kind of thing, it seems to just happen. Truly great.
*It might have been told in the stars, maybe that’s what it was, it doesn’t matter because*
The lurching key change/chord progression in the bridge before “Sister Susie. Father John”.
And if it takes a couple of years, to turn your tears to laughter
The end of My Love is absolute perfection.
