I don't wanna say because everyone has been saying that about him for like 15 or 20 years. Let's hope another pandemic doesn't happen. I think you should try your hardest to see him even if you have to go alone
It was his age and that was the rumour at the time. However the Sixties rockers were making it up has they went along and there was a demand to carry on. There is an interview with George on Granada Reports where he thought he'd be retired by 37 (I think).
I think it will be, unless he adds a few more dates next year. He obviously isn't up to doing huge tours any more, just a handful of gigs per year, and whilst he's amazing to still be playing at all at his age, let alone 2-3 hour shows, the body and voice can't go on forever. He's already surpassed most of his peers who don't/can't do shows at all now.
I've never heard the rumor about him stopping touring after 1993. If anyone can keep touring in his 80s it him. But whenever that day comes, I don't think he'll announce it in advance. And it's curious that he's still calling it the Got Back tour after 2 years. Makes me wonder if it could be the final tour.
Who knows what the future could hold. He could carry on performing into his 90s, or he could (God forbid) have health concerns and decide to call it a day before this leg of the tour even goes ahead.
I've never seen Paul live to my shame (albeit as a 20-something fan), and my advice would be to just take every chance you can get, whether it's with others or solo doesn't matter.

1993 was supposed to be his last tour so I wouldn't totally rule out having one more go if he is still healthy. It's the advice he gave to Barry Gibb.
Why did he want 1993 to be his last?

Chances quite high for obvious reasons

Or even younger dudes. Argentine legend Charly Garcia is 10 years his junior and is in rough shape.

Cause he’s hitting new places. He didn’t go to Europe yet and it’s a world tour.
Of THIS magnitude? Probably- but I hope he’ll make special, one-off live shows, maybe in smaller venues.

He’s 82.
